Guest Reviews
- Ashton (6/5): - The property was ok. The room only appeared to have floor heat which took forever to heat up the room. My room was so loud, with kids running in the hall every night and the lobby blasting piano music 24/7. I never received any housekeeping. And I was downgraded when I check in from a one bedroom to a studio room. The location was great and walkable. And the hotel pays for the taxi too and from the airport which was convenient. Other than that, there were no additional amenities on the property.
- James (6/5): - I’ve stayed 3 times over a 3 year period and the TV in the hotel hasn’t worked once. Always the same tired excuse at the front desk as the desk staff have to lie on behalf of the hotel . Most hotels have had working TV since the 1950s
- John (6/5): Average stay - The stay was ok. Front desk staff was helpful but could only do so much. TV had 2 working channels, there was no remote in the room.
- Guy (10/5): - Great staff! Spacious room and conveniently located. I was able to walk everywhere without taking a single taxi. I highly recommend it.
- Norman (4/5): - Didn’t like that I was required to give visa number 3 times
- Kate (8/5): - Good location, friendly staff. Bed wasn’t super comfortable, and rooms were dated but for how remote inuvik is, it would be a good place to stay. We would stay here again.
- Hardy (6/5): Functional, not as fancy as advertised - Moderate priced (for area), room I was placed in was very run down and in need of repair. Blinds were damaged, and black out blinds removed. Carpet heavily stained (but appeared clean). Bathroom was not fully cleaned, many areas missed (urine beside/behind toilet on cabinet side, insides of door, drawers very dirty, top of hairdryer had lots of dust). Bed was adequate, not super comfortable like they claim. Old Flat screen tube TV with poor reception (static'y), no air conditioning.
Functional, but not super fancy. Management offered to move me, for my second and third night, but I had a lot of my crap moved into room and declined, as I had used the top comforter as a drape, and moving was more of a pain in the ass. Not quite as spiffy as advertised
- Julie (8/5): The place to stay! - The Capital Suites is a great place to stay in Inuvik! It’s within walking distance to restaurants and the store. The staff are friendly! The check-in takes too long, but that is my only complaint!
- Norah (8/5): Enjoyed my stay - Nice hotel and friendly staff.
- K (6/5): - Extremely comfortable beds and pillows. Convenient location. Needs a bit of maintenance overall, but good for region.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Easy check in, shuttle service, clean and accommodating
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Housekeeping: The garbage is not taken out from the room.
- Sharon (8/5): overnight stay - Great spot for an overnight stay on route.
- Stephen (10/5): - At the end of a long road the accomodation was perfect for our requirements. Clean, smart room with small kitchenette. Front desk staff were there to help with anything if required
- Fred (6/5): - Good
- John (6/5): - The bed was clean, but items such as the toilet and shower were poorly maintained and the entire hotel smelled like pot.
- Courtney (10/5): - Very friendly staff
- Julie (8/5): - I enjoy the local artist craft display's, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice people but hotel may need Renovations - The staff are nice, but build needs update. We stayed two nights at the room at first floor, it’s too hot to stay not mentioning falling sleep, the AC unit does not working. And finally they switch the room for us, and everything is fine after.
- Martina (8/5): - Property could be alittle cleaner and staff is not too bright
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was not clean. Garbage overflowed and the kitchen towels were dirty
When asked to clean, the staff were very defensive
- JP (10/5): - This is my favorite hotel north of sixty, it is always clean and quiet, and is a short walk from everywhere I need to go in Inuvik.
- Charles (10/5): - Good central location. Nice to have kitchen for meal prep and laundry too. Gym pass for the recreation complex next door is a bonus. It was closed due to holiday during our stay, but there was a baseball tournament to make it for that. Great find!
- Socaljane (6/5): - The room was very very warm
Check-in seem to take forever
Could not get the Wi-Fi to work
- Verified traveler (8/5): Inuvik Visitor - Great, convenient location. Good in room amenities and coffee give cost of eating out.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very nice hotel. - We found this hotel to be better than expected. It was very clean. Beautiful lobby.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Ok to sleep no restaraunt the front desk actually gives you directions to the closest restaurant
- Eric (6/5): Inuvik Visit - Annoying to have to reboot internet each day with a new password. We stayed in two different rooms for our two stays and both rooms had toilets that were not properly secured to the floor so they rocked in position. The laundry room had only one of two washers functional and was not very clean ie: soap caked into dispenser but no paper towel available to clean it out. Staff were friendly and one helpful fellow took me to laundry room when I was lost.
- maggie (10/5): Nice hotel, great staff - Hotel is was clean , and the rooms very comfortable. The staff at reception really helpful and always in a good mood, especially Wayne. They also helped with the transportation to the airport. I will stay there again when back in Inuvik.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good hotel - The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and professional.
- James (10/5): Nice place! - Very cozy place!
- Pamela (8/5): Overnight in Inuvik - Whatever you do first pop into the local Visitors centre, as they have all the local information on the happenings around town - plus ideas of where to eat etc. try Alistines, local food but get there early as she sells out quickly. Unless you are going to take a boat ride or flight to Tuk , or say that you have driven the Dempster highway not lots of things to do, once you visited the Church, or the greenhouse, or perhaps the Science facility.Capital suites was clean and tidy inside the rooms, the passages are a bit dingy, but the fitness room was good on 3rd floor ,and a guest laundry. The suite was clean and tidy and had a nice mini kitchenette.
The receptionist was not terribly helpful and they would not assist me to book my next hotel when I was unable to get reception on my cell phone . ( Eagle plains hotel ) Eventually i went to the visitors centre and they assisted me immediately! This hotel and possibly Mckenzie are about the best in a small town. PS Check out the golf course and dump for bears early morning or late afternoon... they have quite a few regulars.
- Achim (4/5): Big difference between description and reality - For example: only one chair in the room for two two people.
- GRD (8/5): Nice clean property right in town - Stayed 5 nights on business; staff were helpful and polite; next time would go for the full kitchen which is worth the extra $40 per night given the limited restaurant options in Inuvik
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice lobby - great front staff -- Unfortunately no King beds -- small bathroom - kitchen facilities, microwave
- Ali (8/5): Feel at home in Inuvik - My stay at the Inuvik Capital Suites was great. Carla and Steven at the front desk are super friendly and helpful. The toom was spaceous and comfortable. The kitchenette makes the room complete.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - Overall good
- Marlis (6/5): - Kitchenette was very useful, given the few restaurant options, especially for breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): passing through - Loved the kitchenette facilities.
- Verified traveler (8/5): great stay - Kitchenette was very useful when town restaurants were closed
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent facility and staff - The hotel sent a free cab for me within 5 minutes of landing in the airport. Beautiful rooms with full kitchenette. Fitness center. On the main street to see sights, museums, and shops.
- Brian (10/5): Nice hotel-within walking distance to downtown. - The stay was great, however it would've been nice to know what to do around town such as current posters or just by staff suggesting things to do.
- Brian V (8/5): Room only - Nice comfortable room, and the kitchenette came in handy, but most of the facilities listed on hotels.com (restaurant, pool, sauna, mini-golf, on-site fishing etc) simply aren't there. There is a fitness and a couple of vending machines but that's about it. They do have a free scheduled shuttle service to/from the airport provided by a local taxi company, but you may need to ask.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A good stay. - A good stay. Clean and tidy. Good setup in the kitchenette with all the bits that you need. Better than some of the other kitchen setups. In floor heating takes a while but works fine. Would certainly stay here again.
