Nous avons eu droit à une très grande chambre, très confortable, sans chichis. Nous avons dîné dans un restaurant ( qui dépend de l’hôtel) à proximité sous les platanes au bord de l’Ariege et nous avons pris un petit déjeuner très copieux… le tout pour un prix très correct . Je vous recommande cet établissement.

• Olga (10/5): Un hotel excelente para descubrir L'Ariege - Hemos venido a descubrir L'Ariege y hemos escogido este hotel por su situación con estación de tren para olvidarse del coche. Con mucho parking cerca del hotel. En el centro de una bonita población con excursiones y actividades..Nos hemos encontrado con un servicio excelente, agradable y una habitación amplia, luminosa y muy confortable. Lo único que hemos encontrado a faltar es un ascensor. Por lo restante, un 10 para este fantástico hotel con restauración muy correcta y desayuno completo. Lo recomendaremos y guardaremos un buen recuerdo de nuestro paso por aquí. Gracias por todo.

• Nadia (2/5): - Chambre pas propre, non nettoyée. C'est désagréable lorsqu'on est en mission et on attend juste de se détendre dans sa chambre d'hôtel. Réclamation faite aupres de l'accueil. J'ai laisse ma chambre le temps de dîner pour renettoyer la chambre. On me certifie que cest fait, il est 22h de retour je retrouve la chambre pas propre. Je demande à être relogé dans une autre chambre on m'indique que l'hôtel est complet. La responsable s'excuse et me demande de patienter pour à nouveau nettoyer la chambre. Je dois donc revenir au bar, il est 22h30, je regagne ma chambre, nettoyée mais malheureusement je constate que le dessous de lit est poussièreux, des tâches sur les draps et une vmc chargé de salissures , photos en preuve. Malgré les bons avis sur le site, il y a eu un loupé sur ce logement. Quel déception, etant donné que cette situation m'a gâché une soirée.
• Robert (8/5): - The hotel is located on the main street through the town. The room was modern and comfortable and located in b beautiful spot next to the Ariege river. Breakfast was a bit limited by a broken automatic coffee machine (the waitress brought us our coffee from another part of the restaurant) and a shortage of croissants, but this was far from serioius. Dinner in the Bellevue, below the hotel was passable, especially with a cheese plate and a glass of the local wine. What really bothered us was the noise from the motorcycles blasting through the center of the town, gunning their engines as they rounded the curve next to the hotel until well past evening -- a shame, as otherwise the hotel rated 5 stars.

Personnel professionnel et très souriant. Toujours prêt à arranger sa clientèle. Le restaurant est à conseiller, pour la qualité de sa cuisine comme pour sa vue sur la rivière.

• Todd M (8/5): One Night in Tarascon-sur-Ariège - Parking for the hotel was convenient across the street. The hotel staff was very welcoming. We arrived near sunset and had a lovely dinner in their adjoining restaurant. The room was comfortable and the view was also very nice. We stayed one night. It was very quiet on a national holiday but we walked around and took lots of appealing photos. Attractive location.

• Amy (10/5): Perfect stay with a bit of luxury - Fantastic hotel. We had wonderful room 26, which, after a few nights in a basic/ older fashioned French hotels, was an absolute treat. The room was triple aspect with lovely views over the river and town. The shower and toiletries were excellent... and the hot tub bath an unexpected bit of luxury! Very comfortable bed and pillows, with extra bedding available (we didn't need it as we visited during a July heatwave, but I imagine this would be useful for winter stays). The in-room air conditioning unit was also very effective, and everything spotlessly clean. We ate downstairs one night and had a fantastic meal with great service. In fact the customer service throughout was fantastic in every way. We would stay again in a flash, and certainly recommend to others!

The smell of cigarette smoke and the noise outside our rooms from the hotel’s bar was almost unbearable. We won’t stay here again if we knew we were being assigned these rooms!

• Verified traveler (6/5): Not very hospitable - If I got to make the choice over again, I wouldn't have stayed here. They did absolutely nothing during our stay to make us feel welcome. There's a bar and a restaurant attached to the hotel and it's filled with regulars day/night who all just seem to be hanging out. It's as if the hotel part was an afterthought. Our room was large and the beds were comfortable but we were on the 2nd floor and there was no elevator. Worse, the stairs seemed to be homemade, and got really small as they turned a corner. When you're lugging a suitcase, it's downright dangerous. They say they have parking available, but the woman basically refused when I asked, telling me it would be better "for me" if I parked out on the street.
• retired couple (6/5): Ok but we wouldn't go back - The room had a lovely view of the river but was small. The main problem was the entry was through an outdoor cafe with an awning and plastic sides. This kept all the smoke inside so it was unpleasant to pass through each day on your way in and out. And it was uncomfortable at times to feel the patrons looking you over. The staff runs a bar next door to the checkout desk so sometimes you have to wait until they are free.

The food is good and plentiful and restaurant is right next to picturesque Ariege. Great location and Tarascon is a delightful town with some lovely town walks and great base for exploration. • Javier (8/5): HOTEL TRADICIONAL FRANCÉS MUY RECOMENDABLE. - Hotel tradicional pero reformado recientemente,las habitaciones tienen cierto diseño y encanto aunque haría falta algún detalle más para hacerlo acogedor.Son espaciosas y luminosas.Luces de lectura individuales. El personal habla español,muy atento y hospitalario.Pudimos llegar a las 12 de la noche sin problemas,nos esperaron.Parking gratis en la plaza de enfrente.No hay frigorífico.Guardan el equipaje si lo necesitas. Vistas al río,a la montaña y al pueblo.Panaderías y pastelerías cerca.Oficina de Turismo.Actividades de ocio sin límite en la zona. La idea de dormir aquí en vez de Andorra (nuestro destino) no tuvo precio.Buena insonorización en las ventanas aunque el ambiente no lo necesita. Impagable levantarse por la mañana y abrir las ventanas y ver el pueblo,el puente,la catedral y la montaña al fondo,con el leve sonido del agua y de los patos que vienen a visitarnos. Sentimos ver y comentar que el suelo de la habitación y del balcón les hacía falta un barrido mas a fondo. Hay una habitación que tiene jacuzzi.Volveremos.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel TerraNostra, Tarascon sur Ariege - Family holiday with two young-ish children. The hotel is located in the centre of town and was easy to find. There is plenty of free parking in the adjacent square or car parks a very short walk away. The welcome at reception was courteous and efficient although we would have appreciated being told who was who at the hotel. The room was spacious, tidy (cleaned daily) and had a large, modern bathroom. Beds were excellent and we all slept well. The view overlooking the river with the backdrop of mountains was very pleasant. Food in the restaurant was good and the staff very helpful. Tarascon has somewhat limited dining and shopping options but the basics are there and it is a good base to explore the surrounding area. Overall, a pleasant stay and we would recommend the hotel.
• afsmw516 (10/5): Great stay, hard to find - The nicely refurbished rooms were a pleasant surprise, although finding the hotel was very difficult. There is an awning covering the restaurant in front of it and blocks the view of the name of the hotel. We had to ask a local person where the address was, since buildings are very often not numbered efficiently (if at all) in France. Once we found the place, the staff was friendly and got us booked in nicely. We were given the only room with a balcony overlooking the river Ariege, which was a nice perk!
• Juliet (8/5): Quelle belle vue! - A clean, up-to-date, well -appointed hotel. Very nice bathrooms, gorgeous views. Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant too, as well as nice buffet breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

• kevin (6/5): One night stay in a nice quiet town in the Pyrenees - We wanted to expierience a night in a town in the Pyrenees and we picked this town and hotel from other recommendations. Hotel a little dated but in a nice setting. Staff were friendly, restaurant in a lovely setting with good food. Hotel has no lift so if you are not able to carry cases up stairs watch out. Lovely town very picturesque well worth a visit has some beautiful features. Not a great choice of places to eat on a Sunday evening.
• john (10/5): Bit of a gem - Lovely modern hotel right on the bank of the river Ariege. Fantastic views of the Pyrenees and a surprisingly comfortable and spacious room. Staff very friendly and food excellent. Not much goes on in Tarascon but this hotel is superb for a stop while touring the area
• Annie (8/5): On the river in a sleepy little town - The hotel has been refurbished and the town is on a main route between Spain and France. The tunnel on this routeis currently closed for maintenance so be prepared for a long winding road through the mountains if travelling from Spain.
• Jon (10/5): Escape to Tarascon-sur-Ariege & Hotel TerraNostra - Visited Tarascon-sur-Ariege and surrounding area. Food at the hotel's restaurant (Bellevue) was delicious and service was prompt. Also enjoyed the local wines. All staff were very helpful even though their English and our French needed a bit of help (thanks to Lovely Planet translation books). Pricing for accommodation was appropriate. The hotel is totally renovated, upscale, modern, rooms are comfortable but European sized. The hotel is conveniently located to laundromat (steps away), pâtisseries and boulangeries, markets (intermarchets), food priced from $8-40 Euros depnding on meal and what is ordered. Seafood was Wonderful and fresh! The town is simply charming, however, many businesses were closed at odd hours (compared to what U.S. citizens may be used to). Visited surrounding caves and museums. Wonderful!
