- Nilaa (9/5): - Cute family run stay, perfect for travel loving couples! ❤️
Housekeeping was done daily and they provided us with fresh water bottles every day (which many modern day hotels don't give!) Very pleasant surroundings and even though I didn't have a chance to try, I heard they make a very good brekkie!
- Duncan (9/5): Lovely place nice food - Quaint Nothing
- Clint (10/5): -
- Jacob (8/5): Lovely location, excellent room. - Lovely room very clean and comfortable. Well equipped and had a great night's sleep. Lovely location in beautiful idyllic location. Liked everything about the room. However the exterior lead up to the room was quite shabby and wouldn't take a lot to clean it up, hide away some of the wood clutter mess, put up some plug in exterior lights on a timer to make it look more appealing.
- Jonathan (8/5): Very nice stay, thank you - Good evening meal (steak n ale pie). Good full english breakfast. Comfy bed and nice room. 👍
- Robert (9/5): Welcoming and clean, lovely rooms, we got there late but still had some food and breakfast was superb - Clean, friendly and hospitable Nothing was good throughout
- Simon (9/5): Great, well run, little hotel. - This is a lovely warm and friendly little hotel. Owner was very welcoming, rooms very comfy and pleasant. Everything you hope for a 2 night stay.
Home cooked food was excellent. Can't actually think of anything I didn't like
- Diana (8/5): -
- Paul (8/5): -
- Terry (8/5): Comfortable bed and a pleasant room - Had no breakfast, ideal location for visiting family Would have appreciated help with suitcase going up the outside stairs as my husband is 82 and finds it awkward to carry luggage.
Also found the shower slippery
- Hannah (10/5): Really warm welcome, the room was well equipped and comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We would def - Lovely clean and warm room. Warm welcome and a delicious breakfast Nothing
- Derek, HoT (9/5): A great find. Will return. - Very friendly welcome. Nice room with good working space. A great ale and beef pie for supper. A well cooked full English breakfast. No concerns.
- Paul (9/5): See like. - Comfy, peaceful, pleasant owner & woofer. Nothing
- Paul (8/5): Great value for money; quiet and unpretentious. Quirk old world charm - Very clean accommodation; comfortable room and bed, and large walk in shower. Had a good meal with delicious home made soup and pie Not much to dislike - would ideally have been nice to have real ale on tap rather than in bottles
- James (10/5): - Clean. Comfortable. Excellent food. Very pleasant and friendly landlords. Nothing
- Leo (9/5): -
- Derek (9/5): Very enjoyable - Excellent breakfast Outside staircase difficult for my disabled wife
- Paul (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): - The room and balcony and breakfast. Just the shower, great shower, but we couldn't have one as the water temperature is wrong.scalding hot, and hardly any cold coming through. We did mention it. Otherwise, perfect.
- Simeon (9/5): -
- Ryan (9/5): -
- Anne (8/5): Excellent room, lovely location of pretty Dorset village but “restaurant” not recommend - I did not have breakfast as I had a tight itinerary but I had dinner for which I sat in the bar as there were only 2 other customers sat at the bar who left and one customer to whom the owner chatted and in between left to cook the meal Front door was locked when I arrived at time I had booked. No atmosphere, food was average but when the food left on my plate was given to her dog near my table I was shocked and went to a nearby popular restaurant on my second night. I never went back into the bar again. This is not a hotel but an unfriendly pub with rooms tacked on to the back.
- Carter (9/5): Ideal for Mapperton weddings. Just make sure you pre-book taxis! - Great location for wedding at Mapperton. Room and bathroom were lovely. Breakfast was okay, but not the best.
- Alan (8/5): - The bedroom was very comfortable and a good size
- Janice (10/5): - Made to feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend
- Pauline (7/5): Lovely friendly owners , clean room, and dog friendly - Quiet, friendly staff, and room was very clean A small village without shops if you didn’t have transport it would be a problem.
- Reiner (10/5): -
- Angela (10/5): Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area.Very pleasant stay. - Very nice breakfast,so much choice.
- Caroline (5/5): - Breakfast day one wasn’t freshly cooked, day two much better
- Noon (10/5): -
- Brown (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at Parrett Hotel, the owners were very friendly. We loved their dog Ash. We will definitely return with one of our other dogs. Nothing
- John (7/5): Very comfortable and very friendly. - Very good breakfast, I had the full English, although, I was unable to eat all of it as quantity was very generous. My wife had scrambled egg which was excellent, on our first night we had evening meal in the bar. The gammon egg and chips was very good, however, the chips were amazing. Wife had scampi which she thoroughly enjoyed. There was nothing which we didn’t like, however, one point I will mention from a personal point of view as a non smoker, the smell smoke from downstairs in the patio garden area was wafting into our room. Having rooms above a smoking area is probably not a good idea.
- Peter (9/5): -
- Paul (9/5): Lovely, friendly, helped make a fantastic weekend in Dorset -
- DAVID (10/5): - A lovely full English breakfast. Friendly staff. Lovely and clean. A very comfortable bed. N/A
- Roselyn (2/5): Disappointing, overpriced and stank of cigarettes. - I was told upon arrival that their would be breakfast, I went downstairs in the morning and knocked on the door. Was greeted by the owner, she then said that I couldn't have breakfast. I asked if I could have a coffee and she just shrugged "no". The inside of the "restaurant" STANK of cigarettes, I could smell it from the doorway (wasn't allowed past the doorway) even if I was allowed breakfast I would probably have turned around due to the smell. They also had a Reform UK flag on the front of the building, which I found incredibly problematic, given the parties morals/racism. Refusal of fresh coffee/breakfast.
- Matthew (8/5): -
- Ian (7/5): Comfortable and convenient location - Sausage and mash was excellent.
- Amanda (8/5): -
- Daniel (6/5): -
- Hall (9/5): Just a nice family feel . Very friendly and great value. I will be back - Breakfast was timed and made to order for me at a requested time. No hanging around. Really fresh and nice bread eggs etc. Room had a super comfy bed . Freshly decorated . Sat in the bar talking with the land lady and other guests made it really pleasant Perhaps move the restaurant speaker from its high point in the room. Whilst faint it is audible in the above rooms
- Jonathan (10/5): Enjoyed our stay. - Good location to break up our trip. Friendly owners. Enjoyed the food & beer.
- John (9/5): An excellent visit. - The lady managing the hotel was very pleasant and helpful. Facilities were excellent. The toast for breakfast. It was home made all right but lacked salt and was very dry.
- Wendy (8/5): - Comfortable bed 🛌 and nice large bathroom
The breakfast was delicious Felt a bit unwelcome somehow - hard to explain
- John (7/5): -
- Tudor (7/5): -
- Jane (4/5): Very disappointing - The meal in the evening was good even though we had to sit in the bar area. Bed was comfortable Cooked breakfast was very disappointing. Bathroom looked as though it had recently had new toilet and shower. Decorating needed updating in bedroom and bathroom. Could not see where to turn on heated towel rail. There were no instructions in case of a fire. Back yard untidy and unnecessary rubbish piled all over.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Janet (4/5): We envisaged a cosy country pub with lovely homemade food but it was not like that at all... - The rooms were very nice... Good showers... TV good.. NO HAIRDRYER - this was advertized as being in the room.
Breakfast menu stated "HOMEMADE BREAD" but this was not available so we were given rock hard brown sliced bread. which we had to send back as it was cole and inedible..
Breakfast was not worth the £15 each that we paid..
- Fred Homer (8/5): Nice people and great breakfast - Breakfast outstandingly good , reception efficient and pleasant. Bed comfortable. Good shower. I'd stay again if passing that way Nothing negative to say.
- Davide (10/5): Really good hosts. - The room was spacious, comfortable bed and private balcony. Nothing
- Valerie (10/5): Friendly, welcoming stay. Very helpful with advising on taxi’s - Very clean and comfortable
- Jayne (10/5): -
- John (9/5): Crewkerne close by - Good stay.
Breakfast excellent.
May sit out the back and see/hear the river when in good flood.
Well sited for my trips out and about.
Have a dog called Ash.
A side road runs alongside however is not at all busy.
Great stay 2 nights and would stay again.
- Jason (7/5): - Very comfortable bed in the superior room. Slept well.
- Noon (10/5): Recommend - Good quality and friendly staff. Great breakfast Nothing
- M. (7/5): - Very friendly people , nice room with a very good bed. Only first day room was a bit cold and does not warm up fast. Second day this was no longer an issue.
- Jenny Wren (10/5): -
- FT (8/5): Clean Room & Big Breakfast - Lovely privately owned hotel. Hearty bar food and a huge cooked breakfast. Room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable.
- colin (8/5): friendly staff and room was comfortable - breakfast was very good the cooked breakfast was nice and hot more guests to chat to
- Peter (9/5): -
- Linda (9/5): really good - breafast was exceptionly good there was a bar for a beer
- Evan60 (10/5): Short stay in Dorset to visit relatives - Good location, well equipped rooms Not much to dislike, hotel met expectations

- Stuart (7/5): -
- Karen (9/5): As always very pleasant stay - Comfortable, clean, friendly
- Joanna (8/5): -
- John (9/5): Good value base. - Evening meal is generous, along with breakfadt. Good size comfottable room with good selection of teas/coffee and clean modern 'rain' shower. Bar closed when returning after evening out, as early cudtomers had left.
- Jonathan (8/5): Well worth a visit - Best breakfast ever 😋 excellently cooked by Eve and really good ingredients. Very comfy bed, room just felt very homely Unfortunate smell of cigarettes around the premises on occasions
- Allister (9/5): - Easy to locate and convenient.
Breakfast was excellent, cooked fresh, very tasty and served on hot plates. An excellent experience. Nothing
- donald (8/5): -
- Graham (9/5): Super friendly and helpful - good rooms and food. -
- Michael (8/5): -
- Bayliss (10/5): - Very freidly host. Rooms were lovely, clean and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast was 10 out of 10 and cooked fresh to order. Would definitely go back again. The only negative comment has nothing to do with the hotel. Just could not get a taxi at all 🤣 so better to pre book or have a lift.
- Jo (6/5): You get what you pay for - Lovely clean sheets, towels and bathroom fittings, spacious room, plenty of parking, great place to bring a dog although take proper gear for walking - the local footpaths were overgrown and slippery when I was there in August. This place is very convenient for travellers but it all feels rather unloved and down at heel. It’s noticeable that being the only pub in the village, it doesn’t seem to be welcoming any locals, and the original pub has been chopped up so the remaining bar is small and dark, and not somewhere inviting to spend an evening. This lovely old building seems to have had some really odd conversion work done, along with some politically controversial and tatty flags flying outside.
There were some serious black mould marks on the bathroom ceiling and across the beautiful mullion window frames.
Be warned if you have a dog you will be expected to pay a nightly charge on arrival (Booking.com does not make this clear.)
- Nick (8/5): -
- Julia (8/5): -
- Mark (8/5): Very pleasant, good value - Large clean room, good selection of coffee, tea in room replenished each day.

- NICOLA (9/5): Very clean and comfortable-highly recommend - The room was lovely, good size and everything you need. Very clean. It was a lovely quiet setting. I didn't try the restaurant so cannot comment. I would stay here again. The host was very welcoming, especially as I arrived much earlier than anticipated. Nothing to dislike
- Jan (10/5): Very good! - Lovely room and easy to park. Nothing.

Meals were delicious and freshly cooked .
Hope to stay here again when visiting friends and family. Nothing, everything was brilliant.
- Lenartowicz (9/5): -
- christopher (9/5): Wonderful visit - The bedrooms were superb and well-thought out. It was wonderfully quiet. Breakfast was beautifully prepared - even the bacon was done to perfection, which isn't always the case! The step into the bedroom (a fire safety feature?) was a trip hazard. Apart from that we liked everything.
- robert (9/5): Perfect stay for my options-owners helpful - Lovely room
Quite and pretty location Nothing
