Guest Reviews
- murphypickle (10/5): Great friendly place - We stayed a night at a nearby campsite so called in for a few drinks and something to eat as it was within walking distance. They have a great range of decent cold beers and the food is excellent. Good prices. Friendly staff Will definitely recommend
- John (8/5): - Nothing to dislike good for a one night stopover.
- Joanne (6/5): Overnight - Very friendly staff. Room is clean and tidy. Rooms are dated and could do with refresh as in removing old shelf over bed, and the radio ,phone etc.
- peteroM721QJ (2/5): 4 days running - Eat here all the time buisness pays for meals.
3 days running now meals have been below par!
Today have ordered Lasagne. Thinking noway any one could stuff this up. Get into it 3 fork full it's cold.
Food here use to be very good. Now days it's below par.
Yesterday was Chicken parmy chips over cooked parmy dry and over cooked chips could be snapped in half. The day befor that was nasi it to below what one would expect.
If you visit Kalgoorlie find another place to eat!!!!
- Graeme (10/5): - Friendly and efficient
- Trandy08 (8/5): Awesome food! Great service! - We ate here twice during our stay in Kalgoorlie and we were not disappointed.
Really good food, generous portions, great menu, awesome atmosphere, and friendly service.
We had fish tacos, Korean chicken, garlic prawns, seafood linguine, calamari, and the nasi goreng. All delicious.
Highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Needs renovation
- Peter (10/5): A comfortable motel - We have stayed here a number of times and always been happy. It is owned by a mining company and some of its workers stay here between shifts. So they are doing a lot of sleeping. It's a quiet place to stay.
It has all the usual motel room amenities. The rooms are larger than usual.
There is also a bar and restaurant onsite.
It is a bit too far to walk into the CBD (Hannan St).
- Ryan (10/5): - .
- JANEEN (6/5): - K
- angiogram (8/5): Kalgoorlie-overnighter - Stayed here overnight, slightly out of the town centre. Lovely and clean, reasonably-priced and pretty quiet, although located on a main road. Friendly and quick service - we also ate here, because it has a pub as well as accommodation. Food was good and drinks cold! Good place for families. They have a Trivia Nite on Mondays and the pub became quite busy as the evening progressed.
- Daniela (10/5): - Amazing food, service and accommodation. Will definitely be back 😁
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great little place, nice and clean easy access aaa+++
- Robert (10/5): Last minute stay - Fantastic service
- J1466GHmichaelm (2/5): No food - Ordered a cabonara and after an hour asked where it was got told me the order was lost so got my money never will I eat there again such a poor thing service no offer to get me my food just offer of refund nah go screw yourself you can cook steaks fast enough makes you more money never eat here again and the food is is poor and anyway
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great Room Great Service For Price Thanks Guys A++++
- j0n1g (8/5): Work trips - It may not look like much from the outside but the rooms are proper big hotel size with great bathrooms and big TVs.
The restaurant has a quality menu but it’s not cheap.
Friendly helpful staff, excellent front bar and a beer garden for the smokers.
Enjoyed my stay here but glad the company paid for it.
Try and get a room away from the road as it’s pretty noisy
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not bad... - It wasn't too bad...
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Meals were lovely but due to being a "miners rest" very big. Breakfast served at a different motel was a bit strange. Would have no problem staying there again
- Verified traveler (8/5): The carpenters opinion - All in all a good experience. There were 2 things worth mentioning. 1.Overhead cupboard needs to be moved closer to TV as it’s in a bad place where we banged our heads when we went into the fridge and then stood up again. 2.Bedhead shelf prevents any kind of comfort when sitting up in bed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - As the name suggests, there were plenty of mine workers who left early for work ... otherwise, the experience was great. The room was adequate, the reception staff was outstanding, the restaurant was fabulous and the drinks were refreshing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Just clean tidy friendly staff and service and meals excellent
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Shower was amazing bed was comfortable the rest of the rooms could do with a make over
- travellinghibiscus (6/5): Nice cheap lunch - Would come back lunches here are good size and good price, taste is 7/10 not bad at all clean environment nothing bad to say, they have triva tuesdays so maybe avoid going on these evenings as can get busy
- Graham (8/5): Early wake, road noise. - Good room, good value and good bed. Woken early by workers leaving for an early start and road noise.
- helencP2460WG (10/5): Lunch with the Ladies - There was a large group of us all wanting lunch. We were served quickly and the meals were superb. A full menu with lots of choices. I chose the grilled snapper and it was delicious. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again
- Peter (10/5): A nice motel in Kalgoorlie. - We enjoy staying here. This was our fourth time. There is a nice restaurant and bar which has been recently renovated.
Rooms are big, A/C is cold, shower is good and bed comfortable. Decor is not the latest, but who cares. Everything works fine.
It is a bit of a walk to the main street of town, but only a couple of minutes in the car. It is very quiet. No road noise.
Quite reasonably priced. We paid $125, but some nights are as low as $99.
- stmlne (10/5): Miners Rest Restaurant - Had a great meal at a reasonable price. Close to the servery so was able to suss out the various orders and they all looked great - made it difficult to decide what to order. Bar and restaurant Staff were excellent.
- travellinghibiscus (6/5): Chicken parmi & steak sandwich - Visited for my first time & had chicken parmi hubby had steak sandwich, was okay sizing was good. Would try something else next time new to Kalgoorlie so trying different places to eat when we can. Expected a tasty parmi but was pretty average hear about it all over radio abit more seasoning would of been nice
- melk323 (10/5): Best meal in ages!! - This is one of those places you drive passed and don't think much of. We were a group of five, on a very busy evening. The service was super friendly and efficient. The meals were huge, delicious and fresh. Very reasonably priced. Would recommend 100% and we will certainly return.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff were great and food in restaurant was good. Beds were comfortable and room was clean but very old and a bad smell in the bathroom when the exhaust fan was on. Close to the main road so could hear the traffic through out the night.
- Benny (8/5): - Quick easy friendly check in. Just what we needed from our drive across the Nullarbor. Comfy room with everything we needed for a good price.
- Timothy (8/5): Motel in a mining town. - Good value motel with pleasant staff. The only negative found was the absence of maid service on Sunday, however this does reflect the nature of service generally in a working class mining town.
- mick (8/5): A good one for the workers - The motel is clean a bit dated a bit far from the town if you are a visitor with out a car plenty to see.hot water runs out when the workers get home which was a bit frustrating as we were going out other wise you get what you pay for
- 431joh (6/5): Ok - Nothing wonderful....we are non smoking but all the obvious miners staying smoking around rooms. Air Con very effective. Check in very easy and quick. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food in restaurant not cheap but lots of it and great tasting. Wifi non existent, keeps dropping out. Room clean but dated, big stain on carpet for $125 a night....only a few tv stations that work- all others are audio only. Parking directly outside of room-No cover.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Aweful stay - Dirty and worn down motel.
- MollyB75 (2/5): Just terrible - Do yourself a favour and never stay at this motel. The beds are uncomfortable, the pillows rock hard. The decor is from at least 40 years ago. Wifi doesn't work at all. There is noise from road and neighbours. Just a terrible place to stay.
- senedies (10/5): Passing through - Excellent customer service. Meals excellent. Will be back again. Older interior but well maintained spot less.on the great eastern highway.Spent two nights here and was very happy with the service I received. Lock myself out of my room, they provided my with another key, no questions asked.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Dated but Comfortable - The room was clean and comfortable, however it is a little dated
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place to stay - if you need one level access and a good price, it was easy access to town and good facilities with parking outside of room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We stay there regularly it's always clean the staff are always friendly
- Ros (8/5): - We have been travelling around the last 6 weeks doing shows and it was nice to rock up to a hotel that the price is good and had best meal that we didn't have to pay a fortune for.
Please keep up with the good work.
- harrietvillesteel (10/5): holiday - We had a room right up the back of the property and it was very clean, quiet and had everything that you could want. We stay in Kalgoorlie often and this was the first time that we have stayed here.We will use this as a base from now on.The food and the staff in the restaurant were first class
- Geoff (8/5): friendly staff old but ok - Stayed overnight on a Saturday driving from Perth. Easy to find and close to the town centre. The motel, like most in Kal, is setup for mine workers (as in the name!).
Check in was easy and staff friendly. The rooms have that 80's feel and are basic but clean and functional. Didn't do breakfast which is actually a few block down the road in another motel (same owners I guess).
Nice place for a stop over.
- W4300ITdavec (6/5): A place to rest while prospect - Booked in for 3 nights $99 per night and room has a queen and a single. The room was clean but old fashioned. We stayed fri sat sun nights and the room was only cleaned and towels provided once on the Saturday. We ate in the bar/restaurant on the first night and found it ok food but a little pricey for surroundings. Overall was ok the place does have a lot of mine workers staying so there's a lot of vehicles coming and going very early morning but that's the same at all motels in Kalgoorlie. We were given a password for wifi in room but we couldn't connect, we didn't complain as it wasn't a issue for us but probably would be for overseas travellers.
Would I stay here again? Probably
Photo is of radio in bed frame
- Allan (8/5): budget motel at a reasonable price - Room was basic, older style and although it was on the main road the traffic noise was virtually non existant. Mattress was okay, but I rolled toward the middle disturbing my partner. Foxtel was included as was wireless, however this would not connect but as we were only staying a very short time we did not bother mentioning it. The motel is not really within walking distance of the town centre.
- 107shanem (8/5): Enjoyable and comfortable stays, great food - Regularly stay here and it's worth a mention comfortable beds very clean and tidy,... here the best bit!!!
The food here is amazing!!, I haven't had a meal here that isn't top notch!
The staff are great fun and sort out any dramas, nothing is a problem!
Great stays !!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - good parking, easy to find on main road. clean and tidy rooms. Great information pack in room about motel and local information.
- mels685 (6/5): Clean - Rooms are basic but clean. Even though our room was at the front of the hotel near the highway it wasnt too noisy. In hindsight i would have booked somewhere closer to the city centre and with a pool. Parking is convenient. Wifi requires a free voucher which you collect from reception but this wasn't mentioned upon check in. Would i stay here again? No
- BundyRed (6/5): Budget and Basic - Stayed here for 5 nites during Cup week with mixed feelings.
Check in was mixed when the receptionist was on the phone I had to wait 10 minutes eventually another staff member came over to check me in...there was no info given about the hotel facilities , restaurant , bar , wifi...hence I ate out every nite and morning.
I was put in a room that faced the road when there was many other rooms quieter down back.
Rooms are basic , decor is the same although the bed was comfortable and the tv was large.
The first 3 days I was working from my room til mid morning but I was only asked once by housekeeping if I needed my room serviced , the other 2 days my room was not cleaned at all...why ?
Its pretty clear with the signage around the motel they predominately cater for mine workers but I don't think they should pigeon hole all their guests in this category.
- Lyn (8/5): Quite motel, close to town centr - We booked for 2 nights, based on previous reviews. Receptionist was friendly & helpful. Our room was spacious, and had all we needed. The bed was comfortable, and it was good to have a table & chairs. TV reception was great.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Friendly and helpful staff - Basic motel room. Clean. Good value cooked smorgasbord breakfast. Fair way from main shopping area.
- Barb (8/5): Quieter being further from the town centre - Good value for money, easy to find, very helpful staff, heating works well.
- andrew (6/5): Cheap rooms offered - Paper thin walls made for a bad nights sleep. Bunch of yobbos in next room didn't help
- bruce (8/5): Comfortable place to stay. - Staff very friendly, and helpful.
Rooms what you would expect for the price.
However with the cold nights.
We found beds and room nice and warm and cozy.
Would stay again.
- Lynda (10/5): Road trip from Perth to Esperence via Kalgoorlie - We stumbled across this place and found it very neat clean and tidy. The beds where so comfortable. Shower great and would go back again.
- STEVEN (8/5): Good, clean fun. - Weekend away to the goldfields sand drags. Plenty of other motorcycles stayed here too.
Out of the town center, but still close to tour and visit. Great amenities with a restaurant and bar. Be back next year.
- jok127 (6/5): Great staff but we wouldn't eat there again - Ordered the beef and reef, you have a choice of sirloin or scotch fillet, we both chose the scotch because we thought it would be more tender. There were only 2 prawns and the steak was tough. For $32 I expected better.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice quiet hotel - Have stayed here several times, the staff are welcoming and polite. Nothing flash but clean, tidy and comfortable and only a few minutes drive from the centre of town
- Kyle (8/5): A good, economical choice motel - A good economical choice hotel. Slightly dated, but with efficient , warm hospitable staff who are a credit to the motel. No complaints for the price, just bear in mind that the city center is a good 45 minutes walk or $12 taxi fare away. There is a public bus, however it is infrequent and does not run on Saturday Afternoons, Sundays or Public Holidays.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Very miss leading when booking. - We thought we had booked a room with a spa bath from you web site.
The first room we had was very average .
High road noise
Noisey aircon.
We booked for 2 adults i child but only had towles and cups for 2.
After complaining to the office and paying extra we moved to a nicer room and enjoyed the ballance of our stay.
- Tim (8/5): Good location
- Great central location for both city and industry. It's in a location close to main roads south, west and through city, which is.close to go east or north...great access to airport too.
- Osamah (6/5): Fair hotel - Dont bother your self to go to the restaurant as its very expensive and the food is below average. This is a miners hotel so dont dont have high expectation. The hotel is not bad but not what i paid. Reception close around 9pm or 10pm so make sure to arrive around that time.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Basic Accomadation but that's all I need. Helpful staff.
- Wasiq (6/5): Good - It was a business trip
- Peter (10/5): The miner's secret in Kalgoorlie. - We stayed two nights. The price of $99- per night was excellent especially as the motel was close to city centre, but not walking close. The room was spacious and clean. It had everything you could want in a motel. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The meals in the restaurant were superb. I had the satay chicken...Yum,
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient whilst in town fro training - being able to get meals as well made my stay in Kalgoorlie for training very easy
- Katrina (6/5): Great value - Good basic rooms, though front rooms are quite noisy due to traffic on main road so rooms at the back probably quieter. Nice size rooms.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Easy access to where I go - The carpet is bit dirty and will be lovely if there is a microwave in the room. Other than that it was a great experience.
- Sharon (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. Beds were comfortable, TV reception good and the staff are very friendly with lovely manners.
- brent (6/5): Big room - Heater noisy. Couldn't sleep with it on. Carpet over due for a clean. Barthroom floor tiles grout very black.
- Sara (8/5): Cheap and cheerful - Room was clean, comfortable and adequate. Staff were very friendly and helpful
- Verified traveler (8/5): Utilities - The clock and telephone in room 5 did not work. Other than that the staff and cleanliness were excellent.Friendliness
- Steve (8/5): older motel at the bottom of main street - Excellent staff and good accommodation for price . Plenty of parking
