And the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on - it has collapsed into the middle and should have been replaced long ago.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Small but very clean! - Good location close to bars, restaurants and Pere Lachaise. Electronic gate so you feel safe. Room is very small but well equipped and immaculate. Staff friendly. The walls are very thin and there is no air con so you have to leave windows open at night. So if you have noisy neighbours (as we did) then don’t expect to get much sleep.
- Grace (8/5): Small but good. - Pros: comfortable beds, cute safe and private courtyard behind a locked gate, walkable metro access, street market on Tuesday, secure entry, helpful front desk. Has a small kitchenette and refrigerator. Fans are provided and helped move air. Cons: very small room, even smaller bathroom and extremely small elevated shower making it difficult to use for any larger person. Luggage storage is available but in the open in the front office. Area becomes more lively and enjoyable at night. During the day it felt a little less welcoming. We found extra bathrooms and showers located in the courtyard.

- CÉCILE (8/5): Excellent hôtel, très contente ! - Une chambre single pour 3 nuits L'entrée se fait par un portail donnant sur l'allée privée de l'hôtel, Allée sur laquelle donnent les chambres... Donc question tranquillité c'est OK, je n'ai pas été dérangée par le bruit ! La chambre en elle-même est petite mais bien agencée, la kitchenette contient le minimum mais est bien pratique Seule la salle d'eau est vraiment petite, très étroite... Mais en même temps on est à Paris... La literie est ferme et confortable, et tout est très propre Il fait chaud... Un peu trop même, mais mieux vaut ça qu'avoir froid... Par contre, la réception WiFi n'est pas terrible..., et ma connexion via smartphone était largement meilleure alors que je n'étais qu'en 3G+ avec 2 barres... Mon avis général est que je suis contente de mon séjour et reviendrai à l'occasion...
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Experience - Many cafes and restaurants nearby. Great access to metro and nice to have kitchenette for a multiple day stay. Windows open out in to courtyard and streets for nice and fan brought nice air flow. Felt as I was living like a local. Did not see an AC but did not need it as the weather was mild in the fall, would need to look into that if it is important to you.
- Daz (8/5): - By and large this was a good room. I will list the pros and cons and then an overall impression. Pros, it is near 2 subway stations, it is clean and contains a kitchenette, the bed is comfortable as are the pillows. The water is clean, the supply of crockery and cutlery is nice, the showerhead was great, as was the water pressure. Cons, parts of it are too small, you have sit sit sideways on the toilet, you have to be careful of elbows in the shower, the stairs are very narrow, the proximity tag worked on the second go, on the front door, one time,and I thought I had won the lottery. The wifi is shaky. Overall, the place is good if somewhat small in a few places. I had a hard time getting a suitcase up the narrow stairs and walking up and down them with large feet, requires patience. The staff were helpful.

- Paul (8/5): Clean and comfortable, but small. - Paris is rather like London inasmuch as hotels tend to be extremely expensive, so it's difficult to find somewhere decent to stay even at £100 or so per night .L'Horloge is tucked away in a quiet side street not too far from Republique, but away from the main tourist areas. We went to see an exhibition at Ateliers des Lumieres which is nearby. Plenty of Metro stations close by as well. The main downside of the hotel is that the rooms are small. The double bed is right against the wall so one person has a bit of clambering to do. Unusually, the rooms are equipped with a fridge, microwave, double hob and crockery and cutlery as well as a coffee machine and a kettle. Worth noting though that they only provide one coffee pod, one tea bag, one lemon tea bag and no milk! Fortunately supermarkets aren't far away! The shower works well, but is small. The bed is comfortable, so if you can put up with the limited space, then it's a decent place to stay if you just need a good sleep and a shower in the morning. They offer a basic breakfast tray for 12Euros, but I would recommend going to one of the many restaurants/bistros nearby where the same thing is onle 8Euros! Alternatively there are plenty of artisan boulangeries within a 5 minute walk. There is much to see in this part of the city and the main tourist areas are only a 15 minute walk, so, overall, yes I would recommend the hotel in this price bracket, but with a few reservations.

- Oleg (10/5): Good stay - Excellent a little tiny hotel in Paris! Very clan and well equipped. Two subway stations near by, bakery right on the corner, staff was friendly and accommodating.

Hotel room is small but efficient. No A/C which is to be expected at this price point but a good fan. Only request would be for free coffee pods and garbage removal each day.

I was told upon arrival by manager that we got room upgrade, but when i asked for different room on first floor, manager said " we are booked" So i got the only room available, no upgrade! Acceptable for 2 star hotel but $437.00 for 4 nights is little expansive.

- Verified traveler (10/5): A perfect home away from home - From the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, to the perfectly comfortable room with a great show, this hotel was perfect for a near week stay. Located down a quite passage off a main Boulevard, so many things are walkable. Cafes and restaurants over on Oberkampf. Several metro stations in either direction. Oh, and a delightful set of fromagerie, patisierrie, and cafes are less than five minutes walk. Key points are definitely the helpful staff, comfy bed, oh and the amazing shower head (cannot say this enough). We will definitely stay here again.

Cheap eats n a few craft beers spots nearby. Some parts may be too gritty for orhers. Also, I couldn't sleep in after late nights out as housekeeping and the workers were busy in earshot of my room. And wi-fi was funny - could only have it one device.

- KC (10/5): Best deal in Paris - For under $100 a night, this is the best. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. Two minute walk to the Metro which takes you anywhere in Paris. Five minute walk to Pete Lachaise Cemetary, the most visited place in Paris.

- Marco (8/5): Good hotel to visit Paris - Clean, new, close to the metro, gentle staff, good area. Only advice for the hotel, the door and the windows weren't soundproofing and we could hear clearly every one walking outside the room. Fortunately outside the room there was a private court with no access by cars so it was a little issue. Overall I recommend the hotel and if I'll go again to Paris I would surely stay at this hotel.
- Carmel (6/5): Close to transport and markets. - A good base to see all of Paris from Versailles and Montmartre to Paris Disneyland. I would recommend a downstairs room as the outside staircase was a hazzard for some guests.

- Hoda (8/5): nice stay - The room was clean and cozy with a small kitchenette that I loved. There was enough dishes to use for 2 people. However, the bathroom was too small for my boyfriend and he had trouble fitting in! The staff were friendly and nice. One of them could speak English which was great! The neighborhood looks a bit rough but we had no problem. The subway/metro station is very close to the hotel and very convenient. The WiFi was awful.
- Ringo (10/5): Clean and convenient - The hotel room is clean, cozy, and inexpensive. The location is convenient if one is willing to use Paris metro system. Menilmontant station of Line 2 train is just three-minute walking distance away. The staff members are friendly.

- Kiley (4/5): Stay Elsewhere - Hotel is very far from Paris central and difficult to find. Staff does NOT speak English or even offer maps upon check in. (they are in the office but I did not know that until checkout). Being so far out with no one to help you was frustrating and resulted in me getting lost. Hotel has exterior door, can be very loud throughout the night, and as a solo female traveler I did not feel safe. Bathroom was tiny and freezing. Would not recommend and would not stay there again.
- Christopher (10/5): Perfect for my needs - A very pleasant experience. The room was small but very clean. The bathroom and kitchenette were well stocked. The staff was warm and responsive. The street was quiet and the building very secure.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Paris Apt. - The apt. was convenient to the Metro station. The room was very clean with daily housekeeping. It appeared to be recently remodeled.
- Douglas (6/5): Nightmare in Paris. - Unfortuately it was not good. Firstly it was hard to find. They have a gated courtyard on a one way street. The only sign is on the inside wall facing up the street, so you cannot see it unless you got lucky or walked back down the street. There is no onsite parking so we parked on the street and informed them of that. Unfortunately they failed to inform us the on Sunday night they tow away all cars parked on the main street for the Monday farmers market. So, we missed our flight and after all was said and done it cost us over $500 in fees and expenses.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - I had a good experience in this hotel, it is very close to tube station and the hotel staff are always ready to help you. It is one more or less half an hour of the main tourist points. The only problem is that they don`t have breakfast. it would be very good.
- David (10/5): Best Trip Ever! - The apartment was absolutely perfect.The room was so clean and fresh when we arrived, the sun shining in the window. Was worried the hob wouldn't work very well because I've been in a few that didn't really work, but this one worked without a bother. The receptionist was so helpful and friendly, she helped us with every query we had. The set up of the hotel is brilliant as it is such a lovely set of apartments which were peaceful and quiet. A very short walk to the metro was so handy as we got the 3 day pass for this so used it to travel all over Paris in minutes. We stayed 2 nights and after our first night we went out exploring the city the following day and returned to find the room had been cleaned, which was a lovely touch. The area of Menilmontant is a beautiful place with loads of places to go for a meal. Overall I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough, and when we return we will without doubt be returning to Hotel de l'Horloge!

- Lewis (6/5): Paris vacation - room was very small and having travelled extensively in the past, I found the first hotel that had no air conditioning. Isabelle from the office was very helpful with planning our itinerary ( We had the Paris Pass, but needed help with the best way to find certain locations). Luckily however my wife spoke some French as she (Isabelle) could speak French, Portugese and Spanish but no English.
- Summer (6/5): Fine for a simple night's stay - This hotel is basic and in a less-touristy part of Paris; we stayed at this location because we wanted to visit the Pierre Le Chase cemetery and it is within walking distance. The hotel is located on a side street off of a main road so access was easy, but the location was not as desirable as the other places we'd visited in Paris. The staff was friendly and available, however, and the rooms, while small, were comfortable and clean.
- Anne (8/5): Excellent apartment, but surrounding area just ok. - This property used to be an old fire mans residence in Napoleonic era. They have fixed it up well. We really enjoyed this property because it had such a great planned out space. It was very clean and had everything you needed in the kitchen. Even sugar, tea, coffee and dish washing soap. Lots of cupboard space everywhere. They supplied clean towels and cleaned up your apartment every day. Lots of soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in the bathroom as well.

- Jonathan (8/5): Hôtel de L'Horloge - Spent a long weekend in Paris and stayed here for the first time, I've stayed in the neighbourhood before but never this hotel. It's very unique with each room accessible from a central courtyard. Access to the courtyard is via secure gate. All staff were super nice and could not have been more helpful. Our room was well equipped with a small bathroom and a kitchenette with all necessary items. Room was not too big, but just what was needed for two people. No AC, so if it got too warm this could be a little uncomfortable. The neighbourhood is great, plenty of bars & restaurants but not too much, plus grocers and bakers. It's a good mix of locals, immigrants & tourists. We felt safe at all times. Easy walk to/from the Metro stations and a nice stroll to the Père Lachaise Cemetery I would recommend this hotel, and plan to return if my travels take me back.

It was more compact that we had been used to but not to the extent of being uncomfortable. We would walk to two different Metro lines with ease. We loved the experience.

- JGM (10/5): Hotel L'Horloge - Menilmontant - This was our second visit to Paris and we wanted to explore more of the city. We like to explore the whole area not just the main tourist places. The studio room was ideal for us as we only really need somewhere as a base.Providing our own breakfast and snacks suits us and the provision of a kettle, microwave and fridge was very welcome. Quite amazing how they managed to fit everything into a small space. Although just off the main street the Hotel was quiet. The gated entrance made it feel secure. The windows could be opened wide. The room was tidied and cleaned every day. It was nice to come back after a long day to a clean and tidy room. We had two very good meals at Du Lycee. There are a number of different places to eat and several different food shops, some of which seemed to always be open! We used Menilmontant Metro station - there are 2 others in easy reach. We found it a good place to be based to explore the city. We had a very enjoyable 5 days in Paris. We covered a lot of mileage both on foot and by Metro. After we had checked out we were able to leave our luggage until later in the day.

- Helen (4/5): What we thought of are stay!!!! - The location for being close to grocers and restaurants are good, metro not far, staff very good, apartment clean, BUT washroom so small anyone a little over 180 lbs would have trouble getting in and out of the shower and any washing there of hands or teeth in washroom without opening the door is not an easy task. The wall unfortunately I think that they are maybe in cardboard also,Noise level very high. But we survived are 4 night stay and was happy to leave. It was also unfortunate that they were redoing there office so from 8:00 till 5:00 there was cutting of ceramic. It also is on a one way street and you would think less traffic but I'm not sure if it not one small main street from one section to another section?
- David (8/5): Nice place - Although my room was tiny you will not find a cleaner place anywhere. The staff, particularly Jessica, were outstanding. The neighborhood was fantastic, and Metro service right around the corner. But, like so many hotels, the wifi was very poor. I was always getting dropped and when I had a connection it was very slow. If you want a taste of a wonderful Paris neighborhood and internet is not all that important-- stay here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Paris Experience. - Clean and Comfortable room. Very friendly staff members. The hotel is very close to a metro station which takes you everywhere. A laundry down the road, one of the best croissants I tasted at the bakery just at the top of the street. If you are in Paris to do things and see things and you don't care about the decor of your hotel room, this is a good place to stay. And you are close to things that most tourists won't get to do if you are there for a short time like Pere Lachaise Cemetery, Edith Piaf museum etc. I would recommend it.
