Guest Reviews
- Paul (6/5): - Just been renovated but in a dirty neighbourhood. Reception wasn’t where it says it is. No phone in the room. No coffee only tea bags. No milk. Rough neighbourhood.
- Robert (8/5): - This hotel has been recently renovated and they did a wonderful job. The rooms are modern and nice. My wife and I stayed in a queen room with a balcony over the street while our 4 sons had a small suite with a full patio and a kitchenette. Staff was friendly and breakfast (offered at an adjacent coffee shop) was the perfect Italian way to start the day!
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- Sidra (6/5): - The area around Naple's Centrale is a bit of a whiplash for anyone coming for the first time. If you're not ready to walk into a shady street, and try and search for the hotel as it's like a conjoined apartment with other hotels, it's best not to stay around here. Although accomodations at hotel were alright, some of us staying had some issues with an odor in the air that negatively effected the experience. It depends on the person, as I personally didn't sense anything. The breakfast was great, though, and made up for it. The hosts are nice.
- Michael (8/5): - The staff were great the room was clean the bed was hard for our taste but the Ac worked great.
The walls are alittle thin noise carries really well otherwise a great convenient spot
- Ingrid (8/5): - convenient location to train station.
- Dina (6/5): - Breakfast at 8am? Everyone else starts breakfast at 7 for early travellers. 3 different keys and doors to finally get to your room. A/C very week. Room very small for the bed size. Hallways smell like smoking, staff don’t speak English. Area did not feel safe for walking especially at night.
- Marenoas (10/5): - Poor neighborhood but hotel is safe
- Ibrahim (6/5): - The neighborhood and the entrance to the hotel were sketchy. The staff was very friendly and helpful though
- Michelle (2/5): - The AC semi worked when we checked in and then we left the room and someone came in and left towels but the AC no longer worked. It was extremely hot and we received no response to get it fixed. The hotel is old and questionable with 3 keys for different doors for security.
- Ikuo (8/5): - スタッフも若い方が多く、とてもフレンドリーでした。
- Sunshine05880198520 (4/5): Awful hotel - This is a terrible hotel. The century-ish old lift (one of the ones with inner and outer doors that you can open at will) didn't work most of the time. And, when we needed to pick up our bags at 3:00 pm (in other words, the nearly universal check in time for every hotel in the world), the hotel was locked and the feont desk unmanned. We had to get someone from the pizza place next door to let us in or else we would have missed our train away from this dump.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very convenient place to stay in Naples - Very close to Naples train station. Convenient for day trips. The staff was super nice. The actual room was very clean. It was a little loud outside the room, but we knew it would be as it was located near the train station. I would stay again if I needed a place to stay in Naples.
- Jack (10/5): - Close to the train station.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Horrible. - You get what you pay for. This place is in a very disgusting part of town. Literal trash & urine all over the streets - stay away from here if you’re a couple looking for a romantic vibe. Onto the room itself:
The room was tiny. Had to squeeze by the bed every time we walked in. (Photo attached). The HORRIBLE WiFi not even usable!!!’ Couldn’t even check my email or FB on Christmas.
VERY noisy, very thin walls. You will hear everything. Awful.
There was a horrible smell in our room & bathroom the entire time. We noticed the entire hotel smelled like this as we walked through each day. We had to keep the windows open in the room to keep the smell out. In December this meant it was very cold in the room.
The shower head was half broken. Can’t point it on your body. It made showering extremely difficult.
The shower clogged each time it was used.
The breakfast offering was pathetic and lazy. On the day of our checkout, they closed it 30 minutes early.
Not much for food in the area either.
The staff was lazy and unhelpful when asked questions.
Worst of all, the morning after we checked in after a very long 8 hours commute, we wanted to sleep. The maid came and woke us up not once, but THREE times. After she was told the first time we don’t want service. This ruined the entire first day of our trip due to how exhausted we were after being repeatedly woken up.
Not acceptable.
My advice, don’t stay here.
- Gautam (8/5): - Staff were really nice. Room was quiet. Lots of eating options close by. I didn't have the breakfast but it looked good. The area near by has a lot of restaurants. This hotel was about a 2 minute walk from Napoli Centrale so very convenient for taking the train.
- Sophia (8/5): - Nice and clean. Kind staff very helpful. But little door in the bathroom like stagnant water. I recommend this hotel.
- sukruyey (2/5): The worst hotel i ever stayed - It was the worst hotel I ever stayed in. I had a reservation for 2 nights. When we went, they gave us a room in another hotel. They came the next day and said we had to change the room. We packed our bags again and went to another hotel. Even though I paid for breakfast, they said there was no breakfast on the second day. They gave me a croissant and coffee from the cafe next door. There wasn't even water. When I asked why, they didn't even answer. Even though I paid Agoda including all taxes, they charged me 21 euros again when I left. Even though I said I paid to agoda, they didn't care. A disgraceful hotel.
- Sami Petteri (8/5): - Good quality-price ratio. Hotel is technically quite outdated, but the staff was very nice, friendly and helpful.
If you’re easily woken up during sleep because of sounds and noice, please consider bringing earplugs if staying here.
Location is excellent transportation-wise, having central train station, bus terminal and subway all in 2 minute walking range. Some might think the surroundings outside the hotel a little shady, especially in evening and night time.
Breakfast was mainly sugary carbs, so if your not used to that, consider some other solution for that.
All and all good choice if you’re only using hotel for sleeping.
Would stay again 👍
- Roberto Jesus Randez (8/5): - El personal maravilloso, y el hotel calidad precio inmejorable, las habitaciones limpias y la situación muy buena. Lo único que en la plaza Garibaldi hay muchos vagabundos…..
- Rita (8/5): - Great location, easy to get around the city by metro which is across the street as well as bus/ train station. Outside can seem a little sketchy but we felt very safe in the area. Hotel staff was super helpful and friendly. I would stay here again.
- Bernard (8/5): - Great staff. Room was clean but needs a touch up.
- Samta (8/5): - Staff was very responsive to each and every communication and request made. Basic needs were met in a clean environment but the surroundings of the property could be cleaner
- Adam (10/5): - Wonderful manager and very convenient location.
- Sabrina (8/5): - This hotel is conveniently located across from the train station. Breakfast is good and coffee is great. The area may seem sketchy, but you can’t blame the hotel for the surroundings. The city needs to move on the undesireables.
- Tara (8/5): - Amazing front desk staff.. Clean and comfortable rooms. Bathrooms could use a little updating, but spacious and clean. The area is very busy.
- Melanie (8/5): Recommend - Hotel Sayonara were helpful. They didn't have our rooms the first night so stayed together in one room with the family we were with which was fine. Our room was beautiful and had a wonderful view of the piazza with a balcony. The breakfast was typical for Italy as were the bathrooms. I would recommend this hotel to friends for it's charm.
- Garry (10/5): Too short of a stay - We stayed here just one night. We arrived with bicycles on the last train of the night and we’re taking an early morning ferry out. The owner met us for check-in and was very friendly and helpful. Helped to lock the bikes up and packed a breakfast bag for each of us. Would definitely stay here again.
- Karen (8/5): - Staff were friendly n welcoming. Very limited hot water none both mornings.
- Tamaki (8/5): - The hotel was good value for money, although I had a little trouble with the shower room.
The shower room door was broken and I had to close the door myself while showering. Also, the part to hang the shower head was weak, and when I let out a lot of hot water, the head turned up and flooded the bathroom.
Other than that, the room was clean and well kept and the staff was friendly.
- MICKAEL (6/5): Rapport qualite prix mediocre - Mauvais rapport qualite prix et tres mal placé
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great service, and great hospitality. Great proximity to Central Station.Thank you!
- Markku (6/5): Ei hintansa arvoinen - Nuhruinen, remonttia kaipaava hotelli hyvällä sijainnilla ja aamiaisella.
- Michael (8/5): - Decent place conveniently located near the train station. Within walking distance of some sites.
- Jacob (6/5): Nicht gut. Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis schlecht. - Frühstück erst ab 8 Uhr. Rezeption bereits um 20:00 zu. Checkout bis 10 Uhr. Frühstück ist wie in ein amerikanisches Motel. Viel Plastik: Becher, Messer.
- STEFANO (4/5): veramente deludente - Camera e struttura sul web moderna e rinnovata, in realtà fatiscente
- Maria Ines (8/5): - The wifi did not reach the room, only in reception. They gave us a room that had the name of another hotel ... confusing when asking for breakfast at the nearby café.
- Martin (8/5): - Hotel is good location from the train station
Reception went smoothly pleasant area enjoyed lovely meal in area
Every thing on step
Would recommend
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff members were very nice and accommodating. The front desk girl even offered to walk up to my room with me. I declined and that was a bad idea. The hotel is very confusing. It shares the same building with another hotel and with apartment buildings so it did get hard walking to my room. The hotel is located right beside the Naples train station. It is very convenient. My room was very clean and it has a great view of the city. The breakfast did not have anything to eat though.
- shannon (8/5): - This property was very close to the main Napoli train station, but its in a very scary looking neighborhood. I stayed here with a family of 4. We were really shocked when we arrived to the neighborhood. The rooms were large with a double bed and 2 twin beds and a large clean bathroom. Looked like newly renovated and remodeled. It was OK for 2 nights. Staff were really nice. Mattress wasnt very comfortable but sheets were clean. Breakfast was mainly Italian pastries, yogurt, cereals and Cappuccino was served.
- Gavin (8/5): Friendly staff - Nice friendly staff and helpful too. The area around the hotel felt a little sketchy but it was actually fine. Train station and metro line nearby.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a bit hard to find due to construction at at the front door, Which isn’t their fault. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the bed was soft. It did have a pay elevator which was different in all our stays. .20 per use. Not. Big deal just different. The free breakfast was good.
- PePe09_09 (6/5): The overall assessment would be ok but nothing special, great location but terrible area - The location is very convinient due to the close train station and metro station but the area is terrible. The hotel looks more like a hostel not a three star hotel and the entrance and location on 3rd floor is not easy accessible and straight forward to get. The view is on the yard inside where all HVAC equipments located which are quite noise so there is no practically view at all. The room is very small with double bed but towels change daily and cleaned well. In overall, I wouldn't go there again and not recomending to anyone who is expecting a 3* hotel.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very noisy. You can hear all the noise outside your room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel was nice, it looked run down from outside but the rooms were all newly refurbished and clean. The staff were friendly and listened to our needs.
The area felt dangerous, especially in the evening. But even during the day, just down the road at the station we saw riot police and army ready for something to happen.
- Donna (10/5): Pleasant surprise - When we pulled up to the hotel we were a little worried the area looked a little scary ! How ever when we got into our hotel it was a pleasant surprise ! The room was beautiful and recently remodeled ! The girl at the front desk was super nice and very helpful she went above and beyond 😊 and the entrances to the hotel were very secure . We only stayed one night and chose this hotel because it is very close to the airport , super clean and served its purpose. There are also some get restaurants and shopping across the street .
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Standard hotel for this area of Naples. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast very basic.
- Chris (10/5): Beautiful, quaint with modern touches! Love it!! - Only two days in and loving it. Dominic and James are fantastic, so hospitable, really helpful and have welcomed us beautifully. The hotel is quiet, peaceful and often we have been the only people in the pool. Still 27-31degrees. Great breakfast, snacks and my wife loves the coffee. The rooms are spacious, with views of the pool, the Bay of Naples with the spectacular Mt Vesuvius as the back drop. Vico Equense is so easy to travel to from Naples. Campania Express Train. Station is just 6mins away. Quaint, meets modern. Loving it all so far!! Defo come back.
- Joann (8/5): - Very central with helpful staff. Room was clean and tidy. Ideal for overnight stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The staff was pretty friendly but couldn’t always be found or on their cell phone. The elevator is a joke you have to have a token to go down. The door to get into the hotel is like a doggy door for people. Worst of all they shut the hot water off at night knowing we had to leave at five. The WiFi is pathetic. We forget something and tried to go back up and the guy working had evidently gone back to sleep as he didn’t answer the buzzer or the phone. Oh and yes you have to be buzzed in for the doggie door
- Josianne (8/5): very good location - Location very close to central train station. Room was clean. Staff was very friendly. Wifi was very good.
- cemtepe (2/5): The hotel overbooked and we had find another accommodation at late evening! - Booked a room on Agoda.com 1 week before arrival and arrived to the hotel in the evening to check in and was told there were no rooms available. They were able to find our booking on their system from Agoda.com but somehow they were overbooked and had no rooms for us. The Receptionist tried to book us into other property on the same building for the double price. Not nice experience at all considering the fact that we arrived at 11pm to the hotel, first time in the city and had nowhere else to go!
- 386brendal (10/5): Elegant and close to everything! - Who says it is sketchy staying close to a train station. We did in London, Rome and Naples and all were great locations. This hotel is a five min. walk from the train station. The airport bus is in front of the train station and many tours start from this area.
This hotel is in a complex with other businesses including another hotel. You walk through a courtyard area and take the elevator up to the third floor then turn right.
The hotel rooms are spacious clean and comfortable. Windows are well insulated keeping street noise outside. The bathroom was large and good water pressure.
Breakfast was served upstairs from 8:00. We had an early start one morning and were accommodated by having breakfast brought to our room early.
Staff were pleasant and very helpful.
I would definitely stay here again if in Naples.
TIP: Naples is very walkable. Download the city map from Google to help you navigate through the town as it would be easy to get turned around.
- CarrieM445 (6/5): The staff make this hotel! - The hotel is a funny set up, as in a building with lots of other hotels, however once we got in, the hotel was clean, comfortable and a nice big room. The guy who greeted us on arrival and was there during the days of our stay was amazing and so friendly and helpful. Reception is manned 24/7 and the night guy is also really friendly. A continental breakfast is provided which is basic but does the job. The hotel is in a great location for the train station which we used to visit Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and Sorrento - all easily accessible from there.
The major downside for us was the noise, unfortunately it is next to a building site at present and there is also works going on at the hotel next door so we were woken every morning, however if you're here for business or an early riser then it is absolutely fine.
Yes there are street sellers nearby but I didn't feel unsafe at any point, none of them approached us as we walked past, and I would actually say we were pestered to buy things more in other cities we visited in this trip so don't let this put you off.
- jpcdp (6/5): Can't recommend - It's a funny little place, opposite a massive building site. The room was ok but with a terrible shower that you couldn't control where the water went. The area felt a bit unsafe. The staff were the best thing about this place and it was clean
- vmunoz_cl (6/5): Nice rooms, bad location - I was only one night in Naples. My arrival was by train, so I chose this hotel because it's very close to Naples Central Station. The location is very, very scary. As around many train stations around the world, the neighborhood does not feel safe, with a lot of people selling stuff on the streets. That's one thing. Then, the hotel itself is a bit hard to find. There is a sign in the building, in the second floor, but it is actually a building where many "hotels" share space, so there's a common door to all of them, and it is not obvious what you have to do to enter the hotel you want. Besides, the only door, a big wooden door, was closed, so you had to find the correct ring to bell. You enter the door, and it is not pleasant. You have to cross an open space, surrounded by very old walls, small windows, some of them have clothes hanging outside of them, drying. Use an old elevator that you don't know if you should trust...
On the good side, once you find the "hotel", the staff is very friendly, very helpful, breakfast was simple but fine, and the rooms were actually very nice, although small. The view is not nice, though, as the windows face the inside of the building, so you see the inner walls and the rooms at the opposite side.
I did not enjoy being here, although I do appreciate the kindness of the staff and the quality of the room and the shower, which was actually very good.
- Eveline (8/5): - The breakfast was not so good and very narrow corridors.
- Guy (8/5): Good value - Very friendly staff, happy to help. Nice breakfast, with as much coffee as you wish.
If only the location was better - not a very good neighborhood. But - on the edge of the historico part of Napoli, and right across from the central RR station.
Expect some trouble with the elevator, it is kind of old, and has a weird kind of doors.
- Michael (8/5): Nice people, very clean, not a great neighborhood - The hotel was very clean. The people were extremely nice. I loved the people working there. The shower was exceptionally small. To the point that I couldn't move without bumping the valve and nearly burned myself. I can't say enough good about the people though.
- Vicki (8/5): Spotless , nice personnel - Hotel appeared new, close to train station which is great. If I were staying a few nights, I would probably choose another spot only due to nighttime population. Hotel was extremely clean, desk personnel very nice; breakfast was ok, pretty typical small euro hotel
- George (10/5): - Great location and friendly receptionist. Easy to acces train station . 30 seconds by walking
- Kirk (2/5): - This hotel is very scary. Not a stand a lone hotel. It seems to be part of an apartment building. Arrived at 8pm a night. Our driver told us this is a very dangerous part of town and to not go out after we checked in. The ladies were terrified. We called an car service and another hotel to get us out of there right away. Beware!!!
- Sally (6/5): Nice rooms, shame about the street - Hotel staff very helpful and reception is staffed 24/7. The location is ideal for exploring Naples and surrounding area. Breakfast rather poor; not enough food or variety. No tea coffee facility in hotel apart from at breakfast. Bar is advertised but the hotel does not have a bar. Naples: Local street area dirty, littered and scary. Initially hard to find hotel front door through the market traders. Once inside hotel the rooms are clean and functional with balcony views over central station square; a building site. Central station is on the doorstep so it’s very easy to explore further afield; Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius.
- Rickilevi (4/5): Not friendly location, overpriced for this location” - We came for one night only for a layover.
The location is at the central station the area isn’t friendly (a lot of homeless) especially if you are traveling alone (woman), there's also construction outside. The entrance to the building is dark the elevator is old tiny and charging 0.20 cent to go down When checking out the staff will give a coin to go down with your suitcase.
The design is very tacky.
The staff is really really nice
Breakfast is poor
- Verified traveler (8/5): - €19 taxi from airport. 3rd floor. Accept v late checkins
- Hnnah100 (8/5): Perfect Stopover! - A gem in the centre of Naples- 2 minutes walk from the main piazza, train station and the "Ali bus stop" to Naples airport.
Through a large wooden door and a slightly ropey looking elevator, we were invited in to a wonderfully clean, welcoming B&B. The man on the front desk was cheery and helpful, giving us great directions and recommendations for the best pizzerias!
The hotel looks a little scary from the outside, this is a downside of being right by the station. This is where the shady characters hangout and most pick pocketing happens, so hold on to your bags! Once inside, it felt safe and secure, with 3 lockable doors between our beds and the street.
The room itself reflects the room rate in that it is pretty basic. However it was amazingly clean, air con worked perfectly and beds were soft. The towels smelt a little vinegary but given the overall standard of this hotel, its worth the booking.
- kernowlobster (8/5): People watching - As the saying goes
'don't judge a book by its cover!'
Please don't, its amazing inside, the rooms are huge and absolutely spotlessly clean! The shower is so powerful, the best I have had!
Staff are friendly and welcoming, and will sort out anything and give you good advice.
Overlooked by Mount Vesuvius, the street below is teaming with street sellers and and cafe bars, so much going on and it's generally a busy city strip.
Don't be put off it's a busy street and has 'characters' but within 2 hours we were having a beer and eating street pizza with a local bar owner.
There are quite alot of 'lookie lookie' men (Street sellers, selling knock off rubbish) but they take 'no thank you' for an answer first time.
Definitely will return!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything I needed and expected. Staff very helpful.
- Mohibur (8/5): Stay in Naples - Very clean hotel
Rooms good size
2 mins walk from Napoli Centrale Station and metro services
Lots of places to eat locally
- RobA935 (8/5): Nice - Once we found it , it was lovely. Threw a little entrance in a big old wooden door then upto the 3rd floor. Receptionists were all very nice, and the breakfast was simple but fresh. The coffee was good and strong.
The bedrooms are big, and we had a little Juliet balcony. Bathroom also very big,and modern.
Cleaned everyday, this hotel was really nice.. although the area isn’t the best, we had no hassle.
- Ruchira (6/5): - The rooms are clean. But the area is not good.
- kiml679 (10/5): HIDDEN OASIS - Traveling solo holds adventure and certain skeptical choices. I booked Sayanora knowing it's close to the terminal. From the outside a little daunting for a spoiled American. Going up the elevator I walked into a sweet, manicured, renovated and wonderful little gem. Room is huge, clean bathroom is updated and perfect! Breakfast in the morning is all you could want for continental. The staff is helpful obliging and speak wonderful English (along with other languages). Close to walk tours, tour companies pick up here, sightseeing solo, restaurants everywhere. This is a place I would come back to.
- peter6015 (6/5): over night stay - Hotel was situated on the main square just outside railway station. The premises were very clean and the staff helpful. If you are a large person then you have trouble entering main area of lifts for hotel as the door is very narrow. The rooms are basic which you would expect. Breakfast was average but the room it was in was very small and if a lot of people came at the same time there would be a problem.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location by the Naples central train station. Wonderful young staff - very helpful and accommodating. The included continental
Breakfast was standard but the service In coffee/espresso making was outstanding! I would recommend if you’re looking for no frills but clean comfortable lodging
- Kevin (6/5): Clean and comfortable, sketchy area. - The room is fine for what we needed. Check in is on the 3rd floor and the lift is 0.20 Euro per ride. The room was clean and quite comfortable, though sparse. Wi-Fi did not work in the room while we were there and no accommodations were made other than being told we would need to come down from our room on the 4th to the common area on the 3rd to use the Wi-Fi. The staff was very friendly, helping with bags and calling a cab when needed.
The area immediately around the hotel does not feel overly safe. It is packed with people selling knock off handbags, sunglasses, shoes, and cell phones of dubious origin. I suppose it's what I should have expected, given the proximity to the central train station. All said, I would stay again for just an overnight stay between catching a train and an early morning flight the next day, but I'm not sure I would do an extended stay of several days.
- peter (10/5): very nice, recommended - this hotel was a very pleasant suprise for me, it looks plain from the outside, but the room was good sized,i slept well and the bathroom / toilet also was a comfortable room with a good shower. the staff were all helpful smilng and friendly and the breakfst included delicious neapolitan pastries. the hotel is right by the train station and the airport bus stop, its next to the fofo bakery. i would stay there again. the local area is quite lively with market street traders, but the hotel itself is within a courtyard so not noisy
- D (8/5): - When you get here you have second thoughts at the location and building, but when you get use to it you find out room its very cozy and big and the staff its really friendly and helpful. You get value for your money
- john (10/5): Close to train station - Nice big room, friendly family run atmosphere
Nice little breakfast
Friendly staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great hotel, with a long history, hotel staff was great to deal with and very knowledgeable about the city and surrounding areas
- N (6/5): - It's only a 3 mins walk from the train station.Once you have walked half way down the road, past the road vendors (which can be intimidating), there is an entrance to your right. As you arrive on the third floor, to the right is entrance door to the hotel. There is a small reception desk. Staff were very friendly, however they were all males and the place would benefit from having a few more female staff to make people more comfortable when they arrive. We arrived at 12.20 and waited 20 mins for them to get our room ready. We were kindly offered coffees and biscuits whilst we waited. The rooms were clean and a fair size, big enough to fit a small single and small double bed. The bathroom was a good size with a cupboard for luggage/coats etc. The walls however are very thin. Our room was close to the reception desk and you could hear the phone ringing and people talking at times. Tea and coffee is available in the kitchen which is usually at a cost if it is out of breakfast times. The room doesn't have a safe or tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast is available for a few hours in the morning. When we asked what time it ended, there wasn't any answer. It is a limited breakfast of yoghurts, croissants, biscuits and toast. The hotel occupies 2 floors.I felt uncomfortable around the outside of the hotel but once inside it seems safe enough. Overall we enjoyed it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location when arriving by train - Hotel was very recently updated and has a very convenient location right by the train station. We arrived by cab however and it was extremely difficult to find. It is located on a pedestrian street so it's probably best for a cab to drop you at the train or metro station then walk. Even walking it was hard to find the entrance. Look for big sign on side of building then enter through driveway into a sort of courtyard. Cross to elevator and stairs and go to 3rd floor. Elevator is free going up but 20 cents to go down. There were lots of street merchants and activity on the street but it didn't feel unsafe.
- Mari (8/5): - Very nice Hotel if you want to stay in the city center. Must realize it is in the center of the city so the area outside is a bit CD. Nonetheless, the hotel itself was extremely clean and the staff very helpful. It is not worthy that you must go up several flights of stairs with luggage to get to the hotel.
- Arpell (10/5): A Jewel in an odd area. - love this hotel! The only issue is they do not serve breakfast! I love the espresso, but that's all. This hotel is other wise awesome, so I would stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel was good value and comfortable. the surroundings and location was not great. There will be a future square and underground parking being built in front of the hotel which will boost its rating. however, while all that is still under construction the surrounds of the building is like a suburb of Napoli with lots of vendors all around selling street goods. You can hear the doorbell at in the room during your sleep. The staff was very helpful. the only place bringing the rating down was location. It was a Domus rather than a hotel.
- Yvonne (4/5): Scary. - Scary especially at 11.30 pm. on my own.
Difficult to find entrance through a big wooden door half closed into a big courtyard area that was dark.
I had to ask to find that, people looking at me, I had alot of luggage so attracted attention.
Not a good area, even though I 've travelled alot.
Luckily there was a couple to show me and help me in the lift.
I had no idea where I was going.
Room right by reception, could hear everything.
The room looked onto the courtyard with very high buildings on all sides, people living there and some building work going on, quite old building, not nice to look onto.
Lots of men in Reception and very small breakfast room, no female staff at all, even cleaners were men in jackets.
Didn't feel professional or right.
Room quite small but we'll presented though, clean.
Bed hard.
Breakfast very basic, plastic bowls and tables, small area, not good.
Had to have a disc for the lift and difficult to exit courtyard with van and workmen.
I will not stay hear again, I didn't feel comfortable in any way.
- Benjamin (8/5): Great location for the Alibus or train. - I had read reviews saying its hard to find. Heres how at night or day i guess, its real easy.
I arrived late at night and took the Alibus from the airport 4euros. It drops you off at the Piazza garibaldi. You just have to walk off the bus, go straight ahead to the buildings infront of you and turn right, follow the buildings for half a block i think it was...theres a huge old unlit "sayonara" sign on the building..just look up! Find the huge wooden door with a smaller door in it which if you arrive at night is closed and locked. Now to the right of the door is a bunch of boxes on the wall with lit names on them. Push the lit Sayonara button...stare into the bright lights when they come on..and say something..its a camera and you can talk to whomever is tending the desk. You should here an audible click once you finish talking to the light. Now you can open the small door. Walk straight through the courtyard up 3 easy flights. Look for the glass doors with New sayonara on them..hang onto the door..it wants to pull you through the wall, and youve made it.
As far as the hotel itself. I had room 12..nice size..Tv..tiny balcony looking into a courtyard..overall no complaints. Walls are thin. If you dont speak italian your conversations will probably be short. Your in Italy so have a good time.
- Cyril (4/5): medium quality three star hotel in terrible area. - If Expedia were honest it would help, this is a medium three star hotel spoilt totally by non disclosure of the site. You have to fight your way past hundreds of black street vendors and if you arrive at night there is no clear indication of location but a tiny sign, then across a dark courtyard with no indication of the fact that the "hotel" is on the third floor !!
First room was so tiny that there was no room for a chair !! Second room slightly larger but facing the square where they are digging a new car park and work goes on ALL NIGHT. If more that eight people for breakfast then there is no space.
Staff very helpful. Room failed to be cleaned on two days of our stay. Expedia, just be honest and tell people what it is like. Frankly expensive for what it is but location if you want a centre for seeing sights by rail and bus then perfect. No decent restaurants in the area.
- William (10/5): The Perfect Hotel for Us - This was an experience that was unforgettable. Napoli is like no place you have ever seen or will ever see again. It has a personality all its on. I would stay here any time I returned. The employees were fantastic. The location was perfect. The hotel looked brand new. We walked everywhere including the Archeological Museum. The wifi worked in the room. If you are a light sleeper ask for an inside room but we loved having a balcony on the street because we are sound sleepers.
- Verified traveler (2/5): A nightmare hotel - Decadent location, no wifi no even tv signal, elevator awful, entrance like hell.. The most disappointed selection ever
- jack2010 (4/5): A few things one should know - Noisy, poorly accessible, on the third floor of an old building equipped with an old and not reliable lift. Clean room though not quiet at all. Uncomfortable bed. Located in the chaotic train station area, undergoing huge transformation works. People at the hotel were helpful I must say.
- Kate (8/5): Good for transport - Helpful staff was really good. Was able to leave luggage. really good.
- Malaysia (8/5): Clean hotel. - Check in was simple & hassle free.
Staff was friendly
- Oliver (8/5): six days in Naples - The hotel is situated very conveniently some 250 yards from Napoli Central, the main station of Naples. Hotel reception and rooms are in the 3rd floor away from the street noise, and bedrooms and baths were very clean and nice. Actually, baths were completely remodeled, high standard. Air conditioning was functioning, but internet was slow to a crawl. Hotel staff was very helpful, but several staff (as you'll often find in Naples) were barely understanding English. Breakfast is not included in the price you pay online (and it's very bare-bone breakfast), and neither is city tax, so you pay maybe 10% extra when you check out. That's just unpleasant and unnecessary, in my opinion. No beverage or ice machine, but staff brings you coke or beer for 1 Euro (cheap!) when you ask.
We found it very convenient to be so close to the central station, as we made several trips by underground (Metro line / Circumvesuvio to Herculaneum and Pompeii) and regular train (to Caserta Palace). However, it's not the 'nice side' of town, i.e. lots of street vendors, and poor neighborhoods. But we never felt unsafe, it's okay even for families.
- Nicholas (8/5): Don't judge a book... - Right by the train so it's a little sketchy neighborhood and the entrance to the hotel had me questioning my choice of hotels but when I got off the lift I was pleasantly surprised a white a nice hotel it was!!! Really clean, modern hotel a 2 minute walk from the train so great place to stay!!
- Rachelle (6/5): - Ok but a bit noisy.
- Amanda (8/5): Solace from craziness of Naples. - Nothing to complain about except Naples itself. We stayed overnight to visit Pompei but would recommend staying in Sorrento to visit Pompei and ercolano.
- Samantha (10/5): Great stay - Staff was very friendly, location was great if traveling to the train station, room was clean and large, bathroom was clean and the shower was brand new
- Jennifer (8/5): - A little hard to find, but the room was surprisingly beautiful once we were in. We accidently left our passports in the room and the staff was fabulous in contacting us and helping us get them back. Neighborhood is a little run down, but so close you the train station. Great for catching early morning trains to Pompeii or Amalfie.
