Guest Reviews
- Karen (10/5): - Great view of Roche Perce from our room and sunset view.
Room great size for 2 people.
- Thamilselvan (10/5): - If we have time to go again. I will go sure
- Colin (10/5): - All was very good and employees friendly.
- Gary (10/5): - Stayed 2 days. Wonderful location with professional staff and great water & Perce rock views. Downtown has many restaurants & tourist shopping & a boardwalk along the ocean..
- Thomas (8/5): - Clean, comfortable rooms with friendly staff. Restaurant could have at least one vegetarian option.
- Victoria (6/5): - The staff were less than friendly…..we stood waiting for several minutes to check in while they chatted to each other.
- Suzanne (8/5): - The location overlooking the "rock" is hard to beat. Kudos to Nicole for great service and advice. It's old the floors are not level and they squeak, bathroom door wouldn't shut, toilet seat (my pet peeve) was falling off, virtually no sound insulation ergo if you talked about it your neighbour heard it, but with all that yeah, we'd stay again.
- mary (6/5): - We arrived expecting the restaurant to be open....it wasn't....hearing your neighbours on both sides....not cool....using a flat sheet for a bottom sheet with 'barely' a mattress cover...is not smart.....it was a long uncomfortable night....the view was fantastic....
- Gaston (6/5): - Property needs updating
There was an odor in the room
Was not cleaned properly
- Dijana (10/5): - This property must be chosen for the view alone. One can see the Perce Roche is all its glory right from the balcony of their room. You can't ask for anything better. A must stay when vising Perce.
- Chantal (8/5): - Perched atop the hill above town, this is the best place to capture photos of Le rocher Percé. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and comfortable. The staff is lovely and helpful as well.
- Sharon (8/5): - Great view
- Claude (10/5): - Je recommande fortement
- Louise (8/5): - The room was basic, missing the luxury that you would expect for the price paid but I guess the view makes up for it, because it is spectacular. The food at the restaurant was very very good although on the pricy side. Over hall we enjoyed it.
- Lin (10/5): - Perfectly located, welcoming staff, and clean, roomy accommodations.
- MANON (10/5): - It was very nice
- Sam-chin (8/5): - Good breakfast with terrific views.
- Thutrang (6/5): - The woman at the reception (morning 8am 29 Jul 2025) was very rude and provided an irrespectable attitude to us. We were walking to the breakfast area and were pulled back by her. She asked for our room number, and we provided her accordingly. She kept saying "It is not possible" 5 times to my face that we had breakfast with our room booking. She did not bother to check the fact that we already reserved for the breakfast and paid for it. I understand that she wanted to mean that breakfast is supplementary and we have to pay. But the way she skept saying to us that "C'est pas possible" (well obviously it is possible if we reserved and paid) very rudely. She refused to let us in at first, until I insisted that she checked and she found that it was paid. She literally did not say any apology for that wrong direction that we were not allowed to have breakfast. It makes us feel so pissed that we look like we cannot pay for the breakfast (as there was another guest standing at the counter, she said out loud like she wanted to make us fell embarrassed that we should not go to that area at first). Anyway, the hotel room is very nice, view is excellent but even our kid said that this was the worst hotel we have been so far because she also felt the same disturbing attitude from that woman.
- carol (4/5): - i splurged because the photos appeared to present a property too hard to resist. save your $ and go to a better, lower priced hotel. the view is outstanding in all areas of Perce
- David (8/5): Weekend de couple - Chambre propre, bien que peu rénovée. Lit très dur. Serviettes propres peu disponibles.
La vue était spectaculaire! Probablement la meilleure à Percé
- John Patrick (10/5): - Lovely spot, will return
- Patrick (8/5): - Beaitiful view of the rock and island in the bay
- Virginia (8/5): - The hotel is old, but its clean. The view is just amazing
- Clayton (8/5): - Nice hotel
- eric (10/5): - Awesome the view is awesome and the room and bed comfortable
- Linda (6/5): - While the view was beautiful there were some things that we were not impressed by. The hotel/motel and furniture is older which is fine and we were expecting that. There was no toilet paper in our room and even no dispenser in the bathroom at all. We had to go and ask for toilet paper and while doing so someone else was doing the same. No apologies were offered and we felt that we were imposing by even asking for some. The mattress was horrible and sunken in the middle so neither of us slept well. The coffee was of a very cheap quality and not drinkable. We had not made reservations for dinner anywhere so decided to eat at the Belvedere restaurant which is attached to the property. We found the portions very small and overpriced. The person at reception made no attempt to speak to us in English.
- Bai (8/5): - I woke up because of neighbor’s alarm… others are excellent.
- Jason (10/5): - Pleasently surprised by the hotels amazing breakfast and after arriving late after working at a clients site for the day the view in the morning absolutley blew me away.
- Gilbert (8/5): - Good and nice staff, good and clean room but when i remember breakfast was supposed to be free ,kitchen was not open
- Coree (10/5): - Easy check in, friendly, and great views: sunrise & sunset are spectacular.
- Antoine (6/5): - Great view of Perce Rock
- Robin (6/5): - Room dated. Wood ceilings and walls. Ice only available from front desk, closes at 9pm.
Excess to room via outside steep wooden stair case.
- Martin (10/5): - The view!!
The staffs!
- Icon (10/5): - Nice and spacious facility
- Janet (8/5): - Excellent view
Friendly helpful staff
Very poor wifi
- Carol (10/5): Excellent option with a great view - The room was quaint and comfortable and clean. The view was excellent, especially considering the hotel is a little off the beaten path. The breakfast was good, dinner was excellent. Very satisfied.
- kevin (10/5): - Very helpful staff
- Sandra (8/5): - This property was lovely as were the owner /operator's. We had a beautiful meal in the restaurant. I especially loved the bed linen’s, nice crisp white sheets. My only concern was I couldn’t get the keurig to work. Great view of Percé Rock!
- Wei (10/5): - beautiful view
- Blondine (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay.
- Ronald (10/5): - Awesome Room/Awesome View
- Melanie (10/5): - We loved dinner but the breakfast buffet was a disappointment.
- Claude (8/5): - good for the price but could use a bit more sound proofing
- Mohammad (6/5): - good
- Yevgeniy (10/5): - 👍
- Natasha (10/5): - It's a really lovely place with a great view and the staff are lovely. It's a little bit of a walk to town but easily walkable.
- Avishek (10/5): Loved our stay and the views - Great hotel with nice sized rooms. A little pricy. But I guess thats what you pay of the amazing views of the bay and pence rock from the balcony. The checkin process was smooth and person at the reception was pleasant and helpful. We could park our car right outside the room (our room was on the ground floor)
- Yoko (10/5): - The view from this hotel was breathtaking.
- John (10/5): - The view of Perce Rock and Bonaventure Island is incredible. We enjoyed the food from the dining room. We did not feel like walking into town from this location, but it woukd be possible. The rooms are simple but were perfect to our needs.
- David (10/5): - Great room, good restaurant, fantastic view
- David (10/5): - Quaint...incredible views.
- Jean Sebastien (6/5): - Insonorisation laisse a désirez...
- veronica (10/5): - Everything
- Faisal (10/5): - Breathtaking Oceanview was beautiful.
Did not like the sink was not clearing properly.
- Lynn (8/5): - Older property but amazing views and great staff. Restaurant overlooking water and food was amazing
- Stephen (10/5): - Amazing view and fantastic hotel! Best place to stay!
- Janik (8/5): - L'emplacement est correct pour la vue et tout, mais on entend très bien les gens a coter quand tes dans ta chambre!
- Olivia (4/5): - Rude staff, long time waiting at the front desk, overpriced, disgusting coffee and we could hear our neighbours snore!
- Pierre (6/5): - It was well place. Nice view. Food is good. But carpet in the room. Not a good choice
- Eric (10/5): - Beautiful rustic look with little upper deck looking directly at the Rocher Percé
- Wes (4/5): - The Rooms were great the view was awesome. But the bar was not available for opening due to no waiters and the price you gave was not even right
- Jerome (6/5): - Under average. Overpriced. But the view is nice.
- Nadia (10/5): - Beautiful place with a magnifique view of the Roché Percé. Good price and super clean and cozy. Will definitely go again.
- Celine (8/5): - Wonderful view of Perce rock
- Filip (10/5): - beautiful view
- youngsung (6/5): - good food
- andre (6/5): - great view
- Lyn (6/5): - The hotel is clean and has a fantastic view of Percé Rock. The staff were pleasant. A few things to be aware of the rooms are dated and beds are not comfortable, there is no restaurant onsite (even tho website says there is), the pub/lounge only serves two kinds of beer and nothing else nor is there any food served, ice is provided by the staff so only available when reception is open (7am to 9pm), no ventilation in the bathrooms,
- Marc (10/5): - Such a lovely property with beautiful views of the Perce rock. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The location was perfect and close to town. Excellent hotel!
- Hyung S (10/5): - 깨끗하고 위치가 최고...
- jean (10/5): - Good place
- Paul (6/5): - It’s an older place. Floors were uneven in our room.
- Felice (6/5): - Bery nice place but it just needs some updating. Very old
- Nathalie (10/5): - The place is awesome. Totally.
- Michel (10/5): - Incredible view from the room and the loft in the room
- Jerry (10/5): - Highly recommended
- Krys (8/5): - It was an older motel. Smells and very outdated Other then that staff was excellent. Upset that there is no breakfast considering they advertise breakfast every morning
- Mike (6/5): - Great view of the town below and of Percé rock.
The staff were not overly friendly. Getting creamers for room coffee maker was impossible as it seemed too much of an effort for them . No after hours ability to get ice.
- Mythri (10/5): - Beautiful stay with a beautiful unobstructed view
- Johanne (10/5): - Depuis notre fenêtre du balcon vue superbe du rocher percé
- Jethro (8/5): - Amazing view
- Lei (10/5): - good view and large room.
- Donna (8/5): - Friendly staff ,clean comfortable room, great view.
- Ian (8/5): - Liked it was just out of town - quiet - the town Iway to busy for my liking and too much souvenir shop style places. The town is full of in town camping and over run. The locals beach for putting in boats was awesome and a great experience paddling out to Perce Rock.
- Chris (6/5): - For the price it would have be nice to have a balcony and a free breakfast in the morning! I need have a nice view with a wide window! Got in at 3 va 4!
- Tim (10/5): - Beautiful spot, close to some amazing sites. Great location and views.
- RongFang (10/5): - Facind the perce rock, very cool
- Bo (6/5): - Great view of the rock, and nice structure of the room. However, the coffee machine is dirty, and the bathroom has no ventilation. Overall, it seems to be an old motel but pricy in summer.
- Emily (10/5): - Beautiful spot to stay
- Raymonde (8/5): - Clean and spacious room
Convenient location
Window view to the perce rock.
Very good breakfast included.
No Fan in bathroom
No documentation in room about hotel or anything else.
Appeared to be short of staff.
Restaurant only open for breakfast.
- Tim (6/5): - The view and the staff are the real selling features of this hotel. It's hard to beat the view, when it isn't foggy and the staff, in particular those who help with breakfast were wonderful. The food was also delicious and exactly what you want before a day of adventuring. The room itself was fine. One of the beds had some springs that made it a bit uncomfortable and the bathroom could use some upgrades, but overall we had a great time.
- Jonathan (4/5): - Felt dusty and dirty carpets.
- Xiao Ming (10/5): - Very clean!
- Luis (8/5): - Even for a very touristic place overpriced facility
- carole (10/5): - Lovely property, spacious rooms, best view of Roche Percé and Bonaventure from a loft area in room, great breakfast buffet at a good price. Everything was awesome! Thank you Motel La Cote Surprise!
- Nola (4/5): - Staff was very helpful and friendly.
We had cob webs in our room, we were on the second floor and the stairs going up were not sturdy.
- liqin (10/5): - breakfast is expensive
- Michel (8/5): - Pas isoler pour le son me suit fais marcher sur la tete tout la nuit mais tres belle vue du rocher percer
