• Yekaterina (7/5): Paper thin walls: you’ll hear everyone and they will hear you - The location is great, right by the beach and easy to find, also, very easy to get in and out of their parking lot to go grab dinner or explore nearby attractions. The walls are paper thin, one can hear their neighbors and if one happens to be on the lower floor, upstairs neighbors will sound like elephants. The pool is much smaller than what it looks like in pictures. And it’s in a totally separate building which was inconvenient since there is not even a proper changing room with a shower and a dryer. Also, the spa isn’t monitored and is at all times full of kids.

• Geraldine (10/5): Nice people, nice place to stay - The room was ocean view as booked. It was very roomy and clean. It was nice to use the balcony. We preferred not to be disturbed and housekeeping honored our request. Every interaction with staff was pleasant and you could tell people wanted to be helpful. Not their fault but flies get in from the balcony, just be prepared or bring a fly swatter, not a deal breaker at all, the place is worth staying. Another thing that can't be helped is other guests and perhaps they don't realize, but every time someone moved their balcony chair it seemed to echo into the room, not a problem if it is not 5am. Then there are the guests that are door slammers, they let the doors slam. I had a foot issue so the hill to the beach was a challenge but if I did not have the foot problem it would not have been an issue.

• Chandler (1/5): Bad feeling 4 hours from home with a already paid for room and no one to check you in - Nothing Absolutely would not recommend the office was “closed” early and left phone number to call for check in on door called number several times with no answer it was almost midnight we had to go find another hotel room because no one would answer I already had paid and made reservations called the office next morning lady said manager would be returning my call to get a refund I have yet to hear back from them it’s been a week!

• DeeAnn (9/5): It was relaxing for the most part. - The room was very nice, but we could hear doors slamming at all hours. The breakfast was great. I am very familiar with the Outer Banks as I have lived just an hour away my whole life. My husband and I were there to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. A little disappointed that our path to the beach was so long. Noisy and the long trek to the beach.

Beds were comfortable, room was clean. Staff not very pleasant, breakfast was not great- had to eat at a restaurant the second day, I don't like the layout of the parking area right up against hotel rooms. I was supposed to have a view of the pool, but it was way off to the side so no view. I spent over $800 for 2 nights. The staff could've at least have been a little friendly. I asked to check in a little early after being on the road for several hours to get there. They told me no, I had to wait until 4pm. So we hung around wasting time. I then saw other parties able to check in early. But they told me to come back at 4pm. Not a good start.

Breakfast can accept. beach is fair. the room not clean, because there is cockroach fly to my arm and made fright to me when I deep sleep. Then I spent 3-4 hours to catch it , Front desk told me it is normal at his hotel. and refuse me when I require free one night cost.

• Erika (8/5): Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and absolutely would book here again! - Easy access to the beach. Walking distance to a couple shops and restaurants. Nice having indoor and outdoor pools, in case of rain. Good breakfast, decent amount of choices. Room felt cozy and clean. Staff always smiled and were friendly when we needed something. Maybe it was different housekeepers, but the first 2 or 3 nights we had to go to front desk for towels and washcloths because they either didn’t leave any or only left 2 when we had 3 people in the room. Hardly any water pressure at the shower next to the walkway to the beach, but at least there was a small one at the pool we could use for our feet. No elevator in the one building, but it actually wasn’t so bad. A little bit of work to unload/pack it all back up but was ok.

El desayuno estuvo bien, podria tener mas variedad pero todo estaba muy rico. El hotel nos re gusto y queremos volver. El espacio del desayunador lo encontre muy poco espacioso ya que solo habia 5 mesas y el hotel tiene muchos huespedes. Fuimos a recibir el 2026 y nos falto un lugar para compartir tipo un lobby grande o un espacio de recreacion cubierto porque el frio.

• Brenda (4/5): We do not plan to stay at Shutters again. - Beach We have stayed at Shutters several times before and looked forward to our return. We arrived about an hour early to learn our room was not ready yet. We were invited to 'enjoy the parking lot', told we would receive a text message when the room was ready and then felt as though we were dismissed as she returned her attention to the computer. As we waited in the parking lot, two other guests went in and shortly returned to their vehicle with keys in hand. The young lady at the reception desk made us feel very unwelcomed. Also, we were unable to get the AC unit in our room to come on though we adjusted the wall thermostat numerous times. Fortunately, it was only 'warm' in our room during our last night of stay. We purposely woke early to leave the premises.

• Beth (5/5): Great view but left something to be desired - The location and view were amazing. The room we had was directly across from the door to the stairs which bangs very loudly at all hours. There was a large palmetto bug (looks like a cockroach basically) in our room and the room in general felt like it could have been a little cleaner.

Room service do a great job, came in everyday which is rare these days. The bummer though, we found a cockroach sitting in the tab and my husband managed to contain it and flashed down the drain. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of options.
• Shawn (10/5): - The bathroom was tiny but this made for a roomier sitting area. The "balcony" opened right on to the dunes. The jets in the hot tub we broken so were more like vigorous bublers. Over all beautiful stay.
• Paul (8/5): - Overall, enjoyed the hotel. Our patio had a diesel exhaust smell occasionally. Not sure what it was but we were next door to the area where the staff did laundry and prepared for cleaning. Everyone was friendly.

• Lorelei (10/5): - The room was amazing! Clean, well appointed. The bed was comfortable Al's the sitting area was nice. The desk was perfect for homework. The only issue I had was that our "poolside" room was behind the stairs going to the second level so we couldn't actually see the pool.
