Guest Reviews
- Jill (10/5): Beautifully decorated rooms with wonderful sunrises over looked the lush green farmstead and mountains. - It was a refreshing stay in a delightfully beautiful working farm. We were greeted by gracious hosts and felt pampered. We should have had more than a one night stay.
- Bart (10/5): Fantastic 2 days and should have booked it for much longer.

- Stefan (10/5): -
- Romeo (9/5): A place for great home cooked food and a home away from home - Warm friendly and tranquil Nothing to dislike
- caron (10/5): Beautiful place to stay with amazing people and food. - The room was beautiful and fastidiously clean. The bed was comfortable and with beautiful linens and towels. The local owners take great care of the guests and their property. The breakfast was beyond amazing. They really take great pride in local products and ingredients, thoroughly enjoyed starting the day off in that amazing way. Thank you so much. Take earplugs there is the possibility you will hear a dog barking sporadically through the night outside of your room.
- Kimberly (10/5): Love love love! The hosts are kind and sociable, the farm house is secluded & comfortable - Peaceful, comfortable, clean, delicious breakfast & home cooked meals Road to the farm house was a little bumpy, but doable.
- Graham (10/5): Superb. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a typical Sicilian rural farmstay. - Everything from arrival to departure was perfect. Maria and Fabrizio are wonderful hosts and exceptional cooks. Dinner was spectacularly good, with our only regret that it wasn't available every night! Breakfast was truly historic. Easily the best spread that we had in Sicily and definitely in our top three from all our worldwide travels. One small issue with the bathroom 'flooding' after each shower, but really no major problem. The road up to the property is a bit challenging in terms of surface, but no more so than many off the beaten track locations in Sicily!
- Laura (10/5): Wonderful stay with passionate people - It’s such a wonderful place filled with passionate people who love their land and are sharing every bit of knowledge with you. Thank you so much for the sweet honeymoon attention, for the amazing grilled meat, the jasmine & handmade soaps, and the stunning breakfast. You made us feel home. We will be back! Everything was great :)
- Sabrina (10/5): Ein Traum!!!
- Dubrewicz (9/5): Wspaniały odpoczynek - Stylowe budynki, pyszne posiłki, miła atmosfera, swoboda Droga dojazdowa
- Ari (10/5): - Full of charm and warmth! Maria and Fabrizio made it even better. They took extra care about explaining everything! The food on the first night was to die for! The breakfast was awesome and included the freshly baked cakes and bread! It’s a pity there is no dinner service every night but we did find an amazing place to eat a mile down the hills on the SS113. On the day of our early departure, Maria made special arrangement for croissant, juice and coffee early in the morning ! Lovely gesture! We are already considering another stay sometime in the future.
Camera grande, decorata in modo molto bello.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Fantastic food, best night of sleep all trip and friendly hosts. - Quiet, beautiful and welcoming: we were made to feel at home.
- Don (10/5): - Maria and Fabrizio were wonderful. Their hospitality and authenticity made the stay exceptional. The pride that they shared regarding their culture and country was exceptional. While off the beaten path, the tranquility was welcomed after time in the cities; refreshing. The "home cooking" was extraordinary and satisfied our every wish for what great Italian cooking is to be. We'd book again with them without any question. The grounds were magnificent, and the accommodations were clean, beautiful and comfortable. Could not ask for anything better for our short stay in Sicily. We'll be back!
- Lori (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (10/5): A true foodies delight. Wonderful hosts - Maria and Fabrizio are wonderful hosts. Cuisine is excellent and so well thought. A foodies delight. I’m short. Please a lower mirror in the bedroom.
- Glenn (10/5): Exceptional - Slow time on a human scale. There is no artifice of creating an experience that is just-so or contrived to be elaborately perfect. Simple things done very well for the good of them being done that way. Excellent food, room and conversation. Relax and run with your stay, you are with people not staff. Such is life, as it is and as it can be.
- Chrysa (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful setting but you need a car to go to the beach.
- John (10/5): - One of the very best places we have stayed anyware in the Americas or Europee. Great breakfast. Wonderful people.
- Gareth (10/5): - Beautiful location, great views, locally sourced food and hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable! Breakfast is worth the visit alone…..superb stay!
- Thomas (10/5): Really lovely welcoming place with lovely people and just a super stay. Lush. - Beautiful place. Beautiful family. Really loved staying here and just had a lovely time. Would defiantly recommend and go again. Great great place. Fantastic breakfast! Loved the whole thing.
- Francesca (10/5): Exceptional - The management was great and super polite.
The room was big and comfortable
- World (10/5): Top tier agricultural B&B experience with incredible food. - Breakfast was amazing - over the top. Everything locally sourced. Maria's baked breakfast cakes were excellent. Fresh fruit, capicola, fresh mozzarella, fig cookies, fruit tarts, homemade marmalades, croissants - too much! Maria and Fabrizio were wonderful hosts. They enjoyed spending time with us, chatting about their lives and how they built the business. They genuinely wanted to ensure that all of our needs were being met and it was way more than we anticipated. They serve full dinners two nights each week and light dinners the rest of the week except on Mondays when they take an evening off. The "light" dinner included white wine, swordfish pasta with eggplant, pistachio gelato cake and an appetizer. Everything was great and authentic. We would like to return and will on our next trip to Sicily. Hidden gem just a short drive to/from Cefalu. A welcome respite from the city. Their olive oil is the best!
- Hadar (10/5): WOW - It has been a great place with unbelievable hospitality, great meals (dinner and breakfast).
And undoubtedly if we come again to Sicily we will try to book to this place.
- Juergen (10/5): heavenly food and comfort - Terre di Himera is a with impeccable taste renovated cottage home, the interior is amazing, the garden is lovely.
The very best of the place is the hosting couple, who care very nice for their guests. If possible, one should try to get the Sicilian dinner, that is served two times a week, it´s simply breathtaking!
The local products, that are also available, like extraordinarily fine cosmetic, olive oil and honey are perfect take-aways.
we were very happy in Himera, and would come back anytime! In comparison with similar offers in Sicily Terre di Himera seems to be slightly overpaid at first sight. But the warmth of the hosts and the outstanding food offer compensates that very well...
- Peter (10/5): - Everyone there made a big effort to welcome us
- Nora (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place, wonderful hosts, situated right between Cefalu and Palermo - we stayed two nights and had a lovely experience! Really warm welcome on arrival with snacks and drinks, and really enjoyed the breakfast. The full dinner is served on Wednesdays and Saturdays which we weren’t there for, but Maria made us a more casual meal of pasta and wine one night which was great.
- Jackie (9/5): Superb - Attention to detail and locally sourced breakfast items.
- Ashish (9/5): Definitely worth a try - Excellent experience
- Cristina (9/5): Superb -
- Melissa (10/5): Come experience it for yourself - Penning this when I’m not even done with my stay yet, so overwhelmed by the wholesomeness at the place. At dinner right now and the smell of firewood is comforting and the bread was made lovingly from scratch (and freshly made croissants the next morning). Maria and Fabrizo is the pretty much the dream team; passionate about Scillian produce (as fresh as it gets) and cooking. Also amazing choice of tunes to pair with the dinner (waltz of flowers is playing in the background). Honoured to be their first guests of the season and I’m crying that it’s over. many other great things but I shan’t ruin the surprise None
- Sabine (7/5): Good - The location in an olive grove, the breakfast The room was quite simple (e.g. no coffeemaker, fridge) with a mattress that was not fitting the bed. All would be fine, however not at the price of more than 175 Euro/night.
- Jenessa (10/5): Stay of a lifetime! - Hosts are incredible! If you want a truly traditional Sicilian meal, stay for their full dinners and light dinners. Everything they cook with is truly local!
Location is wonderful. Our favourite was walking along the gravel road and meeting all the other small farmers along their road. Skip touristy cefalu and ask host Maria for her recommendations on day trips. She knows what she is talking about! We had an amazing day trip following her recommendations to petrolia soprana.
Rooms are gorgeous and clean! They even put fresh jasmine flowers on your bed + linens. There is not a single detail missing. When you step outside your room you are surrounded by olives, figs, prickly pears and the most aromatic herb garden.
- Sheryl (10/5): The owners are so kind and gracious. Their culinary skills are off the charts! - It was so beautiful, quaint and peaceful The air conditioner’s did not work that well
- Bruce (10/5): Exceptional - Ow ers were super friendly and helpful. Breakfasts terrific. 5 course dinner out of this world. Wonderful time. Everything fine
- Martin (8/5): Beautiful farmhouse with an abundance of local produce - Beautiful agriturismo located in the hills near Cefalu. Property is impeccable with a wide variety of fruit trees and other vegetation. Host is very accommodating and promotes locally produced fresh produce. We were told our only option was a simple dinner (spaghetti) and the full tasting menu experience is only available on certain evenings. We were not aware of this until a few days before arrival which was a shame. Dinner was still very good. Breakfast was a little limited compared to other locations we stayed at.
- Brusca (10/5): If I had to make it up I couldn’t do better. - The owners and the staff were exceptional. The location was great to the beach and Cefalù. The breakfast and dinner were very good and lacked nothing. Very Sicilian. Don’t miss going if you have the opportunity. Very peaceful, with great views.
- Stephen (7/5): Amazing breakfast. Great to get away from the hustle and bustle. - Fantastic breakfast. Good to get away from the hustle and bustle and experience Sicilian countryside. Beds were a bit hard. Facilities a bit basic
- Barchiesi (9/5): Superb - Location was so serine and beautiful. Would definitely recommend!!
- Dianne (10/5): Maria and Fabtizio were the perfect hosts. Do not miss their home cooked Sicilian dinner. Check the day you book as th - An amazing property with ocean and mountain views. It was an easy 40 minute train ride into Palermo with coastal views along the way. But trust me you won’t want to leave Terre Di Himera. Nothing !
- Ciara (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location and building. The home cooked dinner and breakfast was beautiful. Perfect escape to the Sicilian countryside
- Fan (10/5): Expect returning again - Best breakfast, nice owner, true eco friendly None
- Mimi (10/5): Maria and her husband were lovely hosts. The food for both dinner and breakfast were excellent. - Dinner and breakfast were exceptional. Nothing
- Joost (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly owner! We did stay for 1 night but did already regret we did not book for a few more nights. Very nice location, nice views and very nice room.
- Farzanah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ursula (10/5): A beautiful farmhouse with traditional food in a picturesque setting - A beautiful restored farmhouse which had beautiful views and was very clean and well set up but also felt very authentic. The food was excellent, Maria the owner was very knowledgable about Sicilian food and culture and is an excellent cook. She assisted us organising a taxi when there was a train strike and made us feel very welcome.
- Cliff (9/5): The setting, food, views, hosts, all combined for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. - Dramatic setting in rural Sicily with the Madonie mountain range to the east, sea to the north and giant rock, Monte San Calògero, to the west. The natural state of the location is serene, the gardens, exquisite, and the thoughtful hosts have provided several outdoor spaces to enjoy nature and the views. Very quiet.
Maria and Fabrizio, make everyone feel welcome, like family. The meals they prepare are magical, made from food grown on their property and from local food artisans. Plumbing might benefit from updating.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Grazie mille Maria & Fabrizio ❤️
We had a fantastic stay at Terre di Himera!
The accommodation is comfortable and the hospitality was top-notch.
Maria and Fabrizio are extremely friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed throughout our stay. The breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious👌🏻, with a great variety of options and excellent service. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this place!
- Gabriel (8/5): Very good -
- Mitchell (10/5): Authentic experience to relax and unwind - We loved getting out of the busy city and relax at Terre Di Himera for a night . We had previously been in Palermo and on our way to Cefalù we stopped in for a night on our way. If you have a car you could locate yourself here and travel to Celfalu for day trips , if you didn’t mind the travel. We had a beautiful dinner prepared for us and the breakfast was also very good . It was also nice to try their olive oil . We spent our afternoon reading on the terrace in the sun , followed by wine and dinner . We stayed only 1 night. Nothing we didn’t like it was all great , however the location is isolated so best to organise transportation first if you do not have a car . We had a Local taxi from the train station to the property however it is 50 Euros for a 10 min taxi .
- Sophy (9/5): Not long enough - What an amazing property this is. Our hosts were super and yes the breakfast I will remember for a very long time . Thankyou Maria and Fabrizio Maybe more pillows and for me a softer bed.
- Karist (9/5): Worth a visit!! - I would recommed to anyone traveling through the area to stay at this agriturismo to experience a taste of traditional Sicilian life. The owners where very friendly and helpful throughout our stay; the ambiance is perfect with the surrounding countryside making you forget the busy city.
Cherry on the cake was the dinner, which was cooked by the owners, which featured a number of traditional local dishes. You need a car to arrive
- Esther (9/5): Superb - We arrived at the pastoral place that is surrounded by vegetation, fruit trees, a simple paradise with a view of gorgeous mountains, everything was stunning and even the dinner was perfect, typical Sicilian, and breakfast, all made by the hostess, was really stunning
- Alexia (10/5): Hidden Gem definitely worth a detour! - Terre di Himera is an absolute hidden Gem!! we took a bit of a detour to stay here and it was definitely worth it!! Maria and Frabrizio were wonderful hosts, they took such good care of us and their food was wonderful!
the rooms are in an old restored farmhouse right in the middle of the Sicilian country side!
this place felt like home! Grazie Mille Maria and Fabrizio
- Jenny (9/5): Agritourisme in action - a fantastic stopping off point between Palermo and Catania. - We loved our 1 night stay at this family run Agritourisme. The food was wonderful (meats and 3 salads for dinner with local wine and tiramisu) and a beautiful breakfast spread of local cheese, meat, baked goods, fruits, honey and Sicilian specialities. The host and hostess could not have been more kind and their hospitality made a beautiful, quiet place in the hills even more restful and enjoyable - thank you 🙏🏻 We would have liked to stay longer.
- Oded (9/5): Superb - The place is beautiful and peaceful
It is a good base for excursions to both nature parks and cities
The staff is very friendly and helpful
Also breakfast was good If there was a coffee maker or tee in the room, it would have been perfect
- Mark (8/5): Really enjoyed our stay. Mario and Fabrizio perfect hosts, waiting up til 4am for our much delayed. - Excellent in all respects. Can't think of any improvement. Bigger bathroom, more shelving or hooks,
- Andrea (10/5): Both Maria and Fabrizio are very helpful and forthcoming hosts. The service and food is excellent. - Very extraordinary breakfast with local products and many of them selfmade by Maria.
Dinner was excellent as well and made by the hosts with a lot of passion.
- Alina (8/5): Authentic - Authentic expirience, buitiful property and the room, comfortable armchairs outside and nice view to the see. Good breakfast with high quality local products. Owners very attentive and nice also speaking English. The bed was big and shits from good material, but mattress not so comfortable. Wifi was disconnecting a lot and access road is afull
- Axelle (10/5): A Sicilian dream, everything was perfect! - Staying at Maria and Frabrizio’s was one of the highlights of our stay in Italy. Everything was amazing from the location to the breakfast and the warmth of our hosts. The dinner we had there was also one of the best of our trip. We highly recommend this place.
- Emmanuel (10/5): Heavenly! - It‘s an amazing and wonderful place to stay and Maria, Fabrizio and their teams are incredible hosts! It was paradise
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - A wonderful stay, thanks to lovely, entertaining and professional hosts.
By far, the best meals (both breakfast and dinner) we've had in Sicily,
with fresh homegrown, organic fruit and vegetables and most excellent
homemade Sicilian dishes and desserts.
Special ♥️ for the parmiggiana, the peperonata and the meat cooked on the woodfire.
See you all soon, hopefully!
Catherine and "Mister Kevin"
- Vyacheslav (10/5): Hidden Gem - Terre di Himera has certainly exceeded out expectations: great location with picturesque views, short drive away from Palermo and Cefalu (which has a great sandy beach). Very welcoming and accommodating hosts. Great breakfast with nice selection of local produce and delicious dinners cooked with love by Maria. Staying here was a highlight of our trip to Sicily.
- Aurora (10/5): Magical and lovely - I had a beautiful room and enjoyed every minute spent on the gorgeous terrace or the comfy chairs outside my room.... I only wish I had been able to stay longer. Breakfast was wonderful and so was the hospitality
- Jacqueline (10/5): A wonderful and stylish agriturismo stay. - This is truly a special, beautiful place. Fabrizio and Maria were amazing hosts and made us feel very welcome.
The food is incredible. They really take km0 food seriously, and if they don't grow or make it here at the agriturismo, they know exactly where and whom all of the ingredients come from, and explain the provenance of the ingredients. Not a single dish repeated from either dinner, but both were fantastic. They also have a really well-curated wine list with very reasonable prices, or they'll provide an ice bucket and glasses if you bring your own.
The breakfast is also really special. So many delicious options, with gourmet cookies and homemade cakes, special jams and kinds of honey, fresh figs from the garden, local cheeses, and cured meats, and delicious croissants. Fabrizio will make you a cappuccino if you don't want regular coffee, and they're delicious!
The room was beautiful, enormous, and well-appointed. It seems like it was renovated yesterday - so new and clean. We were so impressed by the style and quality of all of the fixtures and furniture. The bed was really comfortable and the shower had great pressure, and the toiletries smelled wonderful. The A/C worked great!
I would absolutely stay here if I were in the area again. The *only* challenging part is the last bit of road on the way up to the property - it's dirt and bumpy, but if you take it slow and carefully, it's no big deal. There's ample parking and the views make it all worth it!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Like: property is located on a nice hill away from the human and car traffic. At night it’s a beautiful place to sit and sip wine. The house itself is small and rustic but very clean. Ample parking and easy checking.
Dislike: the room we had had absolutely no windows and it is a bit depressing. It also had a shower with a top shower head only which makes it for some people who do not wish to wash hair very difficult to shower. It’s also very small so more corpulent people wouldn’t fit in. The dinner was so so - ingredients fresh but of no consequential taste. Nothing I can even remember. Everything was bland and absolutely uninteresting. The best part, the dessert, wasn’t prepared there. Breakfast was ok but nothing that amazing. Service at the dinner was not so good. We could hear the owners arguing in the kitchen, and the owner had a grim face throughout the night. As if he was forced to be there. Didn’t really want to spend time talking nor being pleasant. Probably the worst dinner I had in Sicily in 7 days was there. And considering the price per night I’d say the 5 star hote we stayed in and was cheaper couldn’t even nearly come close to this place. Overall an average experience as price doesn’t not correspond to the venue and service.
Inkl. Duschgel .
- Kate (10/5): Fabulous! - The hotel is a bit out of the way — the road leading up to it doesn't really seem like a road at all — but, all concerns disappear when you finally arrive. The food (both breakfast and dinner) was delicious and our stay was excellent.
- Gary (10/5): - Wonderful food, calming atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff who couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable. We planned to eat out but the food was so delicious we stayed and enjoyed.
- Paul (10/5): - The setting was beautiful, the room was very clean and comfortable, the staff was wonderful. The breakfast was very nice but the dinner was amazing. Despite being the only ones there on a weeknight, we were treated to a multi-course dinner that we will never forget. From beginning to end, it was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend.
- Ehud (10/5): A great place for a relaxing vacation - A relaxing vacation for me and my wife. Hospitality was great. The owners are very friendly and welcoming.
- Susan (8/5): A Feast to Enjoy! - If you stay at this hotel, you must do the dinner. It is several courses and some of the best food I have had in Italy. Maria and Fabrizio provide a creative feast in a beautiful setting. The hotel is well located for several day trips .... Caccamo, Cefalu and Palermo.
- Geir (8/5): - Great get-away place with fantastic food. Really a place to disconnect and relax.
- Deepinder (10/5): Amazing stay at Terre Di Himera - It was a very relaxing stay. The location was perfect and the views breathtaking. The food and hospitality were outstanding
- Andreas (10/5): Most authentic sicilian experience - We havent left the car before the door of the cosy looking house opened. The super friendly landlady was there, ready to welcome us with fresh drinks. The little farm house is a bit off the center, but that is eactly right for this relaxing, quiet place. The food served - breakfast as well as dinner - is outstanding! Exquisit sicilian cuisine, cooked only from organic produce. If you stay there, one dinner is a must! We will come back for sure.
