- StephieTheGreat (2/5): Sad, outdated and tired hotel - I really regret staying at SAAD Hotel. From start to finish, it was a frustrating, disappointing experience—and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Customer service is absolutely terrible. The front desk and concierge staff are completely indifferent. They don’t greet you, don’t help you, and clearly don’t care. They’re just there to collect a paycheck, and it shows. Breakfast is awful. The kasha (normally a staple in hotels) was thin, runny, and looked unappetizing. No variety. The coffee was even worse—basically sweetened water with barely any coffee flavor. While my room had a great view, it wasn’t cleaned at all on my last day. No explanation, no one seemed to care. Elevators are a disaster. Only two for the whole hotel, and they are extremely slow. If you’re on a high floor, good luck getting anywhere without a long wait. I asked the concierge for help with ballet tickets—he acted like I was bothering him. Eventually, after I insisted, he booked them on his personal phone and told me to take a photo of the QR code. I paid him, and then he claimed not to have change. Completely unprofessional. Even when you do get service here, it’s reluctant and unhelpful. The entire hotel feels depressing and poorly managed. It could be something with a serious management overhaul and renovation, but as it stands—it’s a cold, joyless place to stay. Avoid this hotel. There are far better options in Astana.

- Roderick (10/5): - Staff were very welcoming and helpful at check in. Room was spacious and everything was as expected. QR codes were on desk to allow you to order room service or fill the minibar. Rooms are well soundproofed and have lovely views of the Lovers Park, Khan Shatyr and central Astana. Breakfast was usual buffet style with a mix of hot and cold options, pastries and fruit and veg available. Overall we would happily stay here again.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, good breakfast, poor internet - I was there on business, and I got exactly what I wanted for a short stay: a quiet room with a workplace. However, the internet connection was very unstable, I was not able to speak (not to mention video). Eventually, I had to use mobile internet. There is a mini-gym, which I used a few times. I did not have time to try the sauna and the small swimming pool, they looked good. Particularly I liked the breakfast, good selection of local and international food.

- MUN KEONG (2/5): - The place is old and slightly run down, service is non existent, stayed for more than a week, had my room made up only 3 times. All requests to the front desk is useless as they will so call record down, but do nothing. Have to sit at lobby to force them to do something before getting your basic stuff done. Worse than alot of 3 star hotels and motels I have been to in worse countries... breakfast is basic. How can they charge such prices for such non existence of service? Will not be back ever again.

Great breakfast and the View restaurant on the 27th floor served superb and great value food. Good fitness room and great, although I heated, pool and jacuzzi. Well located for walking to a lot of the sights in the city and close to other restaurants. Would highly recommend.

I have multiple allergies and every day they walk me through the buffet showing me what is safe for me to eat. Although I am in a non smoking room, I can smell smoke all through the day. It is disappointing that there were complications with my room booking. I needed a room for 2 adults with two beds, but Although I arranged this via chat with Expedia, this was not communicated to the hotel and so sadly the hotel wanted to charge $100 to have a bed added to the room.

It took over 20 minutes before we managed to get the waiter’s attention, even though the local customers who arrived after us were served immediately. It was clear they were ignoring us. When we finally managed to get the waitress she said we could have gone and found her if we needed to. bizarre, sloppy and somewhat expected at a Soviet outfit. For an international hotel charging London prices, it’s not acceptable. We got drinks and left to get lunch elsewhere.

- P530AU_ (2/5): If you want to ruin your holiday go to this hotel - previously it was Mariot, now only a few signs with the name Mariot remain of it! We traveled as a family, two adults and a baby. If you want to ruin your weekend go to this hotel! what we didn’t like 1. This hotel is not 5 stars, but 3+ 2. There were no bathrobes in the room, there were slippers for 1 person, bathroom accessories were also for 1 person, there was 1 bottle of water for the whole room, they brought it all in minutes 40 days after my call. 3. Do not use an iron if you do not want to ruin your clothes, unfortunately no one told me about this before, although now reading the comments, I respected these reviews. 4. On the third day of rest, we didn’t have cold water all morning, I called the reception and they offered me to go to the spa area and take a shower there, but I didn’t do it, by 12:00 pm we had water. 5. in the shower you can only take a shower from the top shower head, it cannot be switched over, it is broken . 6. The fridge is empty, there are no drinks to buy. 7. in a suite with a kitchen, there are no forks, knives, spoons What we liked 1. Location 2. Security who always opened the door, since we were with a stroller 3. the hotel improved the room when we checked in (I think they did it because our room was not ready) in total I will never come here and do not advise you !

- afgw (4/5): Dissapointing - I have stayed at the Marriott Hotel in Nur-Sultan several times. The service was always of a high standard, the rooms comfortable, the food delicious; basically the Marriott hotel in Nur-Sultan was an ambassador hotel of the Marriott group. This time was different …. I arrived in Nur-Sultan off the overnight flight from Istanbul (where I had also been staying in a Marriott hotel) at 10 am. The not very friendly receptionist advised me that I would have to pay for early checkin. This is normal policy nowadays and I was pleased to pay this as I was tired, would have liked to get a couple of hours sleep, and had a full afternoon / evening of meetings ahead of me. I was advised that it would take 20 – 40 minutes to prepare the room. I queried the occupancy of the hotel and was told it was at 60%. 1 h 30 mins later I was handed my room key. Not a great start. In my bathroom the showerhead had the quaint action of showering the ceiling rather than me and the loo-paper dispenser fell off the wall. More mild irritations! In the evening I visited the once renowned restaurant on the 27th Floor. The food was indifferent and the first three wines I choose from the wine list I was told were not available. Day 2 My room was not made up, my laundry (although promised to be returned in 24 h) was not returned, the loo-paper ran out, the mini-bar was not re-filled (so no water), on visiting the spa I found some of the exercise machine malfunctioning. Oh dear! Day 3 After a firm word with the receptionist my room was finally cleaned but the sheets not changed. Day 4 My room was not cleaned… again! Well, I suppose the good news is that I am returning to the to the excellent Marriott hotel in Istanbul tomorrow. I sent my comments to the General Manager, but he did not have the courtesy to respond.

Just a lonely instant coffee and hot water kettle. The wifi was terribly slow and lost connection frequently. The room was always too hot, even with AC set to maximum. I slept poorly every night because it was too hot and the bed too saggy. The view was uninspiring, looking out to the construction zone next door. The location is not good, seemingly just a bit too far from everything you'd want to do or see. The breakfast very basic and lacking flavor. The room service menu every basic and lacking flavor. The restaurant served us a sloppy tasteless burger. They had in stock only 1 of the 7 or so beers on their menu... and it was surely the least exciting option. I definitely will not stay here again.

Good view, great chef. Had langustines and apple pie with icecream. Highly recommend. In the area-Khan Shatyr etc. Overall, a good location, nice views.

- Fuatei (6/5): Good Hotel but Service Issues - I stayed at this hotel for two nights during a business trip. Hotel is a standard 5-star hotel for its level, nice rooms with nice city view. However, when one pays this much money to a global chain, expects a bit more. The restaurant on roof top (27th floor I believe) was closed for both nights for private events. How can you not allow your guests use the facility, if that is one of the attractions of your hotel? A lady let me look around nonetheless, but told me the place was booked for private events on both nights, so I could not dine. Furthermore, I asked for a taxi to the airport, and the driver tried to rip me off. Having the language challenge, I tried to contact the hotel to help at least with translation, and no answer. I would expect a taxi booked through the hotel concierge not to rip me off! Driver was also driving recklessly, speeding and racing with other vehicles, so much so that I had to shout at the driver to stop if he was to drive like that. You are better to use ride share apps for any trip in this country. Reception staff were kind, even the bellboy spoke decent English (welcome change in the country). You probably better off with another establishment when you stay in this city.
- Hudsonmccraw (10/5): What an amazing stay at the Astana Marriott. - I really like the location of this hotel, on Dostyq street. It is within a short walking distance to the Khan Shatyr and Asia Park malls. It is also within a reasonable walking distance to the Beyterek Tower and other sites. The hotel is definitely very comfortable and upscale, and the two room suite that I had, was very spacious and nicely appointed. The facilities of this hotel were really good. They have a nice fitness room and indoor pool. The executive lounge had a decent food selection of light bites during the evening hours, and the food served at Aroma restaurant at the lobby level was quite good. The staff at this hotel was definitely top notch. Every need I had, they met and gave extra effort to make sure my needs were taken care of. Whether it was the front desk, executive lounge, fitness room, or housekeeping staff, they were at the top of their game and were warm and hospitable. I especially want to thank Nikita from the front desk. I had a need that weren't related to my stay at the hotel, but required extra effort and time to fulfill, so I could go to the right place in the city to have my specific needs met(finding a money exchange in Nur-Sultan that converted Uzbek Soms to Tenge). He made a lot of phone calls, and arranged for me to take a taxi there. He put in a lot of time and effort to make sure that everything went smoothly for me, and that shows a lot of dedication and devotion on his part. It was because of Nikita that I was able to get what I needed done. It wouldn't have been possible without him. People like him, are what makes a hotel experience great. Please give him the best commendation, acknowledgment, and thanks on my behalf. He deserves it! I had a wonderful stay at the Astana Marriott. I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm visiting Nur-Sultan.
- JinnFn (8/5): Once you are in Nur-Sultan stay in Marriott - More or less I liked this hotel. There were some negative moments, but I don't want to mention them, actually. I would really like to say about positive aspects of this hotel. First of all, it is food. I really loved my breakfasts in Marriott. It was just delicious! Second, the room. It was always warm which is great for me. And the bed was so comfortable. I was sleeping like a child. And, finally, the location. This hotel is situated right near the famous trading center. So, if you need some shopping just go ahead. It takes 5 minutes by walk. Thank you very much, Marriott!
- VML-DC (10/5): 5 night business stay and conference - Hotel is well located near malls and shops as well as the main promenade. I had a room on 15 with club access, which was well worth it. Decent (hot) breakfast served in the club and it was usually staffed. Conference space isn't very easy to find or navigate. Staff is overall helpful. Rooms are comfortable. Not the newest international hotel in Astana but where it counts (rooms, club) things were in good shape. The lobby is a bit sad.
- Dwyrwas (10/5): Great hotel with prime location - Had a great 3 night stay at Astana Marriott Hotel. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Staff a very friendly and accommodating. We booked the hotels airport pick up and return which made our stay hassle free. The Executive lounge was perfect for a quiet breakfast and the lounge staff was very friendly. The hotel is a short walk to all the major attractions, restaurants and tourist sites. Concierge arranged a great private day tour of the city sites. Would definitely recommend Marriott Astana Hotel.
- stevebintley (10/5): Great rooms, service, views and location! - I had a wonderful stay here and would certainly consider it again on a future visit to the city. The hotel’s airport transfer service was good, despite being substantially more expensive than a normal taxi and the driver not speaking very good English, but at the early hour of my arrival the seamlessness was welcome. At around 6am I had to pay extra for the early check in but the process was easy and the member of staff was really friendly with fluent English. The hotel’s lobby was welcoming and spacious with loads of comfortable seating. I booked a Superior Corner Room, and I would highly recommend paying the small additional cost to secure one of the corner rooms. I was on the 11th floor and the views were incredible, with perspectives over the Khan Shatyr shopping centre as well as the city to the East. The room itself was really large and very spacious, with a huge bed, coffee table and armchairs, separate sofa and large desk. The TV was a good size for the room with BBC World News as the UK option and the air conditioning worked well. There was so much storage in the room and it would easily be suitable to an extended and long stay. A single complimentary bottle of water was provided each day and the mini bar was well stocked with a good range of drinks, however there was no coffee machine. Electric sockets were present by the sides of the bed which was great. The bathroom was equally as impressive as the main room. It was divided into two areas, the first with bath and shower, two sinks and lots of storage space, with the second housing the toilet, bidet and massive walk in shower. The whole room was tiled throughout and felt very luxurious. Although really large the shower door leaked which was a pain and the towels were pretty harsh and felt old. Otherwise it was a great space and really relaxing. Gowns and slippers were present in the main wardrobe too. Housekeeping always observed the ‘do not disturb’ sign on the room and there was no noise from outside making for perfect sleep quality. All of the communal areas throughout the hotel were decorated nicely and really clean. This helped to give a really high end vibe to the place and also a good atmosphere. Just off the lobby area was the ground floor bar which was a nice spot to relax. The staff were quick and the tables large for both individuals and groups. The drinks menu was very extensive and complimentary nuts were provided with drink orders. The top floor of the hotel housed the Vista bar, and although I enjoyed spending time there it felt like it had so much more potential. It doesn’t open until 6pm and on a Saturday evening was practically empty. The music provides a good atmosphere and the view over the city is indeed impressive. However, there’s only about two seats which are actually by the window so unless you arrive early you’re unlikely to be able to make the most of it. There are two levels with tables so even at busy times you’re likely to be accommodated and there’s sections suitable for groups as well as couples and singletons. It was a shame that there were no draught beer options available on the Saturday night but fortunately the drinks menu is extensive enough to provide most people with a suitable alternative, including a number of local options. Prices were reasonable considering the setting too which was great. The food menu in the bar was great, with a full selection of steaks as well as tapas dishes. Steaks are cooked on the rare side so bear this in mind if you don’t like red, but otherwise they’re delicious. The seafood tapas platter was brilliant and a great portion for the size, and eating it at the window with the view was a delight. The staff were really attentive and I certainly felt welcome. The location of the hotel was good for my first visit to the city. Cross the road and you’re in Lover’s Park with an easy walk down to Baiterek Tower and Presidential Palace. It’s further than a map indicates (about thirty minutes) but it allows you to see other parts of the city on the way; I certainly wouldn’t hesitate staying here despite there being other more centrally located hotels. Overall it was a wonderful stay. The staff are all good, the location is great and given the incredible room the value is superb. It comes highly recommended from me despite not usually liking the Marriott brand - it certainly feels a lot more luxury and homely than most of their other places. Super.
- firozu2018 (10/5): Excellent stay with great view. - My review is based on a superior room, with 1 king bed and I had an excellent stay with a fantastic view of Khan Shatyr. The hotel itself is located in a slightly secluded part of Astana, although easily walkable to the major sights either via the parks or road. I did request a room with great view before I arrived and can say they accommodated my request, so very pleased with that. The windows in my room were very large so I could enjoy my view of Khan Shatyr during the day and night. I was a single traveller so the room was large enough for me with plenty of space. Bathroom area was large as well. As expected, the hotel was very clean and had everything you would expect from a Marriott. I did not use the swimming pool but it looked great. There are plenty of options for breakfast with lots of places to sit in the spacious breakfast/restaurant area. Service was very quick and the food was of a very good quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful with check in and out being very smooth. Airport pick up and drop off can be easily arranged and I had no issues with either one, as both were on time and it is a 20-30 minute car ride.
