Their photos don’t match reality they advertise a boutique hotel surrounded by nature, instead what we got was an outdated room with moldy mattresses and bad costumer service. • DennisFranklin1 (2/5): DO NOT BOOK!! The Hotel has been shut down!!! - We booked a 2 night stay here and when we arrived the staff had barricaded the entrance and we’re striking! Turns out the owner has now shut the hotel down. Luckily we booked through an agency and they refunded us after the confirmed this was the case!

• Raúl (4/5): No tienen ni idea que es ser un hotel boutique - Horrible hotel, mala atención, no tienen idea que es ser boutique, colchones terribles, limpieza de las habitaciones mala, la señorita de recepción muda, no dice ni hola, todos los hoteles de Palenque son más baratos, en la misma ubicación y por supuesto que este hotel no es tesoros ni boutique, es una burla que el cóctel de bienvenida que ofrecen lo tengas que pedir y te digan que es un vaso de agua mineral. Terrible lugar. Que mal que engañen que son boutique.

• LUMINITA (4/5): Accueil penible dans un hotel vide et mal tenu - Chambres petites , inconforables , extrêmement bruillantes cat la route nationale et ses infatigables camions passesent a 50m. Une migale heureusement anesthésiée sous le lit par la clim et une terasse ( chambre aussi) sans chaises . L hotel etant vide , j ai demandé s on peut changer ...alors que le prix de la location etait deja eleve on m a demandé un supplément d environ 90 e / nuit pour une pretendu suite...vraiment décevants . Le pari de l authenticité n etait tenu que pour les pretentions

When they finally found our reservation which already passed 1 hour, we found that the tariff was almost double thru Expedia. We had a horrible stay there and we were totally disappointed with Expedia as well.
• beekmanskoen (8/5): Super location out of town - Halfway the road between the city of Palenque and the ruins this hotel offers a quiet retreat. Rooms are in the middle of the jungle and there is a nice pool to cool down after visiting the ruins. Only disadvantage is that the hotel doesn't offer any food so you need to take a car to any of the better restaurants in town. There are no good restaurants on walking distance.
• Maarten (10/5): Ideal spot to relax - very friendly staff, clean room and in general a very relaxed/zen atmosphere.
• A3284ZKmaryf (6/5): Simple basic accommodations - We were in 101 which was comfortable. Very basic room so I would not rate this hotel any higher. Certainly close the archeological site but not close to decent restaurants. Wifi only available in the lobby. Breakfast included which included fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, toast , cheese and slices of ham. Staff was very friendly. Spoke little to no English. Known as one of the better hotels in the area.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Good but needs a attention to details for price. - The hotel is small with individual casitas. The casitas are large, bed and bathroom a very good size and large terrace. The hotel is in the "jungle" so very little light gets in. Our room was damp with no way to air it out. The terrace could have been lovely to spend time on - however the built in "bath" did not look inviting - rusty chain and many leaves. The built in concrete couch did not have a cushion so very difficult to sit on - note - some other casitas had cushions - the hotel was not full - perhaps someone should have noticed. General impression - the hotel could be very good with a little more attention from the staff.

• Samuel (8/5): Semana Santa Stay - We stayed at the hotel for a long holiday weekend to enjoy the Palenque ruins the nearby area. The hotel was well located, stylishly designed, and had excellent customer service throughout our stay. The only drawbacks were lack of air conditioning, wifi only in the lobby, and the lack of a restaurant.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Mixed feelings... - Lovely boutique hotel but with 2 issues... no food except for breakfast which is included in the fee (great breakfast though)... no food means you have to order take outs from local restaurants... they keep 2 restaurant menus at the front desk... the time the food takes to arrive is reasonable... the second issue is that the social area where the dining table and the couches are is an open air space with no fans and unfortunately plenty of mosquitoes... the same is with the little front area of the bedrooms and this lack of screen protected spaces is a hassle... the area of Palenque is very hot and humid and there're lots of mosquitoes so if you plan to relax it'll have to be inside your bedroom with the AC or the ceiling fan on... no TV or internet in the rooms...
• Verified traveler (10/5): Simply Beautiful - This place is BEAUTIFUL. I was only sad I didn't have more time to enjoy the property. Very rustic feel. These are not luxury accommodations but if you want luxury, probably don't go to Palenque. The hammock and hot tub outside the rooms were a nice touch. The staff was very eager to please and breakfast was perfect. It is 5 minutes from the entrance to Palenque Archaeological Zone.

• michiberli (10/5): A quiet oasis close to the ruins - We found this a perfect place to recover from our excursions. Very relaxing and quiet with beautiful cabins and a pool big enough to enjoy the swimming. What I liked most was being surrounded by nature. The cabins lie in a tropical garden and in the mornings or evenings we would hear the howler monkeys or watch the scarlet macaws pass by. They serve breakfast but no dinner, so you'll need to drive into town at night which is a 5 min drive.
• LauraMP69 (8/5): Very nice and cosy place - Very nice and cosy place, perfectly between the center of Palenque and the archeological site. The hotel was a very quiet and peace retreat, is very small, you sleep in small houses. It is a beautiful hotel with a tropical feel because of the situation of the rooms in a tropical garden. The room is beautiful with decorative details, a comfortable bed and we were given everything we needed (incl mosquito repellents). The private outdoor bath tub was a bomb. So romantic and relaxing. Courteous and professional staff. Good breakfast. The pool area was very peaceful, the terrace area perfect for relaxing and reading, We loved how the hotel is literally in the middle of the jungle and you can hear the animals every hour of the day. Very nice atmosphere.
• Hilary (8/5): Perfect for me as a solo traveler. - Warmly received, attentive service, wonderful breakfast served on my terrace; end of day swim in the pool, a drink in the lobby catching up with email and a meal if I wanted it from a local service. And easy access to the archeological site and museum and help with arranging a very early taxi to the airport when I left. I was happy to be staying several days.
• goldaf2018 (2/5): Robbed and absolutely disappointed - Hi there, we were staying at the Piedra de Agua hotel and everything seemed quite well for a 5-star hotel. The hotel even recommended us a Travel Agency which took us to Bonampak and Yakchilan - two Mayan sites - which was ok. But what an ugly surprise when we came back to the hotel late at night and realized that somebody or several members of the hotel staff had stolen almost 700 Euros that were hidden in several places within our baggage’s. When we denounced the theft at the hotel lobby we got the answer that it was not the first time such thing happened and that they would not respond for the theft (answer from the lady responsible for the hotel staff). The hotel owner, on the other hand, did also not take seriously our denouncing and argued that the hotel staff was to trust. He even argued that such a thing had never happened before, what contradicted entries in Tripadvisor and what his own hotel staff said minutes before his arrival. When we asked them to review the recordings of the video cameras - which we thought would exist - they replied that there were no cameras, so there was no possibility to get more clarity about who was o were the staff members that committed the theft. In sum, we are absolutely disappointed by the attention we were given by the hotel owner and the staff in charge after we denounced the theft. Most shocking was to realize that it must have taken the thieves quite a long time to review all our trousers and baggage’s to find the money. They literally had to dug through our entire belongings in order to find the money. For us this indicates that there is a certain modus operandi going on and there must be some complicity among the hotel staff, which has been tolerated so far. At my mother's hotel room the baggage was also revised by that somebody or these staff members, but luckily they did not find the money and only damaged a Nespresso box - in search of the money - we bought days before at the Bogotá airport. Whatsoever, we denounced the theft at the local police station and the hotel owner promised to open an own investigation and to contact us days later - something that has probably never happened as we never heard from him again. I would definitely not recommend wasting your money in this so-called boutique hotel as it seems to be in hands of dishonest and unprofessional people.
• RW6807 (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Excellent Hotel outside of the town Palenque and close to the ruinas. The rooms are very nice. The cherry on the cake was the outdoor bathtub. After a day in the ruinas this was extremely relaxing. The staff is very attentive. Good breakfast. So, go for it! We went there twice.
• SLosee (8/5): I'd Recommend it Even Though We Had to Leave! - This place is a gem--so low-key and charming, with lovely details in the rooms and an intimate jungle setting. I was so pleased with it when we arrived. Unfortunately an unusually fierce afternoon storm started raging and at first it was fine--we had massages in the outdoor spa while the rain poured down--but then the power and water went out and the hotel couldn't get them back on. They weren't sure they could until morning. That meant no fan, no shower, no toilet--we just couldn't do it...we had to leave. We moved to a resort down the street and the Piedra de Agua staff was very gracious about it. The resort was the usual junky average all-inclusive sort of place that you go to a Piedra-style hotel to avoid. If I ever came back to the area, I would rebook Piedra and hope for the power to stay on!
• rikardafrica (10/5): Tranquil & relaxing! - Wish I could keep this place a secret. Just such a calming and relaxing environment with the pool, jacuzzi and private outside bath. Specifically as the whole layout of the lodge is in between the nature. No restaurant, no problem, they have a menu and with in no-time it was delivered (by the lodge staff) to your room. Small well thought of details are visible everywhere. Well deserved!

Perfect for a romantic getaway and to get disconnected from every day life Palenque is a magical place by it self
• GeorgeLaszlo (6/5): Very nice but far from perfect - We spent half a night in the hotel. The reason for leaving at 3 am was the rain. Our bedroom was comfortable but the two sides of the door were open just a mosquito net between us and the jungle. The terrace was covered with a plastic roof. The rain was like crazy loud drums all night. As it was impossible to sleep we rather got in our car and left for our next stop at 3 am. Do not go when it rains. Otherwise the place is ok the people are nice. Lot of mosquitoes though.

The hot tub is a nice touch (could have been a little hotter though) . Perfectly located for our visit to Palenque and all the other attractions .. like "los aluxes" Would recommend it to a friend.
