- Holli Davies (9/5): - We stayed over a weekend and when you first arrived the hotel is beautiful from the outside, and when you enter it exceeds expectations. The hotel is very well decorated and clean throughout. The staff were so lovely and accomodating. We stayed in the Elm room and it was very spacious. The room had all the amenities, including a nespresso coffee machine! The bed was very comfy. The hotel even went out of their way to provide a complimentary celebration plate for our anniversary. The only negative I had, was the parking at the hotel wasn't great. There were only a few spaces available and if there was a wedding taking place, I think guests would really struggled to park.

Rooms are beautiful and have great names rather than numbers. My only negative with this hotel is, at the bar they put a service change on each drink. I do think that on food a service charge is acceptable. However, on pulling a pint and handing it to you at the bar I think this is a little cheeky and wrong.

Decor was very nice but did maybe look a touch sparce. Asked for a room with bath & bath was HUGE! There was no air conditioning in the room and notices advising not to open the windows due to location (trees/lakeside) so room was too warm in the night. room looked slightly 'worn', marks on the wall behind the bin, furniture with chips, but nothing too bad

We never used the restaurant but the Captains bar food was very nice. Lack of information in rooms regarding amenities in the hotel and visiting surroundings. Extreme levels of noise from above room. We heard every footstep loudly creaking on floor which badly interrupted sleep. Shower in room not disabled friendly after asking for walk in shower and one more than the other had to be helped to get in and out.

The room we had was perfect for us and our friends room was gorgeous as well. Bar food lovely - we ate both nights there. Breakfast tasty and plentiful. ALL the staff were attentive and very welcoming. Charlotte one of the waiting staff was super friendly . Thank you all. We WILL be back

From the moment we arrived, the setting felt wonderfully tranquil and refined. The hotel is beautifully nestled within nature, offering a true sense of peace and seclusion. We particularly cherished the gentle walks around the grounds, accompanied by the soothing sounds of wild songbirds and wood pigeons—an experience that felt both restorative and quietly luxurious. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which enhanced the overall atmosphere of comfort and ease. We stayed in the Bay room, which was wonderfully private and serene. It quickly became our favourite aspect of the stay—an elegant, peaceful retreat that allowed us to fully unwind. On our first evening, we dined at the hotel and shared our meals. Unfortunately, later that night I became unwell with stomach discomfort and nausea, and my husband also experienced some indigestion. While we cannot be certain of the cause, it was an unexpected interruption to an otherwise lovely stay. Breakfast the following morning did not quite meet the same high standard as the rest of the experience, as elements of the meal were slightly underwhelming. That said, we chose to dine elsewhere for the remainder of our visit, allowing us to continue enjoying everything else the hotel has to offer. Overall, our stay at Nunsmere Hotel was truly memorable for its beautiful surroundings, calming atmosphere, excellent service, and the comfort of our room. We would happily return in the future and would highly recommend it to those seeking a peaceful countryside escape—with the intention of exploring alternative dining options nearby.

- Peter (4/5): Could be really nice but heating the rooms needs to be fixed - Location and size of room Only radiator working was in the bathroom, two radiators in the bedroom not working. Reported to reception and told would ask manager if they could switch heating on. Waited one hour and reported same to reception, came back after dinner to a clod room however someone had placed an electric fan heater in the room but not plugged it in. Asked for another room but told fully booked. Manager advised that they were aware of issues with heating but not in our room which is worrying as they were full! Eventually offered discount for inconvenience. Wooden floor looked very tired and poorly repaired which was very noisy to walk on. We were also sent pre registration email asking for a copy of my driving licence for fraud prevention. I'm not sure but would think this contravenes data protection especially as I had already paid in advance for the room. Finally shower floor dangerous as very slippery.

- estelle311248 (10/5): Wonderful Hotel, Staff Amazing, Food & Cleanliness Beyond Compare - Just arrived home from one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in. The room was so lovely, overlooking the side of the hotel with a beautiful view of the garden. It was clean and the bed & pillows so soft and comfortable. It was our wedding anniversary and in the room was a card and a beautiful plate with two lovely little cakes set on a plate with a chocolate pattern congratulating us, it was so thoughtful and a lovely thing to do. The breakfast and evening meal was also very good. The staff so helpful and kind in particular the receptionist, she seemed to go out of her way to be kind and helpful. We can't wait to go again !00% recommend it.

Great for events like weddings and other significant events. Had food in the bar which was very tasty. Breakfast was continental and full English with high quality ingredients. TV reception depends on the weather. WiFi strength is variable. Just a few niggles. The room telephone was hardly audible and the volume could not be increased. The bathroom has a bath tub with a shower head attached to the wall but only gives cold water. The bath taps also had a shower attachment but one has to hold it, so water goes all over the floor. Heated tower rail either not switched on or not working. Check out time is very early 10.30am. You can have later check out at 12.30pm for £25. However all in all a good stay and exceptional value for bed and breakfast.

Would have been good to be able to order non alcoholic beverages and warm drinks in the marque bar, and it would have been 5 star if the bath wasn’t broken!

From checking in we were greeted by a lovely chatty lady.I had requested a ground floor room due to my poor disability. The room was so big and so spacious, it had everything you would want, the king-size bed had cotton sheets, very plump pillows, slept so well, room was heated lovely. Evening meal was fine dining at its best and delicious. Breakfast the next morning again service was spot on and the breakfast was hot and the plate was hot, you had everything you would want. We went outside to have a look around, it was so peaceful, we stood for ages just looking at the lake alone, as we walked around, other people doing the same, and every body stopped to chat. The staff are a credit to this hotel, so attentive, polite, and helpful. I think you would hard to find a place to stay better.we enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again. Once on the grounds it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere yet in reality you are a few hundred yards away from a decent road which leads you to local villages and the M6. Rooms are out of this world just look at the website. Very quiet. Every member of staff I encountered was 5*+. This place is a real gem, a genuine slice of another world. (Well for us anyway) A huge thank you to all the staff at Nunsmere hall for making us feel so welcome. Value, well just check out the room rates but, sit down, you are about to be very surprised. (In a good way)

Disappointed that we were allocated our rooms (Yew & Delphinium, both beautiful) on the side for the building overlooking the wedding marquee. I had been advised that there was a wedding taking place but had not been advised of the marquee and music prior to our arrival and only found out that the music would finish at Midnight, which it did, when I enquired after returning to the hotel after 10 pm. I would have thought that rooms for non wedding guests would, as a courtesy, have been allocated on the opposite side of the building.

- I1730RIjohnm (8/5): Fabulous hotel but beware of other events at the hotel. - We had a business appointment in the Winsford area of Cheshire. Rather than do the driving there and back, a round trip of 4-5 hours, we decided to stay the night before our meeting in the area. We found the Nunsmere Hotel online and liked the look of it. We booked in, Amelia on reception was wonderful. She was polite, professional, informative, and nothing was too much trouble. We were allocated a beautiful room (although slightly dodgy shower) with a pretty outlook. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and all round a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was tasty and the service was faultless. We enjoyed it so much we decided to stay for a second night and not rush off straight after our meeting. However, there was a wedding on in the hotel which clearly took staff priority and the guests took over all public rooms in the hotel. So we went to our room, the noise of the entertainment went on until late. We loved this hotel but in the future we will always check what is going on there before we commit ourselves.

- U3056ASjosepha (10/5): Gorgeous Mother’s Day meal - Went to Nunsmere today (15/3) for the Mother’s Day Sunday menu and was really impressed. First time coming for a meal here and would be back again! On arrival the hotel was beautiful, reception really tidy (noticed you have recently won a couple of awards!) directed to our table by a lovely girl on reception (sorry didn’t get her name) and then we sat down. The room was lovely a bright and nice to see lots of tables full of families. Our starters were really well presented and tasted lovely and the roast to follow was spot on. Beef was pink and my partner had the veggie option which she said was really tasty all cooked really well. A special thank you for the adjustments made for a member of the family who couldn’t have the deserts but had a lovely bowl of sorbet! Service was brilliant all the staff were really friendly and polite. Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend eating there and hope to return!

- 595ZAL (10/5): Classic English Elegance Near Historic Chester. - I stayed at Nunsmere Hall Hotel during my visit to the lovely historic city of Chester and had a wonderful experience. The hotel has a beautiful sense of classic English elegance. The property is peaceful, surrounded by lovely grounds, and everything is extremely well maintained. What I noticed right away was how clean everything was. From the rooms to the common areas, the attention to detail was obvious. Breakfast was excellent and a very pleasant way to start the morning. The staff were fantastic throughout my stay. Everyone was polite, welcoming, and helpful. I would especially like to mention Sana at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. I would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chester and looking for a refined and relaxing place to stay.
- AHS181139 (10/5): Wonderful hotel and service. - We had a lovely stay in this wonderful hotel. Guest reception were always very welcoming each morning and on our return at the end of each day. Great breakfast cooked to order. Our room was very spacious and beautifully presented. We explored the surrounding countryside and canals. We will return hopefully.

- Kev1980 (7/5): - Dinner charged £25 for 1 chicken breast with half a teaspoon of gravy and barely more than a couple of forks of shredded potato a portion way too small for a £25 main course. Also a room waa booked and dinner and there was no dinner allowance awarded. The total food bill on top of the room cost paid was over £8,6 for 2 people. But with little food provided. Considering the main courses are higher priced they could at least foll the plate with food!

- 785tomj (8/5): One night for my birthday - Nunsmere Hall and its staff were very welcoming, Sana who we met at reception was very polite and friendly and explained everything to detail. The room was very spacious but in the attic with all the beams showing, would not choose this one again ,very claustrophobic. Very clean room ,but a little tired, just a bit of tlc required. Excellent food in the restaurant from the lounge menu , better choice on the bar menu. Service was good . A lovely visit and would return.

- Steve (9/5): Lovely quiet location, highly recommended - Classy hotel in a lovely woodland setting. Very clean and easy check in. My room was huge and so was the en-suite. Lovely deep bath. Nice toiletries and plenty of hot water. Bath filled very quickly too.

- Tan (9/5): Comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in, Amazing quality and beautiful hotel/grounds - The bed and pillows were the comfiest I’ve ever slept in. Happy to visit again just for the bed. breakfast choice was only 2 items continental which was a little lacking. Or full English. Needs more choice.

- elliott (8/5): Peaceful snd great location - Beautiful building snd location. If you want peace this is the place to go. Staff are generally friendly and efficient. Rooms are of a generous size snd well equipped. The only thing I didn’t like was that the menu is limited in the restaurant.

- X4562SCtanyas (10/5): A beautiful, romantic getaway. - Came for a romantic break with my partner, we had the most wonderful time here. The staff were so attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The room was beautiful, huge and spotless! The roll top bath and double shower were lovely touches and we got to spend some real quality time together away from everyday life, we can’t wait to return! The food was incredible, we had dinner and breakfast, exceptional service. We would love to thank the whole team for making our stay so special!
- GlyderFawr (8/5): Exactly as I imagined - Would stay again for the same price, £51 room only. Arrived late, left early. The room was clean and had a big bath. It was great, just what we needed after a long drive. The room was spacious with a high ceiling to give it a nice feel. Comfy big bed and the room was quiet. Staff all pleasant.
- markgU868QX (10/5): Another relaxing stay - Another stay at Nunsmere and another great experience. The hotel is very relaxing and food is excellent. Staf are supper helpful and professional which makes the whole experience worth every penny. will be staying again.
- DIANNE (10/5): Fabulous location handy for Cheshire events - The rooms were exceptional and great value, you can enjoy walks and it is handy for Cheshire events. The bar food is top class, also the restaurant food is amazing. Nothing keep your price at this reasonable rate and remain positive.

- MARIAN (10/5): A very relaxing break, where we were well looked after in a lovely hotel. - Nunsmere Hall Hotel is a lovely traditional hotel. Friendly staff, proper breakfast, with tea and coffee pots - not serve yourself - same with toast, served at your table. We had a small meal in the Captain's Bar which was nicely served and tasty. The room was large as was the bed and lovely hot water in the shower. A very nice break. The room we had was in the eaves of the building and although it was quirky it was a pain having to mind your head when walking around. Due to the layout of the room the TV was placed away from the bed and chairs so was not the best arrangement.
- MARK (7/5): Don't be too trusting. - Nice retro feel. Comfy beds. Decent cuisine. Demand for personal ID data for couldn't checkin online, which we didn't. Data security!?! 10% service charge on everything WITHOUT notice. Even the bar bill. Check your invoice! Limited dinner menu choice, decent but limited.
