The food was of a good standard The property was tierd and requires renovation in areas. Could be a really lovely place. I felt it required a deeper clean within he room I stayed. Staiwell leading to Hague rooms requires attention. Not a great first impression. The area to eat evening meal is way to small
Diane (6/5): Great for quiet get away. - Beautiful peaceful grounds and quiet location. Hotel has an interesting history and cosy feel. Food is trying hard but lacks finish. Food service was lacking in some areas No serviettes and missing cutlery Fish finger sandwich needs a rethink as it is mostly bread and batter. Some lighting not working in the room.
David (8/5): We'll be back - Setting, the slightly work in progress nature of the ongoing renovation work. The trade union ties. The diverse team. The gardens. Food was great Rooms were great. Will definitely be our future base in the area when visiting family and the beautiful countryside of the Peaks. The bar closed early the second evening as it had been quiet (perhaps because we weren't there 8D).

Sallows (6/5): Not worth the cost, location is beautiful but facilities are basic and there is much room for improvement. - Beautiful properly in a very beautiful location. Room was compact but clean and comfortable to stay in. Fresh bedding and towels. I didn’t use the dining room facilities so I can’t comment on the food. Terrible wifi and even worse heating system. Room was actually freezing at one point. I did a bit of research as I wondered why they were charging me way more for slightly different dates. Turns out they massively increase the room prices when they have a wedding on (as there was a wedding the first night I stayed). Which I think is done in bad taste, especially for someone not actually attending the wedding, I was just in the area for work. I was in a room way out from the main area so I couldn’t hear the wedding itself, but children and people were traipsing past constantly making it hard to rest, literally running circles for fun. Unless you’re going for a wedding I wouldn’t recommend just as a visitor in the area as I was given zero attention during my stay here. No information about wifi, food menus or areas in the hall to have a drink etc. I also had to find my own way to my room which took a fair bit of time considering the distance from reception, and the very vague directions.
Elidh (4/5): Beautiful place, amazing history, comfy rooms, distant staff, but competent when found! - Location , vies and history Lack of care and attention, old notices still up, old menus in the room folders, a decoration from 2 Christmases ago in the dust covered logs on the fire place in the bleak dining* room. Staff would appear after a few minutes as if we had just imagined their absence.

Allan (5/5): Amazing place BUT do make sure you don’t book while there is a wedding or event - Location, staff and the hall were great . The room was basic but clean and tidy with everything we needed. BUT the room they gave us was right over a wedding reception! The whole room was vibrating with noise for hours until midnight it really tainted the experience of a peaceful getaway. A room over the wedding venue it was loud, noisy and we couldn’t sleep. The experience of peace and quiet was shattered having to listen to music and drunk people.

Joseph (1/5): Would not stay again. Staff were uninterested in my complaint. - It’s in a nice place No heating in the bathroom. Only a towel rail and that didn’t work. The bathroom only hand single pane glass. It was as cold in the bathroom as outside. Heating in the room was turned off until I went into the room. It didn’t heat up properly until the middle of the night this was contested by the breeze from the inch wide gap under the door. Room was over the kitchen and there were beer kegs and bottles being emptied until midnight. At 06:00 the prep for breakfast started. Zero noise insulation in rooms. There was a bottle of beer on the mantle next to reception when I checked in Saturday afternoon. It was still There when I checked out Sunday morning. This sums up the lack of detail this hotel pays to anything.

Daniel (3/5): Setting is nice, hotel is dated and in need of major repairs. - The entrance to the property and the private grounds are lovely. Upon arrival at 8:30pm asked for food as they served until 9pm, they had shut the kitchen so no options of food. Asked to get a drink from the bar, that had also been closed, so no options of food or drink. Walking up to the room there were buckets of water catching it from a leaking roof, dehumidifiers in the corridor and wet carpets due to a leaking roof again. The room was average, bathroom was ok, ceiling had damp patches and unpainted areas and wallpaper peeling off. The bed was ok and other than that the room was fairly clean.

Guy (8/5): Friendly staff, lovely location in the middle of the countryside - The helpful and friendly staff, the beautiful location and grand exterior of the hotel are all very impressive. The room although small was clean and comfortable, the food in the bar area tasty and well cooked. with minimal wait time. It not a case of did not like anything, but rather awareness that this is an older hotel that was formerly a stately home. it now a bit tired in places and in need of renovation. But its clean, warm, comfortable with friendly and helpful staff

Sophie (7/5): Great breakfast and staff, quite noisy near the event space - The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was enjoyable and good value for money. I found the room quite cold. I was staying during winter and I know it is an old building, so I think having extra blankets available would have been helpful. Additionally, my room was close to the event space and the music was very loud until after midnight - appreciate it is an events space, but it wasn't a restful night as a result.

Olivia (2/5): Noisy and old fashioned rooms. - The grounds were beautiful, lovely views and gardens well kept. Room was clean. When you book they say there may be a wedding on. What they didn’t say was that our room would be situated directly above the wedding disco. Music went on until after midnight. Rooms were very old fashioned, toiletries very basic. It was a hot day and no fan in the room and windows painted shut so could only open a small amount. View from bedroom window was bins and smoking area from wedding guests. Totally understand this is a wedding venue but more care should be taken to locate non-wedding guests in an appropriate room that won’t experience such noise. Both my husband and I got hardly any sleep and it was a very uncomfortable stay.

My room was very small. The shower cubicle has to be the smallest and the shower head needed a good clean.. Also it was a little cold at night
Leigh (6/5): Potential to be a great place, but it was a mish mash of decor/themes and standards. - I was able to park my car right outside the door. Tables in the breakfast room were beautifully laid. Modern fixtures in bathroom (shower/taps/sinks). Surrounding gardens were exquisite. Lovely biscuits in the bedroom, these were replaced on the second night stay. Lovely toiletries/products. Bed was clean and very comfortable. I was allocated a family room, which contained 3 beds (i was travelling alone). Bedroom window looked out onto a brick wall, despite building being set in lovely grounds and paying full cost for room. There was no mirror in the bedroom, so I was unable to style my hair with ease. Quality of coffee was poor/weak (I had asked for a filter coffee). Continental items for breakfast were located in one room and the cooked breakfast/buffet was in another room - could be set up more efficiently. Breakfast was £20 and not value for money; limited choices for what it cost. Room/building was cold. Couldnt lock the bedroom door from the inside. Evening meal was disappointing and not value for money.
Lynda (1/5): I would not recommend staying at Worley Hall, it was a big disappointment and definitely not worth the amount we paid fo - Nothing The room was beyond substandard, it was freezing cold, below basic with mould in the bathroom which wasn’t cleaned during our stay. Only fan heaters to warm the room, old wooden shutters to the window that wouldn’t shut properly letting the cold in and flaking paint around the windows. The bed had no bedhead and grubby sheets and quilt cover which had a hair on it. The whole place was freezing cold including the breakfast room, the luke warm breakfast items were left under the lamps to go rubbery and not changed or replaced. Certainly not worth the £60 we paid for two breakfasts on each of our two night stay. The whole place was a big disappointment and in need of a total refurbishment. I commented on the state of the room took reception and she said she would pass it on the the Manager but we never heard anything back from him. It was a shame because we were there for wedding between Christmas and NewYear and the state of the room took the shine away from the lovely wedding we were attending.

Ngharrop (7/5): A lot good, a bit not so good! - Pleasant staff, size of room, breakfast quality and quantity. Plenty of hot water and the room was nice and warm even if the outside weather was cold and wet. General building was tired and in need of basic maintenance to help put the small issues right before they became a much bigger problem. For example: Our en-suite toilet wouldn't flush and all it needed was the adjustment of a link in the cistern. In many areas of the hotel there was smell of damp but there was no obvious signs of water ingress. This was reported to reception and the flush issue was passed to the right team while we were at the desk. This wouldn't stop us from coming back to stay in the future.

Lawson (5/5): Not a great stay but a stunning location shame really - The setting was amazing the outside of the building is stunning the bed was comfortable the lady on reception was amazing The first room we was given had not been cleaned since last guest bed was still in a used condition cuos full of other people's drink etc etc . The 2nd room was better but the bed had all bits if flaky buts falling of it the shower had mould. Not in line with the amazing look of the property . The main carpet on amin stair was solved through due to leaks in roof above. There was a Ln event in which didn't bother us but 15 kids running ruit outside our window in the fare jumping in all the lovely bushes did bother us. The TV don't work great . The bathrooms need updating the shower leaked and so tiny .

We had one small issue with dinner on one evening, but to be fair, the manager who listened to our complaint was top class and handled it very well.

Comfortable beds though. Wonderful location, views and walks around. Nice local pub too Upstairs and bedrooms quite shabby and in need of redecoration. Our bathroom window was stuck about four inches open at the top on a very cold winters night. No food available because there was a big function on, despite information on the website about delicious bar meals. Disappointing no one forewarned us.
Helen (4/5): Tired venue that was poor value for money. - Location The hotel had a tired feel and the room was located in an area that felt in a non public in need of upgrading and renovation. The room was very small and the bathroom barely accessible. The handbasin obstructed access to the toilet and it was not possible to close the bathroom door and dry yourself at the same time. Sound insulation was very poor and it was into the wee small hours before it was quiet enough to sleep. Parking was limited. Despite being a hotel guest I had to park some considerable distance from the hotel up a dark lane. It was expensive and not an overly pleasant experience.

We had a pre arranged afternoon tea courtesy of a voucher, we did not dine in the evening or take breakfast so cannot comment. Fantastic building but very tired in parts - I'm assuming a work in progress. The room we were allocated was clean and comfortable, the en-suite had obviously been up graded/re modelled but it was little things, like no where to plug a shaver in or toothbrush charger and in the shower no soap holder, only small things but they do make a difference.

Large gardens and grounds to explore there’s always something in flower. I watched wildlife from the haha type boundary walls and popped into the apple festival being held in the walled garden (a separate organisation). Good food and service in the cafe bar, great breakfasts (an extra cost). All the staff very helpful and friendly. Good parking. It was low season and felt like a ghost ship at times but felt privileged to explore. Also we joined the art class held in the hotel good to have extras like that (book separately). The village is small but excellent little deli shop, a post office, a foody pub and a separate friendly old working men’s type club. Overall, a good base for exploring the area or a nice haven to have a countryside break. The only real issue was the rooms we had overlooked the back courtyard which involved the loud industrial sounds of deliveries and suchlike (reminiscent of a coal yard or woodmill) before 6 am. We had booked a bargain short break unfortunately the Sunday lunches were sold out (luckily the village pub did fab Sunday lunches) and restaurant was closed part of our stay. The hotel made several attempts to tell us beforehand so that we could make the alternative arrangements. As it was low season staff could occasionally vanish so you have to get a knack for timing meal and beverage requests etc amusingly some of the guests seemed to help out in those moments gave it a very old British comedy vibe.

siobhan (5/5): - The communication, this was definitely not the best. Was given the wrong hotel room key so was all settled to then go back to the room and find someone else in there.
