Guest Reviews
- Efton (4/5): - This place need to renovate and to learnd your employed how to be kind with clients
- Max (10/5): - I spent almost 3 weeks there...love ut
- Max (10/5): - As you can see I extended my stay, Meaning it is My favourite Hotel or and I am in Haiti.
- Max (10/5): - The thing about Kemael...it is like being home. You know where you can have friends around the swiming pool ...having a good time where you do not havec to pay extra.
I have an another hotel before ..more expensive...but the feeling of being homevaway from home was not there.
Actually...it is not my first nor my last time...and unless they are sold out...Kemael is my first choice
- Jack (10/5): - Staff is always friendly and eager to help. Room attendants, ground keepers, and dining staff are always there to assist with guest needs. This is my main location to stay when I come to port au prince.
- Jack (10/5): - Staff was great. Edwin is very nice and welcoming. Thé owner took time and spoke to meet with open arms and welcomes me back in future travels. This location is a hidden gem and I welcome all to come and see what I see. I usually stayed at serv. Hôtel and a friend recommended this at my last trip in July and ever since then, this has been my location to sleep when I am on both business and pleasure.
- Wael (4/5): Do not recommend it at all - The only good thing about this hotel was the cleanliness of the room and bed. Apart from that it was unpleasant experience.
The electricity is on only from 5:30 pm till 9:30 am next day then they switch off the generator and there is no electricity and off course no A/C or fan.
The breakfast is awful and so little.
The swimming pool is so dirty and half full. There are some gym equipment none of them is working and most probably they were bought from a scrap yard.
- Jean Rony (6/5): - the hotel don’t have hot water , im not gonna stay there no more
- Ben (4/5): - The only good thing about that place : the rooms are not small . Everything else is horrible . The food is not really good and it’s very expensive. They cut the electricity every day from 10 am to 4pm . Dust everywhere. They barely give you something for breakfast . Terrible experience
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No electricity no clean room and only me customer at the hotel, i wast stay at the hotel for only one night i just need my money for the nights back. When we try to call them no one answer the phone
- Lovely (2/5): - When you see the property it’s looks nice but the services was bad.
The I went there I couldn’t shower because these no water I slept with out shower no energy doing the day the not really clean these hot water when the water come it’s like a leak.OMG it’s was bad
- KreyolGuest (4/5): - I really did like to come here for the affordability but what I disliked the most was that the prices listed on the menu was not the price we were charged for our food. The woman claimed the price had change but the next morning when we talked to the young men, the prices on the menu matched the prices we were charged.
They need to clean the pool, it is very dirty. Also please inform the guest when there will be no running water because we sometimes have very important appointments in the morning and we would not like to leave without taking a shower.
- Hughens-moliere (10/5): - KEMAEL HOTEL 🤩🤩🤩Best hotel in Haiti the environnement is great, the staff is wonderful always make you feel like home and don’t forget about the food 😍😍😍” KEMAEL FOR LIFE”” come see it yourself believe me you you’ll have day at kemael hotel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It’s was very bad I don’t get good service I was very made because so many times no electricity no water the pool doesn’t work I’m not happy .
- Everyone (4/5): - No electricity. No internet and there's no costumer service
- Marie elena (2/5): kemael hotel need to fix all the problems befor - The hotel was horrible because the hotel had no light,WiFi,phone. The a/c wasn’t that great
Hotel.com before you advertise a place or a hotel
They got to check if they stating facts
Plus the shower water at that hotel was salty .kemael hotel not good for tourists
- Ruben (10/5): - Always enjoy the stay, it’s home, food and the ppl are great
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No air conditioning throughout the day ac comes on late in the evening
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No conditioning for the whole day and you get disturbed for room service early in the morning
- JP (10/5): - Staff was decent. Had a minor issue with a lock out and the hotel director got involved and it worked itself out mutually. Excellent for the price in comparison to the other places in the area which were overpriced and had less amenities.
- Junn (2/5): - Those breakfast i don't even like them same thing every morning
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Before my check out there was no electricity..the staff at the restaurant, they're not professional at all.
- Meme (2/5): - Nothing was impressed me ...no power at the hotel .. they use their generator whenever they feel like it... They do not have a stable running AC or Wi-Fi... They only provide coffee and oatmeal for the breakfast they promise.
- Ethelline (8/5): - Perfect location close to the airport, great food.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - next time please don't turn off the electric system
- Max Harry (8/5): A Cozy Place - Nice hotel... cozy. The staff is friendly. The room is clean always and we'll maintained. .the WI -FI is not good in the room. The breakfast is pretty basic..not too many choices. For the price it is a good hotel...if I have to come back..I will definitely come back there.
- Somoza (10/5): The place to be in Cap-Haïtien - A mixing place .. love it !!!!
- Eze (8/5): - The tv has poor signal , not really a WiFi connections the ppl are quite nice and the place is well secure.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I stayed for 2 nights. They turn off the power from 9:00 until 4:00 pm. Which leaves me with no ac for that whole time
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff is helpful, food is good, beautiful garden, bed comfortable.
No Wi-Fi, no electricity 24/7, not very clean and dated.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I spent 3 days in this hotel it was more than perfect .... I liked the welcome, the kind of staff, the services, the rooms are spacious, the architecture, the garden, the flowers, the food are natural and perfect, all for a small price .... I loved and I advise everyone to go
- Marie (8/5): - That was a very nice hotel acquire anyone to be on it too the breakfast was nice the people was nice and I would love to come back again
- Ruben (8/5): - Had good experience hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. Very friendly. Will be back.
- jack (6/5): - The only issues i have is that they turn off the generator off for at lease 2 hours that's is wrong..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - All great 👍 About it nothing to say bad the people Security all
- Elcapitan (2/5): - Needs better staff and cleaning , pool was not clean at all
- Ernst (4/5): You get what you pay for - If you should arrive late at this hotel, you won't find anyone at the front desk to help you. You have to call the number for the hotel provided by Orbitz to get someone to help.
If you should have a problem in the middle of the night, like a clogged toilet or a leaky ceiling, you can always go spend the night in the hallway because you can't call the front desk. There's no phone in the room and certainly no-one at the front desk.
No power in the morning. If you have a dead battery on your phone, tough luck.
Breakfast is only an hour between 7:30 and 8:30. If you wake up at 8:30, don't expect anything, not even a cup of coofee.
Housekeeping will not only ask you early if you are checking out early, they will actually walk into your room while you are not there. So keep your valuables with you.
You don't need an alarm clock because at about 7 a. m., some of the hotel staff will hang around your room to talk as loud as they can.
If you don't have good tires pray hard while driving through the entrance to the hotel.
The place is nice but they have a long way to go to pleasing their guests.
- jen (4/5): - I do not recommend this restaurant unfortunately doing today you have no electricity you only get it in the morning they take it around 10:30 - 11 AM they give it back around three or 4 PM The food you purchase in the restaurant for lunch is the food from the day before the best advice is if you can go out for food it’s much better and I don’t understand why they have a cat running around the restaurant The breakfast Could be better The only fruit you see every morning is banana.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The breakfast was wonderful both days. The place is clean and the staff always go beyond their role to satisfy the clients. Wonderful place to stay in Haiti.
- wendy (8/5): trying again - the breakfast is free which is great but we had to drink out of little petite coffee cups after 4 sips it was all. i wasn't at a little girls tea party. they didn't have alternative food for breakfast if you don't eat what they provide. For example: i don't eat pancakes, french toast or oatmeal. so they could have had toast or bagels to choose from just a idea for those days. Pumpkin soup on Sunday was delicious I could have eaten that everyday I enjoyed that last time we stayed here also so I couldn't wait for Sunday to arrive just to eat that. Some staff needs to be more friendlier. Thank heavens Customer service improved from last year but still needs to get better and they definitely need to smile more in the restaurant,1 of the maids, and garden service. i don't understand that people in Haiti pay for there water but the garden maintenance guy used so much water washing down the driveway and washing the UN vehicles. which i didn't understand that plus when i went to get a shower then i had no water to get a shower.
- Dalvin (8/5): Nice Place to Stay - This was a great hotel and it was moderately priced. I had to leave my room door open to be able to connect to the WiFi. Internet was decent around the property but not in my room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like theat i did not have to go out for dinner. They have an affordable buffet. The staff is very pleasant. The room was ok. I would go back for another stay.
- Sweet (6/5): Quality of the service not good - It was a nice place. However, the quality of the service was not good. Staff is not friendly and non professional. Food is not quite well prepared specially the meat. Beverage was extremely sweet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice area.. but the owner needs to lights in the streets.
- Jean Daniel (10/5): Not to close to the beach but it’s a nice hotel - My experience was good and I will always choose it’s as my hotel
- Verified traveler (2/5): Hotel close to the Airport - Very bad experience I book my reservation at Expedia when got the Hotel the told no room the sold out I have my confirmation number the manager hotel said no the sold out call expedia no answer after 40 minutes she said ok I need to $20 night that's not right
- Verified traveler (8/5): excellent - very good experience with the hotel staffs, there are very friendly
- M (8/5): - very friendly, located in a quiet environment and near the aiport.
- RR (8/5): - Free breakfast
Good service
Great locaton
Safe environment
- Nouly (2/5): - It was a shame and lack of respect for this owner and staff. I came to this hotel around 8:00 PM, and my reservation was booked three days before. When I got there, they told me my room was given to another person, and they made arrangement on my behalf with a dirty hotel. They didn't present any explanation and apology. I asked not to consider this hotel in your choice.
- J (8/5): Quiet area - They need staff for overnight to receive clients.
Security needs to do patrol to make sure perimeter of the hotel is safe. Specially by the main road.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The hotel is closed to the airport. - I was feeling like living at home, the staff were very pleasant and the security was on point. I highly recommend this hotel, and hope that the owner just picks a hair dryer and a iron boad to make it like a five stars one.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel , closed to the airport and the US emba - There is a perfect relationship between the staff and the guest. Free breakfast, free perfect internet . and it's not expensive
- Rosemond (8/5): My experience at Kemael Hotel.! - I had a great experience and a pleasant stay at the hotel, the staffs are very friendly and easy-going, very attentive to my concerns, as they are very diligent on resolving issuues related to my confort. My overall experience is good, and recommend Kemael Hotel to Future references
- Jerry (2/5): The power will normally go out for a few hour - The power will normally go out for a few hours each day, they have two cats that's always around in the restaurants when you eating, the breakfast is eggs and coffee seriously eggs and coffee. Flies is everywhere, service is beyond poor.
- will (2/5): What you see not what you get - First of all I won’t ever stay in that hotel anymore.why ? They didn’t have shutter to pick me up like they offered in the website ,they sent me a taxi and I have to pay 20 dollars which equivalent to 240 dollars Haitian and website said provide including, 2nd my family not allowed to come see me in my room they had to stay by the restaurant to talk to me ,I had to bring them the goods in the restaurant and people looking at them ,WiFi is not good I had to stay at outside 1 o’clock I. The morning by the entrance to get WiFi and it’s not even showing inside my room , pool wasn’t working and the most thing that make me mad is I work all my life In hotel industry when you request for no cleaning room that’s it , I put myself a paper by the lock when I closed the room door meaning when I open the door I have to see that paper falls down lol when I got back I don’t stay daytime I found the paper in the middle of the room and one of the cleaning lady came to me and said when you left I saw your door was open and I closed it for you lol come on I don’t know what I m missing yet but thanks God I have my passport and documents safe. No phone in the room to call front desk .i have to ask for the WiFi password the second day no one provide it to me. One of the security working at night was arguing with me in front of the management that I can’t pass midnight outside what the heck the hotel I’m paying I have curfew time . Man that was the worst thing in my life .
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location, very secured - the service is terrible, the staff is very moody. The breakfast was like no breakfast. Take it or leave it. No substitutes to pay for. My wife an I had to go to a different hotel with a nice restaurant to buy breakfast. The waiters are not respectful, no hygiene at all. The restaurant really disguise the beauty of the hotel.
- MY Desires Arts (8/5): Really good vibes.. - The staff was helpful and nice. The food was fresh and good. It was an all around good experience..
- MY Desires Arts (8/5): It was nice. I enjoyed it a great deal. - The staff was very nice. We got there late and they were still able to check us in. I appreciate them a lot.
- Sherlie (4/5): - The owner is very nice lady very professional, the staff were very nice, always willing to help except for one that work night shift she is so rude I don’t recalled her name but Lord Amercie she needs to go other than that it’s was a great place to stay, I like the fact that there’s so many police officers from overseas that stay at the hotel it’s make me feel save a little.
- Wesmorlande (8/5): less crime in this areas. I used to like the food - I like the pool. just the breakfast that I didn't happy with it daily.
- wes (8/5): - we need to go over the breakfast. we have only one kind of breakfast. when I fist cone on that hotel, I used to have different kind of food and I pick what I like. My stay this year has only slash of bread and coffee Some people don't drink coffee. hopefully that change on my next stay.
- Doles (8/5): A hidden gem! - For Haiti, this is more than comfortable. From the moment you check-in, which in my case was pretty fast..it appears they had me on the record..you realize this is a welcoming place. The owner...I only assume because she confirmed so...seems to be quite down to earth in talking to you. She made me feel at home. The staff seems to be quite the opposite of what you would expect in Haiti: friendly, courteous and welcoming. All in all this is a place I would gladly return to. I would invite others to look into it so that I would learn of their experience.
- Doles (8/5): A welcoming atmosphere! - I think the moment you checked in you realize this is a welcoming place. I didn't stay long enough to be able to make a more informed analysis, however they seemed truly willing to go at some lengths to accommodate you, which says a lot about the owner.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful - Great as usual. Needs more towels without me asking. Great staff wanted to stay longer. Hotel policy needs to be explained either online or at check in. I was told that I couldn't eat in my room, I travel around the world never heard of such thing. Overhaul great stay
- asim (8/5): - Excellent location, close proximity of two very good markets, giant and bel...
- dallas (10/5): Nice hotel 🏩 very clean - Happy been there nice little outdoor pool restaurant bar very good
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I had a very bad experience, and it was a nightmare.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel was clean and safe. The pool was also clean. The menu was limited but I liked that it was priced in Goude not U.S. dollars so it was very affordable.
- Jonas (8/5): Nice hotel closed to main roads - The very first time, I saw this place on the internet, I enjoyed the tropical view of the hotel and I am saying, I have to try it. My first experience with was excellent. Since then, this pace becomes my preferred one.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Short stay - Experierience was okay staff ok place look good .i was satified.
- Mark (8/5): Quiet, with well maintained garden areas. - I am a business traveller and enjoy coming back to a restful environment where I can report on the day's activities.
This is what I found at the Kameal hotel.
Upon my return to Haiti, I will stay here.
- yves (8/5): Nice place,but the entrance
very nice place - The bar close to early, and breakfast start to late
- Nadege (10/5): Enjoyed the moment - It's was OK
- Verified traveler (2/5): I hope I will never visit this location again - The staff is not friendly they only give a good services to people that they know already there is favoritismo
