Guest Reviews
- WILLIAM (6/5): -
- Yasuo (8/5): - Was a nice find in a pinch as our original destination hotel was shut down and we arrived to a closed hotel. Found this place on a busy weekend. It was sufficient for just coming back to sleep and leave early the next morning.
- ROBERT (8/5): - The duty manager was friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable about the area. Convenient location with numerous food and fuel options close by. Easy parking and access. The room was clean, well-stocked and I slept VERY well under the warm blankets on a comfortable bed. Nothing fancy, and that's what I wanted. Thanks to the management and staff!
- Wilvia (8/5): - Not bad for one night but it needs a bit of work and cleaning.
- Monique (8/5): - Host was very pleasant and nice. Quiet clean room and comfortable bed.
- Thomas (6/5): - cable issues, hot water issues.
- Jacob (10/5): - Very friendly staff welcoming and great room. Happy with stay
- Peggy (8/5): - Staff was very friendly, professional, courteous.
- Frank (8/5): - It is a property without luxuries, other than the tranquility and peace that is breathed there. Ideal for those looking to rest, disconnecting from the city.
- Phillip (10/5): - I must say I could not have picked a better place to stay I was in town to umpire at Cooperstown dreams park and the pricing, atmosphere were great the rooms fit like a glove very clean made me feel like home next time I have to go back to Cooperstown this will be the first place I look up
Thank you all for your service
- Judy (6/5): Stay in Sharon Springs - Good location. Manager/owner very friendly anf helpful. Bed was clean and comfortable. Having use of a mini-fridge was nice
- Dominique (2/5): - Close this motel, not good for your name
- John (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful. Clean and safe. Easy access to restaurants.
- Brian (6/5): - The room was clean. The staff was pleasant.
- Liz (2/5): - The pictures for this property online did not match the actual room. Adverisement was for Travelers Inn but sign said Budget Inn. Had it not been so late and had we not been so tired we would have forfeited the $113.00 paid to drive and find another hotel or motel. This property felt unsafe. I felt like I was staying in an old camper. The decor was dated which was the least of our concerns. Mattresses were lumpy and there was a slab of wood between the mattress and boxspring, I suppose to provide some semblance of support. Window was open on a cool night and was very difficult to close. There was a stove in the room which looked 50 years old and suitable for a camper/campsite at best. The commode wobbled. If you moved while in use it may have tipped over. The shower was just okay, however the clean towels provided looked 10 years old and had bleach stains.
- Verified traveler (6/5): No frills, no TV - I knew it was a low budget stay. I was disappointed that the TV channels were almost all scrambled. I was tired enough that i did not bother tryi g to blget it fixed. But if i didnt want to watch ABC i was out of luck.
The bed was comfy enough but yhe shower floor was not tiled and looked dirty even if it was clean. I didnt risk it
- Michael (8/5): - Property was in a small town so not many amenities around Cooperstown especially in ten winter.
- Charles (10/5): - Management staff was great! We had a late check in and they stayed late to get us checked in. Nice, quiet place. Would stay there again.
- Joe (10/5): - Overall, a decent place to stay out in the middle of nowhere. Nice and quiet and the gentleman behind the desk is more than helpful
- jovanni (10/5): - The rooms where great and comfortably
- thomas (2/5): - Motel charged me full amount via Travelocity at time of booking. I had to cancel trip a day later. Motel refused to refund any part of the full payment. They blamed Travelocity. Travelocity blamed the motel. Cancellation was done little less than a week from anticipated check in. Motel had plenty of time to resell and refund my money. This is called predatory business practices.
- Robin (2/5): - The place was very outdated, not at all like the pictures online. Water was lukewarm at best, not heat, bed was hard as a rock. Would have been better to sleep on the floor but the carpet was stained. Spiders and webs in corners of room. Stayed one night ONLY because there were not other places available because of family weekend at local college. Hotel staff sent me a nasty text message using capital letters essentially yelling at me. About my review I sent in online.
- Pamela (6/5): - There’s always issues with two-star hotels, and this was no exception. The noise level was higher than one would want for a good night’s sleep; the basic requirements of a hotel are there, but any aspect that would make it a pleasurable stay are missing.
- Priya (10/5): - Loved it.
- John (6/5): Feed back - Not so good, renovating. But NEEDS a lot of work. The owners was friendly and gave go direction’s to local attractions.
- Jonathan (2/5): - Because of a mix up in the address used by the GPS, we approached the backside of the motel via Chestnut street. The backside was a disaster. Broken windows. Siding missing. Looked like total chaos. Then when we found the address on the front side of the property on Highway 20, there was no Travelers Inn sign, just an old, dilapidated "Budget Inn" sign . We did not even stop. Just kept going west on highway 20 until we found something more suitable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room is very dated! Otherwise OK. Parking is easy.
- Verified traveler (2/5): False Advertisement - False advertisement. This is not even a Travelers Inn it is a Budget Inn motel. The pictures are deceiving.
- Rachel (2/5): False advertisement - Not as advertised at all. It’s not even a Traveler’s Inn, it is called Budget Inn and the pictures online are not from this hotel.
- Shirley (4/5): - the room i got was nothing like the picture you are showing
the best way i could describe this place in 1 word GHETTO
- Crystal (2/5): - This place was nothing like described on web. The Travel Inn sign was not even visible. We were told it was broke and will be replaced. We had to call and get directions over and over, as this was our first time in this town. The one staff was nice, but located in a very dirty office with spider webs hanging everywhere. When we got to the room, we almost threw up. Didn’t want to touch anything. We had a 2 yr old and a 1 month old that we didnt want to touch anything in the room (can you imagine that?). Because we were stuck in traffic for over 4hrs and the kids were starving. We put down diaper cloths (which we threw in the garbage afterwards) and we fed the kids and left immediately. Spider webs everywhere. Home-like towels that were totally faded/discolored. Tiny bathroom with rust all over the towel rack and Kleenex tissue holder (with no tissue inside). Two rolls of toilet tissues that were both almost gone sitting on the tank. Carpet stands EVERYWHERE. Dust and trash all in corners. There was no way we were staying there another second. We had to drive 4hrs back to NewYork, NY even though we were tired and exhausted and was suppose to go to the National Baseball Hall of Fame the next day. This was my husband’s birthday gift and it was ruined. There were no other hotels available anywhere in or near Cooperstown that night. Horrible experience. Ruined birthday. Waste of money - and they had the nerve to put non-refundable… now I see why. False advertisement. RUN!!!
- Charles (2/5): - The place had no sign to indicate where it was located. It took us an inordinate amount of time to find the place. The room was not as pictured in the advertisement. The place was dirty inside. We booked one King size bed, which was not in the room assigned to us. It had two smaller beds. There were no items in the room one would expect - tissues, a clean shower floor, or anything else. We left the place after only two hours and drove the rest of the way home. No one was in the office when we left. We were totally dismayed.
- Gary (10/5): - Hotel was nice clean and service was great
- Elam (2/5): - The costumer service is nothing
- Carrie (10/5): - Just needed A little TLC on the property.
- Nancy (10/5): - We were in a bind since a motel we had already paid for lost power and water due to a bad storm. The gentleman at the desk stayed late till we arrived and was very helpful to us
- Gary (8/5): Comfortable hospitality! - Our 6 day stay at this motel was satisfactory. The room was very comfortable and kept cool with the air conditioner. Fresh towels were provided and linens changed. Internet and cable tv were great. The owner was very accomadating and helpful! We would stay here again. The only issue we had was it needed more cleaning on doors and shower. Great location.
- Eric (2/5): - Très très sale
- Don (8/5): - Nice quite and convenient location.
- william (10/5): Excellent - The motel is “old school”. The room was refurbished and very clean. All the appliances worked properly. The owner-manager lives next door and was friendly and helpful. He also was helpful in recommending restaurants. I would stay here again.
- Michael (2/5): - The room shown online is definitely not a good example of what you are in for. The room was so dated.
Bathroom: the tile walls and floor of the shower were painted. The shelf in bathroom was not completely secured to the wall. The shower was about as small as one in a camper.
The only outlet was in the bathroom and you had to leave the light on to have the outlet on. Towels were well worn and beach stained
Bedroom area: on the plus side, there was a mini refrigerator and microwave. Beds were very firm.
I wish we had driven a bit further. This motel left everything to be desired
- Albert (6/5): - Property needs a renovation, especially the rooms
- Kevin (2/5): - We arrived around 9 pm, and they offered us a choice of two rooms. Both had all the windows open on a chilly night. Turned out both rooms smelled of mildew, found human hairs in the bed, and was filthy. My wife and daughter refused to sleep in the room and slept in the car. Furniture old bathroom outdated. Shower temperature alternated between freezing and burning. It seemed worse than a welfare motel. There was no internet.
- Margarita (6/5): - nothing, but the sign needs to be more visible and it was the wrong name, which made it hard to find
- donna (2/5): - It was horrible , I left , it was not a place fit to stay , it was disgusting inside and out
- Eltasha (2/5): - Safe yourself and check in at the hotels around the area. The bathroom toilet was filthy with pee and poop. The shower is small and filthy with rust everywhere. The shower curtain was torn with mold everywhere. honestly I wouldn’t call it a shower. No cable. Bed linen was dirty. The towels were blue and most likely filled with dirt that we couldn’t see. I can go on. Just don’t do it. The pictures look NOTHING like the room.
- Earl (10/5): Comfortable & Friendly - Host amenable. Room clean. Beds comfortable. Somewhat difficult to find late at night as sign was not lit.
- Lisa (2/5): - Think of the Bates motel when looking to book at the Sharon Springs Motel. When you walk in the your room you notice an efficiency style room with a small stove ,mini fridge and TV. At first you will notice a strong smell of Musty, mildew and cigarettes.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Nothing is what the picture shows. Every thing is so out dated. Both beds so old . They had old egg crates on them . The window in the bathroom had a broken lock on it. Shower had paint peeling on the floor of it. The shower walls look to have some mold at the bottom. Steps to get into the office were broken. Rug in the office was so dirty with stains. Looked like a scene out of horror movie.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The manager was a great guy. However, the air conditioner did not appear to work. It is an older property that the manager is trying to keep up, but it appears difficult. We were happy for a place to stay at that hour and the Wifi.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff and up-kept room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Owner was a good guy but the place definitely needs some TLC , needs a woman’s touch if I lived closer I would offer to clean up the place , it wouldn’t take much to spruce up!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No frills , clean and economical
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Check in clerk was not available when I wanted to check in. Had to call police to find him. He was not friendly. Took picture of CC and didn't give receipt. Very unscupulous. I have charge on my CC which is not mine. Am reporting the inn to the Atty General of NY state. A dump!!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The gentleman running the office (which closes for check-in at 10PM) waited for us to arrive as we were late and lost and it was pouring out. He actually spotted us on the road and guided us in. He was extremely kind and helpful.
The property itself is old and needs some TLC but for $99 I got a good nights sleep.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Place was organized but needs a thorough cleaning and disinfecting. Had a lil musty scent. Some upgrading..lawn needs a green thumb. Other than that not bad for a 1 night stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was a no tell motel. Everything old and dirty. I don't recommend this place at all
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I didn't like the whole place.
run down , dirty, dead bugs in draws, no sign Identifying the place, or location. This is a flop house.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Didn't like anything. Beds were broken! Floor was falling through! Spiders everywhere.. smelled very musky.. fridge and water didnt work in the kitchenette nor did the plugs.. we should of just went camping 🏕
- Verified traveler (2/5): - nothing we couldn't stay there because it was very musty and moldy, I have breathing problems
and as soon as we looked at the room i was having problems .we need to figure out how i can get my money back and you need to take this plase off your list of places to visit it is making a bad rep for your company
- Verified traveler (4/5): Don’t recommend - Way overpriced. Bathroom was dirty, shower was small and dirty, sink didn’t work, bed was uncomfortable, tv only got a few channels and parking was crammed
- Malinda (2/5): Would not stay again - This hotel was less then adequate. I didnt expect a high end with the price being 75.00. However the office entrance is not user friendly. Had to use intercome for so.eone to come to office. Door latch was broke on outside of room. Musty smell. Was dead bug in second bed when i went to get pillow off of it. Shower is very small. Veary early check out (10 am). Property not really maintained. Letters falling off sign. Grass had to be very high when mowed. Would not stay again. Wished i had taken pictures.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We didn’t stay. I hope we get a refund but I called orbitz 3 different times and each time I was disconnected. This hotel was the scariest place I’ve visited booking through orbitz
- WILLIAM (2/5): on stay here!!! - Dirty room, it took almost two hours to get heat turned on.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet, reasonably priced accomodations, nothing fancy.
- Michele (4/5): Travelers Inn - This motel needs to be updated.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Dingy dirty
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Smelled old and musty and the pwner went into our room while we were out.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The place is awful. Hasn’t been updated in years it filthy. Water didn’t go down in shower. Rugs were old and dirty. Sheets were dirty. It’s too bad it could be a nice place. Never again
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This advertisement is very misleading. They show you a different hotel with different rooms online through Expedia. It is very run down, broken door handle, and doesn't appear very well cleaned or sanitized at all! The beds are rock hard and the linens are stained yellow. You have to let the water run for a good 5 minutes before it becomes warm and the drains do not drain well at all in the shower. Very, very disappointed with this booking.
- Rakesh (4/5): Stay only if no other choice. - Not worth for the money. Old and dirty. Had couple bugs in the room. Bathroom too small with very slow shower drain. Breakfast should not be call breakfast.
- Kurt (8/5): Well rested - Owner was very nice and pleasant meeting him during check in. Needed a Room on a motorcycle trip. Worked out well. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Our room was not what the picture showed was a very old motel.
- Jennifer (2/5): - Left immediately.
- John (8/5): - When you first look it’s a old road side motel but the rooms are clean and comfortable and cleaned every day
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Will not recommend ! Door handle broken.
Exterior looks dilapidated.. Room has unpleasant odor.
Refused to stay,walked out.
- Mike (2/5): - I had a medical emergency and the owner would not accommodate me .I was not looking for a full refund, but I think it would have been nice to give me a partial refund.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean, staff was personable and efficient. The parking could have had lines of rope in the gravel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, easily accessible to Cooperstown and restaurants. The manager was very courteous and likable.
- Cornelis (2/5): To expensive - Got charge extra and there was no breakfast at all dont book there anymore
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Total dump!! Not worth the money. Better off sleeping in a tent .sheets were so old they looked yellow.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great visit to Sharon Springs - Slept like a rock. Quiet and private which is when I was looking for. Drove my car right to the door of the room
- Patrick (10/5): Great stay for level of hotel - This is not the Ritz. But it is a solid, clean, safe hotel in an excellent location of the town where it is set. Unlike M Star\Budget Inn on Palatine Hill at Canajoharie, this is reputable hotel and Andy is a reputable manager. You wont regret staying here as you would at M Star.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The property is very dated from the crooked office entry to the single pane windows that barely closed. The room did not seem clean, the bathroom mini blind was broken so you had no privacy. There were three towels in the room, all different colors and styles and they were not new. It was like staying at grandma's house with the leftover towels. The bed was solid like it was a box spring with sheets on it. There were holes in the walls. I slept fully clothed the one night i was there just because it was not a comfortable place to stay.
- Megan (10/5): Above & Beyond Expectations - The service is unbelievable. My friend and I were late to our check in and the associate running the desk waited for us after his shift was over. We couldn’t believe how nice he was. He was super accommodating to our situation. Also kayak or hotel.com didn’t specify or give an real details to what kind of room I rented and it was not what we needed. The Associate not only went above and beyond and blew our expectations away he upgraded us with no extra cost. I would highly recommend. Rooms are clean and good for basic needs. Good location and quiet.
- Elvin (6/5): - The minute I walked in the room I knew right away that I wasn’t staying there. The bed sheets had blood stains all over them.
- G (2/5): - Room had a terrible odor. We actually went and bought air freshener to spray in room. The carpet felt dirty and as if it had been wet. The window sills and blinds were dusty. There were 5 half inch hard shell dead bugs in the bathroom on the floor behind the door.. The hot water had to run for 4-5 minutes before it was lukewarm. The linen was dingy. The wifi quit and would never let me reconnect. The only reason we stayed was that it was a the first weekend of October and it was VERY difficult to find any room in the area.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst ever - Don’t stay there. It is definitely worth a few extra dollars or miles to stay somewhere else.
- Pearl (4/5): - This was a last minute place to stay because of college family weekend not much left to get. Bedspread was dirty on the under side and crap between wall and sink. When checking in you had to use an intercom system and was hard to make out the voice. I think the expense for this place was high considering what it was like, but like I said not much choices for college weekend
- kathy (4/5): Not so hot - Hotel very run down smelled bad water in kitchenette not working and no coffee pot
- Dana (10/5): Nice place to stay. - Nice stay at Travelers. Reasonable rates, continental breakfast with pastries and Green Mountain Coffee! Owner was super nice and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
- William (4/5): Needs a lot of attention. - It was NOT at all what the picture showed of a room. This motel is ancient. The windows were open when we got inside. Now I know why they were open, cause it was really musty smelling. There was One car there when we were there. They need to overhaul this place inside & out. The accommodations inside was from the 50’s. They tried to update with a frog & tv. They had everything plugged into a make shift receptacle. They also lied when I booked it. They said it was the last room. There was no one there. Also it said it was 20 minutes away from Cooperstown. It was 36 minutes from Cooperstown. There was one place to eat. A make shift gas station/ store & eatery. I must say the food wasn’t bad. It was for breakfast. False advertising of the bedroom picture. I’m sorry I didn’t take any pictures of the real looking room. I also tried to contact them at the motel desk. It said the voicemail box is NOT set up. How can you get in touch with them if they don’t answer & voicemail box isn’t set up. Very disappointed with this motel.
- Rhonda (6/5): - Great staff very helpful Cute place
- Adam (8/5): Good alternative to Cooperstown - Nice alternative to actual cooperstown. Not far drive.
- Daniel (6/5): It served its purpose. - Room was small, which wasn't a big problem for us, since we weren't in very much anyway. Shower was cramped and shower floor was cracked and chipped. Needed some cosmetic attention. Beds were comfortable enough. But comforters were stained on the inside. Few power outlets, but an effort was made to correct, with an extension cord. Room wasn't bad, wasn't great. Served its purpose for us. Management was nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This was a terrible hotel and I highly recommend that you DO NOT STAY here because you will be very disappointed. The room had bed bugs and dirty sheets which lead me to put a negative review upon check in. We got locked out of our room the next night and the staff refused to supply a back up key or even let us in...we had to drive an hour away to stay in another hotel. I have never experienced this level of poor service (if you can even call it service) and just a disgusting place in general. Read everyone else's comments...
- Timothy (6/5): - Served the purpose of a place to stay for our weekend at Cooperstown. Less than 1/2 hour away and no traffic with a quaint General store/restaurant just a short distance away.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not a bad place for induction weekend - For a motel as close to Cooperstown as possible in our budget, it wasn’t bad. But the motel itself is very outdated. The sheets and pillows felt like they were 10 years old and the room had a moldy smell. However, the manager who checked us in was incredibly helpful and nice. If they got nicer bedding and got rid of the smell we would definitely stay here again.
- Jason (2/5): - Hotel very old and none of the pictures on this site are any of the rooms at this place. Wife surprised me with a trip to Cooperstown and booked this room off of the pictures. When we arrived and she got a look at the room she cried for 3 hours. We fond a different room on the lake and did not stay here. We will be asking for a refund from Expedia and informing them it was false advertising with the pictures. Will never stay here again and tell everyone not to. This was worse than the "Bates" motel. Owner did offer to show us a different room, but told him that it would not help. Told him the wife was not happy and we got a room on the lake. His response was "She wanted luxury!", no she just wanted a room from this decade like the pictures showed. Like i said we will be contacting Expedia with pictures for a full refund.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had a great experience here and would stay again. We especially loved the comfortable beds.
