Two remotes for TV but no directions for sequence to operate it. After 1/2 hour of trying gave up.

• RICHARD (4/5): Superb Location / Conditions Disappointing - This is my third year in a row staying at this lodge. The location is amazing, and that has not changed. But I was quite disappointed with the condition of the room on this stay. Has management changed or taken their eye off the ball? The moment I walked in, the front hall light did not turn on. Next, there was only 1 coffee packet, for my stay of 4 nights? -- (Was there any awareness of how long the guest was staying in that room?) -- When I asked for more I was given 1 more, and had to clarify that I would need yet 2 more to cover my full stay. Small details, but they are important. Meanwhile the AC was dripping heavily on the floor, and there were significant mold stains on the walls. That alone made the place look like a slum apartment. The floor was sticky to my feet (some kind of chemical?) and required that I mop it down with towels so I could comfortably go barefoot. The fragrance generated by the electronic wall fragrance pod made my stomach nauseous until I unplugged it and opened all the doors. There was no fan installed in the bathroom, and no way to open the window, so what to do about smelly toilets or shower steam? The overall power went out on two occasions for a brief moment, causing everything to flash and beep. And to top that all off, I had to chase a large rat out of the room on one late night. I believe these people are good people, and I know this location is wonderful. But I would bring details back up to standards, to match location.

• charlie (10/5): - My wife and I have been going almost yearly to Edgewater Lodge for 30 years. I've never left a review in the past but after our current experience I feel the need to do so. On our first night there during this current trip, the individuals in an adjoining room were way out of control well into the night. The next morning I went to see Chris to see if he could help us out by moving us to another room if those individuals were going to be spending another night in their room. At that point Chris made us priority #1. He immediately accommodated us. That's the reason we will continue to visit Edgewater in the future. Thanks Chris for a job well done.

• Evelin (10/5): - Everything we needed for our trip was right there.. fishing bait, the ocean front property at the motel and fishing bridge a walks distance across the road. The Lick It food shack offers a great variety and the bbq is delicious (they will also cook your catch). We did not use the pool, but many were and it was clean and inviting as well. Wonderful staff that was very pleasant and welcoming. Walk out on the piers and see fish. Gorgeous sunset views. Already planning our next trip.
• Rodney (4/5): - The room we booked supposedly had a deck on the water and a full kitchen. I even confirmed this by phone! Come to find out there was no kitchen. We had food in a cooler so we took a different room not on the water that had a "full kitchen". There was practically nothing to cook with, not even any hangers to hang clothes. Actually there wasn't even a closet as such, just a little alcove with a wire shelf. Our drapery rod was coming out of the wall and were dragging. Our view was a noisy corn hole game and patio tables. The furniture looked like thrift store rejects.

(the office was already closed). 2) A note in the bathroom asks us not to throw toilet paper into the toilet, but into a basket (very unpleasent scenario).

• Jerome (2/5): - Average at best. Definitely a fishing lodge and it’s been around a long time. We stayed in an efficiency, opening on to the little beach area so had great sunset views. The beds were good. The shower was minimal. The bedside lamp would not work and we found the bulb to be shattered. The young man at the “office” said he would try to find a replacement and finally did. The curtain on the sliding glass door was about to fall down. The inside of the top of the microwave was encrusted with old food. The BBQ food truck was not open. We definitely would not stay here again nor would we recommend it to anyone.

They have a great food truck for lunch and dinner—the little store really only has beer, wine and soda. Some breakfast items would be nice

However, the amenities are falsely advertised. There are no bikes, no kayaks, and no private beach area. You can sit at picnic tables by the water, but no lounge chairs. It is a bare bones motel which was fine but not what was advertised. We did see manatees and enjoyed watching the Super Bowl under the tiki hut by the food truck. The sunsets were spectacular.

• Ana (6/5): - I booked and paid for a room with a kitchen, spent over $250 in groceries but upon arrival and after checking in we walked into a small, outdated room with NO kitchen at all. After going to the office and complaining they checked and said that the rooms had been renovated and some of the rooms no longer had kitchens and they had no other rooms available. After driving 5 hrs with 2 teenagers we were kind of stuck with what we had which was an extremely outdated room with NO bathroom door. It was a sliding farm door that you could hear everything into the room(who ever thought of putting that in was not thinking clearly) The views are SPECTACULAR, the venue is nice enough with a really good food truck(best food) but i would NOT stay in those rooms again.
• Anne (8/5): Great stay - This was our second year to stay here. We were traveling through the Keys each time with different friends. We wanted something near the water, convenient and affordable. They have cottages with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and full kitchen - perfect for our needs. It is a beautiful, peaceful setting on the water. No frills but very clean and comfortable. We had no hot water one morning and it was fixed right away. Nice staff and a little store with beverages.
• Amy (10/5): Good place to stay - We stayed in a cottage and overall was a good stay. We came down for a bridge fishing trip and the location to do that is excellent. The cottage did have a couple of maintenance issues but they were fixed right away. Kudos to the worker that rescued a flip flop that fell in the water. He even went and got a kayak to help us out!! The grounds were very nice and the BBQ truck had good food onsite.

That being said. It is a nice little lodge. Great outdoor common areas. Snorkeling right on sight. Tasty food truck open for lunch and dinner. Friendly, helpful staff.
• Sarah (10/5): - This is a fabulous property. It's undergoing some changes which all appear to be for the better. My one and only suggestion is that the shower head in Tarpon 4 should be changed out for a handheld one since the shower is so small. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with this property.

• Hugo (2/5): - When I booked thru Hotel.com for two days I was not told that the room had no TV, no internet, my wife and I work from our lab tops so we could only stay 1/2 day. I went to the office to see if they would give us another room and no refund, the site manager told us that they dint have any other rooms available and that the internet was down because next door to our room was being remodel and we dint get internet because of the block walls. I waste my time driving 5 hours and lost $436.76.
• Verified traveler (2/5): I'd rather go camping than stay here again - #1. The rusty window room air-conditioner was a roaring nightmare. The room was right by the ocean and extremely humid all day. We had to rely on the air-conditioner for the night. However, it was too old to function quietly. The sound disrupted my sleep; my wife and I woke up a few times. #2. All the furniture was dirty. The table, chair, dresser and chest were all covered with a thin layer of filthy and adhesive film. Although the bed sheets were clean, the rest of the room was inhabitable. A motel would do better than this place. #3. Congested parking area. It was a dead-end unpaved road with only one way in and out. And the assigned parking space was quite limited. You had to be really careful navigating a vehicle. It may not be a deal breaker but didn't set your mood bright. #4. Blocked sunset view. I noticed critical reviews before booking this lodge and was still impressed that most reviewers were amazed at the sunset view. However, no one pointed out that the sunset was COMPLETELY blocked by the overseas highway. There is NO spot on this property where you can enjoy a real sunset view. #5. Noise, noise, noise. Guests had to share the lodge with owner's BIG family. Kids were always around, running and goofy. Guest rooms were just several steps away from a restaurant, Lick It BBQ & Wood Fire Pizza, with outside seating only which was those tiki huts in the lodge. Local residents gathered here from dusk till late night.

Beautiful views, sunsets, fishing off piers, snorkeling in a small secluded beach, awesome food truck on site and the office sells cases of beer so you really don’t have to leave! We would highly recommend, we care more about location vs the inside which was a little dated but it was clean. Staff all very friendly, really great spot and beautiful area.

The area is nice, however for almost $450, I was really shocked that the locks on the upper bathroom doors didn't work at all and both door knobs were about to fall off. The toilet on the bottom floor would not even flush and constantly ran to the point I had to shut the water valve off and use just the other bathroom. The water in the bathtub never would get hot. And the oven didn’t work at all. For that amount of money, I would have expected everything to be in really good shape. I was pretty let down by the lack of upkeep honestly. It’s a shame that this property isn’t kept up better as it’s in an ideal location for fishing.

However, that paradise ends quickly with extremely loud guests blasting music, partying loud and constant yelling until about 10-11pm. You can’t enjoy the sunset without having to hear guest scream at each other from various extremes of the properties. At two different occasions in the same day, two guest just parked their boats and blasted for hours their own, not family friendly, music. However, the property states no parties at all, and no loud music after 9pm. From the moment we woke up until 11pm all you heard was loud guests, their music and kids screaming, even from inside our room. At night, these same guests take over the pool and you just feel like you are at somebody’s family reunion. It’s a shame how lack of enforcement from management has ruined this experience.
• Christian (10/5): - Everything was good except hit us with $30 fee cause we had a 5 and 6 year old we had room with two beds guess me and my wife where supposed to sleep in different beds makes no sense
• Zhanna (10/5): Great place for family - Very comfortable and clean. Definitely will come again. Be ready that not any restaurants on the island but room have everything for cooking.
• James (10/5): - The property was gorgeous and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. The convenience store was cheap. The A/C units are quite loud at night. Looking forward to another stay.
• Joseph (8/5): - Very flimsy and balky lock on the sliding patio door that was the once entrance to my room. Did not feel that secure. That said, the property itself felt safe, in great shape, superb view and waterfront (tho no beach). Would definitely stay again. Handy spot for Middle Keys.

• Dena (6/5): - The staff was very friendly. But, the property is old. We had a two-bedroom suite, and one of the rooms had no door or air conditioning. There is no staff in the complex from 18:00 pm until 8:00 am, so if you need anything, there is no one to talk to.
• Alice (10/5): - Staff was friendly, and it was clean and quiet, and reasonably priced.
• Nedzmina (10/5): - The view is stunning. The location of this property is the best. Room was very clean. Rooms are spacious and big. They have a kitchen with utensils. We had many towels on hand. Pool was great. They had hammocks and games outdoors. Would definitely come back.
