- Jona (10/5): - This is our go to place in Cancun with 2 young children. Multiple pools, several dining options and beautiful beach! Rooms have a sofa bed and easy accommodates our two toddlers. The nightly entertainment focuses on kids is great to keep them busy before bed time. We have not been able to try their adults offerings yet only the family side of the resort.

Good: Playground and Water park, good room service and menu, minibar with a lot of options. Bad: mosquitos, poor service (I was all the time running after waiters to ask for drinks or something else) Water Park hours just until 5:30 PM. They said no reservations and there was a waiting list and empty tables, poor kids activities, spa policies. Improve: more food options. Welcome to the hotel

- Yiying (4/5): - I pay extra for the rooftop suit but when I checked in on Sep 30, they said the suit is under construction and wonât be ready till Oct3, they feel sorry so they can give me 100 credit on spa, but if this kind of thing happened the first option shouldnât be refund me 3 nights update fee? Itâs around 300 extra and it shouldnât be just the credit. On Oct 3, I went to check in for the rooftop suit in the morning and they said room wonât ready till 3pm, so I back there at 2:45pm, the room is ready but when I go to the room itâs not a big relationship with ocean view. I have been Cancun for 3 times, in my mind, last two times I paid extra for the ocean view and the room is directly face to the ocean, not like this I need to find which angle I can see the sea. I donât really want to be a tricky customer but this time I have to because I paid almost 1000 CAD to update for this and I went back to the check in place. They told me thatâs the only room they have and what I paid extra is for the pool view. đ how stupid I could be to pay 1k for a pool view. Finally I donât have a chance to be a tricky customer because they have no other room. I asked them I have been waiting for the room from Sep 30 to Oct 3. Am I able to be first to pick a good view room or I deserve a good view room? But the same, they said we are really sorry about this, but we donât have any room as what they always say. Sorry, but nothing they can do.
- Elma G (4/5): - Property is nice but they gave us a room in a building that needed to shut down for renovation and were told that we had to move to another building still with construction happening around us before the day of the wedding and with daily events to attend which put a lot of stress. Personal at front desk were not helpful and understanding, they said if we didnât move they will shut down all water and electricity etc. second room was of less quality, they gave us two small beds for a couple with ocean view which we didnât even enjoyed because it was close to the wedding and had to leave next day, elevators were slow and still needing repairs etc. the personnel at restaurants and around the property were awesome. In a few words, we never had a situation like this before, the whole room moving put a lot of unnecessary stress, took tine from our vacations and enjoyment of the amenities .

- Layth (2/5): - This not a 5 star hotel I'll give it 3 star hotel the room too old seeing how much money we paid for this stay. the bathrooms are old the bed the nightstands, just not luxury at all. outside the room: always massive amounts of mosquitoes that will literally attack u as soon as u step outside and bunch of geckos outside the room on the hallway's walls and ceilings at night. another thing is the resort is relatively small, not many floors to get that ocean view, and the rooms are not in the main building as the lobby however it is very kids friendly and the food at the buffet and steak house is good

- Kamela (4/5): - This resort was a huge disappointment. The property felt much smaller than what is shown on social media, and overall nothing matched the expectations they set. The food was awful the same things every single day with no variety. The restaurants were not enjoyable at all, and there wasnât even a proper buffet option for dinner. Everything felt repetitive, bland, and disappointed We booked a simple room but asked at check-in to upgrade to a pool room and pay the difference. They told us there were no rooms available, but the whole time we were there we saw many of those rooms sitting empty. That felt dishonest and unfair The worst experience was at the poolside restaurant. We ordered dinner while traveling with two babies (6 months old), and the area was completely swarmed with mosquitoes. It was impossible to eat â I even had to leave with my friendâs baby because her little face was covered in bites. When we asked the waitress if something could be done, her answer was simply: âNo, there is nothing to do about it.â This was shocking and unacceptable Overall, this resort was absolutely not worth the price or reputation. I will never return and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The beach was beautiful, soft sand, and swimming, the highlight of our trip. In general the property was very nice, clean and the staff around the property were great. All of the pools were also great and you could always fine a place to sit with shade. We did have a few things we didn't love though, the first being check -in. I had previously fully completed online check in, including uploading our passports, but they fully re-did everything again by the time we waited in line and finally got checked in it was close to an hour. It is a very family friendly place if you wanted to make it a family vacation as well as a quiet & private get away you can spend a romantic time away with your loved one! Definitely worth every star! We booked the two tower room, my absolute favorite room!!!

Our server at Domo and at the Mexican restaurant, Pedro was really good. He knows the dishes well and provided perfect service and information. He made us welcomed at the restaurants. This really sets a high standard for an all inclusive.

- Ronak (4/5): - When you arrive at this hotel, the welcome experience is very disappointing. I booked a double room, with the choice of either two beds or a king, but they try to give you the worst room in the worst location, far from everything, and expect you to accept it. This didnât just happen to meâit also happened to two of my friends. For example, I had already paid and booked a double bed room, but at check-in the receptionist told me they only had a single bed room with a sofa bed, even though there were two of us. That is completely unacceptable To be fair, the hotel itself is clean, the beach is nice, and the room service and food are good. But they do not provide accurate information. They sell the hotel as if itâs a âsummer resortâ package with lots of choices, but in reality, itâs very limited. For example, the website says there are ten restaurants, but after 5 p.m. only two restaurants are actually open, and when I asked why, I was told it was because there were fewer guests. If thatâs the case, the price should also be lower. Overall, this hotel is not a good choice for younger people or anyone looking for fun. Thereâs really nothing to enjoy here. I would not recommend it.

One issue is the kids area does not have a bar and youâre not allowed to bring any drinks so spending all day at the kids area would leave the parents with not much to do since adults cannot use the water park. The Finest in Punta Cana has the blob thing in the main pool so the kids can play all day and the adults can enjoy themselves also.

- Francesca (8/5): - My family and I had a wonderful stay at Finest. The food was overall good, with Surf and Turf being the standout restaurant â we truly enjoyed our meal there. We traveled with our 10-year-old son. Although he found the kidsâ club a bit too young and boring for his age, he really enjoyed the pools. The staff were very attentive and always did their best to meet our needs. Room service was quick and excellent. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The hotel also honored our Expedia VIP status, which made us feel even more valued as guests. As a young African American family, we sometimes worry about experiencing anti-Blackness while traveling. Unfortunately, this has happened to us before in places like the Dominican Republic. However, we did not experience that here, which made our stay even more enjoyable and comfortable. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is simply because nowhere is perfect, and there are always some areas for improvement. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we are already looking forward to returning soon.

- Mandy (10/5): - We loved this resort so much! The resort grounds were beautiful! This is the perfect size of resort, you can walk from one side to the other in 5 minutes. We loved all of the quieter pools in front of each building! The kids club was awesome! Our little guy loved going to the shows nightly, we appreciated a few adult only dinners! The food and drinks were good! The steakhouse and French restaurants were our favorites for dinner. We enjoyed the nightly shows, the Mexican night was our favorite! All inclusive vacations are not our favorite type of vacation, but we did enjoy this one! We would definitely choose this resort again!

The rooms need a bit of updating, there is not much privacy in the restrooms. If you are looking for a comfortable room for families I would look into staying in the family suite options or maybe adding an additional room. What impressed me the most was the exceptional service from everyone at the resort. We visited the spa one day and did a couples package which was amazing. Overall I recommend this resort!

- SEAN SALINAS (10/5): - My wife and I have traveled to Cancun multiple times within the last decade and have discovered this place for the very first time. Staff is by far the best we have ever had the pleasure to be around. The customer service is amazing!! Caribbean waters were always swimming and wadeable, beach was pristine with plenty of cabanas, wait staff made sure you were catered to with refreshments and food. Pools were not over crowded and yes plenty of staff. Grounds are elegantly maintained throughout the entire resort. Restaurants and nightlife also over and beyond. Rooms are very spacious with multiple options. We went with the rooftop pool option and will try the swim out option next time. We have done mega resorts and smaller resorts and this one is just right. Finest Playa Mujeres is the very best option you can do for Staff, Resort and Cost when considering a CancĂșn experience!!!

- Ketan (4/5): - We had 3 rooms and almost all the rooms had some kind of issues. Only few people stood out but majority of them had attitude. Food really sucked for a resort. We had better food at other resort nearby in our previous trip. Beach had lots of seaweed. Kids club was located at the corner of property which was very inconvenient. Coconut should have been available to all the bars but at this location only at one bar from 12-2pm. I have never heard that before. Aqua bar bartender was very mean. Only people who stood out were Carlos and Prascila. Upon request, chef cooked for us Indian food, which was very helpful. Besides that restaurants were mediocre. Japanese was the worst. They do not let you modify whatsoever even for kids. I will not be recommending this resort.

We also appreciated the no-reservations dining concept in theoryâit encourages flexibilityâbut in practice, it meant long wait times. It's engineered to look good enough in marketing materials to justify premium pricing while delivering the cheapest possible experience behind the scenes. They're banking on the fact that most people are Americans and not familiar to a really high quality Mexican experience that you can get in other resorts. This place is all flash and no substance - the very definition of a tourist trap masquerading as luxury.
- Adnan (2/5): - Folks that work there are not accommodating and helpful at all, the hotelâs air conditioning is terrible. Restaurants have really long wait and the food comes out cold. Thereâs no extra perks for finest club so itâs a waste of money. Beach area was full of seaweed and hotel doesnât seem to be too concerned about cleaning. I had a finest two bedroom via Expedia with roof top pool but didnât get the two bedrooms. Theâs no privacy in the room that was provided, the bedroom and the bathroom are in the same area nothing separating, no door at all. The property is not ran the same as other excellence resorts such as one in DR or Jamaica. I am very disappointed and had to switch resorts. I would not recommend this to anyone. This place isnât all that luxury. The hotel we switched to is really a true luxury resort, worth the money. I would not be returning to the excellence resorts in the future.

- Luis Manuel (8/5): - This is our third time at Finest and Fifth time overall at the Excellence collection. We did the club this time because we always enjoy the extra perks and the check in is so much more pleasant. The club has a designated beach area and it makes life much convenient as well. There are so many things we love about this resort : no wrist bands, no reservations needed for restaurants, the sweets bar is a favorite! I love the iced coffee baked goods and fresh fruit always available, the service and staff are just wonderful, I never feel like they are waiting to be tipped and they always seem to go out of their way. Clearly we like this place a lot but there are some areas they need to improve; -Seating by the pool area, it makes 0 sense to have such limited availability and also allow people to wake up at the crack of dawn people âreserveâ & have the chair sit empty for hours on end - Itâs completely unfair to guest and your staff to have ONE bartender at the swim up bar. A resort this size should have at least two. I felt terrible for the employees trying to keep up with everyoneâs orders and wash the cups etc -the kids club: itâs for kids 3 and up my kids are 2.5 and 11 and it seemed like I had to beg for them to be included in the activities. No effort was made with either child to remind them of upcoming events or activities and that was disappointing - Finest club includes top shelf drinks but it can only be found in the club house one area of the hotel

- DESIREE (8/5): - Positive: Location:45 minutes fr the Airport. Cleanliness: The room was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Staff Service: The moment we arrived at the resort, a staff member greeted us right away, and it was refreshing to have a cold towel. The reception staff at the Excellence Club were welcoming and efficient. The staff and servers at all the restaurants we visited were prompt and courteous. Food and Beverage: The restaurants served high-quality food, with a special mention of the Dommo restaurant, which is an Excellence Club exclusive. We had breakfast and dinner there, the food and service were top notch, so donât miss it if you plan to upgrade your stay. Shoutout to Carlos, Yahir, Mario, and Alma who were very nice, friendly, and attentive when we had dinner on a Monday. - Value for Money: Itâs pricey, so plan. I didnât think that the value of the swim-up suite we paid for was worth the amount (refer to the negative review below). Negative: The most disappointing thing about our stay was the lack of privacy in the swim-up suite. We booked the Excellence Junior Swim-up suite. We had expected a private swim-up, but unfortunately, all the swim-up pools were open and shared with everyone, regardless of the room type. Our room was directly in front of the bar, which was always busy. The wedding party group was directly in front of our pool access. Note to upcoming guests: First swim-up pool weâve been to of this kind, open to all, no exclusivity, itâs a big NO for me.

The kids club area was a fun break from regular swimming for the kids and the lifeguards made sure everyone was safe. I have never had such a fantastic vacation! Will absolutely be back again.
