- Prince (10/5): -
- Ashwin (9/5): Excellent - Everything was great from the room locations that was really close to all amenities
The staff were friendly and accommodating My aircon did not switch from cold to warm or hot on the cold nights
I had reported it but despite someone coming to assist it still did not work

- Khongiza (10/5): - We liked everything about the place. The staff is very friendly, we were welcomed by Neo at Reception, she was very kind and helpful, made us feel at home🙂🙂. The restaurant staff was also very friendly, our waiter, Nyoni Zitha was excellent 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼. The buffet breakfast was to die for, we were spoiled for choice. Our room was a very clean....we will definitely come back soon🤗
- Dieketseng (10/5): - Water view was so relaxing
- Dyondzo Urgent (10/5): -
- Moti (8/5): - The Fnb Supervisor was so good and the other waiter NYONI
- Lorraine (3/5): Not what we expected. Not impressed at all - Dinner meal was amazing. Finisher looks very old and bath handles rusted compared to ones on pictures when doing bookings.Bed linen was dirty with stains.
- Thato (10/5): Loved the place and location...spa was incredible - Surroundings, location Breakfast is an opportunity
- Amic (9/5): -
- Graham (8/5): Absolutely amazing!!! Will recommend and be back. - The overall facilities were fantastic, the picnic was amazing. Italian picnic was extremely tasty and good quantity. Position of room 79 right at the river was perfect. Rooms was spacious and clean. Breakfast was fantastic. Tennis courts were not in good condition. Was ok to play on one but surface is breaking up and the nets were falling apart. Some small things in the room needed some maintenance like the towel holder was loose. Some lights were flickering in the bathroom. Nothing major just general wear and tear.
- Msap (10/5): -
- Thandiwe (10/5): -
- Sipho (6/5): Beware - Being upgraded to the next room. It had to first cleaned and properly refreshed. The selected room was dirty (hence the upgrade): floors, glasses, bathroom, and was infested by cockroaches.
- Lesego (10/5): - Great meals
Friendly staff
The place is perfect for relaxation, soothing The capert in the reception lobby has a funny smell
- PETER (8/5): - Meals were excellent
Spa was outstanding
- Rabotutu (4/5): I’m not happy with the room we were assigned, what I saw on booking.com compared to what I found was not pleasant. The b - The location, the roaming animals, the food, the spa The bathroom is outdated, the tiles are old with dirt trapped on the corners, the bath mixer is leaking when u open the bath is spreads to the surrounding area. The restaurant has an old design.
- Baby (9/5): My stay at the lodge was okay, however I visited during December and there were few visitors, wish they told me earlier -
- Phindile (10/5): The best vacation we ever took - The service at the spar excellent and i loved our picnic setup that was perfect nothing everything was perfect
- Mpho (8/5): The stay was good, and the massage was absolutely perfect - The area, the spa, the food, and the staff were excellent 👌🏾 The rooms are too basic for the price I paid; I’ve stayed in better rooms for less
- Mandu (7/5): Good - The accommodation was pleasant. Friendliness of staff at reception and the restaurant and breakfast was good. Attending to maintenance issues that were required in one of our rooms. The spa experience was lovely. Our experience was negatively affected by the following:
a) restaurant services in terms of communication about the dining area. On the last night of our stay when we were ordering dinner we were informed by the chef that we cannot sit in the dining area since we will not be eating from the buffet and should sit at the bar and order from the bar menu which had very limited options compared to the menu that we were ordering from since arrival. b) housekeeping services were delayed on one of the days which was an inconvenience since we were returning from activities and needing the room ready for some rest.
- Sempo (2/5): Disaster - Nothing What you see on the internet and the actual venue is not the same , the garden and the pool was so dirty couldn’t enjoy being outside
- MacKeown (8/5): Despite the above we had a very pleasant stay - The room was very comfortable and clean The service in the dining room was very poor. Most of the waiters did not seem to be competent with the menu and two items ordered on the menu, the waiter had to go and ask if it was available, neither were available. Had to wait an hour and a half to be served lunch when we arrived on the 31st. There seemed to a complete lack of supervision and management
The website advertises a fully equipped gymnasium. This left a lot to be desired. It was filthy and the equipment certainly needed an upgrade. I believe Housekeeping was in charge of the gym. Again, a complete lack of supervision and management
- Mandla (8/5): - It's a beautiful place, relaxing and my family loved it aswell. The food is great too. The furniture needs replacement
- Junior (7/5): -
- Andrews (5/5): -
- Lebogang (10/5): Amazing - The room was so great and the garden love it N/A
- maphake (9/5): -
- Lisa (3/5): Disappointed - The staff were friendly Everything. From the location , entrance to the rooms that are badly in need of upgrade. I even upgraded to the next highest level and was still dissatisfied. The waiter was not well trained.
- Ben (7/5): -
- Austin (6/5): - The place is good, I'm person who like adventures and for me staying one night didn't give time to do all those things especially hiking. Stayed for a night I have nothing to complain or criticize.
- Zipho (9/5): -
- Bontle (5/5): None - Bedroom and my night chef You can’t sell water for breakfast you must put water as part of breakfast
- Arnold (5/5): - The location. The calmness
and silence The connectivity and service in the kitchens at times
- Simon (10/5): - Everything. Nothing.
- Mphokuhle Abbidon (10/5): -
- Lehlohonolo (10/5): -
- Jane (7/5): A pleasant relaxing experience - The staff were exceptional very aware and friendly . Would have preferred an Ala carte dinner but must admit the buffet was fresh.
- Le Ray (10/5): -
- Thabang (7/5): -
- Ruen (7/5): -
- Owen (5/5): - The breakfast was excellent the other meals were not good. The spa was excellent. The bath in the room was not in good condition. The cupboards were in very bad condition. The toilet was loose on the floor.
- Vanya (7/5): - The spa was exceptional except that every bottle of wine or champagne wasn't available. Dinner was exceptionally disappointing! The person who I spoke to at reception regarding a cake for my friend's 60th birthday forgot about it. I had to upgrade to a better room which cost an extra R700.00. Service and dinner.
- Dolly (9/5): -
- Bokaba (10/5): - The spa facilities are great. The area is nice and quiet. The room service was so good. The experience was good value for money
- Thulani (6/5): - Food, scenery and the comfortability Cold water on the shower
- Nalize (10/5): It was absolutely amazing and peaceful - They went out their way to accomodate us No complaints
- Shereen (7/5): -
- Tshetlo Salome (10/5): -
- Pamela (7/5): -
- Sharon Makgato (10/5): -
- Celiwe (8/5): The lodge was very cosy and beautiful. We enjoyed the walks and being around the river. - The buffet dinner was delicious. The breakfast was dry and the staff at breakfast were in a rush and impatient.
- Paola (8/5): A pleasant stay at a lovely lodge - It was nicely laid out, peaceful and quiet. Loved the Zebras and Springbucks and monkeys we saw on the property. There was some industrial cleaning happening while we were there so we were unable to use the dining area. Our dinners were served in the bar and the lighting was not great for dining (too bright)
The Spa seemed a little run down and the jacuzzi was not working but we weren’t told about that until after paying for the spa experience.
- Moloto-Modise (8/5): An enjoyable stay and we will definitely be returning - Staff - all courteous & professional. Made all processes from checking in, booking spa treatments to checking out seamless. Note worthy are Alfred at reception and Joyline at the spa I had made specific dietary requirements which were not fully catered for - the chef did however try his best on my second night.
We had patrons that misunderstood the concept of the spa for relaxation - perhaps a emphasis on the rules on arrival at the spa, even though shared during the booking process
- Conradie (8/5): -
- Kiki (9/5): - The food was great even though limited menu and getu pricy. The new rooms are exceptional. I especially like the river view. I also like the animals roaming around, the beautiful spar. The staff were the best. They went out of the way to take care of me. I felt like a queen. I did not really enjoy the massage that I got from.the spa. I was not ask about the pressure I preferred. I did not feel it was value gor money, but the supervisor made up for the disapointment. The property (spa) and the facilities are great.
- Puleng (8/5): Good, I would go back. - The spa was perfect. Breakfast the first day was cold. The next day, it was better
- Neo (10/5): Beautiful and Tranquil ❤️ - Joyline the Spa Receptionist was lovely, friendly and very welcoming.
Restaurant food was exceptional.
The whole place was just lovely to experience Nothing to complain about.
- Allin (10/5): Well-appointed place which enabled guests to relax and enjoy the surroundings and the service. - Everything went well. All expectations met. Food and service excellent. Nothing of which I am aware.
- Thandiwe (10/5): - I love valley lodge Would recommend the alacarte menu to be enhanced add things like ribs and chicken wings
- Fredericks (10/5): -
- Pupuka (1/5): Horrible service and no professionalism whatsoever ! No communication . - Didn’t get to experience as we were moved to another hotel due to the poor planning . No communication was done regarding the accommodation of us being moved. We were send to another hotel due they poor plainning & blaming water & plumbing. Honestly this was so unprofessional - and on the day ?? This was uncalled for and unnecessary. Moving people without any consent or approval from us. And making it seem like it’s ohkay and we should be ohkay with it - disappointed with the Service we received today.
- Schulz (8/5): -
- Mbuyelo (10/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Nonhlanhla (9/5): - The room was spacious and very warm.
It was a very cold weekend but the heat Nothing
- Luann (5/5): - Spa and breakfasts were good. Great that you have a gym that stays open. Felt a little neglected, not v clean in places, in room, inside cupboards and places could be more.clean. The lobby and reception and lounge area had a bad damp smell. One tennis court badly weathered, not safe to use.
- Ronald (8/5): -
- Wendy (5/5): Passable - The room was very comfortable. The breakfasts were lovely. The smell of the carpets in the dining room while you eat. The food at the fri night buffet was very poor. The second night was a better standard.
Hikes are not marked properly as the beacons are different colour's.
- Phuthi (6/5): Pleasant - I love nature, so it was OK for me. I loved the river and being able to walk around the lodge. The food was bad, our first dinner was oxtail and baby maro the were not fresh. We had running tummy the whole night. In the morning, the breakfast was Wes .. the next day supper baby chicken was old , too much spice and the kingklip was soo hard.
- Namssy (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing! - The food was great, the spa treatment was amazing, the staff was friendly. The room we stayed in felt outdated, and the bathroom was especially disappointing, modernizing it would greatly enhance the overall experience of the location.
- Lerato (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zack (6/5): Pleasant -
- Patrick (10/5): What an excellent amazing stay we had at Valley Lodge & SPA - I liked the SPA a lot as well as the Dinner was excellent and the service received. Nothing I could think of...
- Willie (5/5): Where we had dinner infront of the Fireplace,it looks like a storage room dust all over the cupboard - The food for dinner and breakfast was excellent The aircon in room 36 made the room smelt like shit so we couldnt use it the whole night, the toilet seat is broken, the one basin's prop is stuck, things that should have been noticed by the maintenance staff. What piss me off,of most places is that guests are used to do quality reports and inspection reviews.I feel like sending you an Invoice for my time
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Refilwe (8/5): Very good - Spa treatment and accommodation.
- Sandra (4/5): Place needs some maintenance to be a 4 star - The location and friendly staff Not worth the money, accomodation needs maintenance restaurant needs to get the carpets clean
- Nndwammbi (8/5): Very good - The staff is great and always helpful . Offered a great place to relax, away from city life.
- Du (7/5): Good -
- Jonathan (6/5): Pleasant - environment and surroundings facilities old and not well maintained
- Burke (5/5): Passable - Peaceful good breakfast
Zebra Limited alacart menu & not available on Friday or Saturday.. Buffet very expensive.. all drin̈ks very expensive. Lounger mattresses shabby, dirty and in poor condition..hlon
- Zelda (8/5): Very good - Lovely venue, but expensive for a room that only had the basics..
- Adeline (9/5): Besides the hot water issue, everything was great. - The spa treatment we received was great and the facilities are awesome. The room we stayed in had no hot water which was a great inconvenience especially during a rainy weather.
- Refilwe (9/5): Superb -
- Michel (8/5): Very good -
- Makhosazana (7/5): Good -
- Hilary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (7/5): Great position but the pace is run down. - everything was just fine
The staff were great, and the food was average
The general appearance was poor. It just needs some attention to detail all round The state of the pool loungers and the area around the pool was shocking
Also, the whole establishment is dark and non-inviting
It's not somewhere I would want to return to as its tired.
Paying R3,500 a night is too much. It should be priced at around R1,200.00 per night
- Manoj (1/5): DIDNT STAY. PICNIC WAS HORRIBLE. PLACE HAD FULL FLYS. SMELLS BAD. I DID NOT STAY. I STAYED AT AT AOT - NOTHING EVERYTHING, MARKETING IS A LIE
- Theko (7/5): Good -
- Lebohang (8/5): Very good -
- Jacques (9/5): Restful and Relaxing weekend with great food and entertainment. - SPA was great, staff were frinedly NA
