Guest Reviews
- Tracey (7/5): - There wasn’t breakfast. The room was comfortable. Have a comfortable outside area. It didn’t make you want to sit outside
- Sarah (10/5): - Stayed here for the weekend to go snowboarding with my fiance. We got in late so contactless check in was perfect us. We had a little difficulty with the door code in the morning but the staff was responsive and also let us know they are working on fixing it. Room had a roku tv so we were able to log into our accounts and watch our shows after a long day on the slopes. Close to restaurants, clean room, didn't hear our neighbors. We will be staying here again! As mentioned above, the door code had some difficulty but the staff were aware and able to help us remotely.
- ThuSuong (8/5): -
- Nekole (8/5): -
- Jennifer (2/5): No - No No
- Rahul (10/5): Great! - If you are traveling with your furry friend, Playpark lodge is the best place. The facilities are exactly as described and they go above and beyond to make your and your dogs life easy. One of the best pet policies of any hotel/accommodation we have stayed at.
- Maureen (10/5): - Easy to find. Easy to get in. Very cozy clean room with coffee maker, fridge, microwave.
- Michael (6/5): -
- Kumiko (8/5): - The room has been renovated and had everything I needed. I appreciated small things - paper towel, paper plates and cups, utensils, and working outlets (it's frustrating when your chargers don't stay in the outlets at some motels). Even though the motel is located on a busy road, the road noise did not bother me at all. There is no staff on site and you get the entry key code remotely, which worked just fine.
- MYRIAM (9/5): - Très calme, pas juste à côté du lac mais on y est rapidement en voiture. On peut manger ou se ravitailler à proximité.
- Tanya (8/5): - Fin
- James (10/5): - Nice. A bit weird with no staff. Turned out fine. Great room.
- Tracy (8/5): -
- christopher (10/5): Great experience - This hotel is very clean and cute ..Owners are extremely helpfull and frienldy....We will definitely be staying there again
- William (10/5): - Property was clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent!

- Churchward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raquel (9/5): Great place to stay. - Clean, comfy bed. Everything we needed for “kitchen stuff” and toiletries. Everything was good. We had an issue with the hot water and they fixed it really quickly.
- Michael (10/5): Our go to place now for summer and winter - Three days two nights
Spa is great for after skiing all day fireplace gave a nice touch everything within walking distance
Very quiet
- jenny (10/5): - Playpark Lodge was everything you could hope for. It was well laid out, had everything you could require (there was no decaf coffee but they delivered right after I requested it). I will definitely stay there again.
- Churchward (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and convenient. Nothing
- Deisi (10/5): Exceptional - It was super clean and cute room decorations! Loved it and outside was so beautiful!
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rima (8/5): Very good -
- Jill (10/5): - Very welcoming and cozy stay! TV WiFi had some issues staying connected.
- Dennis (10/5): Exceptional - Was conveniently located, parking was right in front of the room. No complaints. None.
- Fang-yu (8/5): - Nice location for Ski in Sierra at Tahoe
- Ashwini (10/5): - Very good location and easy parking. Rooms were very clean! Will definitely stay again.
- E. Andres (10/5): - Rooms have been upgraded with new doors & electronic locks, sinks, showers, tables, chairs, beds, coffeemakers, microwaves and minifridges. So even though the rooms are small (the motel itself is old) it's still a good value given the upgrades. One improvement we would suggest is to install some kind of rack in the rooms to be able to hang clothing (such as wet ski clothes).
- Juliet (8/5): - Perfect for one night stay
- AR (8/5): - It was good to stay .clean room ,room smell like clean
- Yibo (9/5): Superb - Contactless check in: password will be provided by email and text message.
Cozy room, with microwave and disposable serving utensils provided.
Great location, close to South Lake Tahoe (many restaurants and ski resorts).
Free parking.
Powerful heater. Room space is a little limited, but good enough for two people.

- Sam (8/5): - Convenient location and recently updated
- Michael (10/5): - Clean and neat property with plentiful room amenities. Check in was done remotely and room access was via a code. 4 restaurants within 5 min walking distance. Very comfortable stay. $40 per night fee for my dog. I would return.
- Stuart (9/5): Dog friendly comfort and convenience - Incredibly convenient and quality option when visiting South Lake. Very dog friendly :) Nothing really! Some guests parked wrong which made parking more complicated
- Stuart (9/5): Superb -
- Alexandrea (8/5): Great dog friendly stay - We loved Playpark’s accommodations for our dog. When we arrived we were welcomed with a dog treat, dog bowl, dog towel and sheet that our dog could lay on without being on the actual bed sheets. The bed was comfy and the room had everything we needed for a weekend stay in Tahoe.
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Tivise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (8/5): - I normally love this little place. This time I didn’t care for the room I was placed in and the shower wasn’t working correctly.
- Alexis (9/5): Superb -
- Gawhar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jose (10/5): Exceptional - very nice and friendly staff. great place.
- Terry (10/5): The owner was wonderful we booked our stay for two nights because we were up there to do a Goat Yoga experience for 100 - Clean new great location Nothing
- Bianca (10/5): Enjoyable definitely returning to stay again - It was like home. Very comfortable. Enjoyed the separate living spaces The courtyard was cute and have fun outdoor games beautiful landscaping
- Robert (8/5): - It is a basic place to stay for the night - nothing fancy or upscale. Clean, fairly conveniently located, good outdoor space and facilities, it meets all the basic requirements.
- Wendy (8/5): - response from management is excellent
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice room for the price - beds were super comfortable and the room had nice details and great amenities.
- Kristina (10/5): Perfect location for a family stay in Lake Tahoe. Close enough to everything, with great amenities! - We enjoyed our stay at PlayPark Lodge. Everything was updated and clean, plenty of room for our families needs. We really appreciated having a separate room for the kids! The shower had great water pressure, and all of the beds were comfortable. There is a beautiful outdoor community area with fire pits, strung lights for the evening, and a variety of lawn games. The kids loved playing cornhole and jenga. The check-in process was extremely easy. The TV was requiring login information for all of the various services (netflix, hulu, disney...) so we weren't able to use it.
- Ural (8/5): Very good -
- Ashley (4/5): Convenient location, not a good choice in the summer. - We loved the location. There is no AC.
- Whitney (7/5): Well decorated good location to avoid crowds - Well designed cosmetic updates, lots of hooks for things, and I appreciated the kitchen supplies. The location is fantastic since our friends have a place in the Keys and our goal was to avoid the traffic of the “downtown” area. The shower was a postage stamp and the bathroom needs more counter space or an additional small table b/c there’s lots of wasted/empty space. The mini fridge was not turned on when we arrived and then something was weird with the knob so after an entire day without it getting cold I ended up having to throw out all of our sandwich supplies AND THEN it finally got cold. There was also a large gap under the entrance door so we spotted some ants here and there. We paid too much but that was because it was a holiday.
- steven (10/5): Another Excellent Stay - Staff and the contactless process works PERFECT. Rooms are tastefully decorated and spotless clean.
- Susan (8/5): Very good -
- Chen-yin (10/5): Love it! - Everything No
- Armando (10/5): Great place to stay! - The room was beautiful. I love this location & I'm happy to have found this place to stay. The service was great! Staff is friendly.
I highly recommend this lodge. Will come again!! The bed was a bit too hard for my liking. I wish it was more soft.
- Joris (8/5): Great value! - Nicely decorated rooms with comfortable beds and great shower (loved the pressure!). Location is good, with some restaurant options nearby and a supermarket for some groceries. Check-in went fine. Netflix available on the TV. Would definitely stay here again. Walls between the rooms are thin. You can hear your neighbors conversation.
- Kathryn (10/5): Great place in SLT! - This was our second stay here and once again it did not disappoint!
- Kuznetsova (10/5): I highly recommend this place - I really loved that the room was very clean and furniture was brand new.
The location is also good as it’s just 15 min driving distance from Inspiration Point (Emerald Bay).
The price is very reasonable. No complain
- Susan (2/5): - I didn't stay. When I got there, there was construction materials and multiple pickup trucks - I did not feel safe, and drove several hours to get home instead of staying.
- Elisa (9/5): Superb -
- Lynn (10/5): Mountain hospitality with yester year grace and comfort. - Amazing style and every single “extra” included as if you were staying with your parents in the guest bungalow.
- Jessica (6/5): - The property is old but inside is quite nice.
The floor is crooked
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Olivia (2/5): terrible - whether was great, but the place if you love your family please don't take it there, the hotel is but too small, old, not clean i found a spider in my bed, and more hanging by the door, we check in on Wednesday and we suppose to get out Saturday but we can't the place was really but, i check out Friday morning and they suppose refuse for Saturday night but i email on Saturday and they change their mind, but please please never go there is really really terrible place.
- Kathryn (10/5): Fantastic find! - This hotel was such a great find! It’s very family friendly, and so conveniently located! We were there in March for a snowshoeing trip.
What first attracted us to it was the fact that it is dog friendly! And I mean, dog friendly! Right inside the door was gear for the dog plus a biscuit!
We had the king suite which was wonderful. The bed was comfy and the room had so many thoughtful extras: a flashlight, a power strip, picnic ware, and plenty of fluffy white towels!
We’ve already booked our next stay!
- John (7/5): Convenient, cute, good value, bathroom needs a serious upgrade. - Really nicely appointed room and nice adjoining double for a family. Check in and out was easy. Very clean. Good location and good value. Very strong and nice heater. While the room was very nice the bathroom seemed to be 40 years old and never remodeled. The shower was TINY to the point where i needed to move the nozzle towards the corner to not feel claustrophobic, but it was warm and had good pressure. It just seems like with how nicely they remodeled the room, they really should put a few thousand dollars into the bathroom so you don't feel so let down when you enter it.
- Craig (6/5): - "Renovated" is a loose term. The stone floor in the bathroom was icky, crumbling, dirty in the grout between tiles and freezing cold. Walls are paper thin. There are nicer hotels in the South Lake Tahoe area for less.
- Stephen (8/5): A good value for a decent room - A good value compared to many of the overpriced hotels and motels the weekend after Presidents Day weekend. The room had a primary bedroom, a secondary bedroom with a bunk bed for the kids (though with no door), a small common room with a small refrigerator (but no freezer section), microwave, coffee maker, and disposable plates/cups/utensils/paper towels. The primary bed was only double sized but had a comfortable foam mattress. The bathroom was pretty small with not much counter space to put things down, and a small shower stall (with an absurdly tight knob to turn on the water and adjust the temperature) with a curtain that didn't quite stretch the whole way across. The walls were thin and we could hear the TV and conversations from the next unit though muffled and primarily from the common room and not as much from the primary bedroom. The room (unit 2) was one of the closer ones to highway 50, but it was far away enough and the road is not traveled by vehicles at very high speeds so road noise was not really an issue the way it can be with motels near highway 80 in Truckee.
So, various little complaints, but overall a good value and I would consider staying there again. Having said that, friends got a last minute room at the Hilton for like $50 more/night and I would guess that would be much better overall, but I don't believe that was available when I booked months in advance and likely the result of late cancellations.
- Roberto (8/5): Very good -
- Jenesis (10/5): - It was a pleasure residing at the Play Park Lodge. We came to celebrate my husbands birthday and it was super convenient for food areas and things to do. We went exploring and didn’t have to worry about a long drive because it was RIGHT THERE !!! 10/10 I recommend!!!!…
- Anton (9/5): Comfortable, cozy, convenient place to stay the night. - Location, close to the lake. It was clean, easy to check in. Non staff resort, but responded quick though texts. Nothing really, the bathroom looked old, but that didn’t really matter.
- Chaitanya (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alcantar (10/5): Really happy with the attentiveness to my doggie - Clean
- San (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious and convenient location.
Kind and friendly staff. Hope construction is finished.
- Margarita (8/5): But overall the stay was nice, things are very close by and the room is very cozy ! - The area was really nice and quiet and right next to it there’s a pizza restaurant, and also breakfast places around the area. I think the only thing would be the bathroom, the shower would clog up and would drain very slowly.
- Robert (6/5): Not a comfortable space, but the bed was fine. - Clean, plenty of hot water for a shower Very small, kind of cramped. Not much space to put luggage or hang clothes. Seemed old, a bit worn and tired.
- Faiza (10/5): - Check in process very simple
- Cory (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (10/5): Cozy and charming - I love staying at this cute little lodge.
- Ketlin (4/5): Not worth the price! I’ve never seen a bathroom so small like that, you barely can move to the sides, there is mold on t - Location Terrible bed, the bathroom is old and extremely small very noise heather
- Milian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marianne (7/5): Good -
- Sreekanth (8/5): Very good -
- Kenneth (4/5): Not bad, not good either - The room in the pictures for booking was nice. Unfortunately, that may have been a remodeled room, the one stayed in was nowhere near what the picture showed. Very outdated, the front porch was under construction which made for a large step into the room and constant banging / loud noises outside the room. May be a nice place to stay if you have kids to utilize the outside play area.
- Douglas (10/5): - Very clean and check in process was made very easy.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tatiana (10/5): Great - Nice cosy rooms with romantic patio & firepit
- Colleen (7/5): Nice place and close to stores, food, and the lake. - Liked that the offered a 2 bedroom. They had stuff for families to do in their courtyard. Loved it had a fridge & Keurig with stocked coffee pods . Aldi had a microwave. The shower was small and the tile floor was old & cracked. The laminate floors definitely need replacing. Could have used a tv in the “kids” bedroom as well.
- Jolene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liezl (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed our stay here. Me and my husband, can’t say enough good things about the place, from the accommodating service provided during reservation.. the check- in and check-out process were fast and smooth. To us the best part was the continued communication of the staff, they always engaged with you all the time. They respond to you right away. And of course, the room were nice ,clean and spacious with full of amenities from the kitchen and bathroom necessities. The bathtub was a plus it’s very relaxing. Overall, good customer service, clean room and highly recommended.
- Carolyn (6/5): Construction going on - They had construction going on in parking lot leaving open ditches and loose pavers in walkways. Started construction @ 7am so no sleeping In. Bed was too hard, they need memory foam or ?
- Carolyn (10/5): - Construction work with open ditches, loose bricks on walkways & entrances.Very unsafe
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
