Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): Don’t book online, book at the hotel - Window in shower wasn’t covered. Website price was 4x the price they had posted in the lobby, kind of bothered me a bit. Had lots of rooms empty, if I had of known this I wouldn’t have booked online.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Always a pleasure. - I just love this hotel. Right on the heart of zona colonial and safe. The staff is great and the housekeepers are like family.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Love this place. easy access to the el Conde strip! Large beds
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Definitely needs to be upgraded. Same furniture for YEARS!!!! Staff very friendly and accommodating but again, this place neefs a face-lift.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hot water worked throughout my stay. Cleaning was consistent everyday. The wifi is not that great unless your room is in a certain area of the hotel (mostly by the elevator).
- RobertG. (10/5): - Always have a great stay at this hotel. They staff are very nice. The Roma is close to local bars, supermarkets, and discos. Cant wait to get back to my room 205!!!!
- Kenneth (8/5): good value - The room is large and comfortable. Good value for the price. The breakfast is really good and is free. My only complaint would be that upon arrival at check-in I was told that the hotel's credit card machine is broken and that I would have to pay cash. First, I don't believe that. Second, even if true, that should have been communicated to me before I left the US so that I would have sufficient cash to pay the hotel. I was forced to check out and check into another hotel which accepted credit cards.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the space in the hotels are great and the staff are amazin
- tairu (8/5): - it was very basic hotel very clean staff was very friendly
- Joyce (8/5): Good hotel on a budget. - Great place when you travel with pets. Convenient location on the Conde. Hotel is showing its age but the a/c, tv and refrigerator all work fine. Staff are very friendly.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - communication was terrible room was not clean and I cant find a bottle of water in the room the Frigidaire was not plug in .
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The location is excellent. Right in the heart of everything. The housekeeping and reception staff are all so nice, all shifts.
There was something wrong every single day, something is broke/not working. Temporary fix was helpful and temporary but when so much other stuff is starting to have an issue, the temporary fix isn't even worth it. Wifi was iffy. TV channels are limited.
Please do better.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Location is excellent (for me). Service is good, reception and housekeeping. Several issues with the rooms. I think the hotel has potential, he just need a lot of renovations. Quite outdated compared to several surrounding hotel properties.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the WiFi needs work but i do love the hotel. Cant wait to see the staff again.
- Randal (8/5): Great Location - At the last minute I needed another room, and they were very accommodating.
- giuseppe (2/5): - A parte la disponibilità del personale reception tutto il resto negativo a cominciare dal bar ristorante collegato all'hotel
- phillip (8/5): Average stay at Roma 2 - The staff was awesome and the room was clean. The only 2 issues I had was the power went out intermittently and the maintenance of the hotel need an upgrade
- Coleman (10/5): Great Place, Great Value! - Great Stay! The hotel is located great & the staff was amazinh
- Jorge (8/5): Experiencias en el Roma Ii - Muy comodo y bien accesible el hotel. El personal muy amables tod@s. Tengo planes de volver a quedarme de nuevo ahi.
- Robert (10/5): Aparta Hotel Roma 2 - The Front desk person (Renalda) the dark skined house keep are so nice to me. I stay their every Feb. and May and they always give me my favorite room 203.
- Franco (2/5): Maybe wrong room or wrong hotel? - For 3 days no hot water, toilet at last I’ve had to fix it myself, was not flushing,I’ve tried every day more the ones to get thei attention.....no luck.
- RF (6/5): Rf Chicago - The hotel is in a good location in Colonel Zone, near everything..Restaurants, grocery store, night club...The hotel was friendly & welcoming...The problems : I moved to three different rooms because the safes in the rooms wasn't working properly & on the final room I gave up & stayed in the room & kept things in the safe that didn't lock..2) The TV didn't work in the final room at all. 3) the shower had good hot water in the day time, but low pressure & cold at night & there was no cover on the shower head, so it just shot out..The rooms where spacious & clean..overall the place needs some upgrades & would take another chance on them in the future.
- roman (10/5): Great close to everything and good breakfast choic - Great location breakfast is teally good with 3 options room is very spacious and clean furniture in room very comfortable
- roman (10/5): great staff fernanda and linda are great and so is - always greatthe staff including fernanda and jenny are helpful and caring and nicole makes sure guests are happy
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great and Affordable - The location is perfect and the staff is super friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
- Polly (8/5): The Hotel - Expect things to be difference. The air conditioning, the safes, the furniture. The hotel is at best a 2 1/2 stars. I liked it for the price, and it was clean with large rooms. On level with some Best Western hotels in the states. The wifi worked sometimes, but the system is not designed for max occupancy with many users: however, their Cafe had excellent wifi just around the corner from hotel. Do not get a room on the street side, because it is noisy. Stayed here many times and I have no serious complaints. For the price, you pay for what you get.
- Herbert (6/5): - Moved to three different rooms during stay to address maintenance issues
- concerned (6/5): Need updating - Had to go in three rooms before acceptable. First room was clean and bed not made up.
- Thomas (10/5): - very enjoyable the hotel is a little old but the staff is so pleasant that you hardly notice....had a wonderful trip....have plans to stay again in a week when I return to santo domingo
- malo (4/5): Muy malo - el personal de limpieza me robó cosas de mi maleta
- Robert (8/5): 3rd trip - 3rd time going three: front desk woman is the best. I think her name is Renalda! ( Very Helpful and Speaks English)
- Redman (10/5): The Right Spot - As always, I enjoyed my stay in the Dominican Republic. The people are very nice, the weather is fantastic, the beach is great and night life is excellent.
- Michael (8/5): Nice hotel. Great location and friendly staff. - Very pleasant experience. The staff was very friendly and the location was great.
- Harris (4/5): - Bien situé mais le petit déjeuner inclut c'est une arnaque : un seul par chambre ..
- Dan (6/5): Great location - Stayed from 4/14 to 4/19/2016. Good location. Close to shops and restaurants. Colonial Zone is walking distance.
- radames (10/5): great hotel to start!!! - superb!! very friendly staff!! the owners are the best!! great location, good wifi, comfortable ac and beds
- phillip (8/5): solo escape - Staff was friendly and kept the hotel cleaned...
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent location - Great stay. nice hotel!
- Thomas (10/5): Good stay here for tourism. - Was an amazing stay there. The AC was not that great but it is comfortable. IT is right off the conde so it is safe to be around. No problems at all. I would suggest this hotel if you are looking to have a central spot to visit all the nearby attractions.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel was clean, centrally located and the staff was awesome
- Darian (6/5): Brother's Trip to DR - The hotel is located in a busy part of town. El Conde the old community which I knew it would be loud and busy. Had some issues with our reservations as I don't believe they have a computer system to track who reserved what. They ended up upgrading us to a nicer suite in the end at the lower rate so that worked out well. The staff is friendly, and they were prompt when we asked for things. The iron sucks tho, and we did not have cable for the first two nights (but I didn't come to the DR to watch tv). Overall, I would stay there again but don't expect too much considering.
- ERIC (2/5): Don't stay here..RipOff's!! - i stayed at this hotel and they are rip off's..I reserved the room online and had agreed to pay cash upon check-in and they still wanted to charge taxes..been staying in Dominican Republic for ten years and always pay cash and no taxes and sometimes get cheaper rate for paying cash..complained to owner and he just let his staff speak for him and said nothing..then sat in hotel lobby to use Internet while staying there, they did the same to other customers..my friends arrived days before me and paid cash and no taxes and showed the staff the receipts for what they paid, they just looked surprised..no other hotels operate like that..greedy staff/ owner
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hot water was an issue. Evening staff need more training
- Edward (2/5): Terrible Hotel - I book this hotel and the air condition didn't work the frig was broken. I was schedule to not pay until I leave the hotel. The hotel suppose to have shuttle to pick up to the hotel They lied they have no shuttle. I had to pay for a taxi 50.00 and when I got to the hotel a man at the counter charge me $69 dollars to stay when clearly I had reservations and that was my deal. They have no telephone service to call the United States and no internet service that it made it hard for me to make contact with the outside world. My debit/credit card was locked and I had to use my fiancé and now wife cell to call the United States to the Bank with cost her 200 dollars to make the call because she had no long distance or international service. They did let me stay from 25 to 28 without no money I had to finally got in contact with my bank on 28 with the use of my wife phone cells, Back when I arrived the first day the air condition work so I sweat that night and no phone and no tv or internet. This went on for my entire stay they finally got the Airconditon working on second day replace my TV on 3 day at my hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): internet extremely slow - Internet really slow is the gravest problem for the hotel.
- Sebastian (8/5): Beware and take extra money for the room cost!! - Hotel was great and staff were very courteous and helpful. It was conveniently located and area had a security presence. The problem that I did have was booking rhe room through hotels.com to find pit that the room had not been reserved at al althiugj I had a confirmation number. I ended up having to dip into the monies that i originally planned to spend for myself to pay for the room which I had not plannned on doing!!! The desk clerk told me that they do not do business wirh hotels.com which left me a bit bewildered!!! This also happened to a froend of mine who arrived there 3 days after I arrived!!!
- ozzie (6/5): Nice hotel, close to many cultural attractions and - I was told to go to their sister Hotel Roma 1 in order to pay by credit card. I was charged $78 for 1 night that I paid by credit card. Expedia should warn future guests that Roma 2 does not have a verifone. Pay cash and the rate is $65. Pay with credit card and the daily rate is $78 per night. My friend from NYC only paid $50 per night for an identical room. I was told that his hotel reservation was in advance. I made my reservation in advance through Expedia. Major problem with incompetent staff who did not know how to transfer a phone call to my room. I was told that he was "new". What nonsense. On another occasion the front desk failed to give me several phone messages left for me.
