- Kenneth (10/5): - This is a spectacular B&B because the rooms are wonderfully furnished with all the comforts of home. It is in a quiet neighborhood with gorgeous yards, especially this one, with lots of birds. Donna Lee and Matt are the most friendly, helpful hosts you will ever meet and so much fun to chat with. Easy drive into Niagara Falls Ontario, plenty of good restaurants close by. A+ experience.
- Cathryn (10/5): Wonderful B&B in NOTL! - Beautiful home. My room was great. Location was very convenient to downtown shops and restaurants. My hosts, Matt and Donna, were very gracious and gave me very good suggestions on places to visit during my stay.
- Joanne (10/5): I would highly recommend this B&B in the quiet section of Niagara on the Lake. - The property was located on a quiet side street with a very friendly, helpful, host and nice neighbours. Our host went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. She answered any questions about the area. There was even special touches like homemade cookies for us to enjoy. No complaints at all.
- Martin (10/5): Excellent. The hosts have thought of every comfort for their guests. - Location was peaceful and beautiful.
Attention to detail in guest suite exceptional. Really comfortable bed.
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts were wonderful & accommodating and the location is great! Na
- HEATHER (10/5): - The property was absolutely gorgeous The owner was amazing and thought of everything and it was just so quiet. I think I would just go there for the quiet.!!! the area is so lovely. I highly highly recommend this property.
- ELENA (10/5): - Great time and super nice place to stay
- Amanda (10/5): - Nice hosts & beautiful room! We will come back again and again!
- Sharon (10/5): - The property was well appointed and very comfortable. Finding accommodations for 3 people can be challenging but the suite had a separate living room with a day bed which was perfect for us. Matt and Donna-Lea were great hosts.
- Ronald (10/5): Excellent - Lovely accommodation - excellent breakfast
- John W. (10/5): - Central location between Oldtown, wineries, & parks. 5-10 minute car ride to most activities around town or slightly longer walk. Tucked out of way in a neighborhood. Owner/staff friendly & attentive. Clean.
- Jim (9/5): Superb -
- Adele (10/5): This is a lovely B&B for any length of getaway. It will meet and probably exceed your expectations. - So very clean and fresh. My suite was quite luxurious. The house itself is lovely and very well maintained. The owner Donna Lee is welcoming and down to earth. The offsite breakfast at the Golf course offered a nice variety. My suite was well stocked with teas, and all appropriate condiments. I was consulted previously as to my choice of milk. The linens and profusion of towels were spotless. The many personal touches were endearing. It was a short 20 minute walk to town. There is nothing negative that I have to offer. I was completely satisfied.
- Patrick (8/5): - 20 minute walk to main shopping/theatre area
Breakfast is off site nearby with standard fare
Comfortable bed with plenty of space in room
Rugs throughout
Continuous air conditioning keeps room cool but noise is unavoidable
Solicitous proprietors
- robert (10/5): - Beautiful property. The hosts were helpful in finding places we should see. The breakfast was at a golf course right on the water. The town was close enough to walk to.
- Nancy (10/5): - I liked the information sheet that was sent to us before we arrived so we knew the codes and what to expect.
Everything one could ever need was provided down to having the coffee already to brew in the morning so all I had to do was push a button.
The towels were lovely and there were places to hang them when wet. The shower was good and strong.
Our rooms were light and bright in the day. The blackout curtains were wonderful for sleeping.
The price was reasonable and worth every penny unlike much of the accomodations in NOTL.
All in all it was a very pleasant experience
- Marc (10/5): - Enourmous rooms, separate private salon to the bedroom, fridge, coffee machine, TV with Roku chanels, welcoming ang engaging owner.
- Paula (8/5): - My room was lovely, and the owners Matt and Donna Lee very pleasant.
The breakfast is available a short walk from the house at a restaurant, which was pretty good.
My only negative comment is the price seems high ($750 for 2 nights) for just a room and breakfast and no other amenities..but I suppose it is Niagara on the lake and prices are high.
- William (10/5): - This was a really nice place to stay for a couple of days. The hostess was charming and her gardens are amazing! Nice room and extras. Bathroom was full of amenities. We would stay here again!
- Marilyn (9/5): We enjoyed the spacious well appointed suite. - Good location
Spacious
No noise in house or surrounding area Everything was great no complaints
- Don (10/5): - We enjoyed talking with the owners, friendly and engaging
- Elaine (10/5): - Donna was extremely personable. She and Matt thought of every possible amenity for the room. It was so comfortable and beautifully appointed. I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back!
- Joan (8/5): Great accomodations close to downtown Niagra on the Lake - The Suite was well appointed and very comfortable. The hostess provided alot of good info about the area. The neighborhood was close to downtown but parking downtown somewhat difficult. Would have preferred a Kurig coffee maker. Making a whole pot for one cup and then cleaning the pot was not practical. The 2 breakfasts at the Pub/Grill were not very good. The breakfast at the Golf Club was good but the service was very slow. The accomodations are very good, but it does not provide a real B&B experience.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Nice place - The room was very clean and quiet other than the A/C and fans which I know for some people is white noise, so still not bad. The one odd thing was that there was a glass block large window between the entryway and the unit, so when the entryway light was on at night, there was essentially a light on in your bedroom. My recommendation to the owners is to put a curtain in front of that for light sleepers like me so the bedroom can be darker. Also, the small mattress was rock hard.
The best part was the location because it’s on a very quiet street just close enough to town that it’s a nice walk but just far enough away that it’s quiet.
- ALLAN (4/5): Mr - I was very disappointed with my stay at this location. I found the room lacking in charm and warmth somewhat like a Hotel 8 but 3 times the price. The furniture, most of which was jam packed into a small room was’kitchy’and of poor quality. The worst
Part of the experience was my dealings with the surly and rude hosts one of whom was most indignant when I had the temerity to ask a question of her at 8am when she claimed she was sleeping. Her partner swore at me and threatened to physically remove me from my room at 10:01 as I was preparing to leave. Definitely the worst travel experience I have ever had.
- Redak (10/5): Perfect stay - Everything
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tina (10/5): - It was right beside a ravine and very quiet. The room was very clean and accessible
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (10/5): - The hosts were very welcoming. Easy parking and clear instructions. Lots of ideas of wineries and restaurants were provided. We were in one of the up-stair suites, it had every convenience, was very clean and comfortable with lots of room. Walking to town center was flat, very pleasant and took about 20 mins. Location is quiet and safe.
- Alix (10/5): - The hosts were very nice and sweet, made you feel like you were at home.
- Susan (10/5): Fabulous! - Location was excellent.
The rooms were large and very comfortable.
Lovely hosts.
- Eileen (10/5): Wonderful stay! - Wonderful suite that was perfect for our visit to Niagara on the lake. 2 beautiful rooms. Coffee/tea/water and a mini-fridge. Easy door coded check in. Close to everything. Easy parking.
- Thomas (10/5): - Donna looked after us fantastically well and provided great recommendations for places to walk and visit. Everything that could be provided for comfort and convenience was there, and more beyond (Earl Grey tea bags and fresh milk a great hit for us!)
Extremely comfortable with lovely furnishings and jacuzzi bath. Would not hesitate to recommend very highly - best place we have stayed on our trip by far.
- James (10/5): Top Notch B&B - This was the nicest B&B I've stayed in. The hosts were very kind and the room was tastefully decorated. Everything functioned as intended. Already booking our next visit
- Janet (10/5): - The owners were very welcoming and the property is comfortable and cozy. Breakfast is offsite but it was at a lovely location with good food and service. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay at Butler Creek again.
- Anthony John (10/5): - Our hosts keep the property in excellent condition and were very welcoming and organized. A very comfortable stay and would highly recommend it.
- Marilyn (10/5): - Lovely room and property. Great location.
- JOHN (10/5): Fantastic - Lovely rooms in fantastic house.Very friendly and welcoming hosts.Breakfast in golf club excellent.
Overall a great stay would highly recommend to anyone.
- Margie (10/5): Fabulous place to stay. - Room was wonderful. Donna Lee had all the extras we could ever need. Quiet location and easy walking to the city center
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (10/5): - Very nice
- Frank (10/5): - Best B&B ever. Very organized, clean, neat. Everything you could want.
- Jeff (10/5): - The breakfast coupon to the Golf Course on Lake Ontario was simply wonderful.
The rooms were great and everything we could need was provided by the host and hostess. The parking was super and the location with respect to Niagara on the Lake and Niagara Falls Ontario and the Château des Charmes winery was great.
- Odeta (1/5): Bad - We booked this place for $387 for one night because it said up to three people. When we arrived, the owner charged us an extra $101 for the extra person which we found ridiculous given that the one of us slept in day bed which was very uncomfortable. The location was 25 minutes walk from the main strip. Breakfast was not on the location but 25 minutes away. The house was old and outdated. So basically we paid $500 for one night which is more than 2 nights at the Spanish steps location in Rome. Ridiculous. We found that the owner is money hungry and was not willing to meet us in the middle. Very poor customer service. Will not be back and do not recommend it.
- Shahrzad (1/5): Bad - The place itself is spotless clean and very beautifully decorated. My mom and I liked the place mainly the decorations but I guess I won't stay at a home next time if I have to spend the same amount of money as there are so many rules to be followed which is understandable. Both my mom and I were very respectful of the rules. We kept very quiet and had no issues. I'm only giving it 1 star because of the horrible interaction I had right at checkout. All my bags were packed and I was ready to leave at 11:00 which is the check out time. I arrived at 11:08 and I would have checked out within 2 minutes but they had already entered the room without calling me. I don't know what time they had entered the room but my guess is at sharp 11:00. The morning of the check out, the lady said we had opened the window where it says you shouldn't have and she pointed to the sign which was in the entrance hallway. I apologized and told her I had not noticed the sign (If I had, I would not have opened the window) she said that I cost her a lot of money. I think customer service and giving someone the benefit of the doubt instead of treating them the way she did would have been a better approach. And a little suggestion, give your guests at least 15 minutes past check out before you enter their room. And maybe give them a call before doing so! Emergencies happen.
- Trudy (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was good. The location was close by to the B&B.
Everything about our stay was perfect. The owner’s attention to every little detail, was exceptional! We will definitely be coming back to this B&B, on our next visit to Niagra On The Lake!!
- Brian (10/5): Will be back! - Great home with attention to details, we had all amenities required for our 3 day stay. Owners were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast at golf course was top notch. Nothing, they nailed it for us!
- Christopher (10/5): - We love the rooms… which are really more like a suite. The location is great. We booked Zoom bikes about 300 yards away and then cycled everywhere.
- Erinn (10/5): - amazing stay at Butler Creek House over this past weekend! we loved the hospitality from Donna Lee and Matt. quick 25 minute walk to town for everything you need! will definitely be staying here again when in the area :)
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alina (10/5): - My 2 friends and I had a wonderful stay at this property. The Hosts thought of every detail and made us feel right at home.
The breakfast at the golf course was amazing and we really enjoyed being so close to everything (20 min walk to old town or a 5 min drive). If you stay here, you must try Ruffino's (It is a restaurant that is a 5 min walk away and it is amazing Italian food). There is also a lovely bakery/cafe only a 3 min walk away.
Great location. Great Stay. We will book again in the furture. I have stayed at a few BnB's in Niagara on the lake and this was one of the best.
P.s - We did a "grape escapes" tour and it picked us up and dropped us off right from the house. We did the 3 winery visits with dinner included package. AMAZING.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Robin (10/5): - A beautiful property with lovely rooms. Coffee, tea, milk or cream ,ice, and water provided with a good size refrigerator. The breakfast at the golf club was very good with great views of the Lake Ontario. Just a 5 minute ride away. The proprietor gave us suggestions of things to do. (We went to a small farmers market that was suggested and I bought honey and jam there. Also in the same shopping area is a good gift store. We also went to a winery that had a coupon in the gift bag in the room that was great. Bella Terra vineyards. it's a smaller winery, family owned and a nice place. Highly recommend!
- Martin (10/5): - A great B&B - excelllent hosts. The suite was super spacious - hard to find this kind of value elsewhere. We particularly liked breakfast at the historic Golf Club with a window view across the Niagara River to Old Fort Niagara. We would recommend this stay to anyone.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- derek (10/5): A great place to stay at!!! - The host was amazing and very friendly. The butler house is very clean and nice, I highly recommend to stay at the butler house. Couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay.
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rae (10/5): Beautiful B&B - The Butler Creek house more than met our expectations! It is under new ownership and they thought of everything down to having bottles of water near the beds. We absolutely loved it. Only downfall is last time we stayed here we were allowed access to the hot tub and that is no longer available. It’s understandable just a little disappointing.
- Maureen (10/5): Fantastic room. Great location. - Great location. Lovely room with everything you could expect and more. Second time back here and already looking forward to our next stay. N/A
- Andrea (10/5): - It was perfect for our weekend getaway.
- Anonymous (10/5): fantastic! clean, comfortable, would definitely recommend - Donna and Matt where amazing and it was a very clean and comfortable spot I really enjoyed everything, the location was a little bit further to Queen street than I expected
- William (10/5): Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very informative -
- Ronald (10/5): - We’ll maintain property, clean, quiet location, friendly personable owner.
- Ken (8/5): We enjoyed our stay very much & would stay again - The breakfast was excellent but it was off site & not easily walkable..the room was clean & well stocked..
The hosts were helpful & available..also the property was beautiful We would have preferred breakfast on site and would have preferred sealed bottled water
- Mauro (10/5): A tranquil home feeling with a touch of warm hospitality. Matt and Donna-Lee made us feel like old friends. - Close to vineyards, part of the old town, and eateries nearby. free private parking, and safe quiet location. N/A
- Priyanka (10/5): Fantastic time! - The hosts are so welcoming and warm! We felt right at home. The rooms are super comfy and equipped with everything a traveler might need. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we'd love to make a return trip :)
- Terry (10/5): This is a place we would go to again and recommend to our friends. - Beautifully decorated, very clean and close to everything we wanted to do. Hosts couldn’t have been nicer. Loved the balcony, extra bonus! Everything was fine, just wished it had a king size bed. That’s what we are used to sleeping in, but no big deal.
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful room with lots of character, friendly host, nice location The bed was really firm
- Vreni (10/5): - It is a beautiful home on a quiet street and the owners gave us a warm welcome. We can only say good things about this home and would recommend it to anybody easy.
The accommodation is excellent and very comfortable including the amenities. We had a voucher for an enjoyable Breakfast at the Golf Club close by. We are looking forward to revisit one day soon again.
Vreni & John
- Ian (9/5): Superb - The facilties were excellent Nothing
- sammy (10/5): - We enjoyed the visit to Butler Creek House. The accomodations were good and the hospitality there was top notch. Donna and Matt went out of their way to make us feel welcome and give us leads on restaurants and attractions.
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional - Two extra sitting rooms to gather our group. Well stocked extras, glasses, plates, flatware, napkins, towels, etc., frig, televisions, Decor was beautiful.
- Agnes (10/5): Classy, comfortable B&B - Our suite was very tastefully and comfortably appointed, and there was lots of room to stretch out during our extended stay. We loved the gardens behind the house. Our hosts went above and beyond in terms of thoughtful touches (fridge filled with cold water, pizzette on arrival, coffee and tea in our room) and gave us helpful advice about where to eat and what to see. Breakfast is served at a nearby golf course. It is very filling--it ended up being our lunch for the day--and there are many choices, all good. The quiet neighborhood was an excellent place for a relaxing stay (downtown is less than 10 minutes away, if you're looking for more excitement). Nothing! It was a perfect stay.
- David (10/5): The owners were very friendly, the rom was perfect, the stay was perfect. - Terrific. It was at the Golf Club. We loved the food , the view and the service. ZERO
- Shay (9/5): Superb -
- Tyler (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): - Matt and Donna Less were awesome hosts, if you get a chance to stay here, take it. Far outshines other corporate options in NOTL.
- Jasna (10/5): - We have spent 2 very nice days in Butler Creek House. The accomodation is above exceptional, the hosts are perfect. Quiet and secluded place, but still in a walkable distance to downtown NOTL. We loved every minute of our stay.
- Sylvia (10/5): - The hosts Donna Lee and Matt made us feel so welcome. They thought of everything. They communicated with us almost immediately after we completed our reservation. Our room was lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the location was convenient and quiet. The Sand Trap Pub, where we ate our dinners, was a 5 minute walk away. The food there was delicious and the service amazing.
Breakfast at the Niagara on the Lake Golf Club was excellent.
If we come back to Niagara on the Lake, we definitely will go back to The Butler Creek B & B.
- Cathy (10/5): - Hosts were very accommodating. Very comfortable and clean. Lovely neighbourhood and very short drive to wineries, dining and shopping.
