It is truly a magical place, you can feel it as soon as you step foot on the grounds. My week here felt like a cozy oasis and home away from home. The staff are incredible! The grounds are a luscious paradise, and the salt water pool was perfection. The beach is just a few steps away, so you have the best of both worlds. Everyone was so warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. And the food.. absolutely delicious! You have to experience it for yourself. I would highly recommend staying here for a vacation or retreat!
• lisafmac (10/5): Encantada is a magical place! - The magical adventure started with easy pick up at the airport by a friendly driver who drove a comfy van with AC and made a perfect rest stop along the way to pick up cold drinks and enjoy the most fun souvenir shop! The ride was actually enjoyable to view the beautiful mountains and chat about the country with Gustavo! Upon arrival at Encantada Costa Rica (Encantada Ocean Cottages), we were greeted by staff who brought us to our cottage, and immediately felt the special vibe at Encantada! The lush beauty of the gardens that surrounded the grounds made us feel like we were fully rooted in nature. The cozy size made getting around very easy, like going from the salt water pool to the beach or filling up on water at the bar. The resident cat Nala could be spotted sunbathing or shade seeking so she made us feel like we could relax too and added to the you are at home vibe. The beach was the softest sand we have ever walked on! The food was outstanding! Every day, we enjoyed the fresh local fruit, and beautiful choices of local fish, chicken, steak or vegetarian. Our dinners were cooked on an outdoor wood burning grill so it was extra delicious! The yoga area was covered and outdoor so we had the ocean breeze, shade, the view of rolling ocean waves in front of us, and the sound of the waves!! The restaurant was also outdoor, covered so again, we had the breeze, sound and view, which was so immersive! The beds were comfortable and the cottages were spacious, clean, and AC & fan options. And the staff was super friendly, the morning coffee was outstanding, and I know I will be back to visit!!!
• KristinG56 (10/5): The retreat of my dreams delivered! - I've stayed in a lot of beautiful places, but Encantada in Esterillos Este is something different. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like we genuinely mattered, not in a scripted, hospitality-industry way, but in a way that felt human and real. The clean and quiet beach for my morning coffee walk was a highlight! So many spaces to relax on the beach, by the pool, and well appointed areas throughout the property to hang out. Kyrstin organized bonfires, massage, surfing, horseback riding, and more keeping the energy and options flowing the entire time. Roger shared his expertise on the local fruit, facilitated cold plunges, and then took us on an impromptu adventure to find sloths in the wild which honestly might have been the highlight of the trip. And Tiffany, the owner, brought a warmth and genuine love for her property and her guests that you felt in every small detail because she clearly thought of all of them. I wish I could name every single staff member, because every one of them deserved to be mentioned. The attention to detail, the quiet kindness, the way they anticipated what you needed before you asked it was palpable across the board. Since our meals were fully handled by the Encantada team, we were nourished from arrival to departure. The food was not just good it was outstanding. Thoughtful, beautifully prepared, and served with the same genuine care that defined everything about our stay. I have never felt more comfortable or cared for on vacation. If you're looking for a place where you can truly exhale and be looked after by people who actually mean it this is it. We will absolutely be back.

The cottages were adorable and the beach was perfection! The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I loved the live music night, and the food was delicious. It was one of the best vacations of my life. 10/10 - would recommend.

I had an extremely small room compared to most, but I do know that the other rooms were much larger We had really good service the first night but then very poor Service the next four nights Like they didn’t even refill our waters… And when I asked them to refill the water and washcloths in my room, I was told to do it myself Again, I like the location, but I was highly disappointed with the coordinator Kristy(Kristen?) She was not very thorough and spoke quickly, and didn’t want to be bothered by too many questions it seemed. Very disorganized and not informative and we were not thoroughly informed of the excursion details. She seemed too busy to deal with us One of the girls in our retreat, researched the excursions on our own and gave us the details I loved the retreat because of the people I was with, but I will not return to this excursion destination
• shivba (10/5): Quiet, peaceful vacation and yoga retreat - My wife and I spent a week at Encantada Ocean Cottages as part of a yoga retreat, and it was a deeply calming and memorable experience. The location is absolutely perfect for yoga. Practicing twice a day in the beachside shala, with the sound of the ocean and open views of the sea, created a uniquely peaceful atmosphere. The resort is intentionally away from crowded tourist areas, which made it exceptionally quiet and restorative—exactly what we were looking for. The beach area is beautifully set up with hammocks and chairs under coconut trees, making it easy to relax between sessions. Being able to order a fresh coconut while lounging by the ocean was a simple but delightful touch. They have a clean and beautiful pool to relax. The food deserves special mention. Every meal was delicious, healthy, and thoughtfully prepared using farm‑fresh produce. You can really feel the care that goes into both the ingredients and the preparation. We stayed in an upstairs loft room, which was small, cozy, clean and comfortable. While we would have appreciated a bit more closet space, the room overall met our needs. The wooden floors did carry some sound from the downstairs guests, The owners responded immediately and took steps to make our stay more comfortable, which we truly appreciated. The resort also did an outstanding job organizing local excursions. Roger took us on a waterfall hike and shared fascinating insights about the local flora and fauna. We also wanted to visit Manuel Antonio National Park, but tickets were unavailable when we looked on our own. Krystin somehow managed to find a tour with openings and arranged an excellent guide who gave us a fantastic experience in the park—above and beyond service. The staff, both in the restaurant and through room service, were always present, kind, and eager to help. What really sets Encantada apart is that the owners are onsite every day, personally ensuring that everything runs smoothly. It’s clear they have poured their hearts into this place, and it shows in every detail. Tips for Future Guests: Let the resort know about dietary needs in advance—they are very accommodating. Book excursions early, especially popular ones like Manuel Antonio. If you’re a light sleeper, consider rooms on the inner side of the resort, as neighborhood dogs can be noisy at night and rooms have thin walls. Overall, Encantada Ocean Cottages is a special place—peaceful, thoughtful, and run with genuine care. We left feeling relaxed, nourished, and grateful for the experience, and we would absolutely return.

Atmosphere is relaxed, this is a tropical paradise. You can be adventurous and surf, or go horseback riding right from the resort if you don’t want to lay back. Super private, with private cottages you can really get your own space. Without paying a huge premium. The secluded beach makes you feel like you’re the only ones there. Super clean and tidy, convenient storage and hooks in rooms and lines to hang your wet suits and towels outside.

Beautiful location with beach access, a heated pool, the most delicious and healthy food and full service bar with the kindest and most attentive staff. I can’t say enough good things about this resort. The atmosphere is relaxing, the rooms are spotless and have everything you need including coffee and tea. The excursions offered were so fun- so far I have tried horseback riding, zip lining, sound bath, yoga, waterfall hike, on site massage, monkey mangrove and have loved every single one! Can’t wait to be back.
• TravelbeeSantaFe_NM (10/5): Am I enchanted? Claro question si! - We have loved this beach for 35-plus years, and discovering Encantada Ocean Cottages will keep it on our annual visit list. There is nothing quite like walking out of your room in the morning, grabbing a cub of coffee and walking to the beach. Or, if you are a yoga enthusiast, starting your day with a sun salutation. And, of course, ending the day with a view of the sunset from comfy hammocks and seating near the playa. The rooms are LARGE and well appointed, lots of shelves and closet space, fridge and TWO desks. The staff is friendly, bilingual (they almost won't speak to you in Spanish!) and helpful. If you've not been to this part of CR before, you're going to be amazed at the wide open beaches ... almost to yourself. Plus, there are several quite tasty restaurants within driving distance because you probably won't want to have every meal at the Encantada bistro. Be enchanted too.

You can't beat the location... right on a very secluded beach! The food is great, the beds are comfortable, and so many pillows! But the best part is the staff. Most of the same staff was there this year, that we loved last year. They remembered us and made us feel as though we were returning home when we arrived! Special thanks goes to Kyrstin, our retreat coordinator, for making sure everything ran smoothly!

This quiet boutique hotel feels like a hidden paradise tucked into lush tropical gardens, perfectly positioned right on miles of open, peaceful beach that often felt like it was entirely ours. Waking up to the sunrise over the ocean and ending each day with an unforgettable golden hour sunset was pure bliss. The food was absolutely incredible — fresh, vibrant, and beautifully prepared — and the staff delivered a level of warmth and service that felt deeply personal. Within just two days, everyone knew my name, which made the entire experience feel even more special and welcoming. Practicing yoga with the sound of the waves and a soft ocean breeze drifting through was something I’ll never forget. Macaws flew overhead during our stay, sand dollars and colorful seashells dotted the shoreline, and the pool area — surrounded by lush plants and bursts of tropical color — was simply stunning. I truly cannot say enough good things about the team, the atmosphere, or the experience as a whole. Encantada Beach Cottages is peaceful, beautiful, and deeply rejuvenating — and I already cannot wait to return to this little slice of paradise.

I loved it so much, I came back this year for a retreat and added on 5 more nights to celebrate my 50th birthday. On the last day of the retreat, the retreat guests departed and several hours later, my friends and family arrived. I really can’t explain the warmth and heart this place emanates. If you need a place to fill up and become the best version of yourself, this is the place.

The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff are thoughtful and attentive. The yoga shala right on the beach is so serene. I’ve hosted a Christ-centered yoga retreat here three years in a row, and the experience has been exceptional every time—so much so that I’m already planning my fourth. It’s an oasis and a little piece of heaven on earth!

• alenamarie17 (10/5): A Long Overdue Review for a Truly Special Hotel in Costa Rica - This review is long overdue, as our extended family has been fortunate enough to stay at Encantada twice, once in 2018 and again in 2022. Both times, we booked all of the cottages for an entire week, bringing together a group that spanned from young children to travelers in their 70s. The property could not have been more perfect for our group, which ranged in age from young children to travelers in their 70s. From the moment we arrived, Tiffany, Nome and the entire staff treated us like family. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care created an atmosphere where even the pickiest travelers in our group felt at ease. We loved it so much the first time, that a group of 20+ family members agreed to return 4 years later. The cottages themselves were comfortable and inviting, blending the charm of a beach vacation in Costa Rica with modern comfort. I love swimming in the warm ocean waves of Costa Rica, but their salt water pool was a gathering spot for the family. The stretch of beach that Encantada calls home is perfectly positioned so that we could witness both the sunrise and sunset casting their glow over the ocean each day. The daily sunsets really captured the pura vida vibe you find in Costa Rica. Our days were filled with adventure, thanks to thoughtful recommendations and planning. If you choose to rent a car, the roads between San Jose and Esterillos are easy to navigate. This is more than a hotel on the beach. It is a restorative place of connection, comfort, and care. This time we stayed in the Ocean Front Villa and our experience was fantastic again. We live in Costa Rica and go to the beach every few months. We have a couple of places that we visit on the Caribbean side and Encantada is now our go to establishment on the west coast. We are heading to the Caribbean coast in September and have already booked a return visit to Encantada in May of 2026. See you then!!!

• John (6/5): - Beautiful location, friendly staff, and beach front property. The cottage is located in a much quieter town of Parrita, which is 1 hour north of Manuel Antonio NP and Quepos area. We loved how peaceful and away from the big tourists area this place is. There's a restaurant and bar in the property which is a nice option. Breakfast is included which a good plus. The pool is heated and a pretty good size for lap swim. We really liked this hotel but there are two negative factors and that's why i rated it a 3 star. First, there's a strong musty smell in our cabin. It's the type of smell that permeates that whole room and it stuck to our luggage and all our clothing materials even after washing them. I believe the smell is coming from the humidity, rain, and all the moisture from the ocean. It's simply stuck in the old wood structure and no amount of air freshener can cover it. The other issue we had are the dogs in the area. They tend to bark and howl past midnight and can be quite disturbing. i suffer from insomnia and being woken up in the middle of the night pretty much kills my whole sleep cycle. We ended up leaving much earlier than we had booked. Overall, our cabin was clean but it could use a lot of TLC and maintenance. The fridge in our room was very small, old, and had rusty grate. The furniture were quite old.
• KimCC (6/5): Sadly disappointed - After seeing all the reviews & beautiful website I had high hopes for our stay at Encantada. This was our final stop in Costa Rica and sixth hotel and sadly was the worst. I think it has the potential of being an amazing gem however it fell short in many aspects. And I think there is a disconnect between what was presented online and what it is like in real life. Firstly, although the location is amazing ad peaceful our experience was not as on the first night the neighbours dogs barked & howled the entire night so no sleep! We were in Room 6 which apparently is the worst for this. The hotel know about the issue but don't seem to be able to do much. The second night they started barking but then we had heavy rain so luckily they stopped and the third night there was no barking thankfully however there were very noisy guests in the pool till late - the pool is open 24 hours. So unfortunately our experience was not peaceful. The breakfast was ok but definitely let down by the coffee, which i found undrinkable - again disappointing for Costa Rica. And the juice is also watered down & not very tasty. My mother requested a hairdyer and was given one that was very dirty & had packing tape over the electrical wires - needless to say we didn't risk using it! Positives: - gorgeous location - lovely soft sheets - great activities can be arranged through the hotel Negatives: - needs some TLC - noisy & bothersome dogs - possibly noisy if other guests aren't mindful as the rooms & pool are very close This could be an amazing property but I think it is in need of attention.
• B3817WGmarcb (10/5): Amazing staff, amazing rooms, amazing experience - Hidden Gem!! There are not enough great things I can say about this place. We went for my wife’s birthday and our anniversary and booked a lot of tours all through the hotel, which were some of the most unforgettable experiences ever. The entire staff goes out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect and genuinely get to know you. It’s a small resort so you get a feeling of privacy and since it is on a very uncrowded beach you feel like you’re in your own little paradise. I came during the rainy season but there was very little rain, just a few afternoon showers. Very few tourist during this time. Their poolside cabins are amazing! This is a must stay for Costa Rica.

They also loved the 2 resident cats on the property. Our meals were some of the best we've had in Costa Rica, especially the whole fried red snapper at dinner time. Would definitely come back!
• katherinebG7941AG (10/5): Special Spot - Amazing Gem of a Place! - Our stay last week at Encantada was truly an enchanted and magical experience. Our family of four had an amazing time. The staff are so kind and helpful and the grounds are beautiful and the cabinas (cottages) are lovely. Beds super comfy. Kids liked the spiral staircase to the loft and we all enjoyed the AC and included breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and juice. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat, this is the place. We looked for a long time but are so glad to have found something off the beaten trail (not in a high rise / busy resort) that was still helpful in booking tours/guides/rental car/airport shuttle. They really answered all our many questions and gave us great suggestions as this was our first time to Costa Rica. Being steps from the ocean and their open air restaurant (with friendly cat visits) and all the cottages surrounding a lovely pool was so great. And again... the staff were soooo awesome - top notch! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The attached restaurant is also fantastic and all the staff very friendly and helpful. Sunset on the beach is magical - it stretches on for miles with only jungle, sky, and ocean in sight. We made a quick drive down to manual Antonio for the day and were very happy we decided to stay at Encantada rather than the busy tourist zone surrounding the national park.

• Scouter_T (10/5): Quiet, Secluded, and Enjoyable - We just returned from a five-night stay at Encantada. We had two rooms, one for my wife and myself and one for my wife’s daughter and family. This was our first visit, and it exceeded our expectations. We live in Costa Rica and enjoy a few nights away home three or four times a year. We have a favorite place to stay on the Caribbean side and after visiting half a dozen places on the Pacific side we will now enjoy Encantada as our favorite on the Pacific coast. Parking is somewhat limited but if you get within the compound, it is secure, safe, and guarded. The rooms and linens were very clean, and the beds comfortable. The air conditioning in both units worked well. The grounds and the pool area are well kept and clean all the time. Private beach access is super and despite it being Holy Week in Costa Rica, the beach was private. The food was good but could do with a bit more diversity. All the staff we met were pleasant and helpful, a big drawing point! My wife and I have already booked a return visit at the end of July and the beginning of August. Enjoyed this past visit and looking forward to the next. Thank you very much!

The staff is amazing, especially Diana and all the wait staff. We stayed in Cabina #4 and we loved our space. We enjoyed the well cooked meals and the morning coffee at the beautiful open air restaurant. We felt it was a good value compared to the adjacent hotel restaurant (La Alma) We enjoyed the warm, sparkling swimming pool and the immaculate maintenance of the gardens and the grounds. Our room was perfect for two people...bedding was comfortable and luxurious. The room would have been too small for more than one couple and possibly a child in the loft above. The loft was accessed by steep spiral staircase and we never went there. A/C worked well and kept us comfortable day and night. Yoga classes for $15 were offered daily, and the leader was wonderful and accommodating of all levels. Very spiritual and relaxing. Disliked · This cabin is adjacent to the restaurant and office. It was noisy with conversations from staff sometimes, especially early mornings and late at closing time. The adjacent property to the north had 2 dogs which would howl and bark. Several guests commented to us that they were in rooms adjacent to the property and they were very disturbed. We could hear the dogs every day, but were further away. Those dogs really are a negative issue with this hotel. Be sure you get a room as far from the residence as possible. Owners would take the dogs for walks on the beach, and the dogs would bark until they got to go for their walks, and often during the day, not at night.
• DSK2222 (10/5): Memorable Family Trip - Every other Christmas, we choose a destination for a multi-generational family get together . In 2023, we had grown to 9 adults and 9 children ranging in age from 6 to 18 yrs. We were originally seeking an 8 bedroom house with a chef but discovered Encantada Ocean Cottages on VRBO and it was an appealing alternative. The trip exceeded our expectations. The setting is rustic and charming. The staff are cheerful and very accommodating. There were always several options for our meals and the food was delicious. Having a beautifully landscaped pool as well as a private, uncrowded beach was ideal. We especially enjoyed the range of activities and took advantage of Tiffany’s help in organizing our itinerary. The surf instructor was great and managed to get everyone up by the end of our first lesson. Our favourite activity was the hike to the waterfall which included jumping from the ledge and sliding down the rock face into the pool. Although we were worried that there wouldn’t be a place to congregate as a full group and there wouldn’t be enough to entertain us in the evenings, this wasn’t the case. Tiffany organized a movie night with popcorn and a bonfire to make s’mores. We were very appreciative of her extra efforts on our behalf and we came away with great memories!
• amytN2478MB (8/5): Quiet, lovely resort. - A beautiful place to relax and enjoy. The rooms were large, comfortable and very well stocked with a fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle and fresh coffee. The staff is excellent, helpful and friendly. A lovely pool with comfortable chairs around it. The restaurant provided a delicious included breakfast and great lunch and dinner options. Encantada is not in a town so if you like to be able to walk around a town easily, this is not the place for you. The other limit is that the beach gets pretty rough waves, so isn’t great for swimming, but is fine for wading. And if you’re a surfer, it’s awesome!
• Nomad00086167307 (10/5): Come for the beach, stay for the staff - This place is such an incredible respite from the hustle and bustle of life in the big city. We’ve just returned from spending a week. Everything was so clean and well maintained, with careful updates that made for beautiful photos while not losing charm by modernizing too much. The pic it appears I did forget to take was of the rooms. Rooms were cool. Decent size with a comfortable bed and nice bath products. We had a good mix of onsite yoga, massages, and pool time blended with concierge scheduled off-site trips like going to ride ATVs through the countryside and a boat tour of the mangroves. So much fun! The key to this place though is the staff. All week, the chef made delicious food. The bartender’s drinks were all refreshing and balanced. And the other staff were so just so smiley and friendly, remembering our names all week and checking up on us without being intrusive. Bottom line- this place is amazing. The pictures really do do it justice. We were impressed enough to definitely come again. Which I, for one, never really do. There’s a big whole world out there to see. Put this place on your list.
• Ritchy41 (8/5): Great little resort! - We stayed twice during our trip to Costa Rica. Very nice and small property. We stayed in Cabina 2 which had very comfortable beds, small bath room, airco and fan. The breakfast options were ok and mainly veggie based. We had one dinner at the resort which felt rushed, not having the wine we wanted so we decided to eat elsewhere and luckily their are plenty of options around. The beach was great, the grounds as well and the pool relaxing. Only the smoke from burning stuff was annoying and sometimes a bit too much. So overall we would for sure recommend Encantada and we had a very pleasant stay.

We upgraded to the beach front room when we got there and it was 100% worth it. The bed slept well and the sheets were amazing. I bought Turkish sheets once I got home. The breakfast was delicious every morning, and room service was in and out before we got back. We were there for our anniversary and the hotel spoiled us. I would recommend you go to dinner at their restaurant. Over all again, this was the best place we stayed and will be staying here again on future trips!

• Nate (10/5): Amazing Energy - This space is absolutely wonderful. We had an amazing time at this beachfront resort. We stayed in a poolside cabin. The bed was the most comfortable of my 4 different locations this trip. It was well appointed with extra pillows, speakers, lamps, outdoor sink and a close line. The AC worked great and was much needed. We enjoyed the salt water pool, the drop in yoga sessions lasting 1.5 hrs and all of the ocean front seating/lounging options. Their chef is amazing! All of the food was top notch, no matter what time of day. Even if you are not a guest here, I would take the time to eat at this restaurant. They have live music on Thursdays from 4-6 with a discounted happy hour. Some local artists set up the wares to shop as well. Communication was excellent both pre-stay and during. They were extremely helpful with directing and assisting us to local tours and setting up our own private driver, Andrea. The black sand beach is beautiful, not crowed and stretches forever. Sunset is a must. During the day that sand is blistering hot, wear flops or run for the water line. Tiffany works really hard to ensure her guests are comfortable, have their needs met, all while directing the beehive of cleanliness and service. Everyone's energy here is very special. They feel like a lovely family and not just staff working a job, EVERYONE! I would recommend this space to anyone, especially those not interested in the hubbub of Jaco. This space is created with love to share with others. Yessss
• 301havenh (10/5): Perfect Yoga Retreat Location! - Pulling up to the gates at Encantada we knew this would be a magical experience! This is our second time hosting a yoga retreat in Costa Rica and Encantada was an incredibly relaxed and easy experience. The food was great, the staff is super friendly and attentive, and the weather was perfect in the beginning of April. The cabinas are exactly as pictured and the entire space is located right on the beach, giving our large group of people enough space to be solo or hang out in smaller groups. We loved the privacy of the space and the beach and would highly recommend hosting a retreat here!

There is a place to rinse clothing and hang them up behind each cabin and a comfortable lounge bed in front to chill around the pool. The restaurant is so pretty and Thursday night life music and happy hour on the beach were great fun. Its fantastic for everyone who wants to get up early and go to bed early (great for us!). You can easily connect with others staying there or keep to yourself. It's never loud (except for the neighbors dogs sometimes) and the water pressure in the room showers is very low, but the outdoor showers are super. The food is good and there is coffee ready at 6am for anyone wanting to watch the sunrise. Definitely would go back!

The yoga classes with Christina really stood out as the highlight of the trip, but we also enjoyed surf lessons with the local surf instructor. The only downside (or upside, depending on your perspective) was that WiFi did not reach inside our villa. This place was perfect!!!
• Craig (10/5): - I was blown away by everything at Encantada Ocean Cottages. The rooms were large and cleaned every day, the food was incredible and the included breakfasts were better than I could have imagined. The location and overall property has everything you could possible want and is extremely well kept. My absolute favorite part however, was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and happy to help or just chat at any time - and I mean everyone. From the groundskeeper Ruje, to the surf instructors Alfredo, Anthony, and Christopher, to the chef Gerald and his staff, to the yoga instructor Christina, the security guard Victor and the day time managers Shirley and Ricky, the owners Tiffany and her husband, and the bar tenders/hosts/waiters/doers of everything Daniel and Roger - my hats off to everyone working at this fine establishment. They made my first trip to Costa Rica unbelievable and I will return to just stay at these cottages with these great people. You will not regret your stay at Encantada.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location for day trips up and down the coast, the quiet beach right out the door and a great staff. The Thursday night happy hour with the live band was a nice touch. The availability of surf and boogie boards as well as bicycles for rent right on sight is very convenient.
• DJ (10/5): - This place is the perfect getaway - small, quaint, great pool & yoga - excellent food in the local speciality restaurant. The beach goes on forever & is great for new and experienced surfers. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

• Isabel (10/5): - Wow! What a special place. We had the most amazing time at Encantada Ocean Cottages. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the garden and pool is super well maintained, the food is delicious and the staff super helpful, polite and always with a smile on their faces. We felt at home and we hope to come back soon again. Thank you Encantada for having us.
• Jessie (10/5): A piece of paradise - This was a beautiful, relaxing property. You could easily stay here without needing to go anywhere else. My 10 and 13 year old daughters loved it, as did my husband and I. We would definitely go back!
• Logan (10/5): Cozy place, with the perfect beach access. - Encantada is a great little place for a cozy, private, or romantic getaway. They have a great little cottages to stay in, and a small pool that is open 24/7. Everything was kept very clean, and the included breakfast was delicious; with several different options. The restaurant there doesn't have a plethora of options, but the meals we ate there were delicious and filling. The staff was all very friendly and gave great advice for trips to do, calling taxi's, and getting us deals for all of that. The cottages we're a little smaller than what I expected, and the bathrooms a little tight. But if you don't mind the close quarters, they work great! For whatever reason our hot shower didn't work, but I'm sure they would have fixed it right away had we mentioned it to them. If I ever make it back to Costa Rica, I would love to stay at this cottages again!
• Javiet (8/5): Relax secluded 7 cabanas only beach front - Relax and nice secluded 7 cabanas cottage by the ocean. You have to drive an unpaved road to get to this location. Cabanas are nice but metal roof gets very hot during the day and ours was leaking when raining. All were friendly staff but the managar never said hello or nothing to us. Overall good tropical location worth for a low price.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Best place in Costa Rica to relax by the Ocean - We had a fantastic stay at Encantada. The staff is amazing!!! Kate, Adam, Daniel and the rest of the crew were so friendly, nice and helpful. The rooms were comfy and right on the beach. You can walk the beach for miles. The food was WONDERFUL!!! Try the banana pancakes! The reviews that were not very positive on Tripadvisor are from years ago and I believe with a different owner. We stayed at 6 different hotels during our visit to Costa Rica because we wanted to experience the entire country. Encantada was by far our favorite place to stay. It is not close to many restaurants or nightlife. It is a 20 min cab ride to Manual Antonio Park - which is really fun and you see lots of monkeys, sloths, and they have a beach to swim in. It is also a short cab ride into Jaco, the "big city" of the area if yo want nightlife. Overall, if you are looking for a relaxing, clean, local kind of place to chill, do some yoga, and enjoy the beach this is the place.
• Crystal (10/5): Amazing beach front hotel - This place is a gem! It's tucked away about 30 min from Jaco on a private beach. The place is beautiful. The cottages have some of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on and are absolutely adorable. The staff is beyond amazing. Everyone is extremely friendly and willing to help. One day we wanted coconuts and the surf instructor Roger climbed up a tree to get us some. We had dinner there our last night and it was delicious and breakfast every morning. They would have our table set ready for us. If I could give this place a 10 I would. If you're traveling to relax and disconnect this is the place. Can't wait to go back.

• Karolyn (10/5): Perfect Quiet Beach Get Away!! - Excellent little "boutique " hotel on the beach. SO, SO relaxing: excellent staff, wonderful food, very comfortable and tastefully decorated cottages, great yoga and perfect beach. If you need some relaxing down time, it is the ideal place to hide out. We were very content just parking the car and staying put!! Thank you, we shall return - great find!!!
• david (10/5): Peaceful getaway. - Very nice, quiet retreat. Cabins were quaint but sufficient. Pool was excellent. Grounds were in excellent shape. Menu was a little limited but everything was very tasty. The beach was fantastic! Long and flat with no rocks, fine sand, and almost nobody for miles! The surf was quite strong so it is more of a surfing beach than a swimming beach but for strong swimmers, it is excellent for both. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a quiet, retreat type getaway, this is definitely the place! Easy access to both Jaco and Quepos if you need the night life but we were looking to get away.
