Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): - La paradise inn. In a nut shell I think it’s very expensive for what it is. I would say in European standards it’s a 2star, the rooms are very dated and basic and the staff are so rude, this include the owner who is British Ghanaian.
I stayed in the hotel in August and I intentionally decided to wait a while before I made this review so that I would give a more reflective and honest opinion. In short spend a little more and stay somewhere nicer, we ended our stay at le Paradise Inn 3 days early because we were sold the dream. This meant we lost a lot of money, (we booked 2 rooms) as the owner wouldn’t refund us for our remaining date , even though booking.com tried to plead our case on our behalf)
It was also my birthday during the trip, and they knew this as I was the lead booker, but they didn't mention or stay anything on the day.
We ended up staying at the Kempinsky and yes it was much more expensive but defiantly the highlight of our holiday and worth every penny.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The ‘LA PARADISE INN’ is a smaller hotel which provides 9 rooms. It’s located in a lower level mixed residential/industrial area, not far from the beach. The beach hardly can be reached, since there is a larger and wasted construction ground in the opposite, in-between the hotel and the beach. Also a smaller slum area must be crossed on the way to the beach, which is not recommendable at all.
Behind the right side of the hotel an open waste water channel leads waste water directly into the ocean. After sunset lots of mosquito are coming from there. Next to the hotel a larger ‘Apostolic Church’ is located where daily evening services are held from 6pm to 9pm. On Fridays the religious services last until Saturday morning at 5am, which is very much ‘sleep taking’…!!
The rooms are clean, but very poorly furnished. The water supply is frequently insufficient. The in-room safe-lockers are key-secured. It is NOT recommendable to use them for deposing any valuables…!!
For Europeans the breakfast is just some kind of ‘snack’, but NO breakfast.
- Jacob (10/5): Great, relaxed stay near Labadi and Osu - I was traveling Ghana with my daughter and Donna and her team welcomed us with open arms. They were very helpful in all matters and made us feel very welcome in the hotel. I can highly recommend the hotel for anybody, and the pool will cool you off on those hot days. Definately coming back!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Whilst staff were friendly, Could do more to increase comfort
- mark (8/5): Hotel not on the beach as depicted but still good - Hotel set in nice gardens great to relax at the end of the day, staff all very friendly and happy to help in all matters would stay again in the future.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cute Inn in South Labadi - It is a really nice and quaint hotel with a beautifully decorated garden. They have a pool and because it such a small hotel you get to meet the other guests and there is a family feel to it. One of the reasons we picked the hotel however were because of the wifi and the pool. It was quite disappointing that throughout our stay the wifi did not work in our rooms and only in the lobby were we able to connect. Also, there were a lot of rules such as not being able to bring food from outside the hotel or the swimming pool closing quite early so we didn't get to enjoy it as we were out during the day. Overall, it was a nice stay if you're looking for somewhere quiet to retreat to and aren't too interesting in luxuries.
- Minna (8/5): Lovely cosy hotel in a nice area. Great value. - Wonderful place to stay if you appreciate a beautiful and homely place with great standards.
- Gbenga (8/5): - It was an Amazibg place , the ambience was excellent
- Daphne (2/5): Looks like someone's old house - Had a lizard in our room, then the staff sprayed the room, told us we had to wait outside until it aired out. This after a long trip to the hotel. We were cleared to go in, immediately started coughing. Requested room change, gave us a differnt room, where the towel has human hair on it. Then switched back to the other room the next day. Was not happy. Not to mention the mold on the frig
- LALIT (8/5): LA PARADISE INN - It was a good stay. The toilet just was very small. Basin and toilet had very less space in between and unable to stand as well.
Rest other things were okay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice weekend get-away - Nice little hotel with the most friendly staff located near beaches and major shopping areas. Rooms are ok but could use some upgrades on the beds. The grounds are lovely and inviting for a relaxing adult beverage in the late afternoon.
- Randy (10/5): My slice of Paradise...... - Around three that afternoon we left the family compound to take me to my hotel, La Paradise Inn off Labadi Road near the ocean. I wanted to be able to see and hear the surf; La Paradise Inn was the perfect place for me to stay in Accra. I had done my research on line for an affordable hotel in Accra and found that 98% of the reviews for La Paradise Inn were really good. All the reviews were stating the same thing, the feeling of being safe and secure and at home, during there stay in Accra at La Paradise Inn. Donna and Victor are the owners who have lovingly transformed a former school into the most wonderful slice of paradise, one of there own making. Donna and Victors eye for detail is evident in the design and layout of every aspect of this charming boutique Hotel Bar-Restaurant offers. The staff is friendly and welcoming and I just fell in love with their dog, Tiger! My room was perfect for me, large room, comfortable bed, air conditioner, Wi-Fi, sitting area and clean bathroom. Victor and Donna at there beautiful on site restaurant prepared some of the best meals that I had in Ghana. Victor is Italian so there were fresh made pasta and incredible fish dishes for me to enjoy. When I return to Ghana, there is only one place for me to stay and that’s with Donna and Victor at La Paradise Inn.
- Carl (10/5): Nice walk to the beach. - Hotel staff friendly polite and helpful. The owners are very lovely people and make your stay most enjoyable and make you feel special. A walk to the beach but it is a lovely walk, meeting people on the way who are pleasing to be with. I would say t is a small friendly hotel and would recommend to anyone who wants something more than the usual "plastic Hotel".
- Verified traveler (8/5): Eine Oase in Accra!! Tolles Essen. Eine rührige Besitzerin. Äusserst angenehmer Aufenthalt. Sanitäranlagen verbesserungswürdig.
- Mikael (4/5): Depends on what you expect!? - Is a long time since this Hotel was new!
if one is aware of it in a clear way, this hotel is quite okay.
It's a little tight hotels, the hotel has a small pool that is clean and nice to cool off in. The owners are super nice and helpful.
- Paul (10/5): Book Your Room Now - The only bad part of the experience is that I must write a review that will certainly drive up demand and thus price and assuredly increase my costs next time I visit Ghana.
Donna is like that loving, caring relative that you go to visit during the summer time when you are young. The rooms are quaint, clean and very comfortable. The courtyard and pool with the outdoor patios with tables provide the ideal ambiance for a romantic dinner at dusk. You are 150 yards off the coast so the chance for a cool and refreshing breeze are very high. You can also dine inside in a cozy indoor restaurant which is the tropical equivalent of wooded bed and breakfast-Very Cozy!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ruhig aber zentral gelegenes kleines Hotel - Nice hotel with beautiful garden. Very quiet location. Friendly staff and owner.
Booked airport pick-up didn't work. After 1 hour we took taxi.
When leaving don't take taxi recommended by hotel security staff!
We had to wait for "special" taxi recommended by hotel security staff although there were a lot of taxis in front of hotel. I think it was planned rip-off: We agreed price after short negotiation. At the end the driver wanted to have much more. We already paid much more than normal price (and as agreed at the beginning). Neverthless the driver became very agressive and wanted to get more money. Proceeding seemed to be planned...
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice hotel - It was a nice hotel, the host Donna was sweet. Breakfast was very simple, don't expect much. Couldn't get anywhere without a taxi, because of de neighborhood.
symphatische Gastgeberin
- Eddward (10/5): A Place That Lives Up To Its Name - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay of four nights. Warm, friendly atmosphere, great service, restaurant was tops with great food, creative decor made of recycled products, and helpful service. This facility has an intimate atmosphere that felt very comfortable and "at home."
- Girish (8/5): Nice and comfortable - The stay was made comfortable by Donna especially as she was taking efforts to dine me in the most hospitable way . Also the hotel staff was very kind and friendly.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Started off wrong with confusion around checking and they wanted to charge to use the iron
- Natasha (8/5): Not bad for a budget - Nice small villa type place to stay. Donna is really kind and extremely helpful for tips on getting around. We used her driver (Eddie) to get to a number of places and he was great. Staff is overwhelming friendly and really go out of their way to make you comfortable.
Drawbacks would be Donna's husband. You don't see him much, but he's rude, insensitive, unwelcoming and the last thing you would expect from a 'host'. He's the opposite of Donnna. Rooms are not super comfortable and wear and tear is becoming evident. Was often noisy in the middle of the night and early in the morning. Pool is intimate and small and only saw older men in or sunbathing by it, making it uncomfortable for a younger female to want to go for a quick dip.
- JR (8/5): Clean and Friendly Hotel, area a bit noisy - We had a nice stay in that Hotel. The staff was very friendly. We got an Apartment instead of a Studio and were happy, but then we couldn't use the kitchen because the Hotel didn't open the gas for us. They said this wasn't in the price. We didn't know that and we bought a lot of foods and eventually couldn't cook, which was disappointing because they weren't obliging and we couldn't get to an agreement.
But totally we were happy in the Hotel, the pool is nice and the food delicious. The protestant church next to the Hotel was very noisy, people sang and shouted until 22hrs...
- Dovi (8/5): Lovely stay - La Paradise inn is a very cosy guest house. Donna Does her best to make guests feel like home.
The room Was clean and The AC works without any pb.
The restaurant Was very good. I add a Special "Bravo" for The Pancakes with home made jam ( like a tropical marmelade!!!) at Breakfast.
The garden is lovely and The swimming pool is clean.
Thank you Donna.
See you.
- andrew (10/5): Donna makes a difference - I visited Accra as a tourist, and Donna understood my circumstances and needs. She had helpful and reasonable taxi drivers to help get around, helpful and supportive hotel staff, understanding of good things to do and provided a quiet retreat to relax in the pool.
- Julian (10/5): Friendly and Comfortable - I spent a very enjoyable week at La Paradise. Donna the owner was attentive, friendly and helpful. All the staff did their best to make my stay as hassle-free and pleasant as possible. I highly recommend it for those who want a personal touch rather than the impersonality of the larger hotels.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a great stay. The staff are delightful. Breakfast is delicious and the pool is great.
- douglas (10/5): Security, comfort and first class concierge - Owner Donna and her devoted staff make this hotel a hidden gem in challenging Accra.
The location is convenient to downtown and airport, as well as the execellent artists' collective gallery. Full english breakfast is available and fresh-squeezed orange juice accompanies breakfast.
