Starting with Jo who was managing reception with a welcoming smile and gave us a room upgrade. All the staff were so helpful and attentive. The food was excellent for dinner with a great menu. Breakfast was also excellent. The room decor was superb with Farrow & Ball paint and lovely tiled floor and big bath/walk in shower. I would recommend the rooms by the top car park.

The service at breakfast on Monday and Tuesday morning was excellent, but during on dinner on Sunday it was extremely slow (This may be as a result of the banks holiday, but it didn't appear that busy). Despite this, everyone was pleasant and helpful and the rooms were comfortable. Overall a lovely experience and would definitely visit again.

Amazing breakfast.
Amazing staff.
- ANDREW (10/5): - We had an excellent stay at the Plume of Feathers. We stayed in the standard room which was clean comfortable with excellent facilities and lovely decor which surpassed expectations. The food was really good although we did have a slight hitch with our order which was very quickly rectified and when it arrived was truly worth the wait. We would definitely recommend this hotel and plan to stay there again this summer.
- Kelly (10/5): - From the moment we arrived the staff made you feel so welcome, they really couldnt do enough for us!
The room was stunning, beautifully decorated and so clean.
The bar was lovely offering a good range of drinks.
The restaurant was lovely too, my husband said it was the best brekfast hes ever had!!
- Andrew (10/5): As good as ever - Having stayed a few times before, after Covid enforced a break from travel, it was the first booking I made.
Staff, accommodation and food were excellent. I'm pleased that they have managed to keep to the same standard, and look forward to my next stay.
- P (8/5): Over charged - Fantastic accommodation food ok but had better
Disappointed we paid £60.01 MORE by booking through hotel. Com
Certainly wont get caught again
Bookers beware
- Stephen (10/5): Expected a pub with rooms, this is so much more! - Had an amazing stay here, totally exceeded expectations, food was lovely and excellent breakfast. Room was very spacious and good Wi-Fi even though my room was the furthest from the main building. Highly recommend.
- Ian (10/5): - Lovely place with very comfortable rooms and excellent food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Exceptional! - Such attention to detail. Fresh coffee, hot chocolate and even an XBox in the room to keep us entertained while it was pouring with rain! The staff so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Very cosy stay. Accommodation top quality.
- Ai Pheng (10/5): Brilliant - We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. It's got a good style. It feels cosy and light, staff were all very friendly. Food was great. The room was spacious and comfortable, love the shower too. We have a hybrid car and was happy there's a charging point for it too, plus there's more than sufficient parking space. We're looking forward to be back for another stay, hopefully soon.
- Kathryn (10/5): I’ll be back - Beautiful hotel, the room was stunning, very luxurious and homely too. I dined in the restaurant and the food was delightful, I’d definitely visit again.
- Andrew (10/5): - The room we stayed in was first class and the bathroom was about the best I’ve ever used in a hotel.
The rooms are set in grounds near to the main hotel, they are very private and quite.
The food is top class, breakfast freshly prepared and every evening meal we had was top class
- Karen (10/5): - Lovely, friendly place to stay, eat & drink. The room was great, the food was fantastic & the dog was made very welcome. Great place to use as a base to visit so many different places across Cornwall
- Verified traveler (10/5): Service with a smile - Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. Very nice food. Service a little slow but any small issues put right with a smile. Staff eager to make our stay enjoyable.
We arrived early and they did their best to get rooms ready for us. So appreciated after a long journey. Would stay again.
- T (8/5): Good new and fresh - A very good room top end pricing but lives up to price tag. I would have expected a fridge for this level of hotel.
- Rebecca (8/5): Impressed with this hotel - Amazing hotel and great service. The restaurant were also fantastic and very accomodating when we had a big table for a celebration and also when we were late for a following booking due to traffic. The only slight issue was the plug didn't work in the bath, which we only notice on our final evening so couldn't use the bath, which was a shame. Apart from that a lovely venue!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely size rooms and good food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very well maintained. Up to date. Very popular. I would guess very consistent. Book with confidence if you either want a perfect stop over or a base to visit lots of different parts of Cornwall.
- Raymond (10/5): Well done everyone, thank you - The staff made us feel very welcome, the food was excellent, accommodation was 5 star.
We have booked to come back next year with our family.

- B (10/5): Excellent in all areas - Lovely rooms, peaceful setting and the food was amazing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in one of the rooms and were over the moon with the huge kingsize bed and amazing bathroom. The bath was really deep and luxurious and the power shower fantastic.
The bar area in the pub was both cosy and still well spaced out and relaxing to be in.
The conservatory restaurant was really bright, sunny and airy. Dinner was outstanding with lots of choice for all different diets ( Veggie, Vegan.GF etc). Everything was delicious!! Breakfast was a treat with really fresh berries and bread and cooked breakfast of local sausages etc. ALL the staff were really attentive and genuinely happy, pleasant and engaging. It was a real treat for us. Thank you all
- Ravishankar (10/5): Excellent and highly recommend - Great food and accommodation. Max an hour to most attractions in Cornwall. And free electric car charger too. Highly recommend if anyone planning to visit Cornwall. Staff were very friendly, both in the restaurant and those who serviced our accommodation. Gives a feel of staying in a resort in Europe.
- Nicholas (2/5): Misleading website - Website was misleading that we had a bath in the room on arrival we did so we didn’t stay and expensive for what it is
- Alastair (10/5): - First work trip after Lockdown2. Set a high benchmark for future trips with this one! I can’t make a single suggestion on improvements at all.
Coming to Cornwall? Stay here..
- Chris (10/5): A**** Absolutely lovely place - What an absolutely beautiful place, perfect hub for travelling around with a really high quality hotel.
Food was lovely and staff very friendly, loads of room and space in the property
- MICHELLE (8/5): Good location to get around. - Good central point to travel to locations, however if you want a coastal walk or walk in the countryside this is not for you.
- Sarah (10/5): 10/10 - Super spacious room, beautiful interior decor with light neutral materials made for a very relaxed stay.
Friendly and very polite staff made me feel comfortable while dining alone, delicious meal serviced quickly. Overall 10/10 for all elements of my stay, will definitely return.

I just found the staff not very pleasant and the food was average
- Diane (10/5): Top class - Our second stay here staff always friendly and helpful
Very clean and to a high standard
Food was excellent
Would recommend
- Maheen (10/5): Best hotel I’ve stayed at - Don’t know where to start! First our booking was incorrect, neither fault of ours or the hotel, just a glitch on the Hotels.com side of things and I received a phone call very quickly after booking and was reassured my booking won’t be cancelled and will still be accommodated for the two nights I had booked. Loved this! Secondly, the location of this hotel is great, we’re Newquay lovers and on a busy road it was still only a scenic 20 minutes away so I couldn’t complain or the other half, in fact we decided to rebook again for next year because we were quite happy to book slightly further outside of Newquay. And thirdly coming to our second night we were moved to another room, the staff were very polite and friendly, the lovely lady on reception guided us to our rooms on both occasions and was very pleasant. A very quiet and peaceful location. The rooms are bloody amazing for the price! I think we will be making our annual trip to Cornwall and staying here from now on!
- Kenneth (10/5): Highly recommend - highly recommend, lovely staff, lovely rooms, beautiful food, all round excellent. 10/10
- Lee (10/5): - Lovely rooms, good location.
- Martin (10/5): just right Stay at the plume of feathers - Rooms are amazing although standard rooms described as having bath tub on hotels.com but they don’t only the luxury rooms have a bath the rooms were all full so no chance of upgrade we were offered breakfast as an alternative every day which was superb
The food in the pub / restaurant was excellent
Large variety and well presented
Very relaxed friendly atmosphere great staff we will definitely return.
- Pam (8/5): - Beautiful quite room, Nice pub can eat in conservatory or in pub area, preferred the traditional area , The conservatory area seemed very cold and bare. Breakfast choice was very nice had a evening meal which was enjoyable. Parking facilities great.
