Guest Reviews
- Pavel (8/5): -
- Charlotte (8/5): - being remodeled shower was lukewarm but that’s consistent in a lot of Maine hotels…
- Becka (1/5): I’ll never stay again. Disappointed - Nothing There was blood on the curtains and brown stains on the bathroom walls. The shower head was falling off. NOTHING like the photos. The ceiling had water damage everywhere. There was no breakfast as advertised.
- Steven (8/5): - Always friendly staff and consistently clean rooms. The continental breakfast was not available (I believe due to remodeling), but I was not aware of this until checking in.
- Simon (8/5): -
- Fitzgerald (9/5): - Clean, modern, good location. No room coffee
- Donald (8/5): Very pleasant - Great location ,clean room, friendly staff.
- Jordon (5/5): -
- Jonathan (1/5): Under construction - Bed was okay Massive construction underway.
- Thuy (5/5): -
- Katherine (4/5): Disappointed in a lot of stuff. - It was close. We chose this place bc it offered breakfast each morning and I never was informed that it was not offered due to renovations. This really impacted my weekend bc I was in the Maine Women of Service pageant.
- Rob (9/5): -
- Bierwert (2/5): Felt like it was closed - It was clean. Rooms nice, location good Price included breakfast and there was none. Felt like the place was closed and I was the only person in the building which was creepy, like The Shining creepy. Breakfast and lobby was to open at 7. By 730, lobby still wasn't open. I left my key in the room and went to find coffee. Would not stay there this time of year
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Tami (8/5): -
- Lisa (7/5): Ok but.... - Price, location, bed was comfy There was no breakfast as advertised. We wanted to check out at 7:15 and doors to lobby were locked and front door was locked. I had to leave my key on the door handle and never got a receipt.
- Ronald (9/5): Very comfortable and fair pricing. - Helpful staff; cleanliness of the rooms. fair pricing. Some refurbishing noise
- Michael (7/5): -
- Brent (8/5): - convenient location breakfast was limited, but adequate
- Marcia (9/5): Comfortable - Check in only to 10pm
- Cynthia (8/5): Very nice for the price and a convenient location off the highway. - Breakfast was helpful and well balanced.
Check-in and out was easy / friendly…
Quiet - got a good night sleep Cleanliness in bathroom - there was what appeared to be feces marks on wall that I wiped off with a tissue - and I wondered the cleaner didnt catch that…
- Kelli (9/5): - Friendly staff, easy checkin, comfy beds, good water pressure, nice breakfast spread.
- Nevaeh (5/5): Smelly because ac/heater unit coils are messed up and their to cheap to fix it. - The water was nice and hot with good pressure The smell was very strong and unbearable, luckily only when the ac was turned on which meant sweating all night. Other then that it’s okay pricey to smell fish or sweat or freeze all night.
- Sheila (5/5): - Breakfast was basic
- Franz-Josef (10/5): Alles gut - Sauber und gepflegt, Frühstück
- Sandra (9/5): Will probably stay there again if necessary - Cleanliness , location, price Breakfast could be improved
- Michele (10/5): Will absolutely go back! - Most comfortable bed ever!! Ammenities were great. Very quiet and clean. A few more breakfast options would have been nice, but this was off season, so understandable.
- Jan (9/5): Convenient, up-to-date, comfortable - Proximity and cost
- Cavallini (10/5): - Everything Friendly staff very helpful.
- Claire (9/5): -
- Dawn (5/5): It’s fine for one night when you need to pullover for the night. In the furture, I woukd probably stay elsewhere - Right off the highway, convenient. It felt really run down and tired. The carpet in our room was filthy.
- Patrick (1/5): -
- Barrett (8/5): - Breakfast was satisfactory. Coffee was a little too strong but it woke me up! Toaster wasn’t working very well but did finally toast a bagel. A good selection of fruits, carbs, and spreads. A waffle maker?
- Brett (8/5): -
- Kim (1/5): Did not stay. Was run down. - Nothing. We did not end up staying. When we pulled up it looked empty. Not one car in the parking lot. We drove around to the back and the building looked in bad shape. We went back to the front and parked and went in. No one was there at the front desk. We walked around and couldn't find anybody. It looked abandoned and creepy. We couldn't stay there. I sent an email to Booking.com to get a full refund but heard nothing back.
- Sheila (7/5): -
- Morgane (8/5): -
- Cynthia (8/5): -
- Dechaine (7/5): It met our needs - It was fine, The TV was unwatchable. Screen was too small to veiw from the bed or sitting area.
We didn't have a problem, but the sinks in the bathroom were all pitted and discolored. For a premium price you'd think they would take care of this problem.
- Fisher (9/5): Clean, comfortable, pleasant. Would stay here again. - All facilities were very clean. Bed was comfortable. Several nice conveniences were nearby. The gentleman at the front desk was professional, friendly, and helpful. The continental breakfast was ok, much like other hotels. Having one freshly prepared option would have been great. The bed is very tall. My wife is short and has knee and hip problems. It was difficult for her to get in and out. This was specific to her, so don't let that stop you from staying here.
- Suzette (2/5): Horrible - I contacted them because the hotel we booked through them locked the lobby doors at 11 pm., didn’t answer the night phone posted on the window, and we were unable to get back into the room we paid for until morning. The hotel was Casco Bay Inn in Maine, just fyi and we froze in the car because there were no other rooms available in the area. Hotel.com offered no refund or credits and I will never use them again. Who locks lobby doors at 11? We were on vacation and they ruined it
- Carol (4/5): - Would not stay again.
- Cynthia (8/5): - The stay was comfortable and close to what we wanted to do.
- jane (10/5): - looks to be under renovation. my room seemed newly done
- Anderson (8/5): - The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. The property itself is somewhat outdated. However cleanliness trumps it all! Easy drive into downtown Freeport. Reasonable price. We did not try the breakfast. Overall very good place to stay.
- Amy (6/5): - A bit dated but fine for 1 night
- Patricia (9/5): - The interior of the Inn is much nicer than the exterior. It seems the management has completed renovations and hope to complete more. The bed was a bit too soft, but all linens were great. Breakfast was continental and good. Coffee is not up to par, juices are on the warm side. I just added ice from the ice machine down the hall. The location is very convenient. Many eating establishments within ten minutes drive. We had a good experience.
- Bruce (6/5): OK - Available Indifferent staff
- Stephen (8/5): - Room was clean, staff efficient, parking was very good. Near many restaraunt options. Continental breakfast was provided with stay. I would recommend this hotel to others.
- James (6/5): - Young man at front desk was not very friendly maybe he just didn’t understand English. Upon arrival room was hot with a strong musty odor like it had been closed for awhile. Air conditioner worked well room appeared to be clean bed was okay.
- Brian (9/5): - Large room, newly remodeled
- April (6/5): - Ok for the one night.
- Heidi (6/5): Won’t be back - Was not greeted at the front desk; waited several minutes for someone to come to the desk. The inn was not clean and the room had a musty smell.
- Bauml (8/5): -
- Samantha (10/5): - Casco Bay Inn was a great place to stay for coming to Freeport for a short stay and close to many nearby attractions. The rates were the most affordable compared to other hotels in the area and the rooms were clean and well kept. Additionally the staff were very accommodating as to our late arrival. I highly recommend and will be booking here in the future!
- Minor (10/5): - Wonderful hotel. Nightly rate was quite high.
- Kristina (10/5): -
- Lynn (10/5): - It was a great location
- Nathan (4/5): At least the sun was out and it was nice weather - It was close to everything that we were going to Definitely needs remodeling. Staff was hard to understand. The free breakfast was a joke. Mattresses were terrible small square pillows rooms definitely need fixing. overpriced for what you’re getting.
- Louise (8/5): - Renovated room, clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast okay - range of fruit, cereal, cakes and eggs.
- Diana (10/5): - Very quiet at night, conveniently located, very clean rooms.
- Cindy (7/5): -
- Erik (4/5): - The hotel is run down. Stains on floors, old banged up furniture, walls that need paint, and it smelled weird. Not sure how this place has 4.2 stars on Expedia. Had my wife been with me she would have said we’re leaving.
- Elena (7/5): - The hotel is rated 3-4 stars. They need to do a better job cleaning the rooms and change the mattresses.
- Laura (8/5): Comfortable rooms - The rooms were comfortable and clean The property has had some renovations which seem to be incomplete. The breakfast was mediocre
- Valerie (10/5): - I had a beautiful stay for the duration I was there. There was no cause for concern, the property exceeded my expectation. One thing I was recommended is home cooked breakfast with varieties. Not just and cupcakes. The coffee is great tho, for a $121 per day. Otherwise safety wasn’t any issue, transportation not really good. Uber everyday to and fro, make the trip more costly. I like the hotel.
- james (10/5): - Some construction inside and outside but our first floor room was comfortable, well lit, excellent bed, soft not crisp sheets. Desk, chair, padded sitting chair. Easy parking. Pillows comfortable but are standard size rather than queen/ king. Heat and thermostat work perfectly. Good breakfast offerings. Definitely will return and stay again, especially for the discounted total cost of 127.
- Brittany (6/5): - Not very clean, outdated.
- Karen (3/5): - The bed was comfy. AC worked. Where do I start? Upon entering the room, a can light constantly flickered. Front desk said I will come fix it. Never happened. The room lacked many of the basic amenities listed in the description. 2 bedside lamps would have been nice. No desk to work. Second floor neighbor each of the three nights thumped, bumped, played hopscotch or something from 1230 until dawn when we left each morning. Heavy use of Febreeze caused respiratory problems. Its obvious construction has been ongoing to refit an older building, but customer service and respect for guests not there. I felt like I was intruding, not welcomed. I will not be back.
- Jeffrey (8/5): -
- Cheryl (6/5): - Room was a bit outdated . A lot of putts in the sink in the bathroom and tub. Rug had a big enough stain not to notice
- kenneth (7/5): -
- Ginger (6/5): - Clean affordable stay
- Chris (10/5): - Everything is fine. It looks like mgmt is working on sprucing up the property which is a good thing. Room and bathroom are clean.
- Denise (6/5): Clean and comfortable - Convenient, clean, and comfortable
- DeAnza (8/5): - They are fixing it up but what I saw was great. Our room was very nice. Breakfast sparse.
- David (10/5): - Clean and friendly
- J60bud (10/5): Lovely find. - Last minute booking made here and we were not disappointed.
It’s peaceful, clean and our room was large and spotlessly clean. The bed was very large and so comfortable, and we slept extremely well. No coffee maker in the room but coffee and water was available in the breakfast area.
Small patio outside was good for an end of evening glass of wine.
Breakfast was adequate for our needs.
Easy to find and parking was no issue. Ideal for onward travel as close to main routes.
The young man on reception was excellent and all the other staff we met were helpful.
Relaxing stay in the middle of a very busy trip.
- Corinne (6/5): Ok for one night. - Ok for one night stay. Very basic, renovated a little but needs more deco to make it charming and welcoming. Breakfast was very basic too.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Rooms were clean, quiet. Towels could be softer, were a little rough. Breakfast had minimal options so we didn’t eat at the hotel. Located in a good area would stay again.
- Parvin (10/5): - Helpful and respectful staff!
- charlee (6/5): - location couple stains on the beds a little pricey
- Kerry (7/5): -
- Nancy (6/5): - The hotel was older and rundown. The beds were not comfortable and had stains on the mattress. Room had a strange odor
- Anne (6/5): - There was a lot of construction going on and the TV was difficult to figure out anf did not work well
- Andy (10/5): - The only real issue was the sound carrying from the hall and the room next to me. Our room had a door that connected to another room. Not our request but it just happened that way. I was able to hear the person clearing their throat and moving around early in the morning. I did not expect to be able to hear such soft noises between walls. Our neighbor was quiet but if they were noisier it would have made for a restless stay.
The property is under renovation but the work area is tidy and did not interfere with our stay. Parking was convenient and just steps from our room. Staff was very pleasant and we were able to check in early to get our key. We had an engagement at the normal check in time and would be late getting back so this helped us to be able to drop luggage off and go.
The price was reasonable and we appreciated the option of canceling, if we needed to, so close to our reservation date.
- Paul (8/5): - Room was clean, staff friendly. We did not stay for breakfast. Facility undergoing renovations but did not impact our stay.
- Sally (5/5): It was OK, but needs to finish the renovation - It’s going through a renovation and was not as good as it could be because of that A finished renovation, improved facilities
- James (6/5): So-so. - It’s a two star hotel, so with that in mind, some of the shortcomings and conditions should be expected. The shower head was so low-flow it was like taking a shower with a mister. Makes a Fairfield seem like a Ritz Carlton.
- Christine (10/5): - A convenient motel. In the process of being updated. It was quiet and breakfast was ok
- Amy (8/5): - Traveling from Florida to Maine and it was economical for a one night stay. The hotel was clean but in the beginning stages of renovation. The security guard on the door, inside the room was broken. Very small television. The included breakfast was good with many options.
- Susan A (8/5): Confusing late check-in times. - My room was clean and sparkly. The morning coffee is tasty. The web site said check in was until 10:30PM, yet the sign on the door says 10PM. A friendly greeting would have made for a more pleasnat check in. Overall the experience was good.
- Christie (10/5): - The room is clean and it is a nice quiet place to spend the night.
- Carolyn (10/5): - Continental breakfast was good. Clean and very nice staff. Only issue never had anyone at front desk in the morning so hard to get any help- we had a broken blow dryer, but when we returned late that evening the front desk made a note to fix next day, which was fine with us. Large room with 2 sinks in room
- Kayla (6/5): You get what you pay for. - The hotel was fine. There was a clean bed to sleep in. Overall it wasn’t very clean or well decorated or modern. The bathroom was pretty dirty due to mildew and condensation spots. Definitely slowly being renovated. I felt we got what we paid for. I probably wouldn’t stay again and would pay for a nicer hotel next time.
- JOSEPH (8/5): - Freeport is very nice. Hotel was one of the best buys in the area.
- Graham (8/5): - Friendly staff and convenient location
- Milo (8/5): - G FF FF gfv
- Timothy (8/5): - khbi
- Teresa (4/5): - The TV in my room didn’t work. The toaster in the breakfast area also did not work!
