Guest Reviews
- christopher (8/5): - Having had many visits over the years we still enjoyed a pleasant stay. Some of the entertainment was excellent most of the staff very kind and cheerful one or two need to improve there hospitality skills. We witnessed too many people taking early sunbeds. It seemed as though some were allowed to get away to reserve early, others had there things baged how was this allowed.

- Azhar (10/5): Excellent stay at adult-only hotel, would go again. - Excellent location at quieter end of Los Christianos strip.
Adult only as was my preference.
Supermarket nearby, and restaurants within short walk.
Nice double poola and bar areas.
Nice hanging gardens theme around hotel.
Excellent wide range of buffet breakfast and dinner.
Surprised me with a message and drinks on my birthday! Having to pay for room safe, usually standard free.
Pools opening (later) and closing (earlier) times than other hotels stayed and considering it's adult only.

- Julie (9/5): A pleasure! Super hotel. Will definitely be back!! - The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. Great quality, well cooked and great variety.
The fitness classes were excellent. Great gym and pools.
Terrific staff.

- Eugen (2/5): - К сожалению спустя 2 года пребывания здесь, все сильно ухудшилось. От рецепции с выцветшими диванами до номеров. Мы делали возврат. Тк оставаться в таком отеле не было желания!

- MAUREEN (9/5): Lovely relaxing stay. - Lovely relaxing stay. Wonderful heated pool and aqua activities. Robe and slippers in my room, felt like I was staying in a luxury spa hotel, spa amenities available if you wanted to use those. Nice and quiet at the far end of Los Cristianos but easily accessible to shops, bars, restaurants in the area.
- carolinew541 (8/5): lovely hotel second visit - Lovely hotel which I had visited several years ago set on the far end of the promenade , away from the hustle and bustle which is just how I like it with everything accessible if you wanted. Great room which overlooked the pool and the sea, weather atrocious however the hotel extremely comfortable with sports in bar area in day and a quiet reading room where you could play games if wanted. Food in hotel was very good with lots of choice and in the majority very helpful waiting staff. I would recommend and a place where if I was travelling alone I would feel very comfortable.
- Jet737181 (10/5): Lovely - The first time saying at this hotel very nice amazing food staff very friendly room was lovely the sun was on it at early evening room number 451 4 floor the hotel was very inviting when you first go into reception big open space when meeting people they were saying they be coming for years to the hotel I can see my

- MoD972 (10/5): A relaxing break - A lovely week of relaxation. A bonus to get a room upgrade. Loved having a robe and slippers in my room. Pool areas just wonderful and enjoyed all the facilities on offer.
- I4839LRchristinek (10/5): Excellent for a relaxing break - Beautiful plants and lovely decor. Clean and friendly staff. Best food I’ve seen in a hotel. Like 5 star. Very relaxing hotel
- M3089KYfreds (8/5): Good but transfers bad - Had a good stay once again, Booked a week in the up experience and that suited us perfectly.
Premium drinks and quality food from 10am till 6pm perfect. It’s very chilled and relaxing up on the roof and you get the sun all day when it pops over the mountain.
The room was ok if a little tired, for the premium price I would expect the rooms to be a little more upgraded. The only difference between the up rooms and standard rooms are a coffee machine and a good sea view, that’s it.
Also if any management are reading this you really need some insulation between the party walls as you can hear everything from the other rooms incredibly clear.
Unfortunately we had the world coughing champion next to us who liked to get up at 06.30 every morning and start. The hotel would not have any insulation when built so it would be nice to have soundproofing sorted out.
The transfer service that the hotel uses now is awful. You used to get a taxi transfer which was perfect now it’s a shared minibus from a company called sierra y Gonzales and they are awful. On both transfers our names were not on the list and the people running sierra y Gonzales are rude unhelpful and arrogant, a small bloke with an attitude and chip on his shoulder telling us your not on the list your not getting on the bus even though it’s half empty.
When we missed the bus back to Tfs because we wasn’t on the list the reception guy was as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike, didn’t want to know. Not the sort of problem solving I expect from this hotel.
Apart from that inconvenience it’s a great hotel with a brilliant buffet breakfast and dinner. Evening entertainment was good with a good variety of different acts. If you want to see something different Rod Stewart & Elvis are on at Charley’s bar on the roundabout. Enjoy
- F9999YZanthonyd (8/5): Don’t rely on free airport transfer - We have stayed at Arona Gran many times over the last few years and always enjoyed the whole experience.
The ‘free’ transfer from airport to hotel should not be relied on. This year they have changed their supplier of this service. Our flight was delayed by about two hours and when we got to the booth at the airport, we were told , by a very miserable man that we had missed our slot! We were given no help and had to to find and then get in the long taxi queue. We obviously had to pay for the taxi. When it was reported to the hotel reception there was basically no response. I have subsequently sent several emails to Arona Gran regarding this but have not even had the courtesy of a reply. It is NOT about the cost of the taxi but really just advising them that the new taxi service is not good. Also, response to my many emails would be nice!!
Apart from this the hotel, as always, was great
- Richard (9/5): Fabulous stay at the Arona Gran - The hotel is in a nice location on the sea front. Lovely bedrooms with everything you would need. A great choice of options at breakfast. The pool area and interior of the hotel are very well kept. It has a very well appointed gym looking over the seafront. The Staff were super helpful and friendly and I really enjoyed my stay Nothing
- ajkedar (10/5): The only way for us is UP ! - We have just returned from two weeks on our 4th visit to the UP Roof Terrace and loved our holiday. We book direct with hotel on their excellent website. You pay on arrival and easy cancellation if required. Early bookings for spring card holders get a decent discount. The hotel will book your flights but we prefer to arrange our own on an airline we prefer. Adult only hotel. Stephanie actually was so nice at checking in , which has not always been the experience at reception on past visits!
The UP option is definitely expensive but it totally suits our needs and worth it in our opinion. We are avid readers and so appreciate the quiet relaxed space with guaranteed sun loungers. We have zero interest in all the many activities on offer at the main pool areas downstairs. So if you enjoy that maybe UP not for you ? The terrace can be draughty if windy as you are on roof , ,so have a fleece handy. Terrace does not open till 10am but again perfect for us. Keen walkers and able to walk a few miles after breakfast. Super UP team to look after you. This year Anthony and Laura with Steffi saying hello to the guests. You have complimentary branded drinks and nice nibbles available all day. We thought the range and quality improved this year. If you stay 7 days or more a complimentary dinner at Jarea restaurant on Tuesday or Friday evening. Lovely tasting menu.
Our UP room was perfect with everything provided. Comfortable but pillows were dire! Maybe hotel should take note. Supposed to be pillow menu but no sign in our room.
Wonderful walk-in shower and bathroom. Super shower gel and creams. The room was beautifully serviced every day and kept spotless as was the whole hotel. WiFi was excellent this year after past issues. Actually should be as this is essential given 2026!
Breakfasts are excellent and start at 7.30. Huge selection. Not sure why door to outside area was jammed open given another automatic entrance. We had to shut as very cool draught as no way we were sitting frozen!
Dinner llwas definitely an improvement! We actually had some hot dishes and the carvery had excellent quality meat. There is fish and meat grill too. Huge hotel so can crazy busy but we hang back and go down later. Nice cheese selection as were the dessert options. We had the extra efficient Clem looking after us and was our preferred area to sit at dinner. So friendly and bright and does make such a difference!
Evening entertainment was on the whole fun with one or two not to our taste. The best were the ones who encouraged people to dance and we met some lovely fun guests.
So a huge thank you to all at Arona Gran for a wonderful holiday. We intend to see you all in 2027 !

- Steven (8/5): Last minute 1 night stay, lovely hotel but very expensive for one night - Clean; fresh and lovely decorated The breakfast was luke warm
- PollyG522 (10/5): Lovely, comfortable hotel. - Lovely, stylish adults only hotel. Friendly staff and great pools. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and enjoyed going out to different restaurants for dinner.
We had room 627, it was spacious and spotless with a very comfortable bed, the only downside was the lack of sun on the balcony at any time. So if you want sunshine check with the hotel and if you travel with Jet 2 DON’T book a “pool and side sea view” room.
- eileent391 (8/5): Beautiful hotel and mostly good and happy staff. - We have stayed at this hotel several times (and also sister hotels Bitacora and Vulcano) and always enjoy our stay. The staff are mostly very welcoming and have been there years, which is always a good sign. The food is good for such a large hotel, but I feel it can be a bit repetative and (maybe at this time of year) no alternative restaurant open in the evening.
The restaurant staff are very good and clear used cutlery etc quckly and equally serve and save your bottle of wine with the evening meal.
The bar staff are good except for the bar near the stage and sports bar .We found they were often slow to serve or forgot the order, but of course it was the end of a busy day for them. My husband was disappointed not to be able to order an evening cafe latte though.
The cleanliness is good though my bed was not properly made at one point (I had to remake it).
To be honest I was a bit disappointed with our room.Having booked directly through the hotel I hoped we might get a better room but this was smaller than usual, on the corner with NO SUN at all throughout the day and evening which made it too cold to sit out on though the views were very good, and it seemed a bit "tired" could do with a refurbish..When we have travelled with Jet2 we are ALWAYS allocated a room on the sunless side but usually bigger than this one. I didn't bother asking about a room with a bit of sun as the hotel was full.
One minor niggle was when someone stole my towel!.I We had literally left the sunbed to go 20 yards away for an afternoon coffee and were away 25 minutes max to find someone had removed MY towel (not my husbands).I explained this to the pool staff but he snatched a note from my hand and implied I would be charged for the "extra" towel.I spoke to recepcion and was rebuked for it (my responsibility etc)., however they didn't charge for it.
This may sound very critical , but it was just my experience this time and would not put me off staying at this well run and attractive hotel.
- deansZ7403JA (10/5): A gem of a hotel - It was our first time at the Arona Gran Hotel On Tenerife. On entering the Hotel foyer, this was the real wow factor, We have ever encountered. The reception staff made us very welcome. Everything was explained to us about the facilities, which where magnificent. The room was clean, plenty of room to move around, good wardrobe and cupboard space, even robe and slippers. The food was plentiful and definitely too much choice. The pool area was comfortable and one pool had warm water, also there was a Jacuzzi near by. There were aerobic sessions in the pool, some sessions were took by Miguel who was very enthusiastic, and entertaining. All the staff from the room cleaner, catering staff, reception, and pool life guard were all very pleasant. Would recommend all of the above. Enjoyed the area and surroundings, would come again.
- timr711 (10/5): I would certainly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Tenerife. - The hotel is very welcoming, staff are all excellent, hotel was clean and well cared for. We stayed in the UP level which was well worth it and very comfortable.
- Peter (8/5): -
- annarV8893KB (10/5): Arona Gran Hotel - Good location close to the sea. Quiet area. Grocery store very close.
We were happy with the room. Very friendly staff. Tasty breakfast and dinner with good ingredients and good selection.
Exceptionally good opportunities for activities at the hotel. There are three heated swimming pools and water training with an instructor every day. One pool is extra warm and has several types of water massage. There is a very well-equipped gym with the option of group training with an instructor every day. There is also entertainment in the evenings.
- Barbara (10/5): I only stayed for one night, but the Hotel was wonderful and the breakfast exceeded my expectations - The breakfast was out of this world, fantastic!! It exceeded my expectations.
- s0uthwinds58 (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Beautiful hotel.run by well trained and motivated staff. A child free hotel which seems to be enjoyed mostly by the over 40s . On a level prom it’s a short walk into Los Cris which still retains its old Canaries charm with plenty of shops and bars near by.
Rooms are spotless clean and very comfortable…with all the amenities you expect. We like a side sea view room which benefits from sun all day in February. Some pool view rooms will get shade in winter..so check if this is an issue.
Food in the dining room is ample and varied . Even a range of honey at breakfast. Clean white table cloths on each table and freshly laundered napkins too. A beautiful room with views across to the harbour.
Evening entertainment starts with a piano performance..followed by a singer and later a tribute act. There is a sports bar for the sports fans.
The hotel is so popular it has a fans Facebook page..
Just book it you won’t be disappointed.
- JBG1 (10/5): Our 3rd visit to this first class hotel for adults only in a perfect location - This was our 3rd visit to this superb hotel which is ideally located in this resort and we got off to a good start by being allocated a room on the 5th floor in a location we like.
The standard of our room was of a high standard as expected, topped off by being comfortable and spotless. Our room lady Sandra ensured that our room stayed this way throughout our 16 night holiday. Enjoying sunshine throughout the day with lovely views in a most enjoyable ambiance, ensures you have the basis of a good holiday.
Both the interior and exterior gardens/pool areas have a nice feeling to them and are kept really clean
The restaurant served a wide range of quality food both at breakfast and dinner which was just one of the reasons why you see so many repeat guests. Favoured dishes which were selected by dining gusts were frequently refilled by staff to ensure no one lost out. Gala Night on Wednesdays is always extra outstanding and the lady violinist who plays throughout and the free glass of Cava makes it just that bit extra special.
Arsenis the Floor Manager ensures things go smoothly and the standard of the restaurant staff is very good. We were fortunate to have the services of Juarno and Christina on a regular basis who ensured an efficient and friendly service.
Entertainment in the bar during the evening we found this year was a bit hit & miss. Acts like Elton John, the Queen Project, Barry White, The Bee Gees, Arthur Petersen and Soul & Motown were in our opinion the outstanding performers of our holiday but on some evenings the supporting acts were better than some of the other main performers. The pianists playing in The Lobby each evening were always good to listen and relax to.
Due to an unfortunate accident by the pool on my second day I was unable to use the pool or gym facilities which I always enjoy. I must however mention Joyo the pool lifeguard who gave me first class medical assistance at the time.
I must conclude by saying that the professional way in which Vicky The Reception Manager dealt with my incident was appreciated by both my wife and I . We hope to return in 2027 for another enjoyable holiday in a hotel we really like.
- anniem15 (10/5): Chilled break - We have just returned from a 10 day break at this hotel. We regularly visit Tenerife but have not been to the hotel or area since 2019. Had a fantastic peaceful chilled out break. Everything was impeccable from the service in the bars & restaurants to the pools & activities. We upgraded to the Up package & although this was expensive in our opinion it was worth every penny. Because our visit was in winter the rooftop terrace gave us full days of sunshine while the main pool was often shaded for parts of the day. Comfortable sunbeds & the daily food /drink options were varied & plentiful. Our room was on the 5th floor but super fast lifts meant you never waited more than a few seconds for a one. What we saw of the entertainment was decent but wasn’t too keen on the venue. It was basically in a basement room with large pillars which often restricted your view of the acts. The atmosphere was a bit staid. We preferred to go out & visit some of the many walkable bars & sample some of the acts there. Couple of small points which didn’t impact on our holiday but could be improved on. The pillows were awful… so flat & need replaced. Also we have never stayed in a 4 star hotel that does not offer a porter service. This wasn’t a huge issue for us as we are able bodied but many guests were elderly & infirm. That being said although we don’t normally return to hotels as we prefer to visit different places we wouldn’t hesitate to come back if we were looking for a peaceful break.
- N4843UWchriss (10/5): Outstanding hotel - with great pool areas, amazing breakfast. - This hotel is marvellous - really recommend it. The rooms are really nice, and cleaned with care every day, and the breakfast is out of this world - we have never seen such variety of things to choose between, and with a beautiful view out over the sea.
The 3 pools and the poolside area are beautiful, the Jacuzzi is great, and two of the three pools are heated. The attention to detail and cleanliness around the hotel property is outstanding. There are activities organized around the hotel every day, including entertainment every night, including a pianist playing at the piano bar most evenings. The clientelle are typically a little older, and this is probably not a place you would bring children, but for a family with elder teenagers and young adults it would be great, as well as for couples. Ping-pong table, biljards table, games room etc are all available to play.
- sixty28 (10/5): Excellent!! - Our second time here and loved it. We asked for a particular room area and we were not let down. The staff are brilliant. The food is excellent, so much choice. We would highly recommend this hotel. Once Tenerife airport have the problems sorted we would like to come back. This year was a nightmare arrival and departure. Nothing you can do about that. Wonderful hotel. Thank you.
- Clare (9/5): Excellent - We had made an error on our booking with Booking.com and Stephanie on reception was wonderful and sorted it all out for us. We booked half board and wanted to to have lunch instead of dinner which was not possible.
There were no shower caps or tissues in the room.
- tripsaway1234 (10/5): The perfect holiday hotel - This is a fantastic holiday hotel in a great location and its adults only. The buffet selection both at breakfast and dinner is superb, we love the restaurant and the use of proper tablecloths etc which makes it a little bit more special. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are well appointed. The staff really make this hotel, they are all without exception helpful and pleasant and immaculately dressed and the meet the staff/management sessions round the pool were a fantastic idea and clearly indicate that the management are willing to listen and meet the guests. This was our second visit after almost 30 years of visiting the Vulcano (sister hotel and long time guests will understand why we no longer visit) and we cannot wait to return.
- pumpernickelYork (8/5): A very relaxing holiday - We had a very enjoyable ten day stay at the Arona Gran in February 2026. Our room was on the first floor (Room 167) which was on the same level as reception. This was so convenient as it meant we never needed to use a lift and it was so quick to pop back to the room from the pool when we needed to. Check in on arrival was really fast but I had already downloaded the Spring Hotels app and checked in online beforehand.
The room was spacious and clean and had a beautiful view of the pools and the sea. Bathrobes and slippers were provided and good towels, toiletries, magnifying mirror and hairdryer. The fridge was big enough for tall bottles and kept our drinks and snacks really cold. We didn't use the safe as there is an additional 3 Euro charge per day. I do think a safe should be included in the cost of a hotel room. The balcony had an awning which, at this time of year, didn't give any shade as the sun was too low, however I'm not complaining about the heat! It was a wonderful temperature, between 23 and 26 degrees every day. Our only complaint about the room was the terrible pillows. They were old, flat, hard and uncomfortable and despite changing them and asking for more, they were all the same. You can order a pillow from a menu for an extra fee but again, surely a decent pillow should be included in the cost of the room.
The staff work hard keeping the whole of the hotel and outside areas spotless. It was one of our best holiday poolside experiences - very comfortable sun beds, no loud music and no smoking allowed (except in designated areas away from others). This made such a difference to us, especially as no smoking is allowed anywhere in the hotel except in the 3 designated areas - so no smoking on balconies and polluting other people's rooms and space which has ruined holidays for us in the past.
Regarding noise. We had absolutely no noise at all from neighboring rooms however The Roca Blanca Beach Club is right next door and on one day of our holiday they held a big birthday party with a shouting DJ, extremely loud music and lots of screaming, very drunk people. We couldn’t enjoy sitting by the pool or on our balcony that day. The noise level was unacceptable and we were surprised the hotel hadn’t complained. However we did find out that a hotel guest complained directly to the Roca Blanca bar manager and miraculously the sound was turned down immediately. Apparently the speakers had been facing the Arona Gran so they had moved them and turned the music down. This really should have been the job of the hotel manager and not the guests to make the complaint. This bar doesn’t hold these types of parties every day but they do have regular party bookings so it might be worth checking what they’ve got on before you book this hotel if this sort of noise bothers you.
There are three pools. A small, very warm one with water jets and jacuzzi, a large heated one and a large unheated one. The aquafit, aqua-yoga and aqua-gym all take place in the large heated pool every day and was great fun. The unheated pool was perfect for the really hot days. There’s also a gym and table tennis. Pool towels are available at the pool and you can have a fresh one every day. There is a beauty spa but we didn’t use it so can’t comment. You can upgrade to UP! which gives you access to the roof top pool but we were more than happy with the main pools.
We were half board so had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The breakfasts were amazing with absolutely everything you would expect, including porridge, cereals, fresh fruit, dried fruits, cheeses, breads and all the usual cooked options. Lovely freshly squeezed orange juice is available as well as cava, lots of types of teas and good coffee from the smaller machines. Avoid the larger machine for the coffee pots, this was watery and didn't taste of anything. The evening meals were equally as good with just far too much to choose from. The salad selection was amazing and we frequently had freshly cooked prawns, fish, steak and lamb. There’s an extensive wine list (the house wine is about 15 Euros) and you have to pay 3 Euros for a large bottle of water.
It’s a good idea to take your own water bottle as the hotel provides free filtered water in coolers around the hotel which is a great environmental initiative, but you can’t take this water into the dining room.
Directly opposite the main entrance to the hotel is a HyperDino supermarket. The back of the hotel faces onto the promenade and the sea. You can walk along the promenade from the hotel into Los Christianos and Playa de las Americas and if you keep going you’ll reach Costa Adeje. The nice thing about Arona Gran is it’s situated away from all the madness of Playa de las Americas and is right at the far end of Los Christianos, so it’s nice and quiet. Another reason we were bemused they’d opened the beach bar next door - it’s really in the wrong place and can’t get much passing trade.
We took a trip to Mount Teide national park and went up in the cable car. We also took the public bus to La Laguna which really is a beautiful place and worth a visit.
All in all we were extremely happy with our holiday and would definitely return.
- 834yvonnes (10/5): We’ll definitely return - Our one week holiday at Arona Grand was a great experience.
The wide range of delicious food on offer made meal times a pleasure; we were spoilt for choice . The hotel’s restaurant staff also impressed us . Despite the high numbers of guests Esperanza was dealing with, she astonished us by remembering the range of drinks my family prefer with our evening meals. Alexis served us in both the pool side restaurants and then again during the later evening shows, but he never failed to be welcoming and ensured we had the correct drinks, too.
The hotels’ pools were lovely, with no problem getting sunbeds in shaded locations . I loved the daily Aqua Fitness sessions, even though I am not usually a fan of exercise . The poolside jacuzzi with massage jets was pure bliss afterwards, too.
Another enjoyable surprise was the entertainment on offer in the evenings. I am a huge fan of Queen and Tina Turner, so seeing two decent tribute acts at the hotel during our holiday stay made evenings a genuine pleasure .
On a final note, the hotel’s location is perfect. The hotel is at the furthest end of Los Cristianos town, so the promenade next to the hotel is much quieter. There are far less street vendors there trying to sell goods, and a pleasant walk from there gave us access to all the town’s amenities.
My only tiny criticism of the hotel is the room’s refillable soap and shower gel bottles. They are a great eco-friendly idea, but bottles need to be checked during every cleaner’s visit, as our almost empty bottles were not automatically refilled when the room was cleaned.
- deewY4973QU (10/5): Love this hotel and volvermos! - This is not our first time staying at the Arona Gran will it most definitely not be our last! As former property owners just up the road in Parque Tropical for 20+ years when we sold and decided to come back each year this hotel was our first choice! Yes you may pay a little more but you get what you pay for! The staff, location and food just make this hotel perfect if you’re looking for a chilled out and first class experience. We had (and had previously) a side sea view and this was on purpose as the sun rose and fell on the 2nd floor (room 207 which I had requested again). Check in, breakfast (Esperanza), dinner (Rueben) are delightful. The rooms are comfortable and clean (possibly could do with a bit of an upgrade - sorry guys). Although the ambiance is beautiful I do think the check in is limited to make it look pretty but just does not work. Each time as only 2 full and 2 half desks it took too long although we had completed online check in it didn’t appear to work. Also although we arrived at 3.00pm we were told our room was not ready but c’est la vie an excuse to go over the road neck a couple of beers and come back, although they did message to say it was then ready but the beer was calling!!!!! All the moaning folks just carry on - too many old people, too much choice for food - just get a life! We’re not old (ok maybe a little bit) but the Arona Gran is wonderful. Thank you guys, we’ll be back soon.
- R1689BXchrisr (6/5): Visit to Tenerife - I booked a room with a sea view, what I got was a room with half a sea view and a balcony/terrace that was permanently in shade. The room itself was fine but its location within hotel complex was poor. Having said that the room was always very clean and well appointed. The staff and the service were both excellent and the food first class. The location of the hotel was perfect being away from the bustle of the main shopping area but being within easy walking distance. In my view the travel agents need to be more specific regarding the position of the rooms. I would gladly have paid a premium to secure a room with a better outlook and one with more light availability.
- michaeljohnkelleys (10/5): #1 in my book. - If Arona Gran is #45 I’d like to know the other 44 because I don’t know them.
This “UP” Package ticks every box with all the people that I talk with.
The staff are so professional and genuinely friendly.
The food offering is very the best I found anywhere.
- grahambillups671 (10/5): Hotel review - Excellent hotel ,food was brilliant lots of choices, staff very friendly and helpful , very very clean in all areas
- X511YZpeterk (10/5): A lovely relaxing holiday - This is the 5th time we have stayed at the Arona gran and it has always been a great relaxing holiday. The staff, the service are first class and the buffet magnificent. The hotel
and grounds have a quiet charm and are in a lovely position on the promenade, just right for a morning stroll after breakfast.
Entertainment of an evening has also been good and other facilities like the gym and spa are of a high standard.a
- dgjd62 (10/5): Fantastic holiday - A Lovely holiday in the Arona Gran. First class hotel with excellent staff. Looking forward to returning later in the year.
- rosemaryb215 (6/5): Just ok - Nice bedrooms kind staff hotel very clean
Food ok a bit rushed and full on .. toooooo many people at one go
Packed lots pushing to get to food
Did not want to go BACK after many years
- Boros (10/5): - A gyönyörű szálloda épület kívül belül.
- romaecda (10/5): Perfect Holiday - This hotel is truly stunning — the kind of place that takes your breath away the moment you arrive. Check in was swift and efficient, and although the reception team felt a little formal, they were informative and welcoming. The complimentary glass of fizz or orange juice on arrival was a lovely touch.
We stayed in a first floor room, high enough to enjoy a beautiful sea view from the balcony while still being able to avoid the lift. The room was exceptionally spacious, with plenty of storage, a sofa, two armchairs, and a large bathroom featuring both a bath and a separate shower. The lighting was excellent, and the small vanity mirror was perfect for makeup or shaving.
The pool area is absolutely gorgeous, with two large pools and a small jacuzzi, as well as plenty of daytime activities. I’ve genuinely never seen so many people taking part in water aerobics! There’s also a glass balustrade by the outdoor bar offering wonderful ocean views. Sunbeds in that prime spot were hard to come by, though — some guests were reserving them very early despite signs advising against it. Fortunately, there are lots of beds overall, although at times we found ourselves chasing the sun. I imagine this is less of an issue in peak summer.
The buffet restaurant was a real highlight. The food quality is exceptional, and the staff are super friendly and seem genuinely happy in their work. Tablecloths, linen napkins, and freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning all added to the experience. The variety and standard of the food were outstanding — fish, seafood, chicken, pork, beef, and some of the most varied vegetarian options I’ve seen at a hotel. The gala night was a particularly lovely touch, with local singers, flowers for the ladies, and a glass of fizz. It was the only evening we had to queue, but understandable given the occasion. The restaurant opens at 6:30pm, so be aware of the queue for the doors opening — though with food being replenished constantly, there’s really no need to rush.
Evening entertainment wasn’t quite our style, and felt geared toward an older audience. We saw a few acts: the Michael Bublé tribute only did a handful of his songs, the Beatles tribute was decent but talked a bit too much, and the Barry White act also mixed in songs from other artists. In the end, we preferred heading down the road to Charley’s Bar, where the Elvis tribute was much better. The ABC app is great for checking local entertainment — something the hotel may want to suggest to guests, and perhaps review their own line up to ensure value for money.
Overall, this is a fabulous hotel that I would absolutely recommend. Some guests describe the clientele as mature, but honestly, they often have the best taste, the freedom to travel whenever they wish, and the means to enjoy life’s finer things. Long live the octogenarians!
- stevebW4998BG (10/5): Superb hotel - Young thinking couple in our 50’s had a lovely time.
Fantastic hotel. Sunbeds in abundance. Amazing selection of food (huge buffet options). Pools were warm and close to everything. The only slight downside was that the entertainment was mediocre at best. We booked the UP experience for our last 2 days and was well worth it. Incredible views from the rooftop, food was great during the day and the infinity pools were quiet, warm and relaxing. We were upgraded to an UP room, which was perfectly fine.
- scottishleader (8/5): Enjoyable Stay Thanks to Staff, but Room for Real Improvement - I returned to the 4-star adults-only Arona Gran Tenerife, perfectly situated at the end of the Los Cristianos boardwalk. Arrival was welcoming with a glass of fizz and friendly recognition as a returning guest. My room wasn’t ready at 1pm, so I checked in and went straight to the pool to begin the holiday.
The pool itself is excellent – one heated and one cooler for proper swimming – but the surrounding area looked rather grubby for much of the fortnight, clearly affected by outsourcing cleaning with a brief power wash at the end of my second week.
I was first allocated room 323, sold as a sea view but really more of a side view. There is no porter service, and as I’m recovering from a broken wrist this was frustrating. I asked reception for assistance while they were quiet, but none was offered. With an ageing clientele, the hotel needs better awareness of hidden disabilities and some basic help with luggage. After raising my concerns I was moved to room 446, which had a wonderful balcony and magnificent sunsets, and I was very comfortable there.
What truly makes the Arona Gran are its people.
• Alexis at the bar was always friendly and made sure guests were looked after.
• Arsenio in the restaurant ensured I had a table and felt welcome as a solo traveller.
• Manuelo at the pool bar kept everyone smiling, serving drinks and helping with umbrellas.
• Nicola delivered an outstanding hot stone massage in the spa.
• Virginia from the animation team brought great energy, especially during aqua gym.
• Gloria’s aqua yoga to Hans Zimmer music was a real highlight.
• Rueben in the restaurant was warm, engaging and worked incredibly hard.
• Adrian in the bar was attentive and professional.
• Vicky on reception was genuinely helpful and remembered me at check-out.
These staff are the heart of the hotel and deserve real recognition.
Sadly, the food is what lets the hotel down. Breakfast is very good – fresh orange juice, excellent made-to-order omelettes and poached eggs were a delight. Dinner feels unfocused with too much choice and not enough quality. Soups were often disappointing, fish and meats inconsistent, and desserts largely bought-in. There was noticeable food waste; a smaller, better-executed menu would suit both guests and the kitchen. Hygiene on the grill also needs closer attention, and the head chef was never visible in the evenings.
Evening entertainment was average for a 4-star hotel. Tribute acts to Tina Turner, Elton John and Queen were enjoyable, but many shows felt repetitive and one night most guests walked out, yet the act has been rebooked. The piano bar is lovely, particularly when Yasmina plays, though it often competes with football noise.
Wi-Fi remains patchy and requires constant logins, something that should be easily resolved.
Suggestions for management
• Reintroduce porter assistance and improve awareness of hidden disabilities.
• Bring pool cleaning back in-house with daily standards.
• Reduce dinner choice and focus on quality while tackling food waste.
• Ensure visible kitchen leadership and better grill hygiene.
• Refresh the entertainment programme and return piano music to the proper lounge area.
• Stabilise Wi-Fi for guests.
The Arona Gran has huge potential and could be a true jewel of the Canaries. The investment in refurbishments are evident, but cutbacks are noticeable and affect the overall experience. I would return for the wonderful staff and the sunsets, hoping management invests in the details needed to restore genuine 4-star quality.
- Oneoff21 (10/5): Thoroughly recommend - Still here, till Friday. This is our fourth year at Arona Gran will not be the last can see why so many return year after year. The hotel and staff are beyond reproach everyone and everything is 1st class. The amenities available are fantastic fully equipped gym, three pools, 2 heated, entertainment every evening, best buffet in town. Fully recommend 5🌠
- joanne (10/5): Excellent - It was a perfect hotel in a perfect location. All staff were friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. Nothing
- 686carole (10/5): Arona Gran excelled yet again. - We have just returned from another holiday at the wonderful Arona Gran.It was our 6th. visit and it excelled yet again. It is an extremely relaxing & comfortable hotel & maintains a high standard throughout, food, rooms, cleanliness, excellent staff & a superb location,it is without doubt the best hotel we have stayed in.We’ll be back, thank you Arona Gran.
- F9324NIcarolineb (10/5): Fantastic winter break - My husband and I had a fabulous time at the Arona Gran. We were warmly welcomed at reception and each given a glass of Cava. We were allocated a lovely sea view room on the 4th floor and enjoyed the fabulous food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. There were 2 large pools and a jacuzzi and plenty of sunbeds that you couldn’t reserve before 10am. We also enjoyed 2 days having the UP experience at the end of our week which I would thoroughly recommend. The views from the rooftop were absolutely superb. All in all a fantastic week. We will definitely be back.
- maria0643 (10/5): Coming back! - Friendly helpful staff, big rooms, perfectly clean. Beautiful views if you book a room with sea view. Great food at the buffet restaurant and the breakfast is the best one there is! Just a very lovely, calm and relaxing place.
- Millbay123 (10/5): Another brilliant holiday - Just spent another 2 weeks here and look forward to doing it again next year. The hotel is very clean and well presented. The rooms are clean and spacious. The restaurant offers everything that you could wish for and caters for all diets.
There are plenty of sunbeds, so no need to worry about not getting a bed. Its based at the end of the promenade with a nice walk into Los Cristianos. The hotel seems to be more suitable for the older generation. The staff are all very helpful and friendly.
- GeoffMH (10/5): A thoroughly enjoyable stay. - We spent a week at the Arona Gran hotel (23rd-30th January 2026) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
First impressions on arriving at the hotel were very good, reception staff were pleasant and helpful and offered us a drink while we checked in. Our room on the 4th floor was ready for us, which was good.
We had opted for a sea view room which overlooked the hotel’s pools and across to Los Cristianos ferry terminal, beach and town. The room was clean and well furnished, with extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe. The balcony was large with decent reclining chairs and footstools. Room cleaning service was excellent, with towels changed when we asked and toiletries replenished.
The only thing we would have changed was to have had a walk-in shower rather than the over-bath shower we had. I think some rooms have walk-in showers, so if this is important to you then perhaps ask when you book.
We were staying on half-board basis. There was always plenty of choice of hot or cold food at both breakfast and evening meals. The food was always well presented and well cooked and the staff were always pleasant.
There is a large comfortable lounge area on floor zero which includes: a show lounge, separate sports lounge and separate library/card room. Again staff were always pleasant and on-hand when required.
The pool area is large with lots of sun beds and was always clean, sun beds being hosed down every morning. The hotel discourages people from ‘bagging’ sun beds, but some people still chance it. We saw the pool lifeguard removing towels and other personal belongs. Well done Arona Gran.
The hotel also provides water machines around the hotel, which was very welcome.
We didn’t use the ‘Up’ facility so can’t comment on this.
To sum up: we found the hotel very clean, staff always pleasant and the catering of a high standard. We would definitely come back.
- paulwO460GS (10/5): An all round excellent hotel - A return visit to this hotel. The impressive public areas are notable not just for their scale but also for their scrupolous cleanliness. All staff whether management, housekeeping or catering are friendly and helpful. The rooms like the public areas are very clean and well maintained (if becoming a touch tired). The catering is impressive, a very wide choice at both breakfast and dinner, the catering team are proffesional. helpful and clearly well managed. In conclusion this is a very well managed hotel with outstanding facilities and rates VERY highly as a holiday destination. I will return.
- Axlebroke656 (6/5): Cleanliness - This Hotel has started to go downhill this was the 2nd time I stayed there and the bathrooms in the bar and pool area were infested with cockroaches and my room was full of tiny ants
I reported this to reception who didn’t seem to bothered even after I showed them the videos of same and in fact told me the ants were my fault because I had food in the room I then pointed out that my room had not been cleaned in 3 days to which they informed me that I had to request that my room be cleaned,,,
I paid over 400 euros per night to stay there and I would expect the room to be cleaned every day ,,
Obviously there’s cutbacks in this hotel
- Ross (6/5): -
- Sandra Rebeca (9/5): Relax, desconexión y tranquilidad - Las comidas espectaculares, el personal espectacular, y todo muy trankilo
- DIls (10/5): Perfect - Maaltijden Niets
- Anna Soffía (8/5): -
- Yasmin (9/5): Wonderful stay, will definitely be returning! - Beautiful location, really peaceful. The pools and gym facilities are excellent.
- 425kirstenh (10/5): Excellent - Third time here and it is faboulous ! Upgraded to UP which is worth every penny. Excellent staff, food and rooms. I will come back for sure!
- alanhJ1650RD (10/5): High Quality Hotel Los Cristianos - The Arona Gran hotel location is ideal with flat easy walking along the sea front, the hotel extrudes quality on arrival. We like sea front pool views from our balcony. The Spring Card discount is an excellent idea. The food is consistent high quality, The staff are very friendly and professional. Aqua exercises in the pool are fun and delivered by great people. The daily fun games are excellent.
- Connector49119435052 (8/5): Good location. Clean.Nice entrance & v friendly efficient staff. Buffet well worth 1/2 board option. Don’t take room 601 - Clean- good pool & gym facilities.
Room 601 v noisy with lifts & air con for ‘the building’ it often felt at 6:45 every day.
- YnaffiT (10/5): Hotel for your perfect holiday - Spent lovely Christmas and New Year at this excellent hotel. Hotel kept to very high standard. Food choice very good. the hotel really pulled out all the stops for Christmas and New Year entertainment. The staff are very friendly and helpful. the waiters in both the restaurant and the various bars are brilliant and a credit to the hotel. Have already booked to visit again in June. I would like to go again next Christmas but at the moment according to Jet2 the hotel is not taking bookings for solo visitors. I will however keep trying during the course of the year
- 483allisonf (10/5): Lovely hotel. - Very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water in great shower enclosure
Room was on 3rd floor which got the sun from 10 am until 5 or 6 pm. Balcony quite small but adequate for us.
Food in the buffet restaurant was excellent, large selection of various foods.
Locstion of hotel is good, right on the promenade which takes you through Playa Las Americas and on to Costa Adeje.
Will be returning again in April.
- iloginova (10/5): Great hotel on Tenerife's coast - Very nice and beautiful hotel with the view to the ocean, "botanical garden " inside of the hotel (we are still impressed), very friendly, professional and honest hotel staff, warmed sweaming pools and very nice buffet restaurant that proposes high variety of the food both for the breakfast and dinner.
- panjay72 (10/5): Another great stay at the Arona Gran Hotel Los Christianos - We had a great two weeks stay at the Arona Gran just before Christmas . We had a central seaview room on the 4th floor which at this time of year gets the afternoon sun . The hotel is nicely placed for a walk into Cost Adeje or Playa de Las Americas along the promenade . The swimming pool was lovely to get into and nicely heated . We felt that the evening entertainment was excellent with a wide variety of singers and tribute acts , Food in the restuarant was very good offering multiple choices . All the staff here are very friendly as were the waiters serving drinks in the evening .This is our third visit to the Arona Gran and hopefully wont be our last !
- 189junew (10/5): Best Hotel in Tenerife - This is our third stay at this wonderful hotel and it never fails to delight us. We always book the Up! Experience as in my opinion it is worth every penny. As always the staff are very professional and friendly, the food is amazing and the entertainment is great.
- 2aprilcottage (10/5): Another wonderful visit - Jut returned from another great stay at the hotel. The staff and food were of the usual high standard and Christmas Day was fantastic. Unfortunately we had to return early before New Years Eve so we are sorry to have missed it. We are frequent visitors and always use the UP service which is highly recommended. Nerissa, Anthony and Sabrina were all great and very welcoming. We will hopefully be back in March.
- K7502HRjoycep (8/5): Lovely hotel, the Up's is amazing and good plenty of choice. Great piano player to chill with and have a drink. - We love this hotel, been 4 times, the entertainment we loved, cos it was inside in the winter just like going to a social club. So we booked and went November. They used to have a lovely singer or a musician to start, but now it's bingo 😟 that's good if you like it 😁. Usually the acts are good 👍 then the singer or musician back to get everyone dancing, that was great. But not now, bingo, act and over 😟the regular people we have seen that visit we loved to see dancing and recognised, like the ones that do the balloon dancing, looked disappointed nothing to dance to. Everything in the hotel is great, but the evening are now dull. Great if you just want a day thing and bed at 10.30. but I'm would like at least 11.30, I'm on holiday and would like a dance. That's cut backs I suppose. Would still recommend, a great hotel shame the entertainment changed.
- carolef206 (8/5): Great holiday - Fab hotel, stayed there 10 years ago and still great! Our allocated room was on 1st floor and didn’t get any sun, reception changed our room the next day and that was perfect! Christmas gala dinner was lovely, king prawns and roast turkey. I went to the gym most days as rehab for my knee, Gloria the gym instructor was very helpful and gave me lots of useful advice. My only issue was the evening entertainment was outside by the pools. The nights were quite chilly and although there were a large number of patio heaters I still found it too cold to sit outside so I missed all the shows. I don’t understand why the entertainment was not held indoors.
- Trip60512055481 (8/5): A welcoming friendly hotel - There were only two things that prevented us posting a 5 star review.
1. The quality of the entertainment was variable. Lunch time entertainers were on the whole very good. The pianist and violinist were also outstanding but some of the tribute acts bore very little comparison with the singers they represented.
2. The food in the restaurant was of a high quality with lots of variety but sadly one or two of the older male waiters appeared to wish they were elsewhere. Maybe this was because it was Christmas and they would have preferred not to work but unfortunately this was not a one off, they seemed the same everyday.
Others, however were lovely, warm and friendly all the time. The Manager in the restaurant was very good and the team from the kitchen were positive and helpful.
- marksM9481TE (4/5): Food cheap and nasty - This is our second and last stay Hotel nice but tired food was terrible drinks service good entertainment ok not worth the money had a lot better for less reception staff arrogant and rude
- paulgP9396BD (10/5): Lovely Christmas Stay - Had a wonderful stay at Christmas. Lovely hotel, very clean and looked after. Great room with sunny balcony - side vea view 2nd floor. Christmas Gala Dinner was outstanding with free wine top ups all night and amazing food. Staff very happy and helpful. Great location at quiet end of Los Cristianos with lovely promenade walk along the coastline.
- J5215VCgeorgen (10/5): Christmas at the Arona Gran - This our first visit to the Arona Gran, which I must say is a magnificent Hotel, the food is extremely good, every part of the hotel is scrupulously clean. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We stayed over Christmas for two weeks the decorations are wonderful, and Christmas Day itself was full of entertainment, there was Cava going in for the evening meal a pianist played and there was a ballet dancer. Wine was served with the meal. The food available for all diets was amazing . The pools and surrounding area were scrupulously clean. I could not find fault anywhere .
I have seen a comment for the time I was there about cockroaches on every floor, this is complete nonsense, I didn’t go on every floor but the few I did there was no sign. I’m confused why anyone would go on floors other than the one on which they were staying . Perhaps they have an axe to grind about something else.
I will be returning to this hotel in the future,
- cherylberyl (10/5): Amazing Christmas - Had a fantastic Christmas and New Year at this wonderful hotel. We have stayed here a few times but never at Christmas.
They certainly know how to do Christmas. Everything was amazing. The staff work incredibly hard. Big thank you to wonderful Nerissa, Anthony and all the Up staff. We were certainly looked after. Also to the wonderful staff who worked so incredibly hard to give us all an amazing Christmas.
The gala meals were incredible with constant champagne flowing !!
We enjoyed most of the entertainment. Was very varied . We met a magician , a man with hawk , numerous singers and some very talented musicians.
Also huge thank you to the wonderful maintenance guy who did everything to get our WIFI going. Pablo you are a star !
We will return again in the future
Thank you everyone at the Arona Gran
- C5100PZchrisb (2/5): Cockroaches not welcome at a 4 star hotel! - Hotel looked decent enough but seeing cockroaches in the hallways on multiple occasions was something that I did not expect to see. Attempts to book spa were ignored. Food was good.
- juneturner2016 (10/5): Exceptional Hotel and Experience - Choose Arona Gran, Tenerife - Arona Gran is exceptional - food, entertainment, sea views from spacious rooms. Take in the sea views from the bar - a sun trap. Enjoy the heated pool and jacuzzi. We return year after year because it cannot be bettered. There is attention to detail. Staff are warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Book direct for extras like taxi from airport and cava in room.
- Rah1919 (10/5): Exceptional hotel - Amazing from start to finish. First time at the Arona Gran and we are planning to return again in 2026. Choice of food amazing with all the staff so friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean as was the hotel.
Shout out to Virginia and her aqua fit sessions, such a happy friendly entertainer.
The food that was sandwiched up and packed for lunch was the only thing which was annoying.
Keep up the good work.
- GrandTour30310927138 (10/5): Merry Christmas and we really did enjoyed Christmas 😊 - We thought this hotel was amazing and all the hype about it was true, it had everything you wanted from a hotel and staff were extremely friendly 😊
- lyndonb142 (10/5): Outstanding Hotel. - Stayed at Arona Gran from 13th - 20th December. Everything about this hotel is class. Food is excellent, the facilities are second to none and the staff are some of the happiest we have ever encountered. We are already looking to book for 2026
It was one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had. Can't wait to get back there.
- Anne (8/5): Good, but not excellent t like it used to be. Not sure I shall return. - The pool area is still nice and also the rooms. So e if the original staff still there are excellent (eg Valentina) but the newer recruits do not hv such good customer service skills and hotel does not feel as friendly this visit. As a regular repeat customer over the last 5 years, I get the impression that many cut-backs have taken place and my friend also noticed this. The quality of the food overall is fine. However, as a the quality of the meat has def gone down a lot, with fatty and tough steaks, whereas previously the steak was top quality and also larger cuts. Also you needed to go to dinner early to get full choice as often dishes ran out after about 8pm. On the “roast” meat counter, out of 9 nights we only saw salmon, pork and beef (once). There was no chicken, turkey or lamb this visit. Also, the desserts are the same, but need changing up as they hv been the exact same for the past 5 years I hv been and they all hv sweet synethetic cream and sponge and taste the same, even if a different colour. This means many people stick to the ice cream or fresh fruit. There are often long queues on reception and they def need more staff in this area as I gave up waiting g several times. The local surrounds have gone down, eg overflowing bins by roadside and beggars. Not the hotels fault, but it does affect holiday experience overall.

- Wander46409865027 (10/5): Another great time at the Arona Gran. - Just got back from another trip to the Arona Gran, and it was great, room was good, the buffet was good, overall experience great!, I would like to praise two people that made my stay even better, Andrea from the bar lounge area always on the go and very attentive as soon as you sit down for your evenings entertainment, and Virginia from Slovakia on the daily entertainments team she was always bubbly and a lot of fun, and got everyone going during the day in the activities, especially aqua gym.
A good time was had !!.
- Syd75 (10/5): Amazing birthday trip. - Travelled for a very special birthday. Fantastic hotel and was way better than expected. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very comfortable beds and great bathroom. Excellent wardrobe space and used the safe for €3 a day. Found the drinks much cheaper and tastier than outside of the hotel. So many food options and plenty of seating. Check in and check out was quick and easy.
Loved receiving a bottle of bubbly and a free cocktail for my birthday.
The gym was excellent and not busy at all so could make good use of it.
Looking to return for our anniversary next year and can’t wait to go back.
- clanba10 (10/5): Wonderful hotel - Once again had a fabulous time at the Arona Gran. This is a lovely hotel and the experience starts as soon as you walk through the doors. The decor and greenery is amazing, gives the place a lovely relaxed feeling. All the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful from the checking in process to the last point of checkout. Nothing too much trouble. Room kept immaculately clean and always done at a time that suited us.
The pool area was not too busy at this time of year. Was amusing to see people putting towels on sunbeds at 5am (I am a light sleeper)! We never had a problem getting a good position whatever time of day we showed up. The pool was warm enough and the spa pool bit was nice for bubbles and massage jets. There's an indoor spa with steam room, sauna etc for extra cost. Used it a couple ot times. Place to ourselves mostly.
We upgraded a couple of times to the Up! lounge. No hassle to do this, just asked at reception, paid the extra and good to go. The drinks and food up there were really nice and because it was fairly quiet it was a lovely relaxing experience. Wouldn't use it for the full holiday because we like to be out and about, but if pool days are your thing it seems worth it.
The bufffet food was good both at breakfast and dinner. Good variety each night with theme nights also. Tasty food, plenty of it and friendly staff. Drinks in restaurant and bars not too over priced. Very reasonable I would say.
Entertainment on evening was OK what we saw of it. Not west end shows but perfectly watchable.
Overall a great holiday and will be back to Arona Gran again in the future.
- Dream21152828609 (2/5): Disappointed - WE have been 4 times and stayed in the up club I call at 5 pm on Saturday to enquire about next year I spoke to a lady at the desk and abruptly replied go on line and that was it we are are not thinking of going somewhere else Regards up set customer
- 62DG (8/5): Good hotel - Good standard hotel located the far end of Los Cristianos, lovely sea view room on 5th floor, great views of the harbour but our balcony didnt get much sun. Good size TV with a couple of English channels, nice complimentary toiletries in bathroom and hairdryer worked well. Bathrobes and slippers provided. Emailed prior to arrival and asked for a walk in shower and this was accommodated.
Good choices in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner, freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast, Weds is gala dinner night.
Pool towels provided but limited to one change per person each day.
Pools warm for this time of year and plenty of sun beds available.
We arrived after a horrendous wait at Tenerife airport, the new passport machines that take fingerprints are being rolled out, 36 machines but less than half operational hence the delays, then that resulted in a further wait sat on the transfer coach as other passengers also waiting to go through Passport control. Arrived at the hotel about 3.15pm but after being checked in, room still not ready so asked by reception staff to wait in the lobby and they would call us as soon as room was ready, we sat and waited and waited so then went up to reception to be told room was in fact ready (how long would we have just been left sat there?)
Dino supermarket opposite hotel which was great for any items needs during our stay, prices very reasonable.
Found a bar on the nearby prom La Tasca 7, €3 for a wine and €2 pint San Miguel, also good selection of snacks available at a reasonable price.
Whale and Dolphin trip booked thru whalesdolphinstenerife.com, special offer €15 each for a 2 hour trip, we saw both pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins, popular trip but boat not overloaded, would highly recommend.
Went to Siam Mall on the free bus, market next to hotel on Sundays & Tuesdays.
We walked into Playa de las Americas a couple of times, nice walk along the prom, lovely to see the christmas lights.
Summary-good hotel, room lovely, restaurant good, we did find some of the men on reception a little unfriendly and abrupt, but lady who sorted our bill on checking out was helpful and approachable.
- Daydream822897 (10/5): Arona experience - A really nice hotel, great location, friendly efficient staff and great services. Everything was clean and the grounds and pool were immaculate
- N7558QTlyndac (10/5): The best hotel in Los Cristianos - A lovely, classy hotel in a great location. As adults only it attracts an older clientele (especially in winter) but because of that it’s very peaceful and relaxing. The food is fantastic and all the staff are SO helpful. Accessibility is great with ramps and lifts if required and you can directly access the seafront from the hotel making it quick and easy to get into the centre of Los Cristianos.
- 722gerryt (8/5): One visit will lead to many more. - We are very regular visitors to Arona Gran. This was our 3rd visit this year and we have racked up 30+ visits during the past 15 years when we were first introduced to Arona.
Clearly it ticks very many of our requirements for an enjoyable stay and this is supported by a team of superb staff who look after us in every department from Reception, Housekeeping, Restaurants, Bars and UP
