- Jacinta (10/5): - Very clean
- Harper (10/5): -
- Michael (8/5): - The worst thing was the location, prostitutes working the block outside and smashed windows on cars parked in the parking lot and around the street, and loud music until 3am, made us feel uncomfortable!! But the service was excellent, property felt secure, and it was a nice room for the money with a decent location.
- Jamar (3/5): Poor -
- Richardson (1/5): Bad -
- Der (8/5): Convenient and cozy - Cozy little place. Convenient to get to. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was functional. Location is conveniently near the bus stops so easy alternatives to getting around town without having to drive. Management was friendly during check in/out. Fridge/freezer is a bit of an old style but works well enough. Kept drinks cool, but did pool with condensation around the drinks (didn't leak from the fridge at least) Good stay for what you pay. Area seems a bit sketch but nothing bad happened during my stay but can make one feel a little nervous. Floor was a bit dirty since my feet got dark with dirt after walking around a bit barefoot.
- Phillip (9/5): Superb -
- Phillip (9/5): Superb -
- Wilbert (1/5): Bad -
- Matt (2/5): unsafe neighborhood - I booked this for an employee who were servicing this area and it was close to the job site. I am not familiar with Oakland so I booked based on reviews. O.M.G. I was embarrassed as well as worried for my employees. They sent pictures of night women, a lot of homelessness and overall sketchy neighborhood. I was worried about the safety of my employees as well as potential break in on the company vehicle. I will never book here again!
- Colliness (10/5): Eco friendly stay - The staff was wonderful and the room was extremely clean.
- Karissa (1/5): I didn’t even stay there because the guy in the front had a horrible attitude and was making racial remarks - The person on nights was rude and he is a racist The night person and that place is a dump
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Javier (2/5): Would not book here again. - Bedding was dirty. Shower and drain didn’t work. Loud neighbors. Got no sleep.
- Gisele (1/5): Terrible and disgusting - Place was so terrible, the lady at the window was giving me issues . She said she couldn't take my card that I needed a debit/credit card which I had and kept showing her. There were alot of prostitutes in front of here and some that even stay in the hotel itself. I'm sorta glad I didn't stay, it looked sketchy and dirty for sure. I ended up going to motel 6 that's the best hotel and I've been going there since I can remember. Everything especially the lady in the front desk, she had a attitude automatically. She was not being helpful at all. I wasn't even able to get my room but yet I was able to book it with the same card I was going to pay for the room with.
- Habtamu (1/5): Bad - Not At all good place the picture and the properties are not the same even
- Geralds (9/5): Superb - Very clean motel for it's location, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the area.
- Melissa (2/5): - Staff was so rude, rooms decent but area sketchy, staff rudeness was worst part.
- Scott (8/5): Very good - It was clean.
- Christina (6/5): - Very nice motel but a sketchy area. We were told to take everything out of our car to avoid possible breakin. Saw 13 hookers in a 3 block area.
- weimin (10/5): - It is oakland
- Kelechi (8/5): - The issue of prostitutes around the perimeter of the hotel is an eye sore. Just terribly dirty and unsettling. Girls walking literally naked on the street aude walks in front of the hotel and entire city blocks around the hotel. Block after block. Unsure if i would like to go back there again. Has recommended family to the hotel abd i was so embarrassed with what they observed
Looks like the city and cops dont care either. The entire boulevard littered wurh prostitutes. Dirty. Gosh
- Verified traveler (8/5): unfortunate challenges of the location - no way of really knowing the eco-standards at the motel - and completely out of their control - the street/corner that the motel is on seems to have become of an active "stroll" for prostitution - so the john traffic - mostly in vehicles - and all the associated noise - carries on very late into the night - sadly - at least for those trying to sleep !
- Philippa (7/5): Good -
- Adonay (10/5): - I like everything
- Andrea (10/5): - The staff there is just amazing! such nice people :)
- Audrey (8/5): Very good - The employees and the showers
- kalpna (10/5): - Stayed here for one night. Comfortable stay and were looked after by the staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good for short stays. - I stay here often. It’s a little Roudy on the weekends. Noise from the street. But most of the time it’s quite and no issues. Room are clean and bed is comfortable. Ac have a fan only mode, drowns out the outside noise at night.
- Labomba (10/5): Great place to stay perfect location and great staff - Very clean room great staff and location. No dislikes.
- Ruth (8/5): Adequate for a one-night stay before a flight out of OAK. - The room was clean. The check-in process went smoothly. The attendant was helpful with where to park our car. Check out was easy in the morning. Secure parking. Hookers on the corners and walking the streets outside the motel.
- Timothy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthias (7/5): Good - Rooms are quite spacious for the price. The bed is comfy too. The neighborhood is pretty sketchy and sadly the shower didn't work properly.
- Tekleberhan (1/5): I would never book in this facility again - Booking in this facility means risking your life. It’s not safe at all . Someone is binging at the door 🚪 almost the whole night
- Janet (6/5): Would my car still be here in the morning? - Friendly staff, nice room but the location was frightening and loud at night. Prostitutes were walking back and forth across the street from the motel. People were yelling on the street. Cars were driving loudly along the street on one side of the motel.
- Anthony (8/5): - Great staff.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Albina (5/5): Hotel is ok, area not - The Lodge is indeed not far from the downtown, and the room was just like on the pictires, and very clean. The area is not safe, very noisy in the night. And all day long prostitutes walk nearby or stand on the intersection, and they are also very noisy in the night.
- Carbajal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wayne (6/5): - Good clean room. Worried about car safety. Very well light car park, we had no issues. Good hotel in poor location.
- Stefani (10/5): Exceptional - Clean neat room. Free parking, fridge and microwave Had to drive through shader parts of town to get there.
- Jackelyn (1/5): Avoid this place. - We received a smoke free room as we requested. The location was so sketchy. The rooms were deceiving from the pictures online. The front desk person was rude and kept threatening to charge our card if we smoked even though I insisted we don’t and that I SPECIFICALLY requested a NON-SMOKING ROOM. For being the Bat Area, I didn’t expect to be judged so coldly/ harshly. One thing is to be informative, another thing is to make assumptions.
- Rosario (2/5): - The hotel was horrible location was scary ,dangerous ,prostitution corner, shooting all night
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erich (8/5): Great hotel in a bad neighborhood. - The facility is well maintained by the owner. Ho's and pimps with REALLY LOUD cars and car stereos trolling the street in front. It didn't seem safe to go outside after the sun went down. Also, aside from a Burger King a block away, there is NOTHING to eat in the area, and no convenience store around.
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Correy (4/5): Disappointing -
- Vernaya (6/5): - Staff was rude, they require a cash deposit as if it's the Marriott. Hoes outside hoein up.
- Marquanto (1/5): Bad -
- Volzka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional - Room was nice and clean
- Ungchheanyrort (7/5): Good -
- Ajie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allen (8/5): Comfortable and convenient - Very convenient place. Its a great value, the bed is very comfortable, nice small table, its quiet enough off of main streets but very close to the freeway. Its an affordable motel, expect affordable motel amenities.
- Ken (9/5): Great room for the price. I would stay there again - The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Not the best part of town
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Javier (10/5): Exceptional - Property has great staff, very friendly. They kept asking us and making sure that everything was okay with our room and our stay. The room was nice, clean, and exactly what we needed for our trip. I would stay here again.
- Ariel (8/5): - Nice motel. Easy to get to SF by public transportation from there.
- Jared (10/5): - The motel room and service was great, the neighborhood not so much but you are in Oakland.
- Clanton (5/5): Passable - Room was well appointed and very clean, bed was comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent. The location is in a seedy part of town and very noisy.
- Murat Altun (10/5): - The receptionist is kind and helpful. The room is super clean with renovated bathroom and sink. The bathroom is the cleanest I have ever seen. But neighborhoods is not safe I can tell. People on the street screaming and very loud
- Christina (8/5): - This was a very clean and comfortable place to stay in an area of Oakland that may not be the most savory. The staff was very nice and we felt safe in the room. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was immaculate.
- Tineal (5/5): Passable -
- Will (10/5): i big mistake meeting GLM - I Met a woman named GLM and we had sex, she was caught sneaking in the dog and I was charged $20.00 extra fo rthe dog ,the staff said it was going to be $40.00 but we settled for $20.00 and the management told me she GLM had to remove the dog form the premises .it was a huge mistake, but the room was great! the pet fee.
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional - Bed a nice
- Jannine M (10/5): Excellent for price - Overall great stay. It’s slightly outside of Chinatown. And about 15 minutes from UCB.
The rooms were surprisingly updated. It was clean and had lots of outlets and good lighting and AC. Wifi was strong.
The only downside is parking is slightly tight, but there were always enough spaces for everyone.
We usually stay here when visiting our relative at Berkeley.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Great staff & price, not a great neighborhood - Staff was super kind, but location leaves a lot to be desired
- Miguel (7/5): Good -
- Isabel (8/5): - This was a nice, short stay. They have all the basics and staff was friendly and helpful. There is also a Ban Mi place right next door! Otherwise the surrounding area is ok.
- Joe (10/5): I’m comfortable here and feel safe. - The rooms are extremely clean through out!! The property is very well maintained and clean! The owners and the manager are very attentive to the needs of its customers and Secuirty is very good ( They take it seriously) I’ve stayed in many hotels in the area over the years and the Continental Hotel is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at! Plenty of good food in the area.
- Tobin (10/5): - Non-smoking room was nice and clean, service was prompt and courteous, and location is convenient.
- Inman (2/5): Very poor -
- Sergii (10/5): - Very good motel! 👍
- Anonymous (10/5): Very nice place to stay to get good rest. - I’ve frequented this lodge several times as a travel nurse. The staff at the front desk were polite and courteous to say the least. I just worked a 17 hour shift and staff made the process quick and easy check in. The beds were very comfortable and sparkly clean. nothing
- Sonja (10/5): - I really enjoyed having the ice machine and also there was a vending machine that I used. I was visiting a family member at the hospital all day and this hotel is right down the street from that hospital. I came a long way to see my family member and I do not own a car. All I had to do is jump on one bus and I was there after a very long day at the hospital all I wanted to do was rest.
- Hazel (6/5): - People arguing outside late night
- Jamaal (8/5): I'll be back - Clean place, great price for area.
- Linda (8/5): - ///////
- Claudia (10/5): - Friendly staff..but very noisy on street late at night!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Street traffic is a little nosey. The room and employees were super!
- Damion (4/5): - You need a credit card not a bank card SMH
- Sarah (10/5): - Nice clean and quiet place
- susan (10/5): - This hotel is excellent with a very reasonable rate. The room has all the amenities you would expect in a 3-star hotel, including a frig, microwave, coffeemaker, and toiletries. There is free parking as well. The only issue is that is on International Blvd which is not the safest street in Oakland. There was a shooting outside at 5 am. As long as you aren't walking around at night, and need a clean, reasonable, well appointed room, I would highly recommend this place.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Unethical requirements for booking - rude hosts - Booked a room for a a friend to stay in for a night, made sure to fill out the credit card authorization so they wouldn't need to show the card at check in. My friend was told they'd need my ID, I assume to verify it matches the name on my credit card, so I sent pictures to them. They then told my friend they would need a picture of my credit card, front and back for their records. The request was unnecessary as all CC data was on the authorization with consent to charge immediately and for all costs. They were rude to my friend completely ruining the gift that was supposed to be the stay. Best Western saved the day and used the same authorization without any fuss. I couldn't believe the audacity of any business to ask for pictures of a credit card. Beyond inconvenient, won't stay here in the future.
- Connie (4/5): - To get checked in you have to buzz through the first door to get to the window with a little hole to slide the key card out. There are 4 signs on the window indicating that the hotel is not responsible for your vehicle or anything left in your vehicle. The area was sketchy. The hotel was a block from a large homeless camp. Sirens sounded all night. Cars raced by the hotel. I heard a guy proposition a hooker. All these noises I could hear from my room. I would never stay here again.
- joseph (8/5): TDY housing - I took a day off and needed to have a replacement worker sent from corporate.
He stayed at the hotel, not me. I chose on reviews, location, price and the restaurant next door.
He did not complain so it must have been adequate.
- Angel (2/5): - It was Bad
- Stephen (2/5): Noise Noise Noise - not coming back - - Long wait for checkin
- Disrespectful staff (front desk)
- Noisy neighborhood
- Very very noisy staff (security guards) shouting from midnight to day break infront of the door
- noisy Ac/heater
+ Room was clean and in good condition
- danielle (2/5): - The worst hotel experience i have ever had. Dirty (picture attached)!!
I was kept all night to druggies blasting music and people coming in and out of their room. I attempted to call the front desk around 3:00am to no answer. I did not feel safe asking them to be quite or even leaving my room after dark.
The staff denied my request to have an extra 15 minutes past check out due to sleeping in as i didn't get to sleep until 5:00am.
The location was convenient due to my boyfriends temporary work site and we had hoped to stay here once a week for the next few weeks but NEVER AGAIN.
- Benny (10/5): Good stay - Great experience no trouble checking in...
- Indigo (6/5): - Nice people. Room was clean, just very old. Sheets had a rip in them, upholstered furniture was grimy, not inviting to sit on. With a few small updates like linens and chairs, this place could be really good.
- Kathleen A (8/5): - Very nice room and amenities
- Verified traveler (10/5): Two thumbs up 👍 - Nice clean place to stay the hotel receptionist guy was very friendly DONT be thrown off about the cash deposit $100 there is a good reason behind that which I totally understand. Overall nice little place to stay.
- Miriam (10/5): Clean - First time at this hotel. Great service. Clean and modern.
- Marco (10/5): - All good place
