Guest Reviews
- Renker (10/5): - Beautiful location! The Inn was amazing!
- William (9/5): -
- Connor (6/5): -
- Sue (7/5): Location was not on water and rooms were undertaking updates. - There was no breakfast. Just coffee and I believe donuts, didn't check it out. The dresser in room had no handles on the drawers and had to open bottom one in order to open middle one and then the same for the top one. There was no place to hang up any clothes, and few electrical outlets to plug in hair dryer, etc.
Beach side view was of the water across Sheppler's parking lot, not even on a beach front.
- Kurt (5/5): It was o.k. - Not enough electrical outlets to charge the phones!!!
- Bruce (7/5): -
- Tracey (8/5): - No staff overnight.
- Sarah (9/5): - There was no breakfast. It was all good.

- strigoica (9/5): Close to the ferry, and good for walking around town - A very nice motel, from which we walked all the way to the other side of town, and also to the ferry. The ferry to Mackinac Island is literally 5 minutes on foot, which means we could safely park our car at the motel, visit the island and return in the evening to our room. It is also close to the famous smoked fish store, so all we wanted was nearby. They provide fresh coffee in the morning, a nice touch.
- Kande (7/5): - Well located to what we were doing. It was comfortable and the staff was nice. We stayed two nights and enjoyed our stay We do not think it was used for a while as it needed some vacuuming.
- Sadie (10/5): Clean, friendly, nice reasonable rooms - It was clean and everyone was very friendly! You can see they are making updates as well. Very nice reasonable room Nothing
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Allen (8/5): - We have stayed before and staff is very personable!! Room could be a little more updated,, but all in all nice .
- Sharon (8/5): Location was perfect - Friendly accommodating staff and location was fabulous. View fabulous Walked over to ferry A bit dated but great value
- Laura (7/5): - Where it was located! It was cleean and comfortable, but it was just an average Joe type of place. .. nothing special.
- Qi (10/5): -
- Linda (3/5): Do not stay here!! - Right next to the ferry. Carpet was dirty, blankets were worn and didn’t smell fresh, bed was NOT comfortable.
- Charles (8/5): Overall good value. We enjoyed our stay - The location was conveniently located within walking distance of many things. The room was clean and comfortable. Even though the location was convenient, there was not much of any view. I was a bit upset that the ice machine was winterized the second day we were there without any warning. We live on the gulf coast so that’s something we never thought about.
- Michele (8/5): - Cute pace, good location, great staff The toilet is tiny
- kim (5/5): The place is ok if you’re just gonna stay one night!! - The bed was very comfortable and the staff was super nice The rooms are very musty and they need new carpet really bad
- Charlene (8/5): -
- Katrin (7/5): - Gute Lage, schnelle Anbindung in alle Richtungen und somit alles vor der Tür.
Zimmer war sauber und hatte fast alles was man braucht (Ein Fön wäre super gewesen)
- Wesley (9/5): -
- William (8/5): A good value, lower cost hotel with a great loacation. - The cost. It's a basic motel in a great location. It's good value at the price I paid. Nothing great but well-kept for an older facility, Some sort of basic breakfast? Also the toilet did not work very well.
- Beverly (9/5): This is an independently owned and operated motel run very well. It was clean. Staff were friendly. I’d highly recommend - Independently owned small motel run very well.
- Jason (8/5): - Located directly next to Sheplers ferry (save on parking). Clean, classic UP motel. Good size room. Good value. Tub could use a little attention, but completely usable.
- Brenna (10/5): Great spot in a great location! - Friendly staff, easy check in, cute space, good amenities in the room It was very cold when we arrived and there was only a thin comforter on the bed. I wish the heat would have been on before our arrival.
- Dan (7/5): -
- Bowman (10/5): I will continue coming back to stay here - Location
Cleanliness
Staff was super friendly and helpful Nothing
- davina (10/5): We went to the semi show and it was walking distance to downtown - Central location Nothing friendly staff
- David (3/5): An old motel with a fresh coat of paint and not much else. - The Staff was friendly.
The faucets, sink and counter had been updated.
The mattress was newer but seemed extra firm.
Recently painted walls. The room was very small with sparse furnishings (A bed with 2 tiny night stands, one chair and a cabinet with three drawers that held the refrigerator, microwave and TV).There was no closet to hang clothes, not even a hook on the way. The heater in the room is very old - when you turned it on it over heated the room then would not cycle again for almost 2 hours allowing the room to become cold. The hot water was barely hot enough to take a shower. There was no WIFI. The TV had very limited channel selection consisting mostly of shopping channels, very old rerun and no local or network channels. Old repainted furniture. Few available electric plugs. The microwave was less than an inch off the floor in a confined space making it difficult to use. The refrigerator was tiny. Repairs in the bathroom were amateurish (very poor caulking, peel and stick floor tile with gaps between the tiles, ancient green tub and the tub tile was cracked and had mildew.
- Atvrocket (8/5): - Great location. Nice staff. Was overall a good stay Shower pressure was lacking and cost for 1 night seemed a bit much.
- Francisca (10/5): -
- Ashley (9/5): - Location, comfortable room and friendly staff. Only complaints would be no outlets in the bathroom and the toilets are pretty low sitting.
- Ronda (10/5): - Nice, clean room!
- Kevin (5/5): ok but not great. clean but a lot of potential not being used. - Listing on website misleading. No real lake views, large building blocked them, Also no privacy or light blocking window treatmnets! Store bought curtains were in adequite. Also microwave on the floor kind of strange.
- RiChO (10/5): We enjoyed our stay, and the staff was awesome! - Peaceful and clean. The shower wall is falling apart in #4
- Darlene (7/5): - Very clean. Enjoyed the fireworks! Beds were comfortable. You can’t beat it for the price. We were very happy with our stay!
- Aaron (8/5): -
- Cindy (10/5): -
- Randall (9/5): -
- Robert (8/5): - Location.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - . I have a bad back, and they had one of the most comfortable matters I've slept on. Also, the stuff was very nice and helpful Nothing
- Joann (5/5): There are better options in St Ignace - Close to Ferry to Mackinac Island Had to argue with staff to get the room I reserved through booking.com. I even had confirmation with a photo
- Abigail (6/5): Pleasant -
- Stephanie (6/5): Pleasant -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beth (7/5): We have stayed there many times.was surprised but final cost $ -
- Anita (8/5): A great stay & location to tour the area. - Great location - access to ferry and walkable to local restaurants (if you like walking). Room was clean and comfortable bed. Staff excellent. Nothing really. We are early risers so coffee available at 6:30 would have been lovely.
- Mary (8/5): Very good - The room was nest and clean. Bed was very comfortable and the bed was made up each day when we came back after our day out. Always fresh towels too. The first night we didn't sleep much because it was toomuch light in our room. Curtains were not black out type. We did ask for a blanket to put up over the windows. They were accommodating and gave us a blanket. That really helped and the following two nights were fine.
- Kerr (2/5): Very poor - My wife left a necklace in the room and the staff of the hotel called us about two hours later, telling us that they had found it and they would mail it to us. After several phone calls, the hotel sent us an envelope which was empty. We called them but they claimed that they had sent the necklace along. The envelope from the post office had not been tampered with. In our several conversations with them, the story changed with what had happened to the necklace I would never recommend this property to anyone.
- Kimberly (8/5): Perfect little hotel for a nice get away in the perfect location. - I loved the location of the hotel. It was right where I needed it to be, which was close to everything. There are several other options around that area but I found that this hotel offered the better price for your money. It is close to the dock so you can go to the island if you wish and it is right on the main drag so there's nothing you can't get to. It is an "old school" hotel meaning that the doors use keys, no wi-fi, and no outlets in the bathroom. But those were my only "complaints" which aren't really complaints they are more like inconveniences.
- Melinda (7/5): Old property, but updated - Clean. Comfortable bed. Dated. No hair dryer.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - The mattress was like my own! I didn't wake up hurting. Nothing
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lee (10/5): Great place for a short stay along the journey. - Great location to walk to marina. Bed comfortable, staff loved, older facilities but maintained. Older bathroom with obvious newer upgrade/updates made, clean and spacious. Only noticeable improvement would be to correct the very small amount of visible mildew along caulking. Easy fix!
- Russo (5/5): Passable -
- Zameel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheryl (8/5): Nice place - Very cute and cozy cottage/cabin feel. Location was wonderful, the management was super friendly and very helpful.
- Stacey (7/5): Good -
- Rodney (5/5): Passable - Bed was very comfortable. Clean. Outdated. Could use a bit of fixin up.
- Blow (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judi (8/5): Very good -
- Natalia (10/5): Will be staying again - Perfect spot close to the ferry docks. And fireworks that happen on the weekends!!
- Stephanie (10/5): Glad I found this place! - Great location, clean room, pet friendly, and great price.
- Amanda (10/5): Cute and affordable - Very clean friendly affordable and close to town Bed was a bit to hard for me but better than a wore down mattress. Great place
- James (1/5): Bad stay, rude staff - I dont like the property, staff is rude, location was in the back, no wifi, no hairdryer, the front desk person was rude, no lotion, no conditioner, just a shampoo and soap. First the staff was rude, property was in the back of the building dark, no hairdryer, no wifi .
- Sheryl (7/5): Good -
- Paul (10/5): perfect place to rest up for another days drive - very clean, quiet, just what we needed to make it thru to the next days drive of our trip
- Suellen (10/5): We’ll definitely rebook. Good value for the price. - Just up the hill from the ferry. Perfect location.
- Steve (6/5): A decent value for a short stay. - Great location to ferry terminal. Freshly painted and pretty clean. A few small maintenance items need attention: call around tub was peeling and moldy. Bed felt like a box spring with a pad on top.
- Tina (5/5): Will not be back. - Very close to the ferry docks and town center. Lumpy bed and musty smell. Older motel.
- Beth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juan (7/5): Good -
- Ronald (7/5): Clean, convenient and affordable - Location convenient. No breakfast. Coffee available in room.
Room was clean. No place to hang any clothing It’s an older motel which shows in the bathroom. Moisture takes a toll and hard to fix and keep it looking nice.
- Fuller (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (7/5): Good -
- Gordon (8/5): Very good - good location a little dated. Paying a premium for the location.
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - Quaint & quiet room. Very clean and welcoming staff. Pet friendly! Perfect for our overnight stay
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Cynthia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judith (10/5): Met expectations. - No breakfast.
Clean, quiet, adequate.
Old but nicely updated. Loved the retro aqua bath fixtures. Office and coffee available late and early. Pricey . More coffee and tea in room.
- Benjamin (10/5): Absolute perfection - It was absolutely perfect, the host were most gracious and accommodating.
- Guilherme (5/5): Passable -
- Eric (8/5): Wonderfully clean place close to ferries and restaurants. - I was within a close walking distance of the ferries and restaurants. It has free parking and was very clean. It did not have a good spot to eat anything and the bed kept sliding off the bed frame.
- Holly (3/5): Poor - Old coffee pod still in coffee pot
No fan in bathroom
No plug in in bathroom
- Esther (8/5): Very good - It was a great space within our budget and very clean. AND we got a fireworks show we did not expect over the water :) The microwave was in a strange location
- Alicia (7/5): Good -
- Jacobey (5/5): Staff was friendly and short walk to farry but room had a smell and wasn’t the cleanest - We liked how to it was so close to the farry so we could just walk there and we had a view of the water. It was also nice and quiet at night. It had an awful smell, no matter how much spray we sprayed we could not get rid of it, the bathroom smelled of pee and the carpet didn’t look very clean. There was also a weird moisture to the room because everything felt wet and damp. The pictures on there website make it look better than it really is, I definitely over paid for what it was
- Aaron (9/5): Superb -
- Martines (9/5): Superb - most comfortable bed ever very small bathroom
- Valla (10/5): Great value, clean, great view of the bay from the grounds - Very clean and cutely updated to a retro look. Watched the Saturday fireworks right from the priperty A breakfast would be nice.
- Nora (3/5): It was nasty - It was close to Mackinac Island The room smelled damp and we couldn’t bring our selves to sleep there.
- Jennifer (6/5): Ok - The location was nice just outside of the stores There was no plugs in the bathroom and only 2 in the whole room , made it hard to blow dry your hair and charge your phone
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
