• LEANNE WHITE (8/5): Beach stay 2026 - I loved being so close to the beach and restaurants that we walked everywhere. The room was very tidy and accessible to enter it was great to see the view and the staff gave us a warm welcome. The reception staff member on Tuesday was amazing, she answered any question I asked. The other staff ie the cleaning crew, who I met while there were bright and energetic. The noise but to be fair, they were improving a unit, we were given a gift voucher to the surf club, and a mini champagne, they also offered a room away from the reno of the unit and they had no control over someone tripping the fire alarm (which the staff were very much in control of the situation making sure everyone had evacuated the building. They came up and made contact with us to ensure we knew what was going on)

Tv unit was a hole in the wall between livingroom and bedroom, which had to be manually shifted. Tv remote waa so old, buttons kept getring sruck. No dryer where there once use to be and shower door was broken. Not what I was expecting for thw price paid.

• michelle (10/5): We had a very comfortable stay , relaxing and close to everything we wanted to do we will come again - The location is amazing close walking distance to the Wharf and main shopping strip and surf club , beaches Undercover secure parking was great The bed was very comfortable Very secure after hours having to swipe in and out of the doors from the outside made us feel very safe No air con in the bedroom , however the lounge / living room had aircon and if you left bedroom Door open and fans on it was cool but would be better if the bedroom did have a seperate aircon especially in the hot summer months Having a balcony was great aswell

Some of the rooms need a bit of a refresh to make this the best place to stay. Bit of noise from delivery trucks in the laneway but nothing too bad.

• Hofski (7/5): Sandcastles stay could have been better - Apartment itself was good , the views were great and the location was perfect 1st room I checked into was very dated and had no view so I asked to be moved. The next room was much better but there was a strong smell like mould. Maintenance did clean the filters but unfortumately the smell persisted from either the drains or the terrace and this detracted from my overall experience.

Though the room was extremely tidy, the only disappointment was that the floor was gritty and had not been cleaned properly. An oversight, I'm sure, as the whole apartment was amazing.

Our room was in need of a renovation. Whilst it was clean and comfortable it was very old. The water pressure was non existent. We were in the ‘budget’ roof top apartment (it was definitely budget) yet the price we paid was not budget which indicated it should have been of a higher standard than it was. We could have had a much nicer apartment with a short walk to the beach for the price.

• KARL02 (3/5): Not recommend this place, - Room was clean. My review, I absolutely do not recommend this place. It was nothing like the accommodation we reserved and looked forward to for over six months. We received many threatening emails, warning us that even the smallest mistake would result in extra charges. Because of this, during our stay we didn’t even use the trash bin or a single cup. There was no body wash in the bathroom, and the soap bar was left wet at the bottom with foam still on it. We carefully collected all our trash in one plastic bag and slept with it placed above our heads. At checkout, we were told that guests must clean everything themselves and take out the trash. Hot water was time-limited, and if you used any plates, they had to be washed and put back exactly where they were. The fire alarm was said to be very sensitive, so we couldn’t even toast a single slice of bread. From check-in to check-out, we kept the blinds closed the entire time because about 100 units across from us were directly facing our room, watching us. It was extremely uncomfortable and frightening. Yes, there is an ocean view, but I recommend keeping your expectations realistic and relying more on the photos shown rather than hoping you’ll “get lucky” with the view. For reference, we paid almost $1,000 for two nights.
