• Noor Shakinah (10/5): I wouldddddd recommend others to come here please :) - I loved everything about the place. The parking for guests was convenient, easy and safe to be accessed. You just need to pay a one-time fee of RM5 and it will be free the rest of the stay. As you enter the lobby, the ambience, the smell was so pleasant, we wanted to find out so much what they used 😁 the rooms were sufficiently pleasant. Not too luxurious but just enough, i love the color blue which still gave the rich look (this is just my personal view! I’ve been to other renown hotels that had much older decos). Toilets were clean, breakfast was great and the staff were all superbly helpful and polite. None!

• Ummi Khalthom Binti (10/5): A comfortable, warm, and well‑located stay made even better by genuinely lovely staff. - I had a really pleasant stay at Royale Chulan Penang. The room was clean, comfortable, and cosy, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I especially appreciated the receptionist who patiently assisted my mom while she bought a whole bunch of hotel merchandise — and even surprised us with complimentary candies. Such a thoughtful gesture. The breakfast ambience was lovely, with a great selection of food, and the kuey teow goreng on my first morning was amazing. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the ferry terminal, Padang Kota, and plenty of cafés and restaurants. For a 4‑star hotel, the value was fantastic — I paid under RM250 per night with breakfast included. Even though I didn’t explore much due to work, the warm hospitality from every staff member made the stay memorable. I’d definitely return.

• Serena (9/5): Very great and central location to access Penang. - Check in was easy and the staff at the hotel are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are of good quality and so is the bathroom (superior king bed room). Breakfast was very nice. Intercontinental style breakfast. They variety was good there were some Malay food options too such as roti and nasi lemak. Would definitely recommend as the location is walkable to most attractions in the city. It’s not a noisy area at all and would definitely come again! Nothing

Big and Comfy double bed 4. Central Area Transit CAT (FREE BUS) is available near the Hotel. It sends you to Komtar (Shopping Mall and Central Bus Terminus). It's a circular service. 5. Direct Public Bus Route 401E from the Airport (about 1 hr travel time) to Jetty has a stop outside the Hotel [MYR 2.7 in Apr2026] 6. Good Air-Con 7. Strong Water Pressure for Bathing 1. Deposit MYR200 is deemed unnecessary given Full Rate was paid!!! 2. Few hanging facilities inside the bathroom 3. Only 4 hangers in the wardrobe are available by default. Need to ask for more if required 4. Location: Near Jetty but need to walk 5 mins 5. Main Entrance is far from Main Road 6. TV Model is considered old 7. • JustJanS (10/5): One of the best hotels we've stayed in! - Check in was very simple. Our room was spacious and clean, had a view of the pool and the pier and was right by a seldom used lift (that was never noisy). Every staff member we encountered was friendly and those at the front desk went above and beyond with helping us whether it was booking a nail salon or trying to find a lost Grab driver who eventually cancelled on us! I was sad to leave this lovely hotel and would like to return some time. We have nothing to say here.

• Shankar (9/5): Royal hotel in historic Georgetown - Amazing heritage hotel, fantastic location in Georgetown within walking distance of the local sights. The room was great, suite with an extra bedroom was perfect for us. Bathrooms were spacious and well stocked. Breakfast variety was good. Didn't have any other meal there We were charged a 3RM per person local tax which was not mentioned in the website nor in the booking voucher. The reception showed me a local rule which maybe true but annoyed me that it was not mentioned anywhere.

• Igor (9/5): it was a pleasant stay and we would stay here again - The spacious room, comfortable beds although the pillows are to firm. We requested a softer pillows and they were a little bit better, just a little bit. We also requested the bath robes and they made our stay very comfortable. Clean linings, fluffy white towels, a faucet with the filtered water right is installed in the room, so not need to request water bottles. A complimentary tea, snacks, instant coffee. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A welcome drink was very refreshing. Hotel is strategically located, close to everything we wanted to visit. A gym could be a little bit better. A sanitizer spray should be provided to disinfect equipment. The yoga mats are very old and very dirty. The breakfast buffet has a lot of choices but not for the strict vegetarian/vegan. At least a better selection of the local fruits should be offered.

• 8484nikkid (10/5): Good hotel in good area - This is beautiful hotel close to many attractions like Little India, clan jetties and Armenian street. Malaysia is very hot and it’s a delight to walk through the doors after along day sightseeing. The cold air conditioning and delightful scent they have flowing through the hotel is a wonderful relief. Breakfast choices are huge ( though could do with some muesli ). They make their own croissants which are irresistible. Staff are helpful and friendly. We spent a couple hours at the pool each day which was a nice cool relief from the heat. I would choose to stay here again.
