Guest Reviews
- corey (10/5): - You want to unplug from everything and just walk on a beach holding hands or hanging out in the pool with a drink. This is your place.
- Kim (10/5): - Loved!
- Odinney (10/5): - Very quiet place, beach across easy access. Chairs available on the beach.
I will return
- Lisa (10/5): - We had a second room floor on the end with a beautiful view of beach. Great to listen to rush of beach water all times. Meals here are wonderful. If coming be sure to get room not on end as the wifi is not always good--closer to center of hotel area I hear much better. We had a sloth and baby in nearby tree. We'll be coming back here.
- Lisa (10/5): - Great area. Beach view is wonderful w nice palm lined walk way to beach. Water is rough here so swimming may be limited.
- Paula (10/5): - Delfin is a world away from mega resorts
Small intimate local incredible staff
5 th time @ Delfin. Good base location for the
attractions in the area ❤️❤️
- Paula (10/5): - It’s not 5 star by any means however
Location, views & staff make it worthwhile.
Our 5 th time ‼️❤️
- Minor (8/5): - Nice place!
- Ann (10/5): Loved this place! - Beautiful beach resort. Loved everything. So peaceful!
- Ian (10/5): - The hotel is in a great position with acceess to the superb beach. The facilities are good with much wildlife in and around the well kept gardens. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable and well equipped with a large private balcony overlooking the beach and sea.
- Susan (6/5): - Very friendly staff.
There is no elevator which made it difficult being we were on second floor. Swimming pool has no railing to hold onto going down the stairs to get into the pool.
- MARCOS (4/5): - Booked for 3 people, and they assigned us a 2person Bed, then 1 had to sleep on a mattress on the floor.
Receptionist was always in a bad mood.
- Hazem (10/5): - Nice location and very good service
- Verified traveler (8/5): Don't leave valuables in room - Dated facility but pretty good. Staff was friendly and helpful except for one housekeeper. We were missing $200 out of my purse after we returned to our room after dinner.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Really got on the beach. Great pool.
- Paula (10/5): - Remote spectacular beaches, could use bathroom Reno re:shower
Our 3rd time there
- John (8/5): - Older building but maintained with very friendly and accommodating staff. The pool was excellent. Food was good at a reasonable price. Comfortable with a great ocean view from the front second floor rooms. You cannot flush toilet tissues in many of the older Costa Rican bathrooms but it’s certainly not a huge issue. Nice place to stay and Bejuco Beach is a long, quiet, absolutely pristine sand without a single stone in it for miles. Good restaurants and grocery 1.5km away.
- Armando (10/5): - The hotel room was comfortable and well outfitted. The hotel location is about 100 yards from the beach and offers a great opportunity to watch the sunrise and sunset. It is somewhat secluded but in a safe area.
The staff were very hospitable and accommodating. The food is great and reasonably priced. The pool area is nice and refreshing. It’s a short drive to Manuel Antonio and is priced reasonably for what it offers.
- Eric (10/5): - This is our third time staying at this hotel. Love the location. Has the most fabulous beach directly in front of the hotel. Also a lovely pool for non-salt water swimming. Staff is super friendly, accommodations are clean and comfortable. A slightly older facility, but this is a factor that is outweighed by the location!
- Linda (10/5): - The beach is absolutely the best. High tide is about 150 feet from the main door. The hotel is small so there is never a crowd even when it’s fully booked. Great typical Costa Rican breakfast is included.
- Shanna (10/5): - A hidden gem! Can’t recommend this property enough!
- Alejandro (10/5): - Beautiful views and location
- W. Jeffrey (10/5): - Perfect place to unwind for a few days after a busy Costa Rican trip. The beach was perfect.
- Lynn (10/5): - A hidden gem within footsteps to one of the most pristine beaches. This spot was a wonderful introduction to beautiful Costa Rica.
- Lynn (10/5): - Hotel Delfin was located within yards of the beach. The grounds were clean and the ammenities were sufficient for a few day stay. The staff were so friendly and had lots of tips for navidating the area. Eduardo & David were the best! The food (octopus & shrimp dishes) were among the best we sampled in Costa Rica. Playa Bejuco is a hidden gem with soft sandy beaches that are wide and very little travelled. We will be back again! Pura Vida.
- Craig (10/5): -
- Bruno (8/5): - The quiet beach and proximity to the beach was great!
- Christina (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and treated us as if we were the most important guests there. You can’t beat the view of the ocean and the surf was perfect for my teenagers. The restaurant menu was limited, but everything on it was incredible. We hope to come back for a visit soon!
- Darin (10/5): - Well maintained property - staff were pleasant and helpful. The view of the ocean from this hotel is marvellous and one can hear surf breaking 24/7.
- Gary (10/5): Delfín hotel - Unbelievable sunsets on Playa Bejuco. Had another great stay at the Delfin. Dining services and nice menu. Staff will help you any way they can.
- Jordan (10/5): - I love Hotel Delfin. It was quiet, secluded, and right on the beach. The food was excellent and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I can’t wait to stay there again. I didn’t want to leave.
- Matthew (10/5): Great spot on beach - Great spot with great pool, nice restaurant on site, across road from beautiful beach. Bed comfy, ac strong, but just opened the screened windows for cross ventilation and fell asleep to the sound of the waves.
- Timothy (10/5): Felt safe in the time of Covid-19
- Love this hotel. Had always been an overnight so on way to our from Panama. First time we stayed for the nights. Great staff, great restaurant, good service, comfortable bed. There for a memorial service this time. Handled very safely and personally in this time of Covid. Definitely recommended!
- Janet (10/5): Great place Hotel Delfin - I loved staying here for three nights .
It’s on the beach, has a nice clean pool area and the meals were delicious !
It’s quiet and the staff were very friendly.
I would definitely go back as this is the kind of place I really enjoy.!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awsome hotel on best beach on planet. Great food and super friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful location next to the ocean as all rooms have a view. Great staff. Rooms are large and airy, pool is great and bar close by. Don’t be afraid to drive down the long dirt road to get here, it’s worth it.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Go somewhere else! - What a dump! Better to stay somewhere else!
- Sandra (4/5): Not a bad place but a bad ending. - We had to leave early because there was no water. Hotels.com provided no refund.
- Timothy (10/5): Great place to stay on the way to Panama - Always a wonderful time Eddy and staff are great and the restaurant is great
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A short walk across the pathway to an amazing beach. Great for long walks, playing in the surf, and beautiful sunsets. Hotel is a bit older, but fairly well maintained, with a lovely pool. Dining room served great food.
Would recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - You know what? This property is perfect, large dome above main entrance room for a 737 to park, very clean and nice rooms with beds they aren’t soggy messes but rather the newer updated elite eco - pallets with firm support and comfy pillow top. There isn’t a bad room in the place, lots of space on a secluded beach that is unrivaled by any coast line in Costa Rica. Perfect pool, wonderful kitchen, best local breakfast with native rice and beans, eggs, plantains, fresh coffee, juice etc. what more do you need in paradise? Proprietor is on site who is invested in maintaining an excellent beach experience, I doubt you’ll find a better value on the pacific.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very confortable room, bed, nice pool, beach front, restaurant meal is good
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Está frente al mar y balcones muy amplios brisa muy rica y preciosa vista Del Mar y la playa
- Adriana (10/5): A quiet and very relaxing vacation at this hotel - Great view from any hotel room. The rooms need some upgrading, but comfortable overall. The pool and the jacuzzi are great . The beach is just across the street and Jaco is about 20 min drive from the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is in a great setting and the hotel is nice but the food and drinks are way over priced.
- Sue (10/5): - Todo estuvo bien , super conveniente , a buen precio , frente a la playa , muy tranquilo.
- Alla (8/5): - I liked everything. Only one breakfast girl was not really nice but in general everything was OK. The bed was a little uncomfortable but nothing wrong.
- Eduardo (8/5): - I liked hotel’s location beach-front, pool needs maintenance and cleaning and food and beverages were expensive.
- Timothy (10/5): Great hotel on the beach in Playa Bejuco - Room was great and view of the ocean is fantastic. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Jasmine and Eduardo do an excellent job. The breakfast is very good and Oscar the cook was great. The pool is also very nice. We plan to return soon😎
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Me gusto mucho la ubicación del lugar y la tranquilidad.
No me gustó el precio de la comida el cual es muy alto, aunque similar a los ofrecidos en la zona.
Las camas no son muy suaves.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice location if you want to be away from everything and be next to the nature. friendly people & good food. It is not a 5hotel but very clean and right at the beautiful beach.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We checked in at noon, but they wouldn't give us the remotes for the air conditioning or TV until 2, the official check in time. That started our stay with a negative tone. Other than that, it was fine.
- Jenna (10/5): Lovely - Great friendly service, rooms right on the beach, pool is lovely and Chef Kevin Is the best!
- Au (10/5): - Location 😁 we enjoyied the wonderful beach. The chef did a great Job. Staff was nice.
- Bryan (10/5): Nice hotel, right in front of the beach - Nice hotel, right in front of the beach. Great price, nice pool and awesome breakfast
- Ruth (8/5): Nice hotel right on the beach! - We enjoyed our stay at the Delfin Hotel. It is located right on the beach (only a gravel road between the beach and the hotel). There were very few people on the beach, so it was very private. Rip tide warnings were posted on the beach, but there were no problems at all for us swimming in the ocean. However, we did make a conscious effort not to go in too deep...just to our waists. The swimming pool was very warm and relaxing to swim in after playing in the waves of the ocean. The dining room area is pleasant and faces the ocean for watching the sunset. WIFI reception in our room wasn't great because of the building's structure, but it was fine outside on our private balcony (which faced the ocean) as well as in the common dining room area. The location of the hotel is fairly central to a number of towns/attractions, for example: 50 minutes to Manual Antonio NP, 30 minutes to Jaco, 1hr 20 minutes to Carara NP, and about 2 hours to San Jose. We would recommend a stay at this hotel.
- Anna (4/5): Not so much - We had to ask for them to turn the water heater on everyday and beds were really hard.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Low key hotel by the beach. Well maintained. All staff admit any needs and they may be able to accommodate. They can order surf boards to your door, when there are no rental shops nearby.
- Doreen (10/5): Excellent location right on the beach. - Friendly staff with a good restaurant- very pleasant stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful place! So peaceful and comfortable. Bathrooms are small but Ok. The restaurant is a bit expensive but the food is good.
- Jorge (8/5): One Night Stay early December - Room and hotel nice for the price. Good king size bed, lots of space for luggage but no closets. A/C and hot water more than adequate. Shower/restroom is kind of small.
- Teodoro (6/5): Òne day stay - Overall good impression. Personally, a bit frustrated with the restaurant food: being lacto-vegetarian, I hardly had anyfhing to eat for dinner: a tiny salad, mostly lettuce, with a few very thin slices of tomatoes at the edges of the plate (I evaluated about one quarter of a small tomato), and infinitesimal traces of parmezan cheese (I did not feel its taste, but the server assured me it was there!), no oil, vinegar or any other dressing, and three tiny slices of garlic bread. And all this after i specifically requested a big tomato salad with the delicious local fresh cheese and bread. Fortunately, I had a big jar of local water for my thirst. Everything else was all right, very nice, friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Overpriced, strange vibe - Hotel was overpriced for the quality of the place, especially in low season ($70). We were one pair of 2 other guests, one older white man who hosted a "lady of the night" at night. Very strange vibe, almost inexistant wifi. Isolated location with little option for food nearby. Positive: Hotel was staff was friendly and there is direct beach access and a decent pool.
- augusto (8/5): - Small restrooms on the bedrooms. Hotel and staff ok. The hotel is overprice.
- underize (4/5): Not really what we expected, for the price - Although it was a long weekend and of course prices get higher than normal, the hotel has some minor issues that will make you think twice on how much you are paying. Ceiling fan was really loud after few hours, knobs in the shower were all mixed up and there was no water pressure in, no beach towels (beach is just across the street). There is no Wifi signal in the rooms (we tried two rooms due to the issues mentioned above). Router is there but it is poorly located, with just a relocation of the router rooms can have Wifi signal. Other than that, Staff, pool, security, parking, location and restaurant are awesome.
Hope they can do some minor fixes to improve visitor's experience
- Farrah (8/5): Beatiful beachfront hotel - Excellent staff, nice pool and beautiful beach.
The hotel isn't too big so it feels like your private getaway.
- Farrah (10/5): Beautiful beach - Excellent service and attention. Beautiful beach and nice pool. Well worth it!
- Jeff (8/5): Nice place to stay - Overall we are pleased with our stay. The only shortcomings of this facility are the beds are pretty firm and lack wifi in the rooms, but this isn't we're you should be spending your time. However, the food, staff, and facility are what I would consider to be exceptional. All were extremely nice and accommodating. We spent a considerable amount of time talking with Edward(bartender) and he was fantastic. If you can overlook a couple small things, I believe most anyone would find this to be a excellent choice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Location is great! - Some staff was nice, some weren't. Hotel was nice, pool area very nice.
- mayra (8/5): Nice - Nice hotel, not enough outlets to charge your electronics though
- Patricia (10/5): Amazing hotel in a quiet, prime location! - This property is a hidden jewel on a beautiful, quiet road with a gorgeous beach to walk along. The hotel itself is very beautiful, and was a luxury and grand hotel in it's time. Only suggestion is that they improve the opening and closing of the windows that stick due to salt air and fix some of the screens. The beds were a bit firm. But I LOVED this place and the breakfast was very good and location too!
- Brenda (6/5): - The service was great, Edward spoke English and had a great sense of humor. The pool was out of commission so we couldn't use it. The ocean was only feet away witch was great.
- Gary (10/5): another great stay - Seldom is a great quite hotel on beach. Chef Tony is back.
- Podroznik (8/5): North American prices but better than C R average - Stayed one day only. Good location to explore this part of the coast but not much else to do if you want to entertain yourself but to relax .Beach just across the road. Include breakfast OK.
- Tony (8/5): It's truly a beach front hotel - I did a last minute booking and found it's a very good deal. It cannot be any closer to the beach, just a very short walk.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location, staff and restaurant! - Friendly staff, spoke English and Spanish. Made us feel welcome. We booked one night and stayed for 3. Great chef at restaurant. Hotel was on secluded beach plus had a pool. Rooms were spaciousness and we had laundry done complementary. Highlight hotel of our 3 week trip in Costa Rica
- kilian (10/5): - Great stay at The Delfin. The employees were very kind. The food was great. It was a nice place to stay for my surf contest which was right up the road.
- Jeff (8/5): Good over all - On the beach, wifi only in lobby
