Guest Reviews
- Jeska (1/5): Filthy room - We were able to check in late without any issue and the room wasnt too squashy The room was filthy, bathroom mirror/vanity/windowsil/shower were disgusting, there was mould on the bed and the floor hadnt even been vacuumed.
Very loud surroundings including other guests partying and yelling most of the night and walls so thin you could hear the person coughing up a lung in the neighboring room.
We were meant to stay for 2 nights but left after the first night and booked somewhere else.
- Elissa Barnes (2/5): - The location was ok but had ppl from the pubs yelling and carrying on late at night early in the morning People that were staying at the motel would argue and fight every night and morning. Found glass on the floor in our room, the other rooms tap leaked all night and had no doonah on the bed just a sheet. No toilet roll holder, the swimming pool was green, the stairway was full of dirt and obviously hadn't been cleaned in months, We just felt unsafe with all the couples that were arguing at all hours.
The rooms looked nothing like what was advertised.
- Jason (5/5): Would stay here again - Close to everything Wasn’t very clean
- Amy (3/5): - Off street parking available Didn’t get the beds suggested in booking so had 5 of us had to share 2 double beds. Very run down, dripping taps, room smelt like cigarettes.
- Journey784868 (2/5): Do not stay here - Room given did not match photos online - definitely update photos to show what a crack shack this place is. No-one in reception, EFTPOS machine glued to the wall and a phone number to call who takes half a dozen tries to answer. The amount of mould in the bathroom was atrocious, especially all up the shower curtain. Bathroom had no windows for ventilation, no exhaust fan with a big hole left in the ceiling along with an exposed halo light globe and wiring with no cover on.
Bin bags hadn't been changed from last guest.
Real amazing specimens living at this place who have zero regard for anyone trying to sleep. Signs in rooms state quiet hour times but who is actually there to enforce it?
This property should be removed from accommodation websites. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere.

- Neale (2/5): Dirty, filthy motel!, - Nothing much. Where do I start? Airconditioning unit VERY NOISY, smoke alarm, BROKEN (Illegal), soap dispenser in bathroom, BROKEN, floors DIRTY. surrounds DIRTY. We arrived after dark so too late to go find another place. Shower tap had red " hot" button on cold water tap.
Wouldn't stay there again for QUIDS!
- Deb (4/5): Will definitely not be returning - Location was good close to pubs, restaurants etc The shower head was zip tied on and water sprayed everywhere when you used it, no toilet seat, hair in the shower, dirt on the floor, pool has rubbish floating in it, pool gate did not swing closed by itself and was open when we arrived, exit light hanging from the roof
- Jenny (3/5): - Location AC didn't work properly
No screen or curtain on shower.
Floors dirty
Wouldn't stay there again

- OBrien (1/5): Disgusting . No sleep for the fear of Cockroachroaches crawling over my face. - The internet was ok. The photos on the website are very false from reality of the venue. I feel this is major crime. The photos never showed the holes in the bathroom door that couldn't be closed. The photos didn't show the large number of cockroaches that were crawling over the beds. The photos never show there were No blankets. T.V. also didn't work. I am a Professional Musican who played for the Gladstone City Council for a event for the weekend. In all my 30 years of Motel stays I have never seen a Motel that was so falsely advertised.I feel because of no sleep and not being able to find alternate accommodation i should be refund fully or partially the fee i paid.
- Stuart (8/5): - Good location Nothing for the price
- Jonathan (1/5): - NA other guest smoking, doing drugs and loud screaming right outside the bedroom door of the accommodation. This was allowed to happen for hours and got worse as the night progressed. Felt incredibly unsafe, had to leave the accommodation at 8pm. Wouldn't recommend this site again.
- Kerrie (4/5): - I as. Where where do I start yeah I will start with I had no aircon as TVs that didn't have no TV remote then and then the pool had died and the pool area was locked up due to work health place and safety which could be from a number of things the kitchen area was disgusting I had got diarrhea the first night from cooking on it so I asked the cleaners about it and they responded to our cleaning every week in saying that there was a bag left with drug utensils and rubbish and stuff from a previous guest that I know moved out seven days ago so in saying she cleans it as being left in the pool area for say children to find just disgusting so I went about it as a cleaner by trade to clean up the full area myself and the kitchen I was aggressively told to stop doing this and to get out of this area you cannot do that I said well as not been claimed she said I claim it once a week and I prove that she doesn't because I stayed over this place a few times and I have photos from how it's got worse that's pretty much it was just unhelpful as a place there was some good bits the view that location was great but the rest
- Mardi (1/5): Never again. - Nothing. Broken shower door, blood on the walls. Was woken up at 3am to crackheads fighting right out front of my room. Would actually love a refund as I couldn’t even shower while I was there.
- vicki (1/5): - We got there and the manager had no idea we had rooms booked an payed for our rooms... between 10 of us we had 3 rooms booked 4 off us come from Tamworth NSW the rest Hervey Bay we were going to Heron Island for a holiday so have never been to Gladstone before.. the rooms were not clean mold on the shower curtains just dirty we were abit worried about staying there they were having some rooms sprayed for bed bugs Just a horrible start to our holiday All the years I have been up an down the states never had this happen Booking.com should look into this not was on your site 😉 who ever owns this property needs a big over all just saying... All
- Sarah (1/5): I left! It was revolting - avoid at all costs!!!!! - Absolutely nothing. I arrived late with my children to find a broken down smashed up car in the car park. We then opened up our room to find no blankets on the beds, cockroach faeces everywhere. I opened a cupboard to find blankets only to be met with the strong smell of urine. I sat on the bed and looked at the head of the bed which was littered in someone’s beard hair at least I hope it was beard hair but who would know. We left and got emergent accomodation at peppers down the road!! Do not stay here it is absolutely filthy. The worst place I have actually ever booked in my life. What makes it worse is I contacted the owner whose wife was insinuating I was lying. They promised to refund my stay but didn’t. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!! Absolutely nothing. - Toni (1/5): find another business that allows pets or sleep in your motor vehicle. - There was nothing that was likeable the dirty syringe in a draw.
mould was EVERYWHERE - bathroom, sleeping area. It was so bad we did not use the facilities.
the unregistered motor vehicle in the parking lot
reception was only contestable through a speaker. A curtain was pulled across the window and door of reception.
there was an eftpos machine outside reception so reception had no physical interaction with customers.
there was no toilet paper.
WE HAVE TRIED TO UPLOAD PHOTOGRAPHS, HOWEVER YOUR PROGRAM STATES THAT THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE TOO SMALL
- Begg (5/5): -
- Nicholas (10/5): -
- Meaghan (8/5): -
- bryce (1/5): bad.. - nothing everything
- Peter (1/5): This accommodation requires a health and safety inspection. and should be shut down until fixed. - There was only cockroach’s to eat. The building and room was filthy not maintained. The room was a health hazard.
- Martin (1/5): Appalling - Blood on the pillow, unwashed coffee cups dirty floors i took photos got a text message saying if anything was needed to reply to that number I told them about the bloody pillows dirty coffee cups floors etc and got no reply asked for a refund to get another motel room and still no reply cost extra money to buy new pillows to sleep in the car
- Cooper (10/5): -
- Ben (5/5): -
- Andrew (3/5): live and learn, will never go back. - peeling paint, uncomfortable bed, people shouting, dogs barking, smell of drug use
- Billy (2/5): I know not to stay there again - Very out dated
- Sorna (1/5): Sheets were littered with hair, room smelt musty, pillow smelt stale, bathroom moldy and dirty. -
- Marysel (1/5): -
- Bichel (4/5): -
- Paul (3/5): -
- theresa (10/5): I had a great stay I will be returning. - Great location good price and I could have my dogs .
- Assad (1/5): WORST NIGHT EVER WASTE OF MONEY - After doing an 8 hour trip to just come in and have a shower and get some sleep, however, when I walked in I was met with no towels no hand soap no shampoo no condition or no body wash and when I messaged the number provided it took 3 hours to get a response and I was told that he would get it for me tomorrow which I was pissed about because i was only staying the night and then checking out by 10am tomorrow and then to make it even more unprofessional he messaged me to go back to the safe where the keys are left and to get the room next us keys and to get the towels and everything else from that room which I was shocked with this response I have stayed at the is motel before and it was amazing service and great staff but the way it is going now i was a waste of money NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!!.
- Curtis (1/5): - Nothing It was very dirty
- Renee (4/5): -
- Christopher (1/5): -
- Jessica (5/5): - Convenient location. I was provided a room to which the key did not work. I was then given two other rooms before being able to get in after attempting contact with the property host for about 25 minutes. The room was mouldy and generally untidy (dust, lizard poo etc), however, the bedding was exceptionally clean.
- Melanie (5/5): Dirty dirty don’t stay here - The staff were rude the rooms were dirty, disgusting Dirty room with sticky flooring, shower had black coal all over the tiles one of the beds weren’t made from the people that were in it the night before. When I told reception they didn’t fix anything
- lu (5/5): - Location. No staff at Mackay.
- Ashley (6/5): Quiet n peaceful - The location of the room it was quite no one walking past or sitting out the front Fresh linens n extra condiments on the extra days we stayed
- Frances (7/5): Extremely economical, well-located and comfortable - Very close to river walks, parks and to shopping. Staff and management were friendly, helpful and pleasant. I’m not sure why so many negative reviews-my experience was very positive on both occasions that I’ve stayed here Not expensive,, beautiful big clean pool, minutes from food and coffee, and very quiet and peaceful. If you’re looking for a wallet-friendly clean, basic room for the night, with TV, air-conditioning, free wi-fi and decent bathroom, then give this place a go. Pet friendly too, which always swings it for me
- John (5/5): -
- Danny (6/5): -
- Mishelle (8/5): I enjoyed my stay, the other visitors were helpful and friendly - It was positioned centrally The shower wasn’t cleaned properly
- £3 (5/5): - It was good for the price
- fiona (3/5): Room clean but overall a shabby and rundown place - Nothing Reception closed and staff not helpful
Motel very grubby and shabby Outdide
Pool not clean
- Litzow (1/5): -
- £3 (4/5): Rooms needs cleaning better n aircon fixed power points etc. seemd love ke it neglected 🤔 - Roof n bed n shower instead of sleeping in my car. Room #26 was dirty, air conditioner makes too much noise/vibrates so I could hardly use it. Worst room here that I've stayed in
- Shaun (5/5): - A roof over my head and hot shower was all I needed
- Tiharny (8/5): -
- Kerry (2/5): Pretty bad - The photos were not in any way applicable.
The room was appalling.
Thankfully we only booked one night.
- karen (4/5): - There was no reception only a intercom saw no one
The room was just ok for a night
There was hair in the shower drain hole and mould on the bench near sink in bathroom
Not impressed
- Alma (6/5): - When you arrive, despite it saying reception is staffed during business hours, you have to call to get your room key because there's never anyone in reception. There was no instructions/booklet in the room which sets out expectations during the stay or nearby entertainment. I messaged twice asking for the wifi password but never received a reply so we had to use mobile data the whole stay. The wifi connection I was told to use didn't even appear in my wifi options, although 3 different midcity wifis popped up, all password protected. The bathroom door was brand new, not even a coat of paint was applied to it. It wasn't cut to fit the door frame properly and wasn't able to be closed. There was no hardware attached to the door either, no handles or anything. We ended up putting a chair up against the door when in use to stop the door swinging open. No dishwashing liquid or sponge to do dishes. Can't imagine dishes have ever been cleaned by previous visitors given the hair I got out of my coffee the first morning. No extra toilet paper either. One roll to last 2 people 2 nights. Loud tenants all hours of the night despite many signs throughout the complex about noise between certain times. Looked like someone had previously attempted to break into our room with damage around the key hole and entrance. It did the job for what we needed which was mainly just a bed at night but improvements need to be made.
- Justin (1/5): Would have to be the worst placs to stay . We arrived , checked in and booked another motel in the area . It was disgust - Nothing
- Taumata (10/5): Always welcome great service - Nil
- Leisa (1/5): -
- Gav (6/5): - Could be cleaned a bit better
- Jason (1/5): Absolutely terrible - Nothing Everything. It was a grubby muck hole. Looked like it was uncleaned for weeks. Not to mention there is no one onsite to manage the place. Plus I asked for a Tax invoice and have not seen one. Which left me paying for the bill for a place I left after one night. This establishment is
A stain on booking.com.
- Nathan (7/5): -
- Tanya (1/5): Not worth it - The double bed was firm The place was overall dirty, single beds were obviously old and too soft to sleep comfortably. Floors were filthy. No communication with staff other than a text. We were too tired to leave (travelling with elderly parents) as we checked in late but would have if we could have. It may have been cheap but no excuse for filth and poor condition.
- Wahlin (9/5): It was a good stay. - Didn’t have the breakfast. Comfortable and the staff were excellent. Nothing really.
- kelerat (4/5): Don’t book unless your ok with poor state - Crack in door, out dated decor, not clean.
Don’t come here unless you can live in untidiness. On a positive note, A/C worked well, smokers could smoke outside of room,
They allowed us to extend our checkout to 12 noon without added fees.
- Pamela (9/5): - Convenient spot. No confusion with payment. No trouble with getting the key. I couldn't work the air con for warm.
- Verified traveler (10/5): ok but dated - nice motel. helpful staff. the room was a little rough around the edges.
- Falls (8/5): -
- Alan (8/5): -
- Joel (1/5): -
- Susan (1/5): Unpleasant Stay - Location was the only thing we liked, close to Marina. However, we relocated to another motel for the following 2 nights. The smell when you walked in was disgusting, drain in bathroom was clogged up and extremely dirty, glass shower screen missing and hand basin taps cracked and there was no hot water at 5pm. Permanent tenants at the motel, fighting and arguing with each other at all hours of the night. Also noticed random person stealing bottles from all the bins at the motel.
- Nawaaz Khan (1/5): Not good at all - Nothing Very dirty and the bed was full of bed bugs
- lee (10/5): -
- Kate (1/5): -
- Elaine (1/5): - Nothing...Do not waste your money. The motel and surroundings are run down and dirty. There were cigarette butts around and the rooms were smelly and grubby. There is no interaction with any staff. The curtain, barely covered the window and was held up with a cable tie. At 3/4 am there were people outside swearing and arguing. It is time that someone from health department had a good look at the place. A poor advertisement for Booking.com...the room we were given was not what we saw on Booking.com, , and there was nobody on site to discuss it with.
- Matt (2/5): - Maybe they should rename this motel the Glado Crack den!
- Jasmine (2/5): - Once again change your cleaners that room 6 is falling apart black mould dust bunnies makes me sick too pay good money for a dog box room
- Colin (1/5): Never stay there again and will name and shame - Nothing was very dirty disgusting Need a good Reno
- £3 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Killian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Beckford (4/5): Disappointing - The airconditioning did not work. The maintenance was poor. The door entrance was Jammed some what .It is obvious the owner of the property is only interested in extracting every dollar he can with out putting effort into pleasing his customers
- Raelene (1/5): We didn't stay and found somewhere else - Quite location on centre It was unsafe, appeared to have residents living in other rooms. Benches held up with tape, walls filthy, just unkept, unsafe and unclean.
- Brenda (5/5): Needs some attention - It was in a handy location. The door was broken, and the room and bathroom were dirty.
- Hannahtibbey (1/5): Save your money, pick somewhere else - I never give bad reviews so this is HARD for me, the place was so bad.
The outside of the door to the room, near the lock beside the door handle - looked like someone had tried and almost succeeded to kick the door in at some stage - the wood was flimsy and as a single woman it was something that made me feel incredibly unsafe spending the night alone in the room.
Old pillows and duvets, no pillow protectors, and the pillowcases weren't put on properly.
The duvets were incredibly thin and worn, no extra blankets were provided in line with how cold the weather has been (winter).
The shower took 20 min for the water to heat up, and the washers on the taps need changing, they would only stop dripping if you turned them off with immense force.
No instructions were given about check in, until just before check in time - I hadn't even checked my phone as I was busy driving - so when I turned up I found that the office was not attended - only to find out from another person staying at the place, that the office is never attended, and it's a company in Brisbane that owns the property.
Hands down, was NOT worth $120 for the night. I've stayed in backpacker accommodation that was far nicer, had lovely linen and extra pillows, blankets and towels for only $60 a night
I honestly seriously contemplated booking another hotel for the night when I got home from dinner - as a single mum I really don't have the money to waste to do that, so I just sucked it up, wore lots of clothes to bed and pulled the thin duvet off the single bed in the room.
The photos and information advertising this place are VERY misleading.
- Chrissy (1/5): Nope - The room wasn't very clean. Bathroom stunk.of old urine. Which was evident in the outside of the toilet. The smell went through the unit. No shower screen or curtain. It was like the glass shower door was removed. The photos on the net are completely different from the room we were staying in. The pool area wasn't the best, again photos are different. The overall place needs a clean up and renovations. I wouldn't recommend staying there
- Aussie (1/5): The bed had an old and girdy appearance. It is a health issue for our children. - We did not find it enjoyable. The bed was dirty and the toilet door was not functioning properly. This motel was the most disgassing we've ever seen.
- Beasy (5/5): Strip back and clean the years of filth built up in corners, bathroom around loo, wash walls. Mop! - In the middle of city. Rooms are filthy. I cleaned mine before I could sit down. Bathrooms are especially gross. Build up around toilet and corners full of hairs.
Linen was dirty. And a mop doesn't seem to exist. The cleaner/mayor of mid city can be nasty, after beer at 9am she is a before beer/after beer change of personality and can be nice and helpful. Don't bother her first thing for anything though.Prostituting is normal. Police being there is normal. Something is always happening at the Mid City, aka crack city, Motor Inn.
- Beasy (3/5): Poor -
- Jowett (3/5): Poor - Location. Pet friendly. Rooms smelt like smoke and had fleas.
- J (6/5): Average - Average room in an average hotel
- Megan (1/5): Would never come again. - Option to have pets Being charged for pets and the pets not staying! The fact I found lots of long dark hairs all through the bathroom, pretty much had to tell my brain not to look at anything closely like the bed sheets or I wouldn’t sleep.
- Lachlan (1/5): terrible - the main door locked the bathroom door didn’t close
- Wayne (3/5): Poor -
- Bonner (1/5): very disappointing and the photos of the rooms on your website were nothing like what I stayed in. - The room was filthy and there was a fight in the car park at 6 am in the morning.
- Kim (2/5): Would have stayed to explore the town but could not stand another filthy night. - Room was dirty and the floors were terrible. lack of clenliness
- Janelle (1/5): Disgusting and disappointing - Nothing Room was not cleaned, bin full, dog hair on sheets and bedspreads, used soap in shower, sand on bench and on beds, smell in room.
Room was cleaned next day, asked for refund for first night and they went silent. Still trying to get refund after a week.
- Hannah (1/5): Bad -
