• MichaelW198 (10/5): A great motel perfectly situated - I enjoyed my stay at DeLago apartments. The unit is very clean and comfortable. On a main road but did not hear any traffic noise The host was extremely friendly and supportive, carrying my suitcase to my upstairs unit. The motel is very well situated with only a short drive from the airport and from the city. Nearby there are good restaurants; the Thai across the road is excellent. I would highly recommend the DeLago Motel Christchurch

• victoriasM8868TK (4/5): Avoid - The owner contacted me directly by phone (3 days prior to me arriving) saying he’d give me $40 off -and when I arrived at the hotel - to ask me to pay him directly so he could avoid the booking fees . I refused and paid the company booking.com . He then told Booking.com I was a no show !! to avoid paying the fees even though I stayed 5 nights and paid $699 The cleaner refused to make by bed because my cardigan was on the end of the bed . The service was very average

• Taffyojones2 (8/5): Very Roomy - Great room and very large for this type of room. Reception were great and the location is near everything you need. Would stay here again. Pub nearby is a great place for dinner and drinks. Also has a liquor store. Cafe just a short walk also. Try Vic's cafe, good value.
• ozzieklo (10/5): Comfortable value for money - Neat and very clean. Host was friendly and welcoming Beds and facilities were comfortable and well maintained. Parking was very easy and accessible. Close to some pubs etc. Suited us on our way through, as a very comfortable overnight stay.
• Christopher (10/5): - We loved our stay at De Lago Apartments. Will the manager was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The room was massive with a Jacuzzi bath and a private balcony although we did pay extra for this and it was well worth the money. It is about 20 mins walk into central Christchurch and all the attractions. There are plenty of restaurants nearby as well as a petrol station and liquor store. The kitchen was perfect and there was nothing that we required in addition to what was provided. Loved it here.

• Dunedinite9989 (2/5): Nightmare at Papanui Road - Extremely poor customer service. Booked a room with 2 beds and a spa bath, and when I arrived at night the lady informed that my chosen room was not available anymore and I'd have to make do with a bed and a sofa bed for my child! Also wanted to get us a cheaper room. When I wanted then to correct their fault they wanted more money for a room where I'll get two actual beds (because it was a higher tier room for them). They said that they knew that they wont be able to give me the room I booked in the morning, but preferred to wait till the night when I was on their front door to break the news to me. This is appalling!
• Anita (10/5): - This is one of the nicest motels I've stayed in. Incredibly clean, friendly management, felt like home away from home. Car parking spaces are very narrow though and the motel sign is slightly obscured coming from centre city.
• vanzliitt (2/5): soooo BAD - I went to the hotel yesterday to checked in supposedly, but I was told by the Chinese lady that i booked for 2 rooms which I booked only one room. and why the hell i booked for 2 rooms if it's just me and my partner will stay for the night. so, I just need only 1 room. And I asked her if I can cancel that other f** room, and she said yes, I can cancel it, but I still need to pay for the whole f**amount of the room. and she can't cancel it for me coz they're fully booked, and I was like the hell I care if your hotel is fully book, I just want to cancel that f** room. So, I decided to leave in that reception desk and find another hotel. it was so horrible.
• georgiaa934 (6/5): Dated and overpriced - Very friendly and efficient check-in. Off-street parking was convenient. Bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the room was quite dated and sadly didn’t match the modern website photos. The venetian blind covering the clear glass front door was broken and semi-attached together with cellotape, which provided inadequate privacy. The net curtains across the balcony door were attached to their tracks with yellow paperclips and were very dated, and the old fabric curtains let in a lot of light. The walls and furniture throughout the room were scuffed. I attempted to use the clothes dryer, but my fingers jammed in the handle. A touch of paint and refreshed furnishings would make the world of difference to the space. The nightly rate I was charged for this dated room was unacceptable.

The bathroom has a shower over a big spa bath. I enjoyed a bubble bath each night 😁 Quiet room with so much space. I didn’t need the bag stand as I put all my belongings into the wardrobe & shelving. I would stay here again.
• Shigamm (10/5): Lovely welcome - When I arrived the host welcomed me by my name and asked how my train trip was (I accidentally emailed them), which I thought was wonderful service. The room was clean and the kitchen utensils and drawers were all very clean. Free parking is available on site but they are limited.

• Graham_Battersby (10/5): This motel is a wee treasure in CHCH. - Superb location within walking distance of the city and Merivale shops and supermarket. Very clean and tidy inside and out. Will, the manager has an eye for detail and he is very friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable, kitchenette has everything you need and the parking is great. Its now our go to accom in Christchurch!!
• Kerri (10/5): Zip Fun in Christchurch - Staff/Owner was exceptionally friendly and very helpful. Walked us to our room and explained everything to us. Beds were comfortable and rooms/bathroom were very clean. Couldn't figure out how to get the washer/dryer to work properly and when the staff couldn't either she took the rest of our dirty clothes and half washed clothes and finished drying/washing them!!! Returned them to our room folded! Very unexpected but extremely Appreciated. WiFi was weak on my laptop, kept turning off but other than that everything else was Wonderful!
• JohnnyJ007 (10/5): Fantastic kitchen, powerful spa bath, quiet and spacious rooms with modern decor - Excellent location and safe parking. Very very helpful manager - William. He was amazing! Its my home away from home. If there's one thing about William is honesty. We returned to Auckland and didn't even know that my eldest daughter Beat Headphone were missing, worth $430. It was rose-gold with white trimmings. William called two weeks later to inform us that he had found it, and had been trying to contact me. That's honesty and integrity at its best.

Very warm and comfortable to stay in. Nothing bad to say at all and we will be back at some point for sure. Even though the room is near the road we didn't find noise an issue at all. Only tip I would mention is the green/yellow looking covers on the beds are dated, and look a bit old, I would update in my opinion, just an observation.

It was a very clean place and spacious, except no aircond, but Christchurch weather doesn't really needs one. Wil was exceptionally helpful and prompt to assist with our needs. Clean room whenever we ask. Unlimited wifi, kitchen facilities, free car wash. Just fabulous. Recommended if you visit Christchurch.

• melaniecY7846QK (2/5): Worst experience - My college booked me into Delago motel for a one night stay and I wish we paid a little more to get ALOT more quality. It is 11pm and I am nearly in tears due to the noise, unhelpful staff & cold room. There is zero double glazing and you can hear everything in the room next door. After calling reception from the unit phone there was no answer. I then called the direct line and someone finally answered. A male staff member then brought a blanket (after I requested it) and asked about the noise.. then went on to argue with me about me hearing it. (I then figured it was the washing machine next door amongst other noises from the neighbouring room!!!) I then closed the door and tried to get back to sleep. 10 or so minutes later the phone in my room started ringing!!! I then got up and it stopped. The noise next door has now got louder. I explained at check in that I would like a quiet room due to me being up since 2 am and also an early start the next day. I would not recommend this motel under any circumstance. I would of preferred to of slept in my car!!!!! Unhelpful, rude and extremely loud!!!!
• Wendy (8/5): Friendly Service - I chose this motel as it offered an airport shuttle, however they don't have their own shuttle but will book one for you. I suggest they change this on their website. The owner was very helpful and the room had everything we needed although could do with some refurbishment especially the window blinds.

The location is great, plenty of restaurants, a beautiful park,Hagley, is within a couple of minutes and we walked to the Christchurch Casino for a meal and a good night out.
• R J (10/5): Good location - We've stayed here before, and like the place quite a lot. It is within walking distance of good eateries as well as Hagley Park and the CBD. The only quibble we had this time is that the sofa was not the most comfortable to sit on. Servicing the room is done with quiet excellence. And we will stay here again.

First the good bits: - The young Chinese(?) lady on reception could not be more helpful. - The motel is ideally located for a 20 minute walk into the city centre. - It is clean and comfortable. Now the not so good bits: - There is insufficient car parking space. - The room is not equipped to the usual standard of motels in New Zealand (no shower gel for instance, insufficient cutlery) that we have become accustomed to. - The basin in the bathroom was cracked. - The remote for the TV was missing (the Sky one was there) which meant that you had to powere the TV on and off from the wall. This motel has potential but needs some core taking of it.

• 285traceyb (6/5): Needs Dusting - Stayed here overnight while in Christchurch, car parking was average but difficult to get into if most of the others were full. The rooms itself had a lovely first appearance but surfaces above eye level top of TV pictures etc needed dusting with random cobwebs in corners of the room. Near the top of the shower there was a dirty black mark that ran part the way round the shower. Very handy to town.

• RhondaDunedin (10/5): Great location, facilities and price - Really enjoyed our stay here. It was effortless. Clean, well appointed room with easy parking. Walking distance to centre city, restaurants and bars, and Hagley Park. It was close to bars, restaurants, bottle stores and take aways (Pedro's lamb) that the locals use. This is a great spot to see the real Christchurch but not miss the highlights. The staff were welcoming,knowledgable and really friendly. Can't imagine staying anywhere else on our next visit.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Really nice motel - Large and comfortable rooms, excellent service always greeting with a smile. The motel is 10 mins walk to the nearest supermarket, 15 mins to the park and hospital, petrol stations and places to eat nearby. The room has a spacious bathroom, very clean and all you need. There is a washing machine, washing powder, kettle, cutlery, small dining table and sofa. Wished I had stayed longer.

• bryan (10/5): Great location in easy reach of the City - A very comfortable room, near to good eating places. Easy reach of shopping centre and the park. Good off road parking close to rooms. Excellent bath to relax in ......this is a must if you are looking for accomodation in Christchurch at the price.
• R J (10/5): Everything you need - Friendly and efficient welcome with everything you need in your room, including your own washing machine and dedicated WiFi. Excellent bathroom, excellent bed, and roomy. Nice little balcony. Good restaurants within close walking distance.

• Caesey (8/5): Very convenient... - Was not the room we originally booked but the staff were very apologetic. Free WiFi was good however the charge if you go over your 1GB allocation is quite steep - also no way to track your allocation, or if it is per night or per stay. Still fantastic, would stay again.
• DAFYDDHD (8/5): One night stay - Small motel close to the city centre, well equipped and comfortable. Lydia was very helpful organizing our taxis. Very helpful when I left my wedding ring in the bathroom and kindly returned in the mail at no cost. Would recommend.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - Not a good first impression. Gardens need attention. Tall weeds at the entrance that didn't just appear with the recent rain. Booked for 2 adults and 1 child - stated the age of the child as 12, when booking, however on arrival we only have 1 queen bed! Our son is offered the pull out couch,and the lady was most helpful and came with linen and bedding, but this isn't what we had booked or what we understood we were paying for. Bedding very light and no extra bedding in the cupboard. Blind in the bathroom could do with a good clean. Have stayed here in the past, but appears to have different owners or managers.
• Ingrid (8/5): Very reasonable! - Was only staying 1 night. Room was very reasonably priced. Bathroom was a little dirty. Bit of mould/mildew that could easily be cleaned away.
• Pam (10/5): Central city studio apartment. - I was made feel most welcome from the time I checked in. The receptionist was friendly, courteous and most helpful. The first floor unit was spacious, very clean and well presented with a comfortable queen size bed with electric blanket. I loved the good size bathroom and big shower. The electrical equipment I used (electric Jug and microwave were in excellent condition. Impressed to see a front loading washing machine available for use. Off street parking at rear of unit close to all units. On check out I was again impressed with the friendliness of the receptionist and other staff.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed with service - We had used this motel in the past many times for work colleagues coming into town and it was always great. I moved overseas recently so when I need to book something in chch I picked this place. It must have changed ownership as it's certainly gone down hill. The towels were like sand paper and very tatty, worse then a towel I would use to dry my dog. The dryer didn't work on the washer/dryer so we left with wet clothes. When we phoned reception to ask if they could help the girl that came up was very rude and advised she wouldn't turn it on as we wouldn't have enough time to dry our clothes before checkout. I had just got out of the shower, no shoes on, hair wet and she said you must come downstairs not to pay as you have only paid 1 night. I told her they took my payment when we checked in but she said it was just one night that I paid. She told me I must come down now.....I told her I would get dressed first then pay at checkout. They didn't give me a receipt when I paid on arrival so I had no idea that they didn't charged us for the whole stay. They were so rude!!
