We paid for a water front villa, it was that bad with the smell and noise from a generator we down graded to pool access room, also really dated and have issue with excessive moisture. The villas need updating and the walk ways look like they will collapse at any moment. the walk from the villa is a long one and take time with little legs. The service… terrible. 20minutes to get anything. Food, well below average. Breakfast, ants in the cereal, coffee machine just gives you warm milk. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

The staff was extremely courteous and professional – but with a few oddities. - Princess Garden Island Resort and Spa is a very nice place to relax, with several extremely overpriced amenities. For the most part, the staff was extremely courteous and professional. However, we did experience a few oddities. There are some excursions that require anywhere from 1-3 hours transportation time getting there and back. However, even when we tried to book our island hopping excursion one day in advance, the hotel staff was either unwilling or unable to accommodate us because we supposedly needed to “plan ahead.” We ended up simply going out to the sand-bar, which is located withing walking distance on the property, and requires an on-duty life guard. I can not say enough good things about the life guards. They were amazing in every way. After having enjoyed a nice dinner at the Tomato and Basil restaurant, we decided that we wanted to spend a few hours at the karaoke lounge. But instead of enjoying the rest of the evening in song, the experience made us all rather pissed off. When we approached the staff worker about the karaoke lounge, we were informed that we would not be allowed to use the lounge unless we first purchase a rather large quantity of food to bring with us into the room. Never mind the fact that WE JUST ATE!!! Now we had to purchase MORE FOOD (which was prepared at the SAME RESTAURANT where we first had our dinner), just so we could sing a few karaoke songs. Additionally, the entire karaoke set up was small and weak. It was almost impossible to balance the microphone volume with the sound system – and the reverb was overpowering, annoying, and nearly impossible to adjust. The instrumental accompaniment tracks are extremely poor quality. And there were SEVERAL songs that we simply could not find! Our hotel room was very tidy and clean, although they COULD be a little more generous with the bath towels! I found some exposed wiring that should never pass building code (if there are any). That is clearly not the type of thing you expect to see at a so called “5-star” resort. The water pressure for the shower was amazing. All the restaurants have an impressive variety of menu items. Without exception, everything was expertly prepared and served. Even the breakfast buffet (which is included in the price of the room) was a nice experience.

- Vnz23 (10/5): Awesome Puerto Princesa Experience at Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa - Princesa Garden has friendly staff, great resort amenities, amazing decor, multiple pools and great ambience. The onsite restaurants have delicious food. The ocean wing premier suite room was spacious, relaxing and loved the personal touches like the robe and slippers. We definitely recommend the resort to everyone (families, couples and singles).
- Tzills (6/5): Disappointed! - Disappointing. Understand it is not a beachfront resort but an accessible sandbar was advertised. No access to sandbar entire stay. No kayaks. Area to see sandbar is run down and trashy. Closet in room had bad smell, toilet didn't flush properly. Breakfast area had insufficient seating and seemed to run out of popular food often. Tower 1 pool- tiles falling off and needs upkeep. Spa- massage therapist was great but drilling and construction noise during massage.
- billandjanet143 (10/5): Worth the stay - We spent 5 days at this resort. Their shuttle pick us up at the airport promptly. Our stay was in the three bedroom luxury suite. It is an awesome room with wonderful views of the ocean and the resort. One bedroom had a jacuzzi which was a bit difficult to operate and does take time to fill. Boil some water in the kettle and add for an extra hot soak. The other bedroom had two queen bed and the third bunk beds. Each room had its own bathroom. It was a beautiful suite and naturally had a living and dining area. Yama, a Japanese-restaurant, was delicious and had multiple area where you could get nice pictures. Food took a little bit but it was worth the wait. Tomato and Basil is advertised as an Italian restaurant but it also has Filipino fare. Service was spot on. However the best was the Rice Buffet. Food was delicious and warm. What made this restaurant stand out was the service! Nap, who I believe is the head waiter, was awesome. He saved our table everyday for our breakfast. He’d also make sure that my elderly mother did not have to wait in line for an omelet and got it for her. He was a pleasure to talk to. Our first morning there, I asked JM if there was any tuyo - a dried fish. The next day he brought some out just for me!!! It was a pleasure to eat there every morning. You just can’t beat the top notch service here! I highly recommend staying here. You can’t go wrong, everything is clean and well cared for. You can arrange tours with the front desk as well as some special dining packages.

The spa is also really nice and has the best massage services you will ever try. Left the spa feeling like walking on clouds. The staff went above and beyond and couldn’t have asked for more. Really happy with the decision of staying here during my first time in Palawan. Highly recommend!

I also want to commend their staffs who proactively offered activities, food, etc. For instance in the breakfast hall, they noticed I have cough and they approached me offering tea. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay was pleasant. The hotel's food is so so gooood. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Plus, it's just 15 mins. away from the airport.

We stayed at the water villa for 4 nights paying high price during low season. We were family of 3 with a child. We had booked thru hotels.com and clearly mentioned we were 3 and need an additional bed for our child. However during the checkin the hotel charged us additional 50USD/night for the bed which we felt was unnecessary rip off. We felt the checkin staff were a bit stuck up. Not friendly. The operations was also very old styled. Paper invoice for everything! They even gave us coupons for beach tower that we were supposed to exchange to get the towel and get it back when we return the towel. Seriously?? Water villa was spacious. However please note that it is enjoyable only if you are comfortable with mangrove and seaweed smell. Watervilla is surrounded by water only during high tides. i.e., between 7am-3pm. Hotel boasts about its private sandbar. Please note that this is not private. It is a public sandbar and some boat companies operate to bring non-residents to this sandbar. The recreational area is a bit run down, but u can play some games. The pool bar is always deserted. On a good note, the Japanese restaurant is awesome. Good food, great views and very good service. However, please note that it is closed on Mondays. The Italian restaurant is also good, but the chef seemed to like garlic a lot. You need to give specific instructions to the chef.

Courteous staff overall. Hot water was inoperative for 2 nights of our 4 night stay. If we travel to Palawan again we will try another area. Puerto Princessa is not a travel destination for beach or relaxation.

The pool was very spacious and I absolutely loved the pool bar, but i’d recommend to change the seats there in the pool. They were kinda uncomfortable and it left temporary butt marks on my cousin. There’s a a stray, dog and cat and we named them Goldie and loaf. Aside from all the stay was good!

We had a flooded room because the drainage of the bathrooms were not cleaned. We had to clean up the room in the middle of the night. 3. The staff are rude. The reports are never aligned. Reality: the flooded room was caused by the clogged drain in the showers. Report made to the management: the shower drain caused the flooding because of suds from the shampoo and soap. Like WHAT?! How can that clog drains. 4. There was no accountability from all the staff. Nothing is their fault. It’s either another team’s fault, or the customer’s fault. 5. Breakfast is not good. It’s served cold. We had to inform the staff that there was no food so that they could refill the chafing dish. 6. They don’t have enough employees to cater requests from guests. 7. Yama restaurant is okay but their tendon was served cold, the tempura was 80% flour, 10% crumbs, 10% shrimp. It was awful. 8. Everything is just surface level. From the outside it looks really nice. The photos are beautiful but when you really stay in the hotel, it’s just bad service. 9. Oh and to top it all off, we booked a spa for 5 pax at 8pm, we went there, the lady accused us that we didn’t schedule at all. In her words “sorry maam akala namin hindi kayo sure na magpa massage kayo”. We were not served. We were okay with it. But then the next day, we reported it to the manager, and wow, the reports said they served us. They served only 3 of us and the other 2 didn’t schedule. HOW WHEN AND WHERE DID WE GET A SPA TREATMENT. THEIR STAFF HAS NO ACCOUNTABILITY AT ALL. THERE IS NOTHING NICE ABOUT THIS HOTEL. Too bad I can’t share videos here. Overall, we are not staying here ever again. Value for money is not okay at all. The management should just close down this establishment.
