• Michael (10/5): Westby Guest House - Duncan was a friendly host, the Westby is in a fantastic location for The O2 Academy where I was attending a concert. It is only a short walk to the local shops and Boscombe Pier and beach. I was happy with everything.
• Penny (10/5): A wonderful relaxing stay - perfect loaction to explore the whole Bournemouth area - Everything about this guesthouse was perfect.... The host is wonderful, the location is incredible, it's so peaceful and extremely relaxing and comfortable. There is a lovely dining area with a wonderful cooked breakfast available and a selection of cereals on offer. We will definitely return and would stay for several nights in future as there is so much to do . It is a 5 minute walk from the O2 Bournemouth, 5 minutes walk from Chaplins (a great night out and wonderful dinner) and an 8 minute walk from Boscombe Pier and beautiful beach. If you haven't got a car, it's walking distance from Pokesdown railway station. To top it all off we saw a seal off Boscombe Beach! We loved every second of our stay. -

As I arrived quite late on my first night (around 11 pm), he kindly contacted me in advance and explained clearly how to collect the key and complete the self check-in, which made everything very smooth and reassuring. The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable, with everything I needed during my stay. Nothing in particular. Everything was comfortable and well arranged.

Duncan is a fantastic host, great communication and lots of advice about the local area. Cooked breakfast in the morning was excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again when in the area.

We had a great freshly cooked breakfast, 3 mins walk to the O2 but still quiet. Lovely facilities and really clean. Would 100% come back and stay, particularly if we are going to the O2 again.

• Sally (7/5): It sufficed. - The owner is very welcoming, the room clean and facilities good. Location was good, and was my priority, as refurbishing a property locally. No desk or dressing table - only chest of drawers, so eating in the room and using my laptop was difficult. Also, the thinness of the walls meant I didn't get a lot of sleep due to the force-coughing / clearing of throat from a man in the next room. The mattress was a bit firm and bumpy and not as comfortable as I would have liked.

From the moment we arrived, Duncan was incredibly friendly, polite, and helpful—he honestly couldn’t do enough to make sure everything was just perfect for us. His warm welcome made us feel right at home straight away. The room itself was spotless, airy, and bright, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was clear a lot of care goes into keeping the place so clean and inviting. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable experience, and we left feeling completely relaxed and well looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend staying here! It's not the closest hotel to the beach but was close to where we needed to get to.

• Fleur-nichole (10/5): Wonderful! - Upon my arrival, I was met by the owner Duncan. He was very helpful and friendly and carried my suitcase up to my room. The room was extremely clean and was a good size. The bathroom was spotless and also a good size. The bed was comfortable, and the bedding smelled nice and fresh. I work away from home so it is good to find somewhere nice and comfortable to stay. I did not have breakfast as I left early for work. However, you have the option of a continental or cooked breakfast. It is handy as there is a fridge and microwave if you wish to store/heat your food. The area is quiet and there are local shops/restaurants within walking distance. I had everything I needed for my stay and will definitely stay here again. Thank you, Duncan. Everything was perfect.

• Veronica (10/5): Home from home 💯😀 - Duncan was and is a brilliant host as he was supporting my journey before I had arrived at The Westby through text message and even sent me the breakfast option, so I had an opportunity to pick. When I arrived, Duncan explained all the logistics, and that was it. My stay had begun. The whole experience was fantastic, very homely and friendly. Also the location of The Westby was perfect, 10 minutes walk to the Pier and 20 minutes to Kings Park. Absolutely amazing 🎉🎉🎉

I always think when I stay somewhere the key questions are what were your expectations when you booked and how did the place perform relative to those expectations. The Room was very clean, bed very comfy with tea & coffee facilities. I like that Duncan is Very Eco conscious, with recycling Bins for his Guests especially. Continental Breakfast was very good, (the cooked breakfast looked amazing), plenty of cereals & Juices available as well. The Location was brilliant, just a short walk to Boscombe Pier & the sea front. The nearest Bus stop to Bournemouth was also a short walk away.
