• Samson (10/5): Comfortable cosy motel - Nice little comfortable motel . Very helpful and friendly staff. We were able to catch a glimpse of the aurora just a short walk from the hotel. Definitely worth the money.

A nice, rustically presented breakfast was provided. Great friendly staff. When we asked to stay an extra night and they did not have a vacancy, however were very helpful to look for alternate places within Strahan for us.

• Suzanne (10/5): A gem in the wilderness - This was a real treasure, and after reading one or two less favourable reviews prior to our stay, we were a little apprehensive about what we might find, but many other extremely positive reviews encouraged us to have a go. It was more than worthwhile ! Our room was beautifully appointed, and more inclusions than we have found in much more ‘notable’ establishments. From the comfortable king-size bed to the spa bath, and on to the toiletries that were provided, the luxury towels, the very well-equipped and reasonably-priced mini bar, the coffee pod machine (as well as a percolator), etc, we had it all. Nigel’s welcome on arrival made us feel right at home, and the generous breakfast basket was the icing on the cake. Every little detail has been covered, and the generosity of this establishment leaves nothing to be desired. Motel Strahan represents amazing value, and we have put it on top of our ‘definitely stay again’ list.
• Sarah (4/5): - Definitely not four star! Stuff lying around, reception a conglomerate of crap, gardens/lawns weedy, overgrown, dead and dying succulents in multitudes of scrappy pots. Dirty carpet, most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, large bathroom frosted window facing onto car park where you can see what the shadows are doing inside, breakfast very ordinary, “king” bed was two old singles pushed together. I don’t usually write negative reviews but people have been saying on a variety of websites that this place is not four star for ten years!
• Kerri (8/5): - Quiet location, short walk into town, continental breakfast was a bonus, king bed. Only feedback is that the carpet and lounge chair need to be replaced.

Also continental breakfast was provided (although we didn’t eat it) The only and biggest turnoff was that the bed linen was not clean - which us most important for us.

Excellent reception service, excellent room - very modern with a king bed, excellent bathroom with a good shower and bath. If you do the Gordon River cruise - book the locally owned one - World Heritage Cruises not the Gordon River Cruises that is owned by NRMA.

The cheapest mini bar that I've ever seen in a motel - this is a nice touch. Owner also got us a discount on one of the harbour cruise boats, which was much appreciated.
• Bruce (10/5): A classey boutique hotel at a great price. - This boutique hotel has everything to offer the traveler. The room is extremely well stocked. Wine, bubbles in the fridge at reasonable prices. Crockery cutlery beautiful. Ground coffee etc. Comfortable bed. Large bathroom. Laundry facilites next door. A lot of care have gone into the grounds. Great friendly staff including Bentley.
• Verified traveler (2/5): - I did not like..... A. The property looks nothing like the photo in your advert. more like a property in India. B. The first impressions are the most Memorable and they won't leave my memories soon! The front grass (not lawn) and the gardens were a disgrace. There was a small area behind the unit which is beyond words. C. The interior was crap! We refused to stay there and found much better accomodation in the township at a cheaper rate. EXPEDIA I don't know who checks these sites but in this case they they did not do a very good job. As I pre paid for this site and did not stay there I expect you to refund my money in full!

The lady at reception was friendly and knowledgeable. The location is an easy, flat walk to the esplanade.

However, there was a coat of dust on the wall and dust balls on top of the curtain rod. We had a little courtyard which we loved, but could use some gardening as it was taking over the small space. The bathroom walls needed washing - there was something white that you could tell was dripping down the wall at one time.... If their housekeeping would address these issues, then this would be a little gem!

Our room was quite roomy, comfortable and CLEAN! Breakfast was lovely and generous in size. Washer/dryer are available at a very reasonable price with cleaners supplied. Definitely recommend..for the price you can't go wrong!
