Good breakfast with a reasonable choice. Would have liked to be able to get a pot of tea at breakfast, but that wasnât possible and greater choice of fresh fruit wouldâve been nice other than just bananas

Enjoyable breakfast. Credit to staff dealing with fire alarm going off. Rooms looking dated and in need of refresh. Fire alarm going off at 10.45pm which involved standing out in the light rain in Howard Square for twenty minutes.

- Grant (10/5): Head and shoulders the best hotel in Eastbourne bar none. - Fairly modern hotel which is almost unique in Eastbourne. Spotlessly clean. Plenty of staff all friendly and helpful. The only tiny fault would be a lack of plug sockets in the room (still 3 though).

I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast as although the cooked breakfast was good, the cereal bar was limited and not particularly healthy. I would have expected muesli, nuts, seeds and dried fruit as an option, considering its a 4 star hotel.

Bed a bit small & had bit of a dip in the middle. Toilet really hard to flush. Room smaller than expected. There is a fake website for the View hotel - they quote the same prices but add on massive taxes & charges.

The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly Very surprised not having a statutory bottle of water in the room! A few niceties like a box of tissues and bathroom goodies wouldnât go amiss. Slamming doors around us all evening and at 1am woke us up. Soft close doors please

The various rooms weâve had both as a couple and on my own have been wonderful and lucky enough to have a sea view at times . Food especially breakfast is wonderful. Staff on all occasions have been friendly and helpful- especially Scott in the ground floor bar and restaurant. N/A
- Alison (8/5): I always feel comfortable and safe when staying at The View - The room was quiet and view good Pillows rather hard and not very comfortable. The lighting in the Ladies toilet on the ground floor is terrible, its like a nightclub, can't see anything. The noisy 'music' during breakfast completely spoils the lovely breakfast in a beautiful room. Why is it necessary and who enjoys noise at breakfast? Totally unnecessary in my opinion.

The view from the breakfast restaurant is fantastic - beautiful sea views and watching the sun rise over the water. My room had everything I needed and the bed was very comfortable, Accessibility to the hotel entrance was problematic for me as I have a stiff back, and the time I stayed was particularly windy, thus making the outer stairs tricky.

- Julie Arnold (9/5): Excellent Hotel in an excellent location at a good price - From the outside the building looks a bit dated in places but inside - completely different! Really well designed and excellent layout and very clean. Staff are really friendly and welcoming too. Our room was a sea 'side view' but it had a really good full view with a little balcony. Again really clean, fantastically comfortable bed and well laid out bathroom. Breakfast was good too with lots of choice. Will definitely stay again next time we visit Eastbourne. Nothing.
