- Paola (8/5): - Nice property right near the Vatican Museum. Big, clean rooms with air conditioning! A small elevator came in handy, especially when transporting luggage. Buffet breakfast included, with regular staples: scrambled eggs, fruit, cereal, juices and coffee. Friendly and knowledgeable front desk staff can assist with transfers, restaurant recommendations and tourism suggestions. Customers looking for varied pillow menu or varied shower gel, shampoo and conditioner will need to bring their own. 5 minute walk to the nearest subway stop. Overall, nice hotel near The Vatican.

- Cathy (10/5): Personal Service - Booked based on other reviews. Very clean and fabulous location . The room is spacious enough as many rooms in Rome are tight. The beds are ultra firm and pillows flat as many in Rome. Here’s the difference, Marco and Pierre at the desk which by the way, is operated 24/7, they gave such incredible personal service far above any other hotel we have been in n Rome. They make the difference!!We are touring all day and only sleeping there. The bathroom was recently renovated with a rain head. Bar in the hotel. Would definitely stay again. Can’t say enough about Marco and Pierre. 5 star customer service!!!

Only downside: for two nights in a row from 11:00pm to 2:00am there were kids, fights between rooms and opening and slamming doors. We understand that hotels have different guests and you don’t know if you are going to have that bad luck, but it was terrible… Hope you don’t have the bad luck we did…

- SAMUEL (4/5): Disappointing stay - Except for the location and friendliness at the reception desk, it was a very disappointing experience. The shower was clogged and full of hair residues, room service came at 5:00 pm one day to get the room done, breakfast was very dissapointing and the breakfast room/facilities very unconfortable and outdated. Sadly, I would not reccomend the place.

- Michael Joseph (10/5): - Location, Hotel, Location. What better place to start sighting, Vatican City across the Road, short walk to St Peters. This is my second visit to The Hearth Hotel. It is the care and attention, the friendliness of all the staff that will bring me back again. I'm in a wheelchair, the building is really old and not so easy for the wheelchair. With humour I say the lift chooses its own pace, usually snail paced, but it always got me to the floor. If you want real Italian food- across from the Hotel is a great place with vibrant staff and good food. Thank you all at the Hearth Hotel for making may stay so sucessful. The location was perfect if you are visiting the Vatican and surrounding area. The fact that it was once a monastery was really cool. The room was immaculate and spacious. The place is newly renovated and the rooms where quite lovely. Breakfast was included and charming. Incredible value! Highly recommend.

The breakfast was ok, after 5 days my husband and I got tired of the same thing. Over all I have no complaints, except for the shower door that allows water to wet up the rest of the bathroom, but I noticed this same thing in other hotels outside of the U.S

Hotel staff was very friendly. - I was on the third story and my room had ants when I checked in, that lingered throughout my stay. The shower had black mold in the lower grouting. My bed only had a pair of sheets, no heavier blankets. Areas between furniture were caked with dust and dirt. Meanwhile the cleaning staff tried to clean my room daily. Not sure what they were doing in there other than replacing my towels. Room smaller and less tidy than the pictures implied.

No other amenities really, but we didn't need them. Literally next to the Vatican so we got an awesome view of it, but the windows are basically sound proof, so not noisy. Friendly staff. Restaurants everywhere when you walk outside. Easy 10 minute walk to train station.

Excellent breakfest on the 4th floor is served in the morning for a nice start. Very safe neighborhood to walk even at nighttime. Very comfy bedding with clean sheets were a plus to the stay. Wonder hotel to stay in as long as you are not looking for a veiw from the window.

- Janette (8/5): Clean no frills inc breakfast adjacent to the Vati - This was a simple, no frills hotel in a terrific location immediately adjacent to the Vatican walls. It is close to the Metro but is otherwise a good walk to other major buildings. A Hop on/Hop off bus is recommended if you don't wish to walk. The included breakfast had everything necessary: eggs, fruit, cereal, juice, yogurt, cheese, ham, bread and pastries. A nice gentleman makes a coffee to order. The staff are outstanding. This is a privately owned hotel and one of the family is at the reception desk. WiFi is very good. The building is a former convent so has wide marble stairs as well as an elevator. Lots of restaurants are close by. A jump the queue ticket to the Vatican is recommended, due to the long queues, and there are several tour offices close to the hotel. A private taxi to the airport is €53 which the hotel will call for you. Recommended for a budget hotel in Rome.

- Laura (10/5): Outstanding service! - Service was outstanding! All the front desk personnel is fantastic! The location is very convenient. The metro station is 2 minutes far from the hotel. There are a lot restaurants in the area. The only think that I don’t recommend is the breakfast.. eggs were cold and glasses looked dirty ☹️. Nevertheless, when I’ll go back to Rome, definitely I’ll love to stay there again!

- Lindsay (10/5): friendly, nice - Right around the corner from the Vatican museums, a few blocks from the underground/subway/metro, and around the corner from a great restaurant, the Hearth Hotel is lovely, comfortable, clean and we had a great stay there. I enjoyed the breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Also the staff was sooo nice and very helpful. Right at checkout they gave us a map and showed us where all the sites are and the best way to get there!
- Shaun (8/5): Really Great Frendly, Clean Hotel for Saint Peters - A clean and friendly hotel just a few minutes walk to Saint Peter's. Great breakfast and very friendly staff. The room was immaculately clean and my bed was very comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet with lots of eateries around and a little supermarket around the corner.
- John (6/5): You get what you pay for... - Staying st the Hearth Hotel is very much a trade off. This is a clean, comfortable 3* hotel in a superb location 100m from the entrance from the Vatican Museum and a good walk from most of the major attractions of Rome. It is, however, relatively small, offers few facilities other than good WiFi and a small bar and by dint of the tiled floors can be noisy; neighbours shuffling their furniture about late at night and early in the morning can be intrusive, particularly for light sleepers. The rooms also lack double glazing and so those at the front of the building can suffer from road noise. On the plus side, the rooms are modern, clean, warm with effective air conditioning when you are in need of cooling. The staff are also exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast is basic but acceptable, though if you want decent scrambled eggs be sure to breakfast early!

- Michael (8/5): Nice hotel close to Vatican Museum - Nice hotel. Conveniently located about 500 feet away from the entrance to the Vatican museum. Drawback is that the hotel is 50 feet away from very busy street that runs along the Vatican. Street noise - cars, Vespas, etc., didn't quiet down until midnight or so. If you're alight sleeper this may not be the hotel for you. Otherwise, very nice hotel.

Included breakfast was simple with a nice variety of foods and beverages. Staff were extremely helpful. Nice to have 24-hour front desk. Like most Italian B&B's, the hotel did not have facecloths.

The hotel staff were very helpful and provided some good advice about travel and food. Coffee and bakery was nice at breakfast too. Not a major criticism but a kettle in the room would have been nice (though we didn’t specifically ask for one).

Just around the corner from a little supermarket. With windows closed, good reduction of any neighborhood noise. The guest room doors close very loudly but weren’t too bothersome as we were at the end of a hallway (301). Plentiful breakfast with great variety. Comfortable bed.

The window of my room looked out on the wall of Vatican City. -- needless to say, the think the hotel is in one of the safest locations in Rome. The room was fine and though there was a tv and phone, the word that best describes the room for me is "basic". I think the bed was a double but the bed only had one pillow. Guess I should have been ok with that since it was just me, but I like an extra pillow. The amenities were also very basic. The room was clean.

Safe neighborhood that has lots of restaurants, a grocery, laundramat and ATM. Wifi worked fine, AC was weak. Room was very quiet in spite of any noise outside!

We have never been to Rome and the workers were so helpful in giving information about what to do and how exactly to navigate through Rome. The people who work here really care about their jobs and are sincere if you have any questions. I've stayed at "higher quality " hotels but never have been treated with kindness the receptions have given us. Definitely recommend staying with Hearth Hotel, especially if this is your first visit to a Rome and need help navigating through the city. We will stay here again when we come back to Rome.
- Bobby (8/5): Literally next to the Vatican Wall - Great location to the Vatican if you're looking to do a tour. My wife and I walked the one minute over and got through with our tickets no problem. HH provides a daily, solid breakfast and the room provides simple comforts you need with a nice size bed, air conditioning, safe, refrigerator and sizable bathroom. What really made us appreciate HH was the friendliness of the staff. Every person genuinely struck a conversation with us and wanted to learn more about us. They truly were sociable and polite. - J. (10/5): Great for Vatican visits - Conveniently located at the gates to the Vatican Museums. Short walk to the other Vatican entrance at St. Peter's Square. Reasonably close to the underground station that links to the rest of downtown Rome attractions, eg. Colosseum. Main aim of my visit was to see Vatican rather than Rome and this hotel fit the bill. Rooms are newly renovated and clean. Simple and adequate breakfast provided. Not noisy. Lots of shops nearby for food and drinks. Friendly and helpful staff.
- Kenny (10/5): Great hotel! - Very friendly and helpful staff! The room was terrific! We were able to upgrade to a room with a balcony for not much money. The view was not great, but certainly worth it. The location was great. Across the street from the Vatican. Great restaurants near by. Very close to Ottaviano train stop. Great breakfast in the morning too.
- RANDALL (6/5): Down the drain. - Shower drain wouldn't drain. Repairman came by and said he couldn't fix. Hotel staff said they could place us in another room. Management didn't offer and discount or refund due to the condition.

The hotel was quiet, had good security, and offered a complimentary breakfast. The employees were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Would definitely recommend

- Verified traveler (2/5): A real night mare - I do not recommend the Hearth Hotel to anyone but my enemies. The Hotel was dirty and the service was terrible. The room drapery was dirty and old. The bathroom was as smaller as the bathroom of a cruise ship. The toilet was dirty from the beginning and mold moisture all over the shower. A total disaster for 6 days of stay..... At $168.00 a night. PLEASE, stay away from this Hotel in Rome.
