Guest Reviews
- Meggie (10/5): - Everything is perfect! The bed was confortable, the bathroom was clean, i love the kithen!
- Tamara (10/5): Great place with lots of extras, would stay again! - They really have a lot of potential with this place. The proximity to beach 2 - which is a great family beach and nicer sand than beach 1- is perfect. The beach they built down by the river to watch boats and get some extra sand play with the kids, is amazing. Only negative is it appears the fence is not complete around the docks ( I hope!) and it is pretty open to the water, just have to keep a good eye on little ones. We enjoyed sitting on the outdoor couches when kids were in bed, and had a great meal at the outdoor table and chair set with some take out. The kitchen inside made preparing breakfast and sandwiches to take to the beach so easy, and having a full size fridge with ice already supplied was an extra added bonus. Also BBQ's there for use so another easy meal. Could have easily stayed another night! Was sad to have leave back to the city..hope to visit again. My only wish is that they had child proof locks on their ground floor units, with the open water just too close it did concern me a little.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Riverdocks, Wasaga Beach - I liked that it was about 12 min walk to the main beach. building is newer, parking is adequate, front desk staff was fantastic. Plenty of space in the room, it was clean. My only negative comments are a few assumptions I had for ammenities so read the website. No iron, hairdryer or microwave in the room and I needed them but I was able to get a hairdryer from the front desk. Overall I would likely stay there again.
- james (8/5): Not cheap but very nice - 2 min walk across the street to the beach and 10 min from there down the board walk to the main beach /strip .
This place is great, a/c ,full kitchen ,comfy beds very nice overall ..
2 shared bbq's out back , could use a sitting area , when i was there it was for bike week some great people but no where to lounge and chat with everyone..
The sitting area at the back docks is nice with a little beach strip and a few chairs for a relaxing night ..
I would stay here again
- Em (10/5): Great - Very clean and comfortable. Will definitely recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean hotel. Only availability in the surrounding area that looked decent. Nothing special but it was clean. Expensive for what it is.
- Mike (6/5): Seasonal opportunity in a nice area - in season - This hotel costs about twice its value in the off-season, but they charge full coin year round. I stayed here because there were very few rooms in the vicinity of Collingwood, and I was visiting family. A comparable room in Collingwood would have cost half the price. This hotel is on the river, but the river is frozen in winter, so that is not much of an asset. The paddleboats and canoes are also frozen. The owners, in fairness, should drop rates in the off-season, but this seemed to be a situation of opportunity-pricing that captured the excess demand from an adjacent town.
As to the room, the master bedroom would be ok for mom and dad, but did not have a view. The living room had the other bed, which would have zero privacy. I do not understand why they built it that way, as that would only work for children up to teen years.
The hotel is new, but there was no elevator, so getting bags up to the third floor was a chore.
Finally, for that price, they did not have a fitness room. A hotel for half the price in Collingwood had a fitness room.
Moral of the story is book a fair-price room well ahead when visiting Collingwood or Wasaga Beach
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean homey suite - able to cook and all utensils and tools were present.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room on main floor does not have balcony and it has a feeling like the cheap motel. Windows are covered 3/4 with " privacy frost paint". terrible.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great i loved it it was very quite very clean i will go there again
- Nao (10/5): - amazing hotel I want to go back same hotel again
- Byron (6/5): Misleading Listing - Wifi was not available as advertised. At two visits to the front desk we were directed to log in using a password provided on checkin documentation. None of us were able to log on to the recommended hotel networks.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful area close to everything - The hotel came with everything we needed. It was modern clean and comfortable. The only thing I would change is the wifi wasn't very good.
- Hutch (8/5): Snowmobile trip - The location of the hotel is great for the river and beach. It is a self contained unit with it's own entrance and no hotel hall to deal with which is nice. The room was relatively new, the only thing missing was a microwave. A bit of a hike to the snowmobile trail but lots of parking for the trailer.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Clean and handy - The suite is very good, u can't complain more with this price. I got really upset because of the reception, cause she doesn't mention anything about checking out. So normally we'll consider return the key card back to the concierge. We return@9:00, nobody's there, back@12pm, nobody, again@7pm, finally she's back. I just generally ask something, she's like I don't have to be here, don't ask me where am I. Why u don't call the concierge number? I'm like called so many times, no one ever answered. She's arrogant with not sorry at all. U waste me all day travel 3 times from the other district to return the key. Overall, don't suggest this hotel, if reception changed, that's good. Really wanna say coarse language to her.
- TO Couole (4/5): Mediocre over price hotel with no amenities - Very disappointing. No elevator. External stairs only. Room was not well or consistently furnished. Very limited tv channels. No room or meal service. No staff on sight. Nothing near by.
Extremely over priced. Would never go back.
- Neil (10/5): WBRH - Spent a nice night in Wasaga Beach at the Wasaga Riverdocks Hotel. Everything was just as expected it to be.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very clean and modern room. Also nice and quiet. - Stayed at this hotel because I was in town for a triathlon.
Nice and quiet room.
Staff was friendly and professional.
I enjoyed being able to make my own meals in the fully equipped kitchen.
Room was clean and modern.
Will return for the race again next year.
- meagan (8/5): Close to the beach - The hotel was clean and close to everything. Nice staff. We enjoy our vacation and will come back next year
- Anson (8/5): Very nice hotel close to everything! - This hotel was superb, very nice reception, flexible and accommodating.
The facilities are more than you can actually need, the wifi in the room was poor as a result of the weather but everything else was excellent.
Close to Walmart, food land, Boston pizza and a host of fast food outlets.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very sad - The worst services. There is nobody on duty at the most time, including day and night. So we cannot check out in time because the office of the front desk was not open untill 11:45am. And nobody answered our calling.
- Tory (8/5): New, still working out some "kinks" - Hi - we were expected at noon, arrived to find that the office door was closed. There was a sign which indicated staff could be contacted, and be on=site quickly. That was not the case. In our favour was the fact that it was off season, and our presence was noticed by workers nearby. They contacted the mgr. at a different number, and he was able to be there within 10 minutes of that call.
Josh is a wonderful young man, who seeks to make your experience at Riverdocks a good one.
Upon entering the deluxe studio room on the third floor, which was listed at a fairly high rate, given the off-season time, I was shocked to see that the unit was very narrow, and only had a DOUBLE bed, which was not in the listing.
We were there to celebrate a 50th birthday, and that kind of put a pall over the festivities. However, Josh came to the rescue, and unlocked the private bedroom for us as well, at no additional cost.
The kitchen is gorgeous, if not totally equipped. The one bathroom is best suited for children, or people of smaller stature. It was very quiet, likely because there were only two other couples there for the weekend. Views are very nice.
Beware - there is no elevator, and the steps up to the second and third level are open steel grate - I fear that someone will easy fall, or get their heel stuck in the grate itself.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff and very clean room. Overall a great hotel and would definitely come back
- Stead (2/5): Room was not ready 4pm - Attended Blues Fest Wasaga Beach
We were disappointed our room was on top floor ( medical issues) no food they sent us us out walking and it was 1 mile away terrible service
No one to answer our concerns
Our room was not ready 4:00 PM really
Others waited much later
Damage deposit for two 70 year old really ???
$300 FOR ONE NIGHT !!!!!!
Thursday night September
- Ed (6/5): - Found the hotel in a good location. Very clean, nice new appliances but some issues, Bathroom faucet not secured to the vanity, bathroom door squeaks loudly when opened and closed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Honeymoon around Ontario - We had a little trouble checking in as upon arriving at 9pm there was no-one in the office and we had to call several times the number on the door for someone to come and check us in, but the room was lovely with all the equipment you needed to cater for yourselves and very comfortable and clean. The location is good, just across the road to get to the beach and a short walk to find food and pub locations. All in all we had a lovely stay and would stay again
- Yu (2/5): - very bad, booked online and tell us no vacancy when we got there without any notice in advance!
- Alessia (10/5): Amazing overall - The hotel room was amazing, clean, and close to the beach. My boyfriend and I would definitely return without any hesitations.
- Rog & Kam (10/5): Wasaga Beach Digs - My wife and I are in our 60's -- From The Toronto area --Returned to Wasaga Beach after 30 years! A great place to stay and catch up!
- Mila (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, quite and steps to the beach.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed - The hotel was recently renovated but some of the renovations were not as complete as they should have been. The bathroom fan showed a gap between the fan and the hole in the ceiling, the bathroom vanity was missing a knob and it looked like the floor around it was not finished properly. Finally the ceiling over the sofa was stained either from a leak or someone splashing it with coffee or similar liquid. The BBQs outside were a nice gesture but the platform they were on already need to be levelled off and the handles on the BBQs were already loose.
Finally the most annoying part was the construction that was taking place right beside my room which started at 7am. The hotel should warn guests before they arrive that there is ongoing construction.
- Toronto Girl (10/5): Love it! - Me and my family had an amazing stay. Room was so clean! It's about time Wasaga had something nice!
- Captaion John (8/5): Very nice structure. Some details need attention. - The hotel is located in a 3 story reinforced concrete structure - unusual for this location.
The original development was a victim of the great recession and has only recently been taken over and completed by the present owners.
First floor rooms are not recommended because they do not have opening windows.
We had a 2nd floor room with private balcony facing the river and it was splendid.
Full kitchen lacked a microwave. Everything else needed was in the kitchen.
Direct access to the river with new dock facilities.
Huge public park and great beach is across the street, with a boardwalk east to the local beachfront entertainment area.
Karen was very attentive. Cleaning staff had the room in immaculate condition.
Some details remain to be completed and while we were there they were pouring foundations for another wing of rooms and a restaurant, so you can expect construction activity to continue this summer.
We will definitely stay at Riverdocks during our next visit.
- Elvira (8/5): Great new hotel - it was very new, clean, well appointed, nice view of river. Hotel staff was very helpful. Gave me a call saying that they were looking forward to my stay ... Very friendly!
- lea (8/5): nice hotel! - It was a nice and clean room. Looks like newly renovated and outside they are still fixing parts of the hotel.
I like the neighborhood and the view, feels safe.
But the WIFI didn't work... I reported it so hopefully they will fix it...
- Verified traveler (10/5): The best stay without exaggeration. - I made a reservation the day of stay at a reasonable price. I could have definitely found a much cheaper place in the area but decided to give it a try after seeing all the great reviews. And as soon as I opened the door to our room, this place was incomparably nicer than what I expected to see with what I payed.
It was extremely quiet and clean to the point that I actually felt sorry for checking out the next morning without doing some cleaning on my part (woke up late). The lady at front desk is super nice as well, making my stay at this hotel the best one I've ever had so far. And I've stayed over 40-50 hotels within the previous one year.
So I recommend everyone of you to give them a chance to impress you!
- Verified traveler (10/5): VERY CLEAN, USEFUL, FUNCTIONAL, BE WELCOMED - it was a excellent experience.
The outside of this hotel looks clean, not so exclusive,
BUT!
when you check in, and walk in the room you booked before, you would found the feeling of a home.
I got almost everything i could use at home.
And actually it is perfect for a home party.
Sleeping was good, bath is good, AC warm is good, etc.
Everything there is good.
It worths for 4XX CAD for such a room with two bedrooms and with a functional kitchen & dinning room.
All guests are welcomed, very wonderful feeling.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great hotel but no WIFI - The hotel was very clean and in a great location. Full kitchen in room which was amazing. But, front desk was only available for a couple of hours in the afternoon for check-in. We did not have WIFI connection at all during our stay and when we called front desk for help they were not there. We were also asked to leave the keys in the room so there was no check-out procedure to even complain about the lack of WIFI.
- Cristina (10/5): Good Stay - Great welcome. the lady at the reception allowed us to check in early as the hotel was not very busy.
Nice room, very clean. The only drawback to the room was the air- very dry during the night as well as the appliances and the heating unit were a bit loud during the night .
- Verified traveler (4/5): Poor and cheap interior design - Steyed in one of the ground level rooms.
More than 10 cm of snow in front of the door, nobody cared.
Very poor/cheap interior design. The heating unit is at less than a foot from the bed, blowing hot air in your face. It was impossible to sleep.
Hot water ran out before finishing my shower.
Terrible experience. It ruined our weekend.
- bell (8/5): nice hotel and nice staff - nice and clean!near the beach.clean room and very patient staff. Kitchen with all stuff needed for a meal.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice! - We stayed at the Wasaga Riverdocks for one evening after skiing at Blue Mountain. We didn't realize that the office closed at 6:00 pm during the winter months and we didn't arrive to check in until 8:00 pm. Thankfully, the woman in the office had stayed late and was very friendly and accommodating. She had taken the steps to try to contact me by phone and email but I hadn't picked up my messages.
We stayed in a studio room on the first floor and were impressed by the size and layout. The bed was very comfy and having a full kitchen was handy for making breakfast and snacks. The only drawback we experienced was that the room was frigidly cold when we arrived and took hours to warm up. Other than that it was a great stay and we will most likely return (price permitting!).
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, modern, close to beach - Very new hotel. Rooms include a full kitchen. Comfortable bed. Pleasing riverfront deck with chairs, umbrellas, a sandy area and a bbq.
- Vince (10/5): Great hotel close to the beach! - Our experience was wonderful; quiet and luxurious.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant stay at Wasaga Riverdocks - The hotel still needed a little finishing work done but the room was spacious and kitchen was a bonus.
- Robert (10/5): new suite very clean and fully equipped - Great room
- dseiple (10/5): Very nice place. All new aND very clean! - Nice little place with water view! Relaxing and peaceful. Great for a one night stay. Bathrooms are tight...only - in friendly hotel. Close to beach!
- Verified traveler (10/5): awesome - Was very surprised at how clean and new this place looked.six of us had booked a one bedroom suite through hotels.com. when I checked in and got to my room the front desk had upgraded us to the two bedroom suite. We were very impressed by how clean it looked.online pictures and 2.5/5 ratings did no justice. We will defibetly stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice and clean close to the beach - The hotel is in very good condition, rooms are very clean
the staff a manager are very friendly and helpful.
It was a good time in Wasaga beach.
- Ann (8/5): Spacious apartment on the Wasaga River -
A good experience. Studio, one and two bedroom units.
