The free breakfast every morning was also exceptional. I can't finish without mentioning William, who is a fantastic human and made our stay even brighter. Give that man a raise!

Pick a place that is more upbeat for night life. This spot is more for families and couples. But all and all very nice place to stay!!

The store in the hotel is incredibly expensive. In all honesty I would not stay here again due to the high cost per night. Only activity for kids is the pool. It rains a lot in Costa Rica, they should have inside activities for rainy days.

- Brent Clayton (4/5): - We recently visited Costa Rica for our honeymoon and absolutely loved the country. The people were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the resort itself was beautiful with great amenities. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made our stay enjoyable—at least when we were able to enjoy it. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by a serious case of food poisoning. On the very first night of our nine-day stay, I became violently ill after dining at the resort’s Mexican restaurant. I was sick for three days, and on the second day, my wife also fell ill from the food. We were extremely cautious with what we ate afterward, sticking to simple options, but even the breakfast buffet had issues—like butter that was clearly rancid. This was a rough and disappointing way to start what was meant to be a special trip. While we appreciated the resort’s setting and hospitality, food safety is a major concern, and we would urge management to take this seriously to prevent other guests from going through the same experience.

My major complaints were 1) we came before check in and they told us we could hang at the pool, however, they never gave us our bracelets to prove we were guests so we had security constantly coming to us and watching us. It made me feel uncomfortable. 2) the door to our room wasn’t working and didn’t lock. We didn’t even notice until the second day of our stay. Anybody could have entered our room at any time. On another note, there were 3 people that made our stay great. Gerald was very attentive and was always around to cater to us. William was our bartender and he was so much fun. And Sumbu is a great food and beverage director. I really enjoyed our conversations.

Towels were an issue for the guests, lastly I was stung by a scorpion in the middle of the night laying in my bed. Not sure how it got up to the 10th floor but I got stung. Called the front desk and they sent someone and took it away. No questions were asked about how I was doing from the venom, not even an ice pack. Won't be staying here again, they didn't even offer to comp a room for the discomfort of the scorpion. Luckily it stung me and not one of my kids...

Nevertheless the breakfast and food we did order was great and staff where overall ok. Some staff seem to be a little unreasonable, such as I was waiting for my sisters to come out. There was no one around during the time, but he wanted me to move and the only reason I was waiting there is because casino cashier was not where they were suppose to be. Was hard to get change for cash and pool bar tender was ready to go at 5:50 so don’t order a drink at that time cause we could tell the quality of the drink was terrible from that morning. Location is ok and only a $5 taxi drive to night life. Was able to get to ATV location from this area at a great cost as well. Ocean water was a little to rough to enjoy from this location and there is a RIP Current warning, but view of ocean was great.
