Guest Reviews
It was an awful night, hard beds, cockroaches in the room, the space has strongly smelt mufflig, mould in the bathroom, the Schwimmingpool had green water to swimming he was not suitable.
The breakfast was a disaster. I have spoken with the manager, that has twitched only with the shoulders.
In this hotel, blos not beeches this has never again only nice pictures, one is fully deceived.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Love that the staff were so friendly, were so nice and welcoming to family and friends that came around to visit us(didn’t mind that we had few drinks by the pool side) Walking distance to Sunrise restaurant and markets. Nice and quiet, barely realized the time until staff came and delivered breakfast 😂 chatted with staff like we’ve known each other for years. Perfect aircon system that kept us going haha. A bit run down but other than that perfect little piece of paradise. Didn’t visit the bar area but by the sounds of it on the weekend it’s pretty pumping especially with rugby games on. One end of the pool has the perfect end of the shade with that side being a bit deeper than the other, perfect after being out all day in Samoa’s heat.
Checked in on the 20th of Feb and left on the 23rd and as we left 2 staff members waved us off and i legit shed a tear, felt like i just left my own family. Would surely be back here for my next stay ❤️
- Rachel (10/5): - Awesome place and breakfast was so delicious definitely will visit again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fabulous staff, friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting and grounds. Great location, 5 minutes walk to town. We enjoyed the breakfast, tropical fruits, traditional Koko rice, as well as toast and cereal options. Rooms comfortable and quiet, although a little run down(a few broken towel rails etc), but overall a wonderful and restful retreat when we needed. My son and I enjoyed the pool and poolside. At least part of the pool was well shaded at any time of the day thanks to the beautiful plantings, and staff were regularly cleaning the pool and area. Fantastic value for price. I definitely recommend Edens Edge. Awesome Samoan hospitality!
- petertaylor57 (6/5): A mid-range hotel with nice garden and pool. - Rooms have the basics, including hot water and an air-con, but no free internet. Breakfast is included but cooked breakfast is extra, paid by the egg or the sausage. Staff want you to complete and sign a comment sheet before they let you leave so I guess some of the comments made on the website are not all they pretend to be. Nevertheless, obliging, friendly service.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Friendly and lovely staff. Appreciate what they did for us.
- Nina (8/5): - i liked the friendly and helpful staff. The laidback and easygoing vibe. The bar was great, good that there was a pool table and it was nice to meet friendly locals who even shouted my partner a drink for his birthday! The staff also surprised him with a birthday cake and treated us to a free jug of a mocktail and pineapple after our cool dip in the cute pool which we had all to ourselves. i loved the quietness of Edens Edge but also that it was close to town. The room is no-frills but it was clean and the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water and airconditioning was more than adequate. The breakfast is fresh fruit, a traditional samoan dish called koko laisa or cocoa rice which was delicious and fresh bread with jam. We were delighted that you could order and pay for eggs and sausages. Edens Edge is a little bit of heaven on earth. All creatures great and small are welcome!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Freundlichkeit des Personales , Moebel im Zimmer in schlechtem Zustand, nette Bar und Pool
- Masela (10/5): Hotels.com Australian app is BS - Would’ve been better if I wasn’t billed in U.S dollars, this is not the resorts fault.
However this is a hotels.com australia app fault! I booked this accommodation based on AUD currency as it was via my app on phone to my surprise I was billed in U.S dollars.
Mepa the receptionist who handled my acc was nothing but professional throughout my frustration. Thank you so much I will chase up the reservation with hotels.con
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to centre of Apia, nice pool and comfortable rooms. Ceiling fans would be nice so we didn't have to use the air conditioning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pool is beautiful. Bar beside with great staff. Rooms tidy. No tv. Aircon very good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pool was empty, which was disappointing. Staff was lovely. Walking distance to lots of Apia.
- lexiezlexie (4/5): Disappointing - We went here on a friend's recommendation.
The one positive I had was the location- it is walkable for all of downtown Apia, and it's easy to flag down a taxi anywhere nearby.
Now the negatives: the credit card machine was "down" all four days that we were there, which meant that we had to withdraw tons of cash to pay for our trip. At one point, it became clear that the machine was not plugged in. They plugged it in to charge, and told us to come back so that they could run our card. Ultimately, we had to go to the ATM right before our flight to pay our remaining balance.
The room was not made up once during our stay. The sheets and pillows had a bad, musty smell.
The bathroom was completely taken over by ants and there was a live cockroach in the fridge.
The pool was green and unusable.
The internet was unavailable. We had to go to another hotel to use their wifi.
We will not be back. Disappointing, because it seems like it used to be much nicer.
- 43biancal (6/5): Hostel Feel - Hotel is conveniently located in the city. The single rooms were small and simple. The staff were friendly. The pool looked like a lake, very green. None of us dared to enter the pool. And there were tons of mosquitos around. The breakfast was runny scrambled eggs, a hotdog, a piece of toast, and a slice of fruit. The food could be better. There is a bar that gets lively at night.
- rosemaryf752 (4/5): Mixed bag - For business location is excellent as are the room staff, but facilities becoming run down and broken - eg half the rooms air conditioners did not work.
Had a couple of bad experiences - came early off the plane exhausted to filthy rooms obviously used the previous night for temporary engagement - first room filthy and transferred to another equally as bad. The other issue related to a gay party going on in both neighbouring rooms - thin walls and imagination not wrong - management is the issue to allow this to occur and are very rude when addressed about it - they need to decide if it caters for business people or operates as a sometime brothel - the two are not compatable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice close to town.
We wanted to cook our food but no oven.
- 527AndrewB (10/5): Hit the spot - Needed a reasonably priced central Apia hotel. The bar was great for a few drinks and meeting locals, the pool was always available and family friendly. Enjoyed the stay and the staff. I'll will be definitely in December and looking forward to them reopening the restaurant.
- lei (4/5): Never again - We stayed here for two nights they had run out of toilet paper the aircon failed to work in the rooms we paid for a room with two doubles only to be switched to a cheaper room that could only sleep 2 people. Breakfast wasn't great for the price you pay you don't get what you paid for compared to a cheaper hotel such as Apia central where it's much cheaper but they have amazing service. We have a 3 year old who needed her bottle only to be told not only is there no kettle that works there is also no microwave no cutlery once the bar is closed it's pathetic. I must commend Rae and Ben who always serviced us.
- Tiana (8/5): Nice hotel within walking distance of main city. - Edens Edge is a beautiful hotel and truly a hidden little beauty surrounded by Samoa native plants.
Although its within 3 to 4 min walking distance into Apia city, its very private and has an Eden like atmosphere.
The staff are friendly, wonderful and hospitable. Continental breakfast consitrd of a variety of local fresh produce. Enjoyed fresh papaya, coconut cream and sago pudding served hot or cold....truly delicious.
I recommend the Taula which is a local beer served at the Edens Edge bar. Pool side party with family and friends great way to spend the warm sunny days if you dont feel like venturing out.
Personally would like to keep this hidden beauty to myself but the garden of Eden was meant for more than just two people.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average - Overall it was OK, the manager is very helpful, staff was friendly and service was OK. Breakfast was average. Internet is expensive but the same as everywhere else though. Rooms weren't so great, beds were hard and really uncomfortable but we managed. Room weren't serviced daily so we had to use the same sheets for three days and same as the towels. I really liked how it was close to town and shops.
- Talaleu (10/5): Quiet retreat - I spent nine nights here. I loved the periods of quietness and the relaxed atmosphere. Each room had a deck with deck chairs. This was a perfect place to read or just admire the lush landscaping. It's not the most perfect accommodation but I give them full points for the effort they make.
- LauraL8704 (2/5): Do not stay here!!!!!! - After reading a mixture review i was hesitant in booking here... but it was a good location and reasonable price. when we arrived its in a bit of an industrial area so would not recommend walking at night. the room was basic and the bed was hard. Air conditioning did not work. shower curtain had black mold stains so we didn't even bother using it! Sheets on bedding did not look the cleanest! Breakfast was a mixture, sometimes average and sometimes terrible. Hardly any communication from staff. Did not service rooms, so we always had to find someone to give us clean towels. There was hardly anyone at reception most of the time. Pool was never clean, when i asked they just kept saying tomorrow... overall one of the worst places I have ever stayed in during my travels. ended up leaving early and booking else where.I regret not taking photos! so my advice is just do not book here and pay a bit extra to get somewhere decent and CLEAN!
- michaeldX7705HY (8/5): Five Nights in Apia, Samoa. - Located close to all amenities in Apia and to the main attractions, Eden's Edge is a laid-back small hotel set around a lovely pool within a tropical setting of palm trees. It has entirely Samoan staff who give it an authentic atmosphere and a very friendly vibe. The pace is slow and Samoan time takes over. The rooms are plain but pleasant with air conditioning to combat the heat. Some of the fittings are tired and in several cases in need of minor repairs. Breakfast is served in leisurely style in a separate building that opens onto a courtyard garden. Everyone is friendly and helpful.
- traveller400017 (2/5): Walked in and walked out! - Do not book this hotel going by the photos provided they are not indicative of the place at all. Air con did not work, the room was dirty, smelly, and beds looked far from inviting. The pool was not clean.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worse stay in Samoa so far - I don't recommend this place at all. The room we stayed in looked nothing like the room in the pictures. Stains on bed sheets, towels and pillows. The air con made me feel sick and had a weird smell when it was on. I thought it of been because of the weather hot/cold but I stayed in Aggies greys with air con and never felt sick. The bathroom had mould along the cracks of the tiles along the floor, which were very visible. The bar looks ok although the noise is very loud and my room was a fair distance from the bar. Staff are ok, ripoff with the wifi lavaspot they have. We asked for washing to be done, went out for the day came back still wasn't done. Asked if could be done again or if I could do it myself but was told the housekeeping lady was gone for the day and had to wait till the next day but we had to check out, which was very annoying. Although it was hot inApia during that time I still didn't want to swim in the pool, didn't look very clean. Breakfast was average. Overall not worth the money we spent.
- AjBaeBae (8/5): Beautiful and clean - I stayed here in Dec 2016 for a night.. Very affordable. Nice, clean and small hotel located close to town.. The Staff there were lovely and friendly and made us breakfast the next morning.. Would be happy to stay there again..
- E2437YEannah (6/5): Good location - This hotel is centrally located and is fair priced. Despite being in town it's off a side road and I found taxis didn't know where to go. However the grounds are a lovely green space and you feel out of the city and relaxed. The rooms are simple and it has a motel vibe. Very friendly staff. During my visit the pool wasn't accessible and there was no restaraunt as advertised., just a bar. I'm not sure if this is a permanent change.
- Glen05 (6/5): A Friendly place - I stayed 2 nights
August, 2016 at this place; my son called to reserve breakfast for me as we were driving from the airport. They sure cooked breakfast for me when I arrived at the place.
The environment was cool, push plants and clean; the rooms could use better furniture and the pillows are old. The room was old and needed a lot of care, there was a broken lover at he front windows and I was concerned, the light outside was out it just needed a light bulb. I was disappointed about that part. As US citizen it is hard to see that the prizes of the hotels are too high for the quality of the rooms. The most important thing I needed was a comfortable bed and sleep. The walls could use some sound proof. Otherwise, the best thing for my stay were the friendly staff and good breakfast. I would still stay there, hopefully improvement would be in place for the next visit.
Mafa-
Washington state.
- rossprice (10/5): Amazing Staff - Everything you could want. Easy walking to the main shops, in house restaurant, bar and in ground pool. The staff cannot do enough for you, just ask. So good I have stayed at Eden's Edge twice and would happily stay there again.
- olafoster2002 (10/5): "Home away from home" - My sister and I stayed at Eden's Edge for a couple of days as a retreat from our busy and hectic professional schedules. We were blown away by the excellent customer service from the Manager, Mr. Andy Ripley and the entire staff. They were very accommodating. They were very helpful with suggestions on clubs, restaurants, cabs and various of other interesting information. They truly made us feel like family. I highly recommend this place to all.
Eden's Edge is a small and quaint hidden treasure in the middle of downtown Apia. Its location is a walking distance to a popular spa, most restaurants, and other attractions.
We enjoyed our time and would stay there again. :)
- Lauina (8/5): Royalty.. - Customer service is not a big thing in Samoa, especially in retail shops. But the service we received at Edens Edge was excellent. Staff were warm and friendly and helpful. A last minute booking turned our holiday into one to remember. Rooms could do with a lil improvement, but the aircon was working so Im not complaining. New beginnings for Edens Edge for 2016. I highly recommend this hotel and will brag about how great it is.
- blb12015 (10/5): Truly a home away from home - A most welcoming and lovely place. Simple and friendly. Capable and very professional staff. Andy, the manager, is doing a awesome job and has a team of dedicated people. Great breakfast and food. Nice rooms and all staff always available to share a smile. Perfect for business stay, wifi connection option good reliable connection, close to the town centre. Kettle with coffee and sugar. Entertainment and music on certain nights with music and lovely food. Quiet place. The manager, the staff, the chef went out of their way to make me feel at home. Definitely would recommend. I will go back. Thank you
- 331nickyj (4/5): AIR CONDITIONING DON'T WORK - We stayed here a day before our flight out, we couldn't sleep the whole night the air conditioning was just hot. Privacy lacking for everything was so close together, it was just heated I couldn't stand it we ended up on the chair in front of the room and fan ourselves. I will never go back here to end it with.
- Atfeso86 (10/5): The meaning of Relaxation - I enjoyed my stay at Eden's Edge from the moment I stepped out of the taxi to the moment I had to say goodbye. The staff was awesome. They catered to our every need no matter what time of day or night. The soft music that played in the bar and restaurant area made it feel so relaxing. I did not want to leave. I am definitely going to hook up at Eden's Edge when I travel to Samoa again. The name says it all. Eden's Edge......so relaxing and filled with comfort, privacy, and respect. I would like to extend a great faafetai to Andy (owner filled with hospitality), Pasi, Pe'a, Elsie, Carol, and all the other staff members in whom I was able to meet. The rooms were always clean. The environment was always clean. The spirit of the staff members was an added benefit to the clean environment experienced on this trip.
- pattitrip2015 (10/5): While attending SPREP meetings, I had the opportunity of staying at the Eden's Edge where it was peaceful. - Eden's Edge provide excellent service. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Moreover, the food is delicious. Additionally, the staff always greets you with a friendly smile and service. And the Management---they are awesome. I certainly enjoyed my stay!
- RowenaKS (8/5): Great Location - Budget Friendly Hotel. Great location! Short walk to bars, nightclubs, shopping and restaurants (Y-Not, Ace nightclub, Sunrise & Paddles)
Standard furnishings but clean and in good condition. Clean showers :)
Food was the highlight - good quality food, generous portions and cheap. Try the Bbq for 12 tala. Breakfast is also great, including omelette with toast, array of fruits and smoothies
