Guest Reviews
- Davilard (8/5): - I like everything
- Alex (10/5): - Always a pleasure to be at Cyvadier ❤️
- Alex (10/5): - I love this place ❤️
- Stephenson (10/5): - A new experience that I do not regret. It was really wonderful for me, I am happy because I made this choice
- Julia (10/5): - Everything was awesome, nice staff very friendly and ready to assist.
- John (6/5): - No lighting during morning time. Not good.
- Gelin (8/5): - Nice
- Lormandy (2/5): - You cannot have a hotel and you have no backup generator you're dying and close early there's no way for food you cannot have a hotel when you have just the door to come in one window which is located in the bathroom no other windows to let air in.
- Dieugrand (10/5): - I like service specifically the cleanliness
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the view of the ocean
- Rachel (10/5): Relaxing! - This was my second time visiting and it was very relaxing!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful property with an amazing view - The property itself has amazing views of the ocean. Depending on your room location, you can in fact lull yourself to sleep listening to the ocean waves. A beautiful thing!
The restaurant has some of the best food I've experienced & I travel frequently so that's saying a lot. Kudos to the chef here, especially the lobster! Delicious!
The property, rooms, social areas/common areas, restaurant are all very clean & neat. Housekeeping staff are also very kind & welcoming.
If you are a solo female traveler, book the Queen room or a suite as it's on the second floor so there's a sense of safety. I don't stay in first floor rooms anywhere I'm traveling solo simply because of that sense of safety on an upper floor as opposed to first floor. Having said that, the property is very safe. There was a bit of a miscommunication about this (being a solo female traveler & being on the first floor. It *is* what I booked not realizing the room was on the first floor & when I expressed my concern, it wasn't understood that that was my concern when I asked for a second floor room). The front desk associate simply thought I didn't like the initial room, not the case. We got it all worked out & all was well!
Definitely give this property a stay. Well worth it! Haiti is magnificent! And Jacmel is a gem!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - If you are looking for paradise on earth you don't have to look far . This place is private and it will grow on you without noticing . The staff is extremely friendly and the view is amazing .....
- jacqueline (8/5): Wonderful - It was a very nice and clean property. The property is a 10-15 minute drive to the center of Jacmel. The ocean view was beautiful from the property. Perfect for a sunset romantic dinner. However, you can’t go in the water. It’s just too choppy and unsafe. Another down side, none of the rooms had televisions. My husband was looking forward to watching the NBA games and was highly upset to discover there was no television in the room. They do offer a television near the bar area. The food was over priced but delicious. I had the lobster which was to die for. The staff was polite and professional. Felt the bar lady was being over worked. She served as a bartender, waitress and she was cleaning the common areas. They should get more staff to assist. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
- Claudyne (8/5): Great for the Province - Great for a province location in the country side. Random routine power outages and a whole day with no WiFi. Overal I enjoyed my stay but prepare for these. No tv in rooms my guy was not pleased 😂 couldn’t watch the games.
- Michael (10/5): Excellent stay! - The stay was very relaxing and excellent. The staff wal very friendly and helpful. During a rain storm, my room had a small leak in the ceiling, and the staff helped me move to an upgraded room.
The views and grounds are beautiful and the food was excellent at breakfast and at other meals tat we purchased. The location is near to the public beach up the road where you can buy an excellent fresh fish lunch, and within easy range of Lakou New York in Jacmel - entertainment, shopping, and food.
- nicka (8/5): A SLICE OF PARADISE IN JACMEL - The home itself is beautiful but the food is what I mostly remember. I recommend for a stay in Jacmel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Thank you for the amazing service. It was a pleasure to spend some days with my wife at Cyvadier. Love the breakfast and safe location
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good Hotel in Jacmel - I definitely recommend The Cyvadier. The staff is nice, the rooms are good but I could have use newer tools. The restaurant is beyond amazing and the view breathtaking. I would go back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Amazing view ! - The Cyvadier is one of the best hotel in Jacmel ! I really enjoyed my stay, the food is very good and the view brethtaking !! I highly recommend it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There was no climatisation in the room, but that was no problem, the room was fresh.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The place was ok, but there were some disappointment with the staff. Plus my room has roaches. It's ok they need to train their staff a little better. I love the view of the water.
- Dennis (10/5): Gem of Jacmel - Unexpectedly beautiful campus. The staff was amazingly polite and noninvasive. The rooms were clean and the view off the water is stunning. Food served was delicious as well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff and property were lovely, helpful, and talented in the kitchen/bar. The massage service was a great option offered, and the scenery was amazing. My room was very close to reception, and so I heard everything all the time. I didn't like the time of the day that was selected to turn off electricity, which was in the morning. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would return in the future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very private. Only 28 rooms. If your way of relaxing is tranquil, peace and quiet and attentive service, this is the place for you. If you like lots of activities, lots of people in a loud bar and around the pool you should look for something else.
we loved it :)
- FC (10/5): - Great area and great view the staff is amazing and the owner is always there to as you if everything its okay 👍👍👍👌👌👌
- Becky (10/5): - You'll think you're in paradise when you step behind the recepion desk. It quiet, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. There is an amazing ambience created by your gorgeous surroundings, the sound of the ocean waves crashing, friendly staff members, the fragrance of delicious food from the open restaurant, and the many cabana offering comfortable outdoor furniture for relaxing or playing games.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Worst hotel ever, whatever pictures they showed was not the same, beach front, not! Our room has mold, bugs, no AC. The breakfast was blaaaah, lunch was worst. I would never recomand this to any human being. Live to learn not even 1 star.
- Momo (8/5): Positive stay - We only stayed for an evening, but had a positive experience. The room was clean, food wasn't overpriced, staff were very friendly and accomodating. Very relaxed atmosphere. Also, highly recommend sunset yoga every friday and saturday!
- Yves (10/5): - It was a lovely hotel, and the staff was really nice. The pool was clean and the beach was beautiful. It was my wife's first time in Haiti, and she had so much fun that she wants to go back next year.
- Martine (8/5): A pretty good experience - It's a pretty good experience. The rooms are OK, the staff smiling and efficient. The sea is pretty wild there, so do not go for the beach. If you want to fall asleep with the sound of the waves … this place is all you need.
One downside during my stay, the minimalistic breakfast. Though, tums up for the chef, the omelet was very well prepared.
- Nano (10/5): Wonderful visit! - Beautiful hotel outside of Jacmel - the grounds were gorgeous and the staff was wonderful. Only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed more!
- Chris (4/5): Poor staff, poor communication, good food! - The staff at this hotel were ridiculous! The two different reception staff we met both had an air of arrogance and we're just not helpful at all. Particularly the guy when checking in. Check in was atrocious. We were put in a room with no hot water, no Internet access, and only to find also that the electricity we goes off at 9am every day (but we were not told about it when checking in)
After a couple of complaints on the first night, the Internet was sorted.... After numerous complaints leading into the 2nd day and lots of denial about the water situation, we were moved to a complimentary room (still with water issues). After complaining about the electricity we were told that Expedia should have informed us about it and that if we booked through them, we would have been told of the lack of electricity from 9am. However, a quick look on their website shows that they claim to have electricity 24hrs a day. Clearly false advertising.
When checking out we were told that on the night before we might have been given more change than we deserved at the bar...ridiculously false claim which I challenged. And then after we left I got a call asking if we had taken one of their towels... Yet another false claim.
It might sound very exaggerated but this is an honest depiction of our experience. To guests considering staying there, I'll say stay somewhere else but do go to the hotel for their drinks and for their reasonably priced food. That it! Avoid sleeping there at all costs!
- Norman (10/5): 5 stars - Upon arrival, the administration welcomed us with zeal and grace. They went out of the way to make us feel welcome.
All during our stay, all the staff was excellent.
- Marie (10/5): A little beachfront paradise - I truly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Cyvadier.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Right on the Caribbean! - What a beautiful place to relax a few days, shop the art markets of Jacmel, or work from the hotel. I brought my daughter and grandson for their first trip to Haiti and we loved it there! GO to see Baisson Bleu ...if you have a high clearance vehicle!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful hotel, very nice people - It couldn't be better. The grounds were beautiful the employees very friendly. No need to look elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - Staffs are wonderful and knowledgeable.excellent customer service
- Doris (8/5): Lovely gardens, some rooms overlook ocean - Lovely gardens, some rooms overlook ocean. Also, area for computers, TV, just meeting with friends. Staff and owner/manager are wonderful. Inexpensive rooms are adequate but nothing special. It's the general atmosphere and location that are superb. I have been coming here for 30 years.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Welcome again - Cyvadier is a place we visit to get time to relax, catch up on correspondence and plan activities. The tranquil environment and unobtrusive attention of the staff make Cyvadier an ideal place for this. There are improvements each time we visit and this time we appreciated the faster internet.
The menu is varied and we appreciate the quality of the dishes.
- Tim (8/5): Great Hotel! - Highly recommended if you are staying in Jacmel!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Won't find better!! - Love, love, love!! Staff is so kind and friendly, the owner and family were wonderful and greeted us immediately upon check in. Pool is a good size, food is amazing! Ate at the restaurant daily! This is a little slice of heaven, unlike anything you'll find nearby. Private, cozy, picturesque and serene. I will be returning here time and time again, also referring everybody I know! Thank you for such a wonderful and memorable stay!!
- stephanie (8/5): Nice hotel - We had a very good stay, the staff was courteous and friendly. The food was excellent, the view of the beach, superb. Was great that breakfast was included in the price. Rooms clean but need a little updating, otherwise i slept comfortably. I will definitely return
- Stephen (10/5): Tropical Cove of Paradise - This hotel experience is a wonderful pastime by the sea. The cove is surging with the sound of waves that fils the air night and day in a place of immaculate palm trees and flowers. The restaurant overlooks the water with open air covered portions and the food is wonderful. The Bouliabase has a Curry Flavor and The Crepes were perfect at breakfast
- Scott (8/5): Mission Trip - I have stayed at the hotel on many times during my visits to Haiti. I always enjoy getting a good meal and a nice shower. This was my best stay as everything was working (like the internet) and the staff was great. I recommend this hotel to the international traveler recognizing it is Haiti and the cultures are different but the service is good and overall I had a good experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Hotel right on a beautiful beach. - Great experience except that we had to wait an hour to be served breakfast.
- martin (8/5): Great Boutique Hotel on Nice Cove in Jacmel - I stayed at this hotel with two other guests as part of a development trip to Jacmel. The bar was excellent. The food was great (order the grilled lobster). And the view from the restaurant and bar was wonderful, featuring a Caribbean cove and palm trees looking toward the sea. The rooms were very clean with only a few mosquitos and the air conditioner, water, and electricity were consistent. Highly recommended if you are staying in the Jacmel area.
- paul (10/5): Havery returned for a second weekend of 4 we plan - Great location, friendly staff, ownership very visible, water front, great restaurant
- Verified traveler (10/5): Spectacular view relaxing atmosphere - The view of the bay was breathtaking, great food. Excellent welcome cocktail. Grounds were well maintained, nice pool. I didn't mind not having a tv in the room as I didn't plan on staying in room with so much to see and do in Jacmel. Bathroom could be cleaner with hot water.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel close to the beach - Very nice hotel close to the beach. Excellent food. Enjoyed my stay!
