Guest Reviews
- LISSO (8/5): - Quiet place
- Mike (10/5): - Perfect
- Nadine (6/5): - I did not like the fact that when getting ready to go out, there were no water to shower. Had to go to front desk on two different occasion for that.
- Rony (10/5): - It has a beach right by the hotel.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The hotel is beautiful, and typically has great amenities. Hotels are struggling to offer menus and 24/7 electricity in Haiti due to the insecurity and political turmoil. But this is my favorite hotel in Jacmel!!
- JULES (8/5): - The food was amazing 😉 and the pool was great the views were amazing in the room and at the restaurant.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It is not a clean place. I would not stay there again.
- Alet (8/5): - Amazing view. Great pool. Average on food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - J'y reviendrai. C'est sûr. Bel endroit. Cadre agreable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great property! The best in Jacmel! This will be our go to from now own whenever we travel there. Very clean, very friendly staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - They have an exellent good breakfast buffet. The finish of the property itself is not appealling.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet and secure, air conditioning. View and access to beach.
- kathleen (6/5): - Restaurant service was terrible. Several times we waited more than an hour after we ordered to get our food. Many items on the menu were not available. A beautiful location but no other restaurants are close. We were told a taxi would cost $40US each way. Can’t recommend.
- Florence (8/5): Good vaca - Customer service is excellent.
The hotel is positioned right in front of the beach, as a result, the views are amazing.
The room need some updating and the bathroom can be cleaner.
They had entertainment on new year eve. Food and drinks are very good.
- Stan (8/5): A decent hotel with an amazing staff - The staff were amazing. The hotel need some upgrades. They don’t have a gym and no direct access to the beach. The view and the staff make up for what the hotel is lacking. So I was pleased with my stay.
- Guybert (6/5): - Cap Lamondou is an okay hotel for Jacmel, Haiti. The hotel has some of the best views. The staff are really nice people. However, the actual building is rundown. The generator runs all night just in case you desire sleep. There was no hot water.
- Wendel (8/5): Mediterranean Jacmel - Great Americanized hotel in Jacmel with a private beach. Positioned on a bluff overlooking the ocean it reminds me of the Mediterranean scene.
- Lunise (8/5): Satisfied - It was amazing, i would recommend to a friend
- Traveler (6/5): Probably the best in Jacmel - Difficult road to drive to get there, A/C went off in the middle of the night and WiFi never delivered any Internet
- Anneliese (10/5): Really enjoyed the stay. Unforgettable! - Loved the area, extraordinary beach views from the hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location, awesome staff but a bit pricy being that there's no entertainment in the hotel.
Management should consider adding some form of entertainment for guests
- Damien (10/5): It is a very nice hotel near the sea. -
I like this hotel. For me it'is the best in Jacmel
- Pat (10/5): Great hotel for volunteers - Have been staying here for a number of years during NGO trips and it is always good.
- rochener (10/5): Very clean - I had a great time during my stay
- Joe (10/5): Very good - Nice place
- Jeff (6/5): Needs more attention to details - First off, the hotel is cute and comfy. Tge staff are ok and polite. The rooms a big, and new mattress.
But the hotel needs a full coat of paint! Access to the beach is a good walk down in dirty stair, with leaf and branches. The beach is full of garbage locals left there, and it's rocky beach.
As for the pictures with the 12 long chairs, well only 2 brokens one left. The breakfast lady making pancakes, she is not there, not for the 7 days we were there. Breakfast is scramble eggs and few other things, that's all. Lunch are ok, few thing are out of, and they do not resupply. The dinner main meals are really good.
Room 103-104, 203-204, 303-304 are near the noisy generators, so in the middle of the night, they will wake you up.
But the place is clean, a/c works well and the mattress are comfy, the food was ok to good and the view is amazing.
- Nicole (8/5): - The hotel was nice. Service was excellent. The only drawback; we had to drive about twenty-five minutes east of the city to go to beach at Raymond Les Bains in Cayes Jacmel, because the beach behind the hotel is not too appealing.
- Maurice (8/5): Très bien - Bien
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful view. Nice beds. Balcony - Secure armed guard. Fabulous ocean view. Nice balcony. Mediocre breakfast. Actual beach was not really usable. Food and drink a little pricey.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was great. The hotel needs to upgrade TV to flat screen.
- Guerda (8/5): The hotel could be better - A maintenance program should exist in order to remove stuffs that are no longer useful and repair where is needed. Lack of paints in the rooms there is too much in Jacmel for having a hotel room without paints.
- Guy (8/5): - The view is absolutely stunning. The hotel is older, but had everything we needed for a short stay. It was quiet and peaceful. Food was nothing special and service was fairly slow. Overall we would stay there again to enjoy the view and the peace and quiet.
- Sylvie (4/5): Slow and pricey - The hotel is location in a beautiful spot but the service was slow and pricey
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great View! - Hotel staff was friendly and the view was amazing!
- Jessica (8/5): Great stay, would stay again - By Haiti standards, this hotel had about everything I needed: air conditioning, no mosquitoes in rooms, hot water for the shower, delicious complimentary breakfast, and approximately one English channel that I watched some Aliens on. One main thing that could have been improved sad the reliability of the Internet--it didn't work for me at first, but luckily spoke with an employee who reset the router for me, and then it worked. Was occasionally available from room, but I couldn't rely on it.
The view from my room was incredible and jaw dropping. Took a dip in the pool, too.
- Zofia (10/5): nice and simple - simple and nice
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant and very nice hotel with good food - One day stay. Present security, pleasant and nice receptionists. Good food, nice prices. Agreeable staff that was service minded. The room was very nice. The safe was out of order and useless. 3 TV channels is not really much to have a TV up for. Free WiFi in the room makes up for some of that.
- Mark (10/5): Excellent hotel and pristine locaton - The Hotel is on the outskirt of the Caribbean Sea and the location is beyond what Haiti has to offer. Many people wouldn't believe that pictures I took there are really from Haiti. The wonderful morning sun and the dawn hours took my breath away and I cant wait to take my entire family to this place. It there is one word to describe the experience it would be: "WOW".
- Verified traveler (8/5): Heaven on earth! - The streets could be paved before getting into the hotel. For the price payed, the construction should be up to par. Great customer service but no entertainment at all. No music by the bar and place was completely dead. The view was just breathtakingly beautiful. The setting is very nice overall. Food was great. Great customer service and would definitely recommend it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - one of the best in Haiti. Very accommodating.
- Vickie (8/5): Beautiful view and delicious food
- We had a great stay. The rooms were spacious with a fabulous view of the Carribean Sea from the balcony. The food was delicious and the service was great. The only things negative was the ladder into the swimming pool was broken and the the shower faucet was loose.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great View, Good Food - The view was beautiful, the pool was nice but had way too much chlorine! The food was good but the service was slow and some things took so long that we eventually just gave up (drinks one night and extra pool towels) Room was comfortable but advertised satellite tv. In reality it was only 1 working channel. Overall the stay was pleasant and we will be going back.
- Annie (8/5): Great hotel, poor service - If you want a hotel that is well located, Cap Lamandou is good. The view from the terrace is spectacular. There are stairs that go directly down to the beach although you must be in shape to climb them back up. Room was fine, nothing impressive. Food was good and very affordable compared to other hotels we visited in Haiti. The staff is not very enthusiastic or friendly. Overall, I would recommend it.
- Brent (4/5): Beautiful Jacmel on the Beach. - No running water in our rooms the morning of the marathon race. Occasional power blackouts. No mosquito nets on the beds. The windows did not seal tight and insects could enter. Armed guards protecting the entrance to the hotel property. The food was good and safe.
- Sharon (6/5): Nice but disappointing
- Lovely view & setting, but pool broken, Internet sporadic, beach is 200 stair steps down, dining staff not friendly.
- H B (10/5): Please check out Cap Lamandou; you'll love it - Cap Lamandou has a breath taking view of Jacmel Bay from a cliff, reminding me of the French Riviera. The rooms were clean. The architecture was modern and tropical. The space was well maintained; the pool inviting. For a relatively small town in a country with limited resources, Cap Lamandou settings exceeded all my expectations. The price was reasonable and the beach 200 feet away. The last quarter mile of road leading to the hotel was however disappointingly not in shape and should be addressed.
- Gail (8/5): Room with a view - Almost everything was very good but there should be vegetarian options on the menu. The breakfast was not good. The literature said there was a fitness room but it is still in a state of being renovated and is not at all functional: that was a disappointment.
- Rick (10/5): A little piece of heaven - The hotel was surprisingly very nice. It was very peaceful and the views from the hotel were breathtaking.
