Guest Reviews
- Ann (10/5): - All good
- Ann (10/5): Comfy , clean safe and relaxing. - This is the 4th or 5th time I have stayed in The Grosvenor Lodge. The rooms are excellent and always very clean. The bed was exceptionally comfy. It's a buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. The housekeeper is kind and helpful. Very short walk from the Train station and Town centre so excellent base for this area. I am a senior women traveling on my own to visit family in the area.
- Louise (8/5): - Was clean and smelled really nice
- Michelle (10/5): Excellent value for money & lovely breakfast - Very clean
- francesca (8/5): Pleasant stay, wouldn’t mind to go back if in the area. Really really nice host - Perfect location, easy to find and access.
Room was beautiful and so was the dining area. Very clean and with a very well presented.
Nice touches for drinks. Unfortunately the room was a bit cold, the weather wasn’t the nicest and it did get a bit chilly throughout the night and the morning.
A couple of towels had make up stains on it.
- Laura (5/5): - Free parking Breakfast helped ourselves to basic breakfast. Room was stuffy and extra bed like a camp bed. Also on a busy road.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Will stay here again if I'm back in Christchurch - Very well organised hosts. Room was very clean and comfortable. It was only a short walk to the high street, restaurants, the priory, the river, etc. Decent breakfast. The staff were very helpful. My husband left a shirt behind and they very kindly posted it to us, asking only that we make a donation to a charity. All communications were prompt and helpful. We were very happy with our stay. Our room did face a busy-ish road and, though there were good blinds on the windows, it still a bit bright in the morning. However, we had our ear plugs and sleep masks with us, so it wasn't a problem at all. Just remember to pack them yourself.
- Julie (7/5): - Very clean
Lovely welcome biscuit The milk cartons in the hospitality tray were off
- Sophie (10/5): -
- Keith (5/5): -
- geoff (8/5): Adequate but would not revisit - Poor quality and la n of xhouce Size of room lack of personal service and milk in the room was out of date
- Cecilia (9/5): . - . the milk minis in the room had gone off. but not important as I got milk from the breakfast room anyway
- Paul (9/5): Good place to stay, easy to access and very comfortable - Easy to book and use Nothing
- Steve (8/5): Enjoyed the stay. - Clean, ideal location for us. Bathroom/Wet room smells damp.
- Grainger (3/5): - Cleanish and easy to park. Room was comfortable but cramped for 4 people. Facilities all lacking for a guest house. Water and ice available would be nice. Tea and coffee in room was all very old and milk was very off. Over priced for what they offered. More expensive than a hotel with facilites or a whole apartment to ourselves. Weird.
- alison (10/5): Loved it! - Lovely Guesthouse, easily parked on the front, the place was immaculate and lovely selection for the continental breakfast. Will definitely use again. Nothing
- Deborah (9/5): We were upgraded to a suite, where the facilities were excellent. Shame it was cold on arrival. - Clean, spacious, well finished, very well equipped. Room was cold when we arrived.
- Meryl (6/5): Good location - clean but cold and no means of controlling the heating - Good location for where we wanted to be We had been ‘upgraded’ to a mini suite at no extra cost - however, the room was cold - there was a thermostat for underfloor heating which didn’t work - the heating was off when we came home from our night out (about 11ish) - we had no control over the temperature
- f-gibbs@sky.com (9/5): - We had a lovely stay, and shortbread was a lovely gesture,Thank you. The room an Shower cubicle were quite small but ok for 1 night. We were disappointed to find that we couldn't park after we had been out,but someone I think who was staying there too said that there was a side road where we could park.

- Gary (10/5): Wonderful place to stay. - Lovely situation and a small walk into Christchurch high street. Free parking and lovely rooms. Absolutely spotless and was warm .Lovely continental breakfast .Good value. Nothing
- sid (10/5): i only stayed 1 night, very clean frendly owner lovely area - excellent
- Ann (9/5): Good value for money - All good..liked the breakfast arrangements.... The room had tiled floor which was cold on the feet as you stepped out of bed
- Mark (9/5): -
- Brian (9/5): Nice venue and well organised - Nice convenient location. Nothing
- Chris (10/5): Great stay, very comfortable - Great location for Christchurch, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Can't find any faults
- Helen (9/5): We had a great stay and would definitely recommend to friends and family - thanks so much! - Communication was great on how to check-in, the room was really clean and in a great location. The chocolate chip cookies were a lovely touch! The only (very small) piece of feedback would be that the shower temperature was a little temperamental
- Gleed (10/5): Very Nice Room in a Beautiful part of the World. - The Tesmo Coffee machine in the Room - Never experienced that before! If a Microwave could've been in the Room then I would've never Left! Bravo 👏
- Brian (9/5): - Lovely comfy room 5 star finish in room 4,only thing missing was a proper breakfast Breakfast
- Karl (10/5): - Fabulous one night stay at The Grosvenor Lodge. Staff were fantastic, very friendly, personable and welcoming.
The breakfast (included) was a great continental selection.
We were in the quad room at the very top. It was a very quiet place to stay and our family of four were comfortable enough. The bathroom was small and slightly awkward (being a loft room) and the shower could've been larger / more powerful.
All in all a great stay and will definitely visit again.
- Martin (10/5): - Lovely stay excellent facilities will stay again.
- Samantha (3/5): Guests left to self care , - Looks nice, white and shiny and clean. It was clean, they upgraded my room from single to double for free. Cold marble floor and cold glass furniture in room. One cold bagel and half a glass of orange juice left in breakfast room at 9am. No milk for cereal. Mattress is not fit for purpose.. No access to mains water. Hot water takes very long to arrive in shower. Breakfast (cold bagel) not available during times stated. Milk left in fridge for tea was rotten. Shower is too small to move in safely, mind your head and your elbows. Room was large but filled with many locked wardrobes so no actual floor space. Kitchen /breakfast room has no taps for mains water or sink for hand washing. No one on site to ask. Sent texts and left voicemail messages. Guests left to self care.
- Michael (9/5): Good location. Friendly hosts. Lovely breakfast - Location & friendly owners Compact room but ok for a single guest
- ken (9/5): Nice relaxing stay close to the town - The apartment we stayed in was an annex which had a gigantic bed a dressing room and a big lovely bathroom with walk in shower and separate bath everything was good inside . Breakfast was continental in the dining room of the main house The noise coming from water going down the drainpipe outside the front door
- Savage (8/5): - Very comprehensive choice for continental breakfast.
Comfortable bed. No shortage of toiletries. Restricted space in the shower.
- Doreen (8/5): - Good rooms
- N5199HBmartinh (10/5): Fantastic superb lodge. 5 Star - Beautiful establishment. Extremely clean. The decor was very modern and minimalist.
The beds are extremely comfortable and high quality bedding. Ample towels bathrobes and bathroom products.
Lovely area to get dressed.
Fantastic in room coffee machine and tea tray.
Breakfast was continental super fresh ingredients from meats and salmon high quality tea coffee and fresh orange juice to choose from with warm pastries and preserves.
Entry to the property was super easy (just follow the simple instructions)
We all slept very well both nights and the lovely lady was around should we needed anything.
Very impressed with Yaz and their communication before during and after our stay.
Would 100% stay again and recommend to others.
Such excellent value for money than staying in a mainstream hotel the little touches are just fantastic.
A lot of care and attention to detail is simply amazing.
- Polly (9/5): -
- Uwana (10/5): - I like how the room is clean and I like how my room was serviced when I'm going out. I like their breakfast. Very healthy. If I want to rest, because I'm feeling tired. I can rest.
- Jim (8/5): - Room was clean, large, comfortable, and beautiful, breakfast was lovely. Not keen on the no contact booking in system. Advert said parking available. This is not entirely accurate as it is first come first to park. I really wish businesses on booking.com would be more accurate in this regard.
- Jackie (8/5): -
- Heather (8/5): Very enjoyable, would go back. - Breakfast, location and room all good. Parking a little tight.
- Mark (9/5): - Breakfast.
Comfortable room.
Ambience On the last night, the guy in nextdoor room had his tv all night (he turned the volume down after I knocked on the door, but left it on..!). Spoke to the owner next morning- very understanding and offered free upgrade on future booking
- Karl (9/5): Great location, close to station and town centre, comfortable beds. - Everything Nothing
- Graham (9/5): Great Grosvenor - Breakfast, location, comfort, clean Room was small and a bit cramped
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent - So clean and modern. Owner had thought of everything Nothing
- Howard (8/5): -
- Navigator22705369091 (10/5): Fabulous stay in a perfect location - We stayed for 4 nights at this fabulous guest house, just over 5 minutes walk from the station and 15 minutes walk to the town centre.
We had room 4 which was huge, with a king size bed, dressing area and massive bathroom with a walk on shower and separate bath. The room is separate from the house, just a couple of steps from the main entrance. Everything was beautifully designed and decorated and spotlessly clean.
Breakfast is 'continental' and self-serve, managed by a lovely Brazilian lady, who kept everything replenished for the guests in the stylish dining room. There was cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juice, bread and pastries, meat, cheese and smoked salmon, as well as various coffees and teas.
Buses stop right outside the property for easy access to Bournemouth and further afield. We used the train to get to Poole in order to take a short ferry journey from the quay to Brownsea Island. It was also straightforward to access the New Forest by taking a short train ride to Brockenhurst - a pretty little village with a great walk on the New Forest National Park app. We also went for a lovely walk up to Hengistbury Head, along the cliffs, down to Mudeford's beach huts and back to the visitor centre and the excellent Hiker Cafe - an excellent self guided Voice Map walk.
We couldn't have had a better stay - many thanks to Yas and her team.

- Dylan (6/5): Availability was great. However the service has been let down. - Availability was great Breakfast was very poor,
The milk was sour
The bread was hard
I have used Grosvenor before and according to the lady staff, she asked why I wasn’t in a double room.
- Kirsti (10/5): Perfect little guest house. - Upgraded instantly when there was a problem at check in Nothing
- abdel hamid (10/5): Will use again if we are around as I said if not hot day - Location , staff very friendly , good breakfast , quite place even tough it was on main road , parking and above all the cleanliness of the place with attention to detail, spotless Aircon is a must , only stayed 1 night but we found the room small from what we usually get ,
- Heran Patel (9/5): Great value and confortable - It was a perfect place and a reasonable cost. I would stay there again Nothing really
- Jennifer (10/5): Excellent friendly guest house - Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location near the station and lovely clean room. Highly recommend!!
- Lin (10/5): Would recommend - Lovely guest house, spotlessly clean & secure. Had everything we needed. Comfortable bed & nice bathroom. Continental breakfast was plentiful. Nothing to dislike
- Claire (10/5): Great convenient location and easy check in - Nicely decorated and well maintained Nothing
- Alberto (9/5): -
- Minette (8/5): -
- Ann (10/5): Excellent - Cleanliness, facilities on bedroom and bathroom Breakfast
- Katie (8/5): Lovely - The spa smell when you first arrive is just amazing. Very homely, lovely place to stay. Comfy and clean. The one lady we saw at breakfast was very welcoming. Very clean. Would recommend.
- Christopher (9/5): Recommend a visit if staying in Christchurch! - Clean, everything provided, great breakfast! Situated close to the centre of town, Priory & river. Peaceful walk! Only a very small point! TV in attic family room kept turning off after 5 mins. No instructions how to avoid this! Did not spoil our visit, just a very mild irritation!😁
- sharon (8/5): If we are in the area we would definitely stay again - Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, didn't miss the cooked variety at all . Special thanks to Regina who keeps everything running smoothly & is so friendly & helpful. Her banana cake is great! Parking is a bonus. We had the triple room, beds/bath very good but bedroom is very small. You need to run the hot water for a long time to get to come through in the shower, then fine. But it seems a pity in these times of water shortage. Perhaps it could be fixed.
- Michael (8/5): Good for short stay - Clean and tidy and central for the town and bus Very busy road
- Anzhelika (10/5): -
- Madeline (10/5): - Great location
- Ann (9/5): -
- John (10/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay , would definitely book again if we go to that location .also adequate parking at front of property so no long walk with luggage
- Tony (9/5): Excellent and definitely coming back - Breakfast was excellent, suite brilliant and nicely isolated from main accommodation Breakfast was a little congested so pick the quieter times
- Sarah (9/5): Excellent location for one night work trip and walked down to beach for the evening - Upgraded to separate annex room. Very comfortable and spacious. Check in at entrance very easy and parking at front of property. Nice breakfast too. Nothing
- Simon (10/5): Very comfortable suite with an amazing bathroom within a short walk to the centre and beaches - The bed was absolutely massive and one of the most comfortable we’ve slept in Nothing
- Kathryn (10/5): I would stay here again. - There was lots of choices for the continental breakfast.
- Lee (8/5): -
- Fran (10/5): -
- gorbunov (10/5): It's a comfortable and pleasent place with perfict bathroom facilities. - Breakfast was excellent. We were enjoying the yogurt.
- Lubrecht (10/5): - Cudowny obiekt.wspaniala obsługa. Bardzo czyściutko I przytulne. Wonderful place. great service. Very clean and cozy.high recommended
- DEAN (10/5): - Nice modern room , clean & tidy
- Keith (9/5): We were only able to stay one night but will look for this B&B if back again. - Never had a self book-in before but it worked well and will work better if you add the hash key after the code, unlike what I did :-(. Room was ground floor which was very handy due to my wife hurting her knee on the way down. Very clean and large bathroom, bed very comfortable.
Parking very easy and onsite. Breakfast is a help yourself, no hot options available but other options were good and ok.
Plenty of places to eat locally, recommend the Ship Inn food very good.
- Tracey (9/5): Lovely place to stay, would recommend & stay again - Lovely & clean, great facilities, good location Hard to get hot water from the shower
- Uwana (10/5): - I like my room. I felt comfortable staying in my room. I like how I felt free staying here. The staff were very nice to me. I love their breakfast, so many options to choose from, and I like how healthy their breakfast is. I like how the guest house is not difficult to find. I like how my room was serviced when I went out. It is very clean. I also like how I can take my time to do things, freshen up, and get ready when I want to go out. I like it when I do things in my room, it is not noisy. This makes me rest assured that I am not disturbing anyone, and this is how I am.
- Suze59 (10/5): Fantastic - On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady, sorry can't recall her name, who believe was the housekeeper. We had booked online and requested a ground floor room due to husbands mobility and on being shown to our room it was located upstairs and not practical. The kind lady immediately called the owner who instantly upgraded us to a beautiful ground floor suite which was fantastic, 12 out of ten for customer service! Our stay was a lovely experience, the homemade shortbread on arrival went down a treat and the self serve breakfast was excellent. Christchurch high street was approx. 10 minutes walk and other locations are easily accessible by car or public transport. We met the owner, Yaz at our first breakfast, a genuine friendly person who has a very well run customer focused business with lots of home comforts. We would stay again if in area.
- Cecilia (8/5): - staff lady in charge was very helpful and charming. Iron on the landing was handy as I had an event to attend and outfit needed an iron! Loved the fact that we could use the dining room and crockery and cutlery in the evening. That is really unusual and meant we could bring back our fish and chips one evening and enjoy them in peace. The whole place is absolutely spotless. Comfy beds
- Tara (9/5): - The location was good to walk into town.
- James (8/5): -
- Shane Tymon (10/5): -
- Vivienne (9/5): Comfy but disturbed by noise - Had been before as liked it. There was noise from people round the back of the property next door till after midnight. Discovered it's social housing.
- mark (10/5): - friendly staff and worked very well without a receptionist , when checking in
- Huw (8/5): Enjoyable stay, though a little warm! - Lovely guest house in a good location for visiting the local area. Although no cooked breakfast available, breakfast was plentiful, varied and fresh - very enjoyable, staff were friendly when we saw them. Only negative is we had the quadruple room which is located in the loft, a well appointed room, however, the a/c unit was ineffective and couldn’t cool the room on what was a warm evening. The small skylight window in the bathroom and a small window in the main bedroom could be opened for air-flow, however, given the main road location, road noise meant we had to close the windows. Had we not had the foresight to bring a couple of portable fans with us, we’d have struggled to sleep. A more powerful a/c unit installed and all will be fine. Shower was a cheaper electric shower unit but it did the job. Overall, a pleasant 1 night stay and somewhere we’d come back to if visiting in the area again.
- Katey (10/5): - Lovely, would stay again.
- Judith (10/5): Perfect - Spotlessly clean. Clear and easy instructions. The room was cool and quiet despite being next to a road on a warm eveing. Lovely to be able to use the dinning room at any time. Highly recommended.
- Holly (10/5): - As someone that’s always stayed in chain hotels I thought I would give something different a try and I am so happy I did! The hospitality was incredible and felt so personal and homely. The room was beautiful and everything inside was high quality. The place has a real family feel without losing any of the cleanliness and professionalism of a chain hotel. I come to Dorset yearly so you have gained a new customer! Thanks again for everything.
- Maggie (2/5): - It wasnt suitable for us, ass what we thought was a smasll double rooom was, in fact a single rooom wirh a doublle bed and very little room each side to move each side. Only one chair to sit on, and not much room to put our cases. Even with the windows oopen, it was very stuffy and cramped for 2 people. I think that £128 per night was over priced. We left after the first night and were happy to return home to our more comfortable bedroom.
- wheeler (8/5): It was a nice clean place to stay with good facilities and close to the station. - I enjoyed my breakfast My bed was uncomfortable
- Crouch (10/5): Excellent - The bathroom was very roomy and having a Natcafe a bonus
- Annie (10/5): Everything was first class, we were delighted . -
- Gill (9/5): - Very handy to visit our friends. Handy for Christchurch. Everything we needed. On a main road so getting in and out of parking area difficult and limited space, but there are side roads nearby.
- BENOIT (9/5): -
