Guest Reviews
- Kenneth J (6/5): - The shower floor was too slippery that it was dangerous. My wife and I chose not to take showers because we couldn’t risk slipping and falling. Showers need to have a grippy surface installed to keep them safe. Other than that, everything seemed to be just fine.
- Billy (8/5): - Very good price
- Yaning (10/5): - The room is cozy and clean.
- James (2/5): - Two trash cans La is the view
- Heather (10/5): Amazing stay! - Close to Yellowstone, close to shopping, but out of the way enough to not be in the hustle of things. Owners were amazing and so nice. Bed was comfortable and room had all the amenities you could need. Ample parking. Loved staying here and will be back.
- Sherry (8/5): - Clean friendly quiet good size room near the park
- David (10/5): - Great place to stay for the value. Hostess was very friendly. It was basic, but had everything you needed - microwave, refrigerator, dish television, comfortable bed, tub/shower combo, etc., and only several blocks from the west entrance to the park.
- Dennis (10/5): - Let's face it the building is getting old but that said the room was very clean. Area was very quiet at night and rooms seemed well insolated for sound. Perhaps the best was the owner. Lisa. She was a wealth of knowledge on where to eat places to go. She certainly made us feel welcomed.
I would definitely recommend this hotel when visiting Yellowstone.
- Steven (10/5): - Very nice stay. Outside, this motel doesn't look like much, but the rooms are large, clean, and well appointed. Owners are friendly and welcoming and accessable for anything you need. Located near the edge of town, which keeps the traffic and noise light. Highly recommend for your Yellowstone stay.
- Jianfei (8/5): - Close to the Yellowstone National Park, very convenient. Old motel, but decent enough. We like contactless check-in.
- Megan (10/5): - We loved this stay! It was close to town with a ton of shops and restaurants. The owners were very nice and friendly.
- EGE (10/5): -
- Catherine (8/5): - The host was absolutely delightful
- Navikanth Reddy (10/5): Best in West Yellowstone - Jenn was really nice.
Gem near west Yellowstone.
- Carol (8/5): - My only concern was the daylight seen clear around the door the room. West Yellowstone can get cold and that wouldn’t have kept any sort of heat in; and of course bugs.
- Alexa (8/5): - Nice place to stay while visiting Yellowstone National Park.
- James (10/5): - Very nice people. Basic place. Just what I was looking for
- Eric (10/5): - This place was awesome the staff were super nice and the room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable and it was in a great location. Would definitely stay again
- David (8/5): - Excellent location and very friendly owners! My only wish is that they had an ice machine on site but they would give me a small zip lock bag every day.
- Judith (10/5): - Husband and wife owners were wonderful. Best breakfast place right across the street. Quite. Clean. Great family owned small business.
- Sheryl (8/5): - The bed was comfortable, The tub did not drain well. The owners were very helpful. Very close to West Yellowstone entrance.
Good food in West yellowstone is hard to find.
- Catherine (8/5): - Reasonably priced compared to others.
- Susan (6/5): - The property owners/managers Jeff & Lisa were delightful people who gave us their phone number, got us ice, and were kind in their treatment. I was disappointed with the property and cleaning service, especially since I paid prime rate for the summer--way too high for a town outside the Park, like West Yellowstone, but maybe that's to be expected. West Yellowstone is like a boom-town--all small hotels, restaurants, and souvenir shops, most shops looking out-of-date or run-down. But it's definitely improving; I think the demand is just higher than it can renew/reinvent itself. The Holiday Hotel is one of the nicer small hotels, but it's not comparative if you're used to staying at a Hampton Inn, for example (more like a Super 8). We received new towels when we asked for them (cleaning staff kept forgetting to show up), but our trash was not emptied daily, and our sheets were never changed or our bed made (and we stayed there 4 nights). It didn't seem like anyone came in to clean the bathrooms or tidy up. This is probably normal for small hotels, but it surprised me, especially given the cost to stay there. West Yellowstone is far from plush, but the town is right outside the park on the east, and the Gallatin National Forest is on the west (which is gorgeous). Great trails. All the business owners we encountered in town were kind and welcoming, besides being helpful. Beautiful sunsets and easily-walkable town. Some good restaurants--definitely do your research on that.
- Gordon (10/5): - Very comfortable space. Great with the kitchenette.
- Anna (10/5): - Great experience at this Motel, check in and out process very easy. Room was good size for the 2 night stay and place to rest after the Yellowstone park. Close to everything
- Kristi (8/5): - The owners were very nice. The room was really clean but the carpet was ok but felt like it should be replaced with the same flooring in the bathroom. I would stay there again though.
- Marvin (8/5): - It was just ok
- Sarah (10/5): - Cozy room, great location right outside of the West Entrance, reasonably priced
- Vanessa (10/5): - Minutes from Yellowstone!! Safe. Quiet. Blocks from shopping/dining venues. Clean. Comfortable.
- Jon (10/5): I would return - This is a family owned property. The family members that I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. Jeff gave us some good tips for visiting Yellowstone. He also directed us to several good restaurants. The location is was perfect for us - close enough to the main business area to walk, and far enough away to be a quite location.
- Vicki (10/5): - First let me start by saying THANK YOU JEFF!. What a great place to stay. Keeping in mind you’re in Montana to be in the park. This place is the perfect place to relax. Everything great is a walk away. The room offers the amenities of home. And oh my gosh the welcomeness of the owners. Just sit back and relax, your on vacation.
- Dorri (10/5): - Room was clean and comfy. Very convenient to the West Yellowstone entrance. Super happy with our stay.
- Karl (10/5): - Great Ma & Pa hotel. Looked a bit old at first glance. But we were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and cabin charm. This hotel perfectly complimented the Yellowstone experience.
- Calvin (10/5): - Everything good
- Yong (8/5): - Beware of the additional fee that Expedia or Vrbo may charge additionally after you pressed the Confirmation button. I was charged an additional fee after I received You’re all set email.
- Aditya (8/5): - Great host, quiet place. Convenient. Cheap
- Colet (10/5): - The owners were fabulous! So much info to share with us.
- Pamela (8/5): - Decent room super close to NP entrance. Fridge and microwave helpful for breakfast which is not provided. Owner very nice at checkin. Bed and bathroom very good, area map provided.
- Robert (10/5): - Comfortable and quiet and close to everything
- Dovey (10/5): - This is an older place, but very clean with comfortable beds. The woman who checked us in was helpful and thoughtful. She gave us information about the area and nearby businesses.
Overall a great stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Felt safe staying there as a young solo traveling female. The owner was very friendly and its like five minutes away from the west yellowstone entrance.
- Timothy (10/5): Great Welcome Atmosphere - Nice hotel with a clean room and comfy bed. What makes it a really nice place is the owners. They are both friendly and make you feel at home and provide a very welcome atmosphere.
- Joanne (8/5): - Had a great one night stay.
- Jessica (8/5): - Room is comfortable and clean, nice stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Reasonably priced peaceful stay near Yellowstone - Nice updates and amenities, reasonably priced and very close to Yellowstone entrance. Close to local watering holes and eateries but not on noisy main tourist streets.
- John (10/5): - The room we stayed in was recently updated and was clean and comfortable. It was also pretty good sized with a kitchenette. The owner was awesome. He even got up early to scrape the snow and ice off of the customers cars after a snow storm. I would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Rest well - Motel room was clean, bed comfy and owner very friendly. The only issue that we had was the bathroom was VERY small. Not a big deal, it was just that there wasn't a spot to put your toiletries.
The kitchenette had a hot plate, small fridge, microwave and coffee pot and basic essentials for cooking and eating .
It suited our needs...a lace to get a comfortable sleep, shower and a bite to eat , plus very close to the west entrance of Yellowstone Park.
- Renee (10/5): - We loved our stay!
- Thomas (10/5): - everything was great except for the bathroom. This needs to be updated from the1950s. Sink and shower were too small. There is room to make the shower much larger or install a bath/shower. There is no place to hang things in the bathroom. There is no room for items around the sink. It was very nostalgic as I grew up in a bath like this in 1950s and 60s but need more in the 21st Century.
- Donna (6/5): - It’s on the older side and as some people commented noisy. We were only there to sleep so it was fine by us.
- Stephanie (8/5): - Friendly staff, fast and clean. Overall good value.
- Debrah (10/5): - Loved the kitchenette. Slept well here. Close to the park entrance.
- Matthaeus (10/5): - Cute motel, amazing hosts and overall great for a short stay in west Yellowstone. It’s not exactly close to Main Street but the town is small and the proximity to the national park make up for it
- Joseph (10/5): - Property was fine but the town wasn’t that charming. It felt like it had evolved with speed and greed. We met Jeff just before we left, and he was delightful. Wish we’d had more time with him, as his stories gave the town more personality.
I just don’t relate to huge numbers of tourists, so take my reactions with a grain of salt.
- Susan (10/5): - Excellent place to stay. So clean and tidy with plenty of amenities close by. The owner, Lisa made us feel very welcome and we would certainly stay again. It’s a very close proximity to the Yellowstone National Park, literally five minutes. Thank you for our stay
- pearl joy (6/5): - I have complain the shower is too small and the water when you open it splashes outside because it too small. And the step going to kitchen is not safe especially for kids even adult.
- Bruce (4/5): - Kitchen tripping hazard - step up. Entry door tripping , floor a/c unit tube to outside dryer hose - windows wouldnt lock because of it . Portable heaters around the room . Stairs going up to room outside various heights sizes tripping
- Kathy (8/5): - Although the rooms are modest, the cleanliness, personal attention from the owners, walking distance from all things West Yellowstone and convenience of a roomy kitchenette elevate this motel in our travels to definitely will stay there again!!!!
- Xiaolei (8/5): - Nice small motel.
- Magdalene (10/5): - Very clean room, easy parking, friendly and wonderful owner that was very informative about the area and gave good dining suggestions and local places to check out.
- Tim (10/5): - Unit above was noisy
- Andrew (6/5): - The room was clean and tidy
We only had dining chair and were unable to use the air-conditioning unit at night
The owners were very helpful and gave us advice on the best way to see yellowstone
- Alex (10/5): - We had a great stay at Holiday Motel and the staff was very friendly. Would stay again and recommend to others.
- lily (8/5): - Room was clean with a comfy bed, microwave, and small refrigerator. Water takes awhile to heat up. Walls are a little thin and you can hear your neighbor’s voices and TV. Location is convenient to downtown and Yellowstone National Park. Rates are reasonable.
Owner Lisa was very friendly and gave us a good 3-day Yellowstone itinerary.
We stayed 4 nights and did not get any housekeeping service. We texted for more bath gel and shampoo and they were replenished.
- Omar (10/5): - Highly recommended when visiting Yellowstone and setting your base. Lisa was really nice when we checked in. The property is well maintained and has all the basics needed. Very clean.
A bit aside compared with other places, but the town is really small and you probably will have a car, so not really a big deal. I would certainly book it again.
- Laken (10/5): - 10/10
- Melissa (10/5): - Excellent. More than expected..owners are wonderful ..
- Gavin (8/5): - Friendly management and the rooms were ok. We didn't have any major concerns. We had a short stay and the neighbors were quiet. The room has the basics (fridge, microwave, cable TV, etc.) and had a few minor issues (poor lighting, broken bath knob, AC not running enough with the thermostat set to 60 degrees even) but it's a great place to stay near Yellowstone.
- HAI BO (6/5): - not bad choice for a motel in West Entrance area
- Wenying (8/5): - Location is great for Yellowstone Park visit. Amenities are very basic. Space is good for 2 persons
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, friendly holster Jeff and Lisa. Easy self-parking, mini-fridge and microwave oven in the room. Would choose to stay here next time.
- Darcy and Marilyn (10/5): - The lovely folks who own Holiday Motel are clearly experienced hosts. We stayed 2 nights and the room included all we needed and more. We appreciated intuitive amenities like charging station, full-length mirror, well stocked kitchen, fridge with a separate freezer door. The bathroom was tiny but clean and well lit. The whole room was easy to control lighting to see whatever you need to do. We appreciated our stay.
- Riana (10/5): - As a single mother, I felt very safe here. Jeff was very accommodating and kind to us and will definitely stay here again!
- Chris (8/5): - Unique layouts for the space available.i would definitely stay there again.
- gary (8/5): - Cute clean and comfortable
- Cheyenne (10/5): - Jeff and Lisa (the owners) were so kind. Check-in was easy and Jeff had great recommendations for West Yellowstone. They are prompt with communication. The room was clean and comfortable. There wasn't a lot of noise. We would stay again.
- Kanaka V N Satish (8/5): - Decent place, run by good people.
- Rafal (10/5): - Great motel close to the West Yellowstone entrance. Would definitely recommend.
- Peter (8/5): - The room was clean and comfortable! The water pressure was good and hot. The hosts were friendly and the bed was firm. Would definitely return.
- Lorraine (10/5): - Super friendly at check-in. Everything was explained so we didn’t have to call and ask questions. Although the rooms are small, they are very comfortable with everything a guest could need. Well thought out in advance by the property owners. They’ve gone the extra mile for the comfort of the guests. Super easy location. Everything felt very safe. Would definitely recommend this location
- Jenna (10/5): - Amazing mom and pop hotel!! Would stay again any time!
- Jeana (10/5): - Very quaint. Owners were willing to go above & beyond
- Marilu (10/5): - Beautiful place, very nice people, very clean.
- Ignacio (10/5): Convenient stay close to Yellowstone - Our stay was wonderful!
The room was very spacious, and the managers were incredibly kind and helpful. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, and the location was perfect. It was just a 10-minute walk from the restaurants on the main street, and even closer to a fantastic brunch spot and a laundromat.
There was only one minor issue: we were told we would get extra towels and trash removal, but we had to ask again for those services. Despite this, it was a great stay overall.
- Rui (8/5): - It is a clean place to stay. Owner is very friendly and offers some good advice on travel and dining option. Parking is right outside the room. The bed mattress is saggy and needs to be updated. Overall an economical choice.
- Ericka (8/5): - The property was nice, clean and quaint. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was cute and clean, the bed was comfortable also. Our only issue was they ran out of propane so we had to wait till the evening for hot water, but he kept us updated.
- Monica (10/5): - stayed here to visit Yellowstone National Park. Kind staff, clean room (it seems it was renovated recently) and easy parking. Plus the Running Bear Pancake house is so close and walkable, we had breakfast every day there.
- Sandra T (8/5): - Never met the staff. However, they were responsive via text. There was what appeared to be a work/construction area at the end of the bldg we were in. The rooms were nice. My only complaint would be the antiquated H/AC unit. It was noisy. I try to remember we were in the mountains. :-) Overall it was a good choice.
- Roy (10/5): - Nice, clean, great location
- Susan (10/5): - The bed was so comfortable and everything was very clean. Not a fancy place but what it lacked in ambience was made up for in park knowledge. The proprietor there was once a tour guide and helped us get the most of what time we had there not to mention his personal involvement in the community.
- G Fred (8/5): - Comfortable and quiet while viewing yellowstone
- Azucena (10/5): Great, you feel like home! - The place is super clean and very comfortable. It has a littke kitchenette with the essentials for longer stays. Lisa and Jeff were very friendly. Love the place!
- James (10/5): Worked well for us - Like many of the properties in West Yellowstone, this one is a bit worn down. But it was clean, quiet (in mid-May) and away from the busier side of town but still walkable. Comfortable bed, great shower, small kitchen. Two minute drive to the West gate of Yellowstone. It is not fancy, but it worked fine for our 4-night stay, and Lisa was very nice and helpful with dining recommendations at check-in.
- Michael T. (8/5): - Hosts was very nice and accommodating .
- Trang (10/5): - Everything is fine except wifi is little bit slow
- jaxon (6/5): - Super clean, reasonable rates, management was friendly and helpful. Only complaint was that we were on a ground floor room and could literally hear every foot step above us. We were in town to see the park so really only used the room after seeing the park and eating out. However, The guests above us returned to their room around 11pm both nights and bathe a screaming young child before finally the noise would stop around 130. This is more of a negative review on sh**ty parents, but also there were many open rooms some of which had been renovated with better sound proofing(according to manager) so I would think those would be filled first and our booking was done 6 weeks prior. Would stay again but ask for an upstairs room that has been renovated.
- Susan (10/5): We loved it! - We loved this hotel. Our room had a kitchenette, which is a big money saver if you use it instead of eating out each day. There are two grocery stores in West Yellowstone so it’s super doable. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The linens and towels are fresh, clean, and updated. The building is older and hasn’t been remodeled recently, but we didn’t care. The price was right, the owner friendly and a great resource for park tips, and it’s not like we were there 24-7. We spent long days in the park, and you will too! If you are budget minded, would appreciate access to great park suggestions, and don’t care too much about a glam hotel, this is a good choice for you.
- Paul (10/5): - The property had been well cleaned before I arrived. However it had not been aired out and smelt strongly of disinfectant. Not a problem, but if a screen protected window had been left open, the smell would have abated. On the up-side, loved the coffee pot.
- Laura (10/5): - Small with friendly owner.
- Garrett (8/5): - Very nice owner, friendly, helpful. Room was clean, fairly comfortable beds. Very good value for the area.
