• MORGZ AND VI (4/5): Besides the mice waking us up early in the morning from under the fridge it was alright. - Beds were comfy, rooms were warm. Spa room had broken boards could cause an accident. Water got cold fast. The spa bath looks a bit rough probably just needs a paint or something. Overall we enjoyed the warm spa while it lasted.

• Muriel Pavihi (7/5): Passable not disappointing but pleasant. - It's was close to everything we needed. Pak n save, fresh choice, woolies, kmart, the warehouse, bunnings and even mitre 10. Gas station was near by and so were restaurants and fast food restaurants too. My family especially my kids enjoyed the hot tub just outside our bedroom and the privacy was just wonderful. The hot tub is in the view of you and your family. The family room with 2 single beds and 1 double bed with a hot tub, the bedroom is sound proof. The receptionist speaks English and pretty cool but the cleaner doesn't speak nor understands English. The 🪳 cockroaches under the sink in the cupboards and in the toilet area. There is no ventilation in the bathroom when you take a hot shower or if your cooking your food the ventilation is stuck in the kitchen and no where to escape. The whole room needs a upgrade , the hot tub needs flooring that isn't slippery. At least put in screen doors and screens on windows so we can have the doors and windows open without having to close them. Upgrade on trash bins, 🗑 need one in the bathroom as it should be separate to the kitchen trash bin. There are little holes in the walls, electricity for kitchen needs an upgrade as you need to switch off the stove for you to use the microwave. There are plugs in weird spots of the room. Mattresses needs a good clean and so do the duvet covers. The television 📺 needs to go up on the wall so that there are more floor space. The carpet is different colour's and there are stains on the floor. If there were ventilation in the kitchen for your cooking the smoke alarms would still be up on the walls but we saw our kitchen alarm sitting in the bedside draw. There was a Crack in our bathroom mirror. Toilet seat needs a new toilet or seat. Bathroom sink needs an upgrade with a soap dispenser that's not in the shower, grime on bathroom/kitchen/hot tub taps needs to be removed, out with the silver shower box and bring in the new showers. Need air conditioning instead of stand fans, change the wall heaters, they are dangerous 😳

To get to the shower, you have to climb over the spa and into it. The pressure of the shower was also very bad.
• habeeb (1/5): Very very bad experience - Nothing. I want to bring to your attention our recent one-day stay at the Golden Glow Hotel. We did not stay for three days as originally planned. We informed the owner about a severe cockroach problem in the hotel. Cockroaches were seen in every room, which was extremely unhygienic, especially since we had our children with us. The cockroaches were even around the fridge, entering inside it. Despite us asking, the owner refused to help. We requested at least a spray so we could clean it ourselves, but he, a Chinese owner, became very frustrated. Later, I also mentioned that YouTube was not working on the TV, and he became even more frustrated. He did not cooperate at all. After this, he came and moved all our belongings from one room outside. I have photos and videos, which I have attached, showing the cockroaches everywhere. The hotel is completely unacceptable. Moreover, we were even verbally abused during this busy period, and he placed our belongings outside. We told him there were ladies inside and asked him not to enter, but he did so anyway. I have attached the photos. Please review them. In my opinion, this is the worst hotel. Booking.com should not list such hotels because we trust Booking.com as a verified and reputed platform. At least, as a Genius customer, we expect that if the owner has any issues, he should respectfully handle them and keep the place clean, instead of suddenly throwing the customers out.

• Hina (1/5): Won’t come back - In the center of town Trying to get into and out the parking lot is difficult. Especially if there is a parked vehicle on each side of the pathway. There is nothing special about this place. The hot tub doesn’t work. There were ants along the side wall that we had to kill. Beds are sleeepable but there is no AC. So you need to wait until night time to cool down in order for the place to cool down. You definitely get what you pay for.

• Sarah (3/5): Awful. - Location. That’s where it stopped. Cleanliness was awful. Staff were rude, except for a relief staff member (English lady) who stood in for the Chinese New Year. No hot water for the first two days with no compensation or organisation to shower or stay elsewhere. Staff member parked in our space on multiple occasions then had the hide to tell us to move as we were in the wrong spot, he was literally parked in our spot when coming back to the property. We ended up forfeiting our last night and moved to another town.

The location was good. *No hot water - the venue knew before and after I booked but didn't say anything about it until I arrived around 9.30pm before the check-in cut off. I was told upon my arrival by Martin, it would be back on by 6am the next morning. At 7:30am I checked the water- no hot water. I phoned the office, the person (not Martin) said "yeah there none" when I asked if I would be getting at least a discount (I had paid $165.00) he responded "Not our problem, there no hot water" * Floors were disgusting * Fridge stunk and hadn't been cleaned. *The tap in the sink moved around. *Could not locate an extra plug point to charge my phone. Only plugpoint I found close to the bed was the one used for the microwave, jug and anything else. *Furniture inside and out was grotty *Oven was grotty * Everywhere was filthy - the bed may have been too. I was so tired I just wanted to sleep. I had travelled flying from Brisbane to Auckland (leaving Brisbane at 22:55pm Wednesday 11th Feb) then after a 3hr stop over - flew Auckland to Taupo then drove to Rotorua to see a family member in hospital, I was hoping to have a shower and go to bed. We'll the shower was a no go so went to bed. I have photos attached but could only attached a listed amount.

The room had holes in the walls, curtain didn't hang correctly, toilet seat was ancient and stained. The final straw was there was no hot water available, supposedly the electrician was working on it but the next am there was still no hot water available.

The owner was a nice person and supportive which I really appreciated. My family was uncomfortable using the shower area due to bathroom not being in good condition. Improvement required. Close to thermal gas area, so smell was strong.

Towels and toilet paper have to be requested they don't refill. The flooring where the hot tub is, is dangerous and needs maintenance work. Wall plugs are in strange places. And one didn't turn off.

There was hair in the shower, sink and toilet. In the night the bathroom floor was full of mini cockroaches. I could keep going but I think it is enough 😅

• Richard (7/5): Clean and tidy, close to city centre, excellent value - Having stayed at a chalet in a campsite the previous night, it was great to have a much larger room at Goldren Glow with its own washbasin, toilet and shower and a table, sofa and fridge. Comfortable, light and airy and very good value for money. Just a few things they could tighten up on. There was a rug on the floor which wasn't that clean (had some stains on it) and the light above the bed didn't work. No plug in the sink to wash dishes.

• Dilma (6/5): - It was very central to everything. Walking distance from shops. Staff very helpful and kind Pictures did not reflect the rooms, alot of wear and tear. Carpet dirty stains, no veltilation room was very hot and stuffy and when we cooked it felt extremely hot. Could open windows properly and door could leave open as everyone could see inside.

• Andreas (10/5): - That it was safe for my babies to run around and close to where we needed to get to over the weekend. Staff was very attentive and helped where he could awesome stay at this place. Just the heater that wouldn’t turn off during the night. Other than that it was awesome.

• Una (1/5): Dissapointing - Location ideal The standards of the room was a big disappointment, tidy but needed to be cleaned properly and needs updating even a paint job. Ants were horrendous, Even found a cockroach on the bedding. Wifi was terrible. Took my husband and great grandson away for 2 nights as a treat as we are pensioners so to fork out the price we paid I expected it to be a nice motel. Highly disappointed will not pay to stay there again

• Teressa (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS DESPERATE! - The location and that the Spa atleast worked. The carpet was disgusting and stained, There was a burn mark and stains on bedding linen (We ended up buying linen to sleep on), cobwebs and dust. No air-conditioning but there were two fans which my husband took outside and cleaned as they were filthy We woke up to cockroaches covering the bench and inside cupboards. My husband has also been attacked by what looks to be bed bug bites despite not sleeping ontop of a brand new blanket and pillowcases.

• Anne (1/5): Very poor motel - I didn't like anything about this motel. It was shabby, outdated, run-down and unwelcoming.

It is the worse experience I have ever had regarding accommodation. I would never recommend booking the facility and especially never book through your website.

• David (2/5): We stayed because they couldn't cancel. - Very good location in the city center, close to markets. The facade and installation are terrible, unlike the photos in the advertisement. The carpets are dirty and smell bad. The toilet seat is awful. Bathtub not working and leaking.

• Deepak (5/5): Covenient and spacious location, great customer service by Sandra but awful gentleman who was rude. - Sandra helped approve a convenient room downstairs instead of upstairs at no extra cost for a better room! Thank you Sandra, because we were arriving late. We had just one napkin in the bathroom for the three of us, and I requested two more, but the gentleman bluntly refused. We cook our own food in the room, and I requested the gentleman again for a tea towel to wipe the pots and dishes, but he was rude in suggesting that I go to the supermarket and buy my own. The third shocking was a reasonable request to provide a floor mat outside the shower, and he said there is already one, and there wasn't one provided. He said he doesn't have any spare and he will provide it later. He never came back to me. This is the worst behaviour I have seen in my stay in almost 100 trips, and I have never come across such rude behaviour and customer service. Sandra did all the right things, and this gentleman undid all the good work.
• Mangere (1/5): - The tv . Number 15 is pretty much the dump where all rubbish are collected. The room stank. Stained carpet. Glasses and cups were filthy. Cockroach near bed and in bathroom. Worst motel in rotorua by far.
• Haidee (1/5): Terrible mouldy, dirty smelly beds, rude staff and rats, can’t beleive this place has a 3 star rating - Location Covered in mould, period and sex marks in bed and rubbish bins over flowing with rats coming into unit, staff so rude, when I said couldn’t stay there, it’s nasty and dirty, he laughed at me and said shush I give fresh blanket , refused refund
• Wi Awatere Taiawhio Te Tau (7/5): - Good location, close to a lot of attractions and a supermarket. Place needs a deep clean. Dust balls in the bathroom window. The surrounding area needs a clean of all the rubbish and bins. At some point the driveway needs to be done up. They also need to sort out their power problem. Reading a notice that says you can only use one appliance at a time is not a good impression.
• Egodagamage (1/5): - We didn’t like it at all. It is a horrible motel. The carpets are really dirty. Also the room was smelly. Blankets had dirty patches all over it. When we asked for a refund they didn’t even agreed to it. Horrible experience.

No soap in the bathroom n not enough mats in the toilets and at the hand basin. And the around the spa pool n inside the spa pool was dirty.

• Karl (1/5): Unsafe and unclean - Location The first room we got was dirty, batteries missing in the remote. Lights not working. We were told we couldn't get a refund cause we booked on booking.com, we were charged just under $400. So we cleaned it ourselves and we reported the broken lights then went out. We came back and gave us a different room which was a little better. When I got up this morning I noticed something moving on the kitchen bench. I turned the light on and was disgusted by what I saw. Cockroaches everywhere. We packed up our stuff and got out of there. We stayed here 6 years ago and it was much better than this. Now it's dirty and unsafe, I saw nails sticking out on the wooden flooring near the spa. Until they fix it up and give it a deep clean I will NOT be staying here!!!!

• Daryl (1/5): Shirt - Nothing Paying $160+ for outdated tied motel unit in need of a complete over hall from ground up. Checked in and entered unit only to pee in toilet flush and check out, might have been fit for emergency housing but not at all tourist accommodation.
