- Nedim (10/5): - Our rooms were very spacious, with huge bathroom including shower, tub, all toiletries, etc. The bed was super large and comfortable, light controls, A/C was simple. Hotel is located on Tianyi Square, with many shops and cafes around, and lots of interesting sightseeing options in walking distance. Breakfast (charged separately) was good, with lots of options and nice taste, with good coffee. However, we used it only once (during 3 night stay) and instead ee went outside. Staff wss super friendly and helpful and this is one of the nicest hotel experiences in China so far. Massage prices in SPA were way overrated (similar to many 5 star hotels in Shanghai) so I haven't used this service, though I really wanted to as my trip was exhausting. However, This is not something consider as important thing.

- uraweek (8/5): Great Location, Comfortable Stay with a Few Quirks - I recently stayed at The Westin Ningbo and overall had a good experience. The hotel’s location is excellent — everything you need is close by, including restaurants, shops, and convenience stores. I was in room 2210, which had a bit of an unusual layout compared to other rooms, possibly because it’s on the opposite side of the main room corridors. Still, the room was spacious and comfortable. There was a faint smoke smell when I entered, which might bother sensitive guests, but it wasn’t overpowering. The bathroom featured both a shower and bathtub, and the hot water supply was consistent — something I really appreciated. The provided shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel had a pleasant scent. The bed was super comfy, true to Westin’s signature standard. As for the facilities, the female locker room is connected to the indoor swimming pool and includes a steam room. However, the area is quite small and can feel a bit busy—not exactly a peaceful spot to relax. There are two whirlpools (one hot, one cold), but unfortunately neither was in use during my visit, as there was no water in them. Breakfast was really nice — nothing particularly fancy or made from special ingredients, but the taste was genuinely good, and there was a wide variety of options to choose from.

- derekehchew (10/5): Great location, comfortable interiors, fantastic morning view - I had a short stay in the Westin Ningbo as i was passing through. The hotel is located a short distance away from the Ningbo Train station. Surroundings have quite a number of restaurant with a large mall a short distance away. Rooms are really nice, spacious and comfortable. Was a really nice surprise as I don’t really have a high status with the Marriot group. The bed of course meets Westin’s excellent standards considering they sell their beds. If I’m ever in Ningbo again, I’ll definitely try this place again
- XiaoF (4/5): Warning! Avoid this place! - Stayed here for just one night. To be honest, I have lowered my expectation due to CNY but the whole stay was completely ruined eventually. Here is the incidents list: 1. Arrival: - Front desk queue was disorgnized. As there are only two staffs working on check-in matters, the whole area was flooded with impatient guests and there's NO guest guiding/escorting. I had to wait more then 30mins to reach the counter. 2. Poor housekeeping: - Massive stain on sofa. Yellowing bathtub. - Empty wall mounting shower gel bottle. (I had to call the front desk to get a refill while I was taking a shower) 3. Breakfast: - Again, Disorgnized. First-come-first-serve should be a common sense, but appreantly, their reception don't work this way. - Food shortage. Pastry station EMPTY! Noodle station, only plain noodle, Vermicelli OUT! Rice cake OUT! Egg station, only sunny side up! Coffee machine, running out of milk! Lagging service! 4. Attitudes towards complain: - I have filed a case regarding the items above at my 10 am and till my check out at 4pm, I don't even got an oral apology for my poor experience from the front desk. - (At 8pm the same day) Hotel GSM send me an email (apperantly it is from a template), "promising" a suite upgrade for my next future visit. Humiliating!

Lovely breakfast. Good Executive Lounge, with great drinks, and a nice food selection. No smokers this time, which was nice. :) Great views! As before, Video on Demand, or an ability to watch movies on a USB on the television would be great. We had a very nice suite, and a most enjoyable stay. Recommended.

As others have commented, it is strange that smoking seems to be allowed in the Lounge. The swimming pool is lovely. The food and drinks in the lounge are much better than in the past. The lounge staff were excellent when we last stayed. Iris Zhu, in particular, was very attentive. Very nice breakfast. Video on Demand, or an ability to watch movies on a USB on the television would be great. Recommended.

Location is ok to go outside. So a place to go back. Absolutely a perfect reference during your travel.

Floor Westin Club - I wondering why the hotel staff allowed some guests to smoke in public areas of the Westin hotel, I think the non smoking law is applicable for everyone! The hotel staff pretend they don’t know that people smoked at the club floor, that’s the most ridiculous answer you can get!

Bed is too soft and bouncy, although not uncomfortable, I guess this is pure personal preference. Breakfast was extremely mediocre, not up to Westin standard. Location is fantastic, very convenient to the mall across the street for everything you want.
- LISHUER (10/5): it's a nice stay around the tianyi square - business trip to ningbo. Condersing the convivence, i chosed the westin at tianyi square. In face, it's a nice stat as well. lobby offer express CI and CO, the room was upgraded to 36th floor. Nightscape was pretty well.
- DennisHK2013 (2/5): Never never come back again in winter time...... - 冬天的時候不要入住這家酒店。。。客房溫度為26.5 度。。。根本不能入睡。。。。只希望盡快離開。。。客務根本解決不了這個問題。。。。。 I have been staying in this hotel for numerous time, but I hope I will never been back again.....really really disappointed..... The room temperature was kept at 26.5 degree which is so hot that I cannot sleep. I contacted their staff and was told that this hotel has no air conditioning during so called 'winter time'. However, the daily temperature is about 21 to 23 degree with a sunny day during my stay. 1. Their staff suggest me to change the room which I did but it is just the same. 2. Their staff mentioned that during this period, hotel only provide ventilation or room heating no matter what temperature the room is. 3. They told me that was out of their ability to solve this problem due to hotel facility issue and they offer option to provide a fan or open the window but they did not realize how noisy outside. I am already on floor 32.

- SAGarrison (4/5): Hot, hot, hot - I'm a firm believer that Western hotel brands overseas should be stripped of their brand of they don't meet basic expectations. In this case, everything about the hotel was good except my night's sleep--which is pretty much the most important thing about a hotel. I could not get my room temperature below 26C/80F and couldn't open the hotel-locked windows for any relief. Made for terrible sleep. Turning the AC on made it worse (only blew hot air). The result was a night of fitful sleep with multiple sweat drenched wake ups. Temp control in a room is one of those basic features of a Western hotel. Since this Westin does not allow the guest to control the room temperature it should not be named a Western hotel brand name. This would at least serve as a warning to potential guests that they should expect typical Chinese room features and not the features they might expect from a real Westin.
- queenbeelish (2/5): Westin Ningbo - I would give this 0 star if I could. Stayed at the upgraded room - suite 1209 which you access through 2 fire doors down a long narrow corridor that is poorly lit. The suite is nasty, room smells musty. I tried to change room but no luck and I am Titanium Elite. Non existent lobby unless you consider 4 chairs a lobby lounge. The executive lounge food is terrible and the place is so poorly lit. Same goes for the buffet restaurant. Not much help if you need English speaking staff. I do not recommend this hotel at all and regretted that I did not check out after one night.

- jamesmcw (2/5): A frumpy mess and scam - Based on the beautiful photos on the Bonvoy app and the premium price they charge -- which I checked was comparable to the Park Hyatt Shanghai on the same night -- you would think this is a top tier property. Well it's not. The rooms are a frumpy mess and poorly maintained -- mine smelled musty, the carpet was frayed, the mattress was visibly warped and I had to push the door with my shoulder to open it.

- AsiaS1319 (2/5): Terrible Service - Checked in to the Hotel around 935pm Long day working and had not eaten. Went to room and ordered room service which was difficult due to English understanding so I was not impressed with this. I checked in 930pm, No platinum arrival gift of beverage or snack. just points then I ordered room service. it took 50 minutes to get the order when it arrived the wine was incorrect and the server did not show me the bottle as he poured the glass and he did not ask me to taste it. After he left I decide to eat, and notice no french fries delivered and the sirloin steak(rmb348) was cold. Wine was wrong. I telephoned to complain and was told I wont have to pay , WOW what a help that was. I put food outside door to return. I decided to just go watch TV and sleep but then discovered TV Channels only 4 English all had interference so unwatchable I got a call 45 min later and was told the manager will explain to me what happen in the morning , But nobody contacted me or explained the reasoning.in the morning. I will not stay here again and will return to the Marriott
- EELSM (6/5): Good location but nothing much more - We seldom stayed at the Westin hotel so we decided to give it a try. Location of the hotel was the best thing and everything went down from there. Our room was dated with old sofa and questionable curtain and shade. Room switches were weird and we had to guess many times before we can turn on/off lights. The only saving grace was the comfortable bed, pillows and lavender essential oil provided to help us sleep well. Bathroom was spacious but quality of construction was of low standard. Many fixtures had moving parts and we constantly had to fix them ourselves. Staff at front desk was not trained properly. We used our points to redeem our second night and reminded them that we wanted to keep the same room. They said no problem but disabled our keys the next day. Our room was not cleaned by 3;30 pm and they weren't apologetic a bit. We had to sit at the lobby while they fixed our key and room Breakfast was bad, with stale choices, we were told it was $94/person but $220 for two. Couldn't figure out the logic, with the price and the quality received, one would be better off eating at the McDonald across the street. View from the 39th was fantastic. Although we are long time Marriott members, we weren't invited to the lounge which is not a good sign of showing their appreciation for our business. This was a let down when we compared to what we would have received at their competitor, the H chain of hotels... Our best experience of Westin Ningbo was the service provide by Kevin Cai at the concierge desk, he was knowledgeable, helpful and responsible. A true and rare asset of this hotel.
- ssrdk (8/5): Good location and value for money - Have stayed here many times both on business and family trips the past 6 years. The location is just perfect as you can walk across the road to Tianyi Square for local food and the supermarket or walk across the bridge to the bund and you have all the bars for drinks and western food. Rooms are fairly spacious and service is good, however the hotel in general starts to be a bit worn. Chinese companies are increasing their number of conventions in this hotel, and breakfast can be a bit busy if 200 convention guests go for breakfast at the same time.
- harristhepooh (8/5): Needed a bit improvement to make it back to SPG standard - As a person that stays mostly only in SPG hotels, I think some parts are definitely not up to SPG standard, let's sum up below -- Good stuff - 1. Hotel is clean, bed is clean and bathroom is clean. No doubt about it. 2. Customer service answering the duty phone is very polite and prompt in service, very good. 3. It is a modern design, very nice since in this part of China there do have some pretending to be vintage design, which really makes me stay away from them. 4. It is literally in the very central of Ningbo, with a huge shopping mall next to the hotel, there are plenty of things to go for even at night. Okay, now go to the not so good stuff. 1. The bed is terribly soft, way too soft. We were in a group and some of us including myself complained neckpain after waking up the next morning. 2. Had funny experience to both bars - rooftop bar and lobby lounge. So I was heading to the rooftop bar, one of the staff member was actually walking in front of me into the bar and she greeted me. She then went into the back of house area and nowhere to be seen. So I was standing in front of the bar table waiting to be attended. During this time all I can see is a lady customer talking on phone behind the bar area, where they prepare the drinks and none of the staff members were there. So I waited and after 5 minutes there was still no staff to be seen, I decided to leave and went to the lobby lounge. Over there, there was a female staff attending the bar alone, and I asked for a gin tonic, she was so panic and started looking at her notebook see how to make it. Apparently she did not make it before and I think she was a new staff. At the end I did not enjoy the drink and just leave the lobby lounge. For a hotel in this level, I do not think this is acceptable. 3. The breakfast buffet is very much a Chinese style buffet, and the selection is okay but more on Chinese food and only okay western food. The plates however were not dry after washing and had large amount of water remain on every plate. I only experience this situation when going to some local run food store but not in a 5 stars luxury hotel. To be honest I was a bit disappointed by this. One last thing, one night at 1am there was a drunk guy tried to use his key to open my room, and even called the staff member for help. Only then the staff member realised he went to the wrong floor. This is not the hotel's fault but I would recommend the hotel only allowing key card to access to their assigned floor to improve safety for all hotel guests.
- MarcoM947 (10/5): Perfect location, excellent service - This hotel is close to the intersection of the rivers, the area where you may want to spend your evening when in Ningbo (the Zhongma pedestrian road is 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel, as well as the Xinjiang bridge with the nice view of the river, recommended at night time to enjoy the light show from the buildings). The staff is very kind and service minded, with no exception. Breakfast is really excellent, very wide selection, actually well above the average. Nice rooftop bar (just that we could not pay by credit card, maybe a malfunction? we got to bill the room). The rooms are very comfortable, with large bathrooms and full set of amenities. Very comfy beds, very silent rooms (even the climate control fan, which is quite annoying sometimes, can be lowered not to disturb). My room was at the 12th floor, no sound from the street level. Restaurants (among which Seasonal Tastes, which we tried and was excellent) in the same building. I tried laundry service, very quick and well done. It happened that I forgot a bag at the concierge desk, after a few minutes I was delivered it at the room - this was very appreciated. The sole details I did not understand: - how to adjust the temperature of the room, the setting returned to 25.5 not matter how much I tried to change it - why are some features (lamps, holders) mounted not straight, just an aesthetical matter No matter what, even if it may not be as much as an American Westin facility, it is clear that the personnel are really doing a good job (without expecting the tips which you shall give at an American Westin) and that makes my 5 points rating.

If you turn it off one cannot breathe in the room.in executive lounge, air condition didn't work at all.

We can enjoy river-side walking with great feast of lights and comfortable breezing. Appreciating for the service of wine for celebration. The ratio who can speak, understand English is not relatively high among international hotels with over 4.5 stars in China. They seemed only applicable to elementary English in almost categories. Not easy to communicate with correctly. We could not recognize who was, were the concierges. Seemed information, own services had not been shared with among staffs. Swimming pool and its related facilities are good for women, but not for men. (cold jacuzzi bath, etc.) There were a few cheerful, warm hearted staffs, but almost seemed dull, not positive in services, hospitalities. We could never get the replies to our queries even on We-Chat.

- kay mang (6/5): very disappointed from the brand of hotel - room is very small, the lift area at each floor is strange, you need to pass thru two fire doors to go to the guest room area, it looks like a back door area and scare. there are two switches at the room is to control all the lights, you could only choose to turn all of them on or off. No optional choice.
