- E6688AHkimh (10/5): Amazing Hotel - We stayed at the Residence Inn Fairlawn twice in March. We found the service outstanding. On our second visit, the front desk staff welcomed us back and remembered us. The room was very clean. The bed was so comfortable. Nice thick towels. The breakfast was wonderful every morning. It was not the usual hotel breakfast. The breakfast team provided a great variety. Belgium waffles, frittatas, croissant breakfast sandwiches. One morning awesome potatoes too. Too much great food to mention. We met the General Manager, Tamala. We complimented her on her awesome team. Every employee we encountered always had a friendly greeting! The staff felt like family. Our second stay was 5 nights. My husband had surgery close by and I was alone 2 of the nights. The staff was so supportive, like family! Always asking how my husband was doing in the hospital. The customer service was like a 5 star Caribbean resort!
- Nina (7/5): Rooms were comfortable; breakfast good - facilities not what we were hoping for. - The breakfast was very good. We enjoyed the variety. Taste and temperature of the food and coffee was good. The room was clean and comfortable. The microwave door wouldn't open due to improper installation, but that wasn't a big deal, as we seldom used it. We reserved this facility partially because of the indoor pool. When we arrived, we found the pool was out of order, and it remained so for the duration of our stay. The General Manager agreed to discount our rooms as a result, but she only did so for the first day of the stay. We were traveling for a funeral, and my grandchildren were giving up their spring break, so we wanted them to at least have the pool for enjoyment. Also, the HVAC system in our room was loud and inefficient. There was a peculiar smell unless we left the fan running continuously.

- jodysH8975CS (10/5): Amazing hotel. Amazing people - Top notch customer service by everyone!!! After a very long day of travel I was over the moon happy with my choice to stay here. I'll be honest I pay attention to things and just like most I expect good customer service. This hotel doesn't have good customer service, it's EXCEPTIONAL!! The rooms are clean and comfortable. I loved the complimentary breakfast. Lots of option. Even my picky boys were satisfied and trust me thats a hard thing to do. I love the little kitchen that is stocked with everything you need. The hotel is quiet and easy to get to and easy to get back onto the highway to continue our drive. The bed is very comfortable and I got a much need great night of sleep. Thank you for everything and thank you for caring about us and why we are traveling. They truely care about each guest and why they are traveling. If you have the chance you need to stay here. You won't be sorry. The one thing I am sorry for is that I didn't get the names of the staff. The gentleman who checked me in was beyond sweet. The lady at the desk this morning has such a warm genuine smile. Thank you thank you thank you

I stayed there as they kept my husband overnight Everyone was so helpful and every morning and evening they would ask me how he was doing. Very friendly and helpful.

I was pretty sure I clicked on the choice to have our room cleaned every two days. We were there six and it was not cleaned while we were there. There was someone who offered clean towels, thank goodness.
- phiNole (8/5): Minimalist and clean, needs a better fitness center - The Residence Inn isn't something I normally view as a hotel, rather an apartment with a staff. This one was no different. The location is perfect for this part of Akron, right across the street from the neighborhood of our family's home we visited, and less than a minute to the interstate. The property seems to have undergone some renovations/updates recently, and while Residence Inn is not more than minimalist, it's clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy. This location offers an indoor pool and fitness center (more on that later), and with only 4 floors, it's not huge, so breakfast, pool and gym crowds won't be huge either. When traveling with children, I suggest upgrading to the 2BD where each bedroom gets its own bathroom, separated by the living room/kitchen. I like this design because you can have your own space like you might at home. There is plenty of room in this setup. Regarding the fitness center - this is the area where I feel Residence, Springhill, and the other similar properties could do so much better. Just a few treadmills and dumbbells is below standard these days, especially for Marriott properties. There is enough space in the fitness center to add a pull-up/cable station and even some kettlebells. The staff at this property is so nice, from front desk to maintenance, all the way into the kitchen as well. Overall, it's a great place to stay for this area of Akron.

- avidtraveler1976 (10/5): Excellent Property for a Business Trip! - It was tough finding a place to stay on our business trip and this Residence Inn was surprisingly excellent!! Spotless, great staff, room was really nice, clean, great bed and about a 2 minute drive to many restaurants.

Spiders in corners of rooms in cobwebs obviously weeks old. Staff wasn’t great upon check in and demanded to see the receipt from hotels.com. In the 500+ nights in the last 5 years booked from hotels.com I’ve never once been asked for proof of a receipt from anywhere in the County. Pool was dirty. Only redeeming thing here was the breakfast was decent and the gal who ran it obviously had pride in what she was doing.

I was never moved into another room. The next morning, they c-‘e to fix the tv and acted as if nothing ever happened. It was the holiday and I also had the family with me so it was overwhelming that night with no other television.

Loved the kitchen, but didn't get a chance to use the stove. Breakfast was better than expected. Coffee was good! If we stay in the area again to celebrate our anniversary. I'm definitely staying here. Didn't hear other guests which made for a great night sleep.

Hard boiled would have beeb great! Only guests allowed in pool. While I can understand that, as a single traveler it would have been nice to have my local friend join me for a swim.

- Eric60914 (10/5): Two Night National Park Trip - Stayed here for two nights as part of a trip to Cuyahoga Valley National Park (about 15 minutes away). The hotel is close to the Interstate and countless restaurants, stores, etc. Our king studio suite was located on the 4th floor and had your standard Residence Inn layout. Unfortunately, the room was dated and in need of a touch-up with colors, furniture, carpeting, etc. Aside from this the room was clean and we really enjoy having the kitchen features. The daily breakfast provided new items each morning and the staff in the breakfast area was very kind and helpful. In addition, the GM was very friendly when we briefly spoke to him the lobby. The pool area and outdoor seating area were also nice.
