Guest Reviews
- TIMOTHY (10/5): - Absolutely amazing long weekend at Trustans Barn, such a good location for exploring Suffolk and the coast. Incredibly quiet and tranquil, really comfortable and everyone working there was truly wonderful. Cannot recommend highly enough.
- Gill (10/5): - An oasis of calm. Encouraged by the other great reviews we were not disappointed. Sallie and Rosie (and their Dad!) are lovely lovely people who have created a very special place. A barn renovated to the standard of a modern boutique hotel yet set in a beautiful calm meadow filled with wildlife. Walk to a pub for dinner, get snacks from a farmshop, and, if you’re lucky, have a chat with the sisters and enjoy their gentle humorous nature!
- Joy (10/5): - The breakfasts are the best quality ingredients I have ever had
- siobhan (10/5): Wonderful stay, warm and welcoming - Gorgeous room full of lovely little touches. Everything was perfect from the room to the breakfast. A wonderfully warm family run business in a beautiful location. We spent two nights and was made very welcome. Definitely recommend and would love to visit again
- Michael (10/5): - Trustans Barns, Is such a nice place to
stay, everything is so pristine.
Sally and Rosie who run the B & B are
two very nice people, they make you feel at home the moment you arrive.
Nothing to dislike at all.
Mike & Val
PS. the honey is good as well.
- Caroline (10/5): Comfy cosy stay - We had a lovely time staying at Trustans Barn. The room was so comfy and cosy. Rosie and Sally gave us a lovely warm welcome and made us feel at home straight away. I would definitely recommend staying at the Barn.
- Damian (10/5): - Very enjoyable stay, lovely property and surrounding gardens, friendly hosts, great location
- hayden (10/5): - A beautiful property in a gorgeous corner of the Suffolk coast. Great rooms, all decorated beautifully, and spotlessly clean. A great breakfast with honey made on the premises. Lovely hosts who take their time to make sure you have a fantastic stay. Highly recommended!
- JerryandJudith (10/5): - We loved our stay at Trustans barn. It's a beautiful setting and Sally and Rosie are delightful! Would definitely recommend!

- M (10/5): - A beautiful place to stay and a lovely part of Suffolk. Sally and Rosie make you feel at home and the breakfast is superb.
- Beverley (10/5): Lovely Vibe - Trustans Barn was spotlessly clean, the facilities were perfect and having breakfast in a teepee was such fun. Sally and Rosie were very friendly and helpful. I loved the vibe of the place, very relaxed and enjoyed the wild meadow too! We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.
- Anne (10/5): - Once again I have enjoyed returning to Trustans Barn for a short stay. Sally and Rosie are always very welcoming and accommodating. Kelly/Kerry who does the morning breakfast is also very friendly and helpful. The only comment I would make would be to provide better coffee for breakfast! Thank you.
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent stay - Sally and Rosie go that extra mile to make your stay memorable in this wonderful B & B.
- Nigel (10/5): An absolute gem! - We can’t fault this idyllic accommodation. From the minute we arrived it was clear we were in for a treat. The exterior and interior of the barn were immaculately clean and decorated to an exceptionally high standard. The grounds are extremely well maintained (a pretty walled greets you as you approach the bedrooms) allowing wildlife to flourish in the surrounding meadows. A lovely touch are the meadow walks with mown paths for easy accessibility so you feel part of the landscape and nature. We enjoyed looking at the subtle sculptures along the way too. A wonderful and mindful way to start the day before sitting down to a delicious breakfast in the Covid friendly teepee tents at the edge of the meadow.
Breakfast was plentiful! Fresh fruit salad and Dorset cereals to start followed by a cooked breakfast to order. Nothing was too much trouble for Sally and Rosie and it’s obvious they take great pride and enjoyment in everything they do here.
The rooms are stunning with a comfy bed (I now realise I need to buy a new mattress at home 😂) Plenty of towels, hairdryer, shampoo, soap etc. which you would expect to find but also an eco friendly makeup removal cloth and separate bins for recycling and general waste which I was pleased to see. We slept very well in this tranquil setting which is a great location for visiting all the pretty local villages such as Walberswick, Orford Westleton and Dunwich to name a few.
I highly recommend Trustans Barn. We will be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location for us was perfect , the breakfast was excellent and the local knowledge that Sally and Rosie passed on to us was helpful along with there recommendations for evening meals. The grounds are amazing and the yurts they use for serving breakfast is unique.

- Jim (10/5): - The barn sits on the middle of a meadow, during our stay we saw rabbits, hare, muntjac dear and owls. We had breakfast each morning in our designated Yurt which was a great and imaginative way to deal with the Covid situation. We really enjoyed our stay.
- Charlotte (10/5): - Loved the social distance teepee for our cocktails and breakfast. Also the meadow walks interspersed with sculptures.

The Barns are beautifully converted and presented, can’t fault it and look forward to coming again.
- Colin (10/5): Absolutely amazing - Totally amazing even though the weather was terrible. I would recommend Trustans Barn to anyone.
- Bob (10/5): How bed and breakfast should be! - Great location, lovely setting, really nice hosts, great breakfasts. Just altogether excellent!

- Verified traveler (10/5): - The welcome ,plus setting, relaxed and calm ambiance and excellent breakfasts, hope to stay again in the near future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had an excellent stay and made to feel most welcome . A nicely furnished conversion with a lovely aspect from "The Nest".
- Selina (10/5): - Lovely B&B with a very warm welcome. Thoughtfully designed and refurbished SuffolK barn creating a relaxing and easy vibe. Our room and en-suite was clean very comfortable.
- Alan (10/5): Friendly and relaxing atmosphere - Lovely peaceful location & friendly welcoming hosts. Close to lots of good pub food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Pleasant rural barn conversion - Quiet peaceful rural location. Rooms tastefully decorated. Breakfast portions not huge but quality local sourced products. Upmarket end of B&B.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms are large with clean and new looking fittings and fixtures. There is no check in desk so had to a ring a door bell for attention but someone came quickly. The only negative for my wife and I was the mattres was to hard which is a personal taste.
- Christopher (10/5): Brilliant! - Fantastic accommodation, brilliant hosts - friendly without being over-attentive - and an amazing breakfast, couldn't ask for much more. Will definitely be going back.

- Peter (10/5): Excellent - Lovely venue in a beautiful setting. Really friendly hosts, excellent food and very comfortable room. Intend to go back and would recommend very highly.
- Alison (10/5): Beautifully designed barn conversion - My room was large, airy, very comfortable with a quiet view across a large field to the lane. Extremely comfortable bed and spacious shower room. Breakfasts, specially cooked to order, are served in a large room overlooking an immaculate walled garden. Wonderful fresh fruit salad and yoghurt are waiting for you.
The family are very welcoming and we had some very interesting conversations. And, if you know the area, with its small seaside villages and towns, miles of shingle beach, RSPB reserve and heathland, wide reeded estuaries, Snape Maltings and large Suffolk churches you will be back again.
- Gillian (10/5): - Quiet peaceful. Grounds very attractive. Handy for many delightful villages and especially Minsmere Reserve.
- Christopher (10/5): Wonderful stay. - We were so pleased that we had booked. Our room was excellent in all respects, breakfast gave plenty of choice and was beautifully cooked and presented. The owners and staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We can unreservedly recommend Trustans Barn to anyone coming to the area, you could not do better.
- Jon (10/5): Has everything we look for in a B&B - Thoughtful and comfortable barn conversion that is both secluded and close to sights and amenities. Our hosts were very friendly and attentive, and the tasty breakfast was served in a delightful room. The Barn enjoys a lot of repeat visits and it is easy to see why.
- Bob (10/5): Excellent vacation - What a great stay
Staff always ready to help
- Larry (10/5): Suffolk delight - We have just had a wonderful stay at Trustan Barns. Sally and Trish are friendly and welcoming hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The Barns are well placed to easily get to places like Aldeburgh and Southwold but are far enough away from the main road that there was complete peace and quiet.
The rooms are immaculately kept and well decorated. The only minor issues for us was the lack of a wardrobe to hang our clothes (although there are plenty of drawers provided) and there was no fridge in the room to store milk and drinks.
The breakfast provided was very good, with plenty of choices. It was served in a lovely annex overlooking a walled garden with fields beyond; idyllic!
We plan to visit Suffolk again and would happily stay at Trustan Barns. Highly recommended.
- Selina (10/5): A Gem of a Place - Return visit to the excellent Trustans Barn. Sally and Rosie are extremely welcoming hosts and Trish who prepares the breakfasts does a wonderful job. Stayed in Oak which was a little smaller than The Smithy which we had stayed in previously although this was reflected in the price. Immaculately clean and a very large walk in shower. Surrounded by lovely countryside and convenient to both Southwold and Aldeburgh. Will definitely be returning again. So glad we discovered this gem of a place.
- Nigel (10/5): - Great location for some beautiful areas of Suffolk
- June (10/5): - Beautiful accommodation highly recommend it
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fabulous Bed and Breakfast - Situated about 10mins from RSPB Minsmere, 15 mins from Snape Maltings, 30 mins from Sutton Hoo, v quiet, beautifully appointed, v friendly and helpful owners, super breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location for the suffolk coast - relaxed approach to daytime access and use of gardens etc
- Clare (10/5): A wonderful B&B! - A wonderful find. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly hosts and staff and very well looked after during our stay. Lovely b&b accommodation - clean and pleasant room and bathroom - set in beautiful countryside. Would love to go back and can highly recommend Trustans Barn.
- Nick (8/5): - Very friendly nice location
- Peter (10/5): Top quality B&B - Sally & Rosie have converted an old barn into a very high quality B&B. Sally was very welcoming when we arrived and provided a lot of information about the surrounding area. Tricia cooked a tremendous breakfast each day and Rosie was as friendly and helpful as her sister. The room was decorated to a high standard and the bed very comfortable.
- ANN (10/5): A little slice of heaven! - Fantastic gem of a boutique bed and breakfast. Sally and Rosie who own and run this fantastic place made us very welcome and we left as friends. Trish makes a wonderful 'full English' to order. Must find a reason to return ASAP. Only downside for me is the decor of our 'swallow' room!...it was unique and my wife now wants our bedroom decorated the same. The farm shop almost on site has excellent local produce and a tea room.
- Claire (10/5): AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! - Every part of our stay @ TRUSTANS BARN was amazing!
The owners are awesome.
We had some great conversations w/ owners Sally & Rosie.
The only thing that was slightly uncomfortable was that we visited during the
summer heatwave, so our room was a little hot!
I think a room fan would have easily resolved that.
Again, we LOVED our stay @ Trustans Barn!
We highly recommend it & would stay there
again in a heartbeat!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely B and B, excellent quality. - Pretty location, not far from A12. Well furnished; comfy bed with quality linen, large bathroom with walk-in shower. Everything spotless. Very welcoming hosts (sisters Sally and Rosie) and excellent breakfast served by Trish who is determined to get each day off to a great start.
Would have no hesitation staying here again and would highly recommend it.
R&S, York
- Billie (10/5): Beautiful Place and Perfect Hosts! - My husband and I had the pleasure of staying with Sally and Rosie (& Trish) for 2 nights in June while on a 5 week trip to England, Scotland and Ireland. This was our favorite B&B of the entire trip! An architecturally re-designed barn and dining hall - straight out of Homes & Gardens magazine! It is absolutely gorgeous and the incorporation of the exposed beams, the opening wall in the dining area, the garden and the surrounding farmyard are stunning! The hosts gave us some excellent ideas for sights and beaches in the area that we ventured off to. Rooms were spotless, food was fresh & delicious, the only down-side is we live too far away (Canada) and likely won't be able to go again! Thank you ladies - we loved it!
- John (10/5): Trustans barn. - Quiet and peaceful. Comfortable accommodation. Perfect all round. Will definitely return.
- Debbie (10/5): Will definitely return - Everything from check in to check out was absolutely fantastic. Even the weather!

- Clark (10/5): Really nice b&b in a great location - Lovely barn conversion with rooms to very high standard. location is ideal for Minsmere & southwold and not far off th A12 which can't be heard.
Great breakfast, with really friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely stay there on our next trip to Suffolk.
- Jeanette (10/5): - Lovely stay and such a warm welcome from Rosie Susie and wonderful food from Trish. Rooms spotless, luxurious bedding and plenty to do in area for a three night stay, will definitely be returning
- Terri (10/5): Welcoming and homely - Only stayed for one night but the welcome was friendly and the accommodation was lovely.
Breakfast was excellent and service wonderful.
- Martin (10/5): Countryside Bliss - Lovely welcome from Sally. Nice big bedroom with wetroom. Very comfortable beds and excellent quality linen. All you could need. Very quiet location. Trish cooked us a good English Breakfast and the coffee was tasty. We had a walk out on the Meadow Trail and saw quite a few birds, sadly no sign of the little owl. Loved the deer on the hill. A really pleasant place to have a calm relaxing time. Thanks Sally, Rosie and Trish.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely barn conversion in Suffolk - Our hosts were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were modern and clean. The breakfast room ideal and flooded with sunshine in the morning. We stayed in The Nest which was lovely. Bed was comfy.
The only downside was the window - it was a lovely feature and it was great to see the stars in the night, but not so great in the morning when the light was flooding in. If you want a bit of a lie in I would choose one of the other rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Brilliant - Brilliant place to stay. The hosts are friendly and informative.Breakfast is first class with quality ingredients.
- Paul (10/5): Wow - Warm,Friendly,Fantastic room. Loved it so much were going back in March

The cooked Breakfast using locally sorced organic produce was delicious, it certainly set us up for the day.

- Anne (10/5): Fantastic accommodation in a fantastic location - The quality of accommodation and service cannot be faulted. We were made to feel special and looked after in a very unobtrusive and friendly way. Cannot recommend highly enough.
- Paul (10/5): Pleasurable First Visit To Darsham - Trustan's Barn is a very modern yet unique bed and breakfast. The standard of the accommodation and spec of the furniture was exceptional. The staff are very friendly, easy to talk to and very proactive. I will definitely be revisiting here in the future.
- Richard (10/5): Welcoming, comfortable and clean - My wife and I were welcomed by the friendly owner and shown around our room with its clean and comfortable facilities. Good nights’ sleep and excellent home-cooked breakfast. We will certainly recommend it to family and friends.

- Peter (10/5): Short Break - Superb barn conversion, very comfortable. Very welcoming. Definitely stay there again. Swallows in the meadow really impressive.
- Grandma (10/5): Idyllic - My granddaughter said it all "grandma this is the best day of my life" when we saw our room. The owners made our stay First Class.
- Stuart (10/5): - We could not find fault. The family were most helpful and hospitable. Food and accommodation and cleanliness excellent. We will undoubtedly return. Well done
