- Yvonne (4/5): - It could have been a much better stay-the check in was quick- great point! The staff was friendly. My problem was when we got to the room, there were no towels except one wash cloth. There are no phones in the rooms. I called and left a message. We didn’t get towels until 10 pm- apparently there was some issue with their service. They actually had a full sized bathtub. I was so excited until I couldn’t get the plug to go down. They have a restaurant on the premises which offers a 15% discount if you stay at the hotel. The food selection is limited. If you want only American food- they offer pizza. I had the pork street tacos which were delicious in my opinion.

- Sarah (8/5): - Heres a sincere review of this little hidden gem, as my best friend and I have now stayed there twice before our virgin voyages cruise the next day— and plan to every time in the future. This is where you want to stay in downtown Miami if you don’t mind a little bit of the upscale hostel feel. From the moment you step into the little front office, which is nothing special, it is absolutely a welcoming and warm feeling of simplicity and character over extravagance and stuffiness. Buildings are arranged in a beautiful garden, outdoor picnic tables, and chairs in a lawn area to just chill or kick around soccer or other lawn games…. and they just recently added an awesome outdoor bar and little restaurant area that serves tapas from an outdoor stone oven. We can’t say enough about this place. It is absolutely reminiscent of little Havana, and brings so much joy. It has recently been renovated in the last six months to a year and someone had put a lot thought into the landscaping with all types of tropical flowers, orchids, palms and plants hovering around and above…a little hidden slice of paradise. Couple of small feedback suggestions for improvement: filters in the ceiling were both filthy and almost black, lack of additional towels provided in the bathroom, television remote needed batteries, tub was clogged and did not drain properly/filled with water while showering, better coffee and water situation in the main office 🙂 Killer outdoor bar and restaurant newly added!!!!

The keyless entries were sounding alarms all night from other people having trouble getting in the rooms kept me up all night. Had a horrible night of sleep and the train all night when I asked to speak to a manager, they would not let me speak to a manager. I would like a refund. I stay there one night and had to book a hotel for a second night and double my cost because I refuse to sleep there a second night. I only reserved The second night through hotels.com.

I wasn’t sure of staying there as I have had bad experiences other places , in Miami . He gave me a tour of property and showed me various rooms . Check in was seamless and Quick and Easy . Room was antique and fantastic . The pool was clean and quiet. It has an old school Miami/ Key west feel. I will definitely be returning

The Miami River Inn is perfect for a scenic, relaxing getaway. Bring your travel kit to ensure you have everything you need during your stay. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase at the reception office that is open 24/7. We will stay here again!

The bar on site was a great place to grab a drink and the Spanish restaurant around the corner was amazing. My family loved it and the staff were very friendly. Will definitely stay here anytime we go to a baseball game.

I asked if the room was available and she said yes I then showed her the email with customer service , Stephanie was very dismissive to the prior conversation with the customer service rep, I showed her the message and she looked them up on her end as well she then said she was the manager and I had to pay the additional fee. I told her that’s not what I was told if the room was available I could check in at 12 for no additional cost she said said the room wasn’t available i left and returned at 2:30 where she allowed me to check in. Staff wasn’t that friendly. The overnight and morning receptionist were very friendly.

- stephanie (6/5): Okay stay - The hotel is pretty old. However they could’ve cleaned the walls and doors and couch better. On the side of the building we were at they had a bunch of trash such as old furniture etc from the previous bar that was at this location. We stayed in 407 C so we would hear the people go up and down the stairs all night, the front door must not close correctly because we’d wake up with it open. The bed would also sink by our heads. The location is close to a lot of places and the bar onsite is nice and you get a discount but the hotel def needs some help.

I stayed in two different rooms in the span of two days. Looks like both of those rooms were not cleaned or freshen up whatsoever. The floors were dirty, carpet rugs not vacuumed. Restrooms were filthy. I saw noticeable stains. I used to love this inn back when it was called the Selena but looks like it’s been neglected with new management? It’s a lovely inn with lots of plants, garden feel vegetation, just wished they took more time and work to maintain and clean it well. It’s a shame, there’s so much potential.

The staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, and the owner is genuinely warm and welcoming. The on-site restaurant serves what I believe is the best pizza in Miami — paired with a charming and vibrant atmosphere. The hotel itself is a historic property, which adds character, but it’s true that it could benefit from some updates. That said, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and I had a great night’s sleep. If you value authentic hospitality and great food over flashy decor, this place is a wonderful stay

- M J (10/5): - This is a compound of small buildiings, including 4 built in the early 1900's, now on the National Register of Historic Places. On the South side of the Miami River, it seems light-years away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Miami, though just a walk across the bridge. We first stayed there in the early 80's, when they were in the process of renovating the original boarding house, and really enjoyed our stay then. Life happened, and we didn't make it back until now. We were pleasantly surprised by what they've done, with the well-kept grounds, quiet spaces and shady tropicals. The staff is very welcoming and eager to please. The bar and restaurant were closed during our stay (in the early part of the week) so we didn't get to check that out. But we'll be back!!

The grounds are nice n quirky . But there is a dj playing music until 11 on all 3 nights we was there.the rooms were ok but not coffee making facilities. Got a drink at the bar were I was charged a tip of $2 just for being served!! Decent price for Miami but average stay

I don’t think I’ll ever stay in any place else when I visit home again the fact that they even have a little bar next-door that you can go to. It was just awesome. The location can’t be beat. It’s so centrally located to everything yet. Such a quiet, little isolated, tropical paradise the staff was super nice too.
- Catalina (6/5): - The grounds are pretty, and the bar area was nice. If you book on Expedia, you will likely get the "non-premium" rooms. We booked two rooms. One had no mirrors except the small one in the bathroom. It did not have a plug in the bathroom, so there was no way to use any hair tools where the one mirror was found. The other room had a broken lock in the sliding glass door, so it was a safety issue. We put a piece of furniture on it to prevent it from opening. The manager did come up to see it, but of course, there is no way you can fix that in one day. No lock on a door is a big issue. Neither of these rooms has TVs (no big deal), but they were very clean.

The accommodations were extremely disappointing—definitely not what was advertised. I was given a room on the fourth floor with no elevator, which was completely unreasonable, especially with luggage. The building felt neglected and poorly maintained. I ended up checking out earlier than planned. I sent multiple text messages to the number posted at the reception door (there was no staff around), and no one ever responded. Despite leaving early and trying to communicate, I was still charged for the extra day I didn’t stay. Poor communication, bad service, and just a terrible overall experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

- Michel (10/5): Happily Surprised - The vicinity is a old set of small condominium rebuffed into a hotel. The room quality is inegal, therefore I suggest you take a good one, like we did. And it was great. 2 stories room, bedroom upstairs, large kitchen and living room. Nice place, our conditions was fine (not all the rooms though). Super friendly and accommodating staff. Thanks a lot folks. Interested to return. One sad point though. Very few shops and commercial around the property. You need a car.
- KaShena T (2/5): - I was giving a unit that look nothing like the pictures and wound up having to stay in a one-bedroom unit when I paid for it too and I was not compensated for that there was an air conditioning issue the units were dirty Dusty and the first thing that they tried to put us in had a horrible smell.
- Logan (2/5): - Was not impressed at all. Checked in, went to my room and within 10 minutes I checked out and got a new hotel room. Shared bathroom (which is gross to begin with) was dirty, I had top floor room and it was very hot in there.
- Royce (8/5): - Amazing customer service Amazing price Amazing location Check-in process was easy. I understand the hotel changed ownership and they are improving the building and structure. The restaurant mentioned on the website and the voicemail is not operational. No one picks up the phone and I found out because they turned the ringer off. they were nice enough to help me print my luggage tags.

- Terri (8/5): Not a perfect place but an excellent place to stay - I love this place. A lot of cool vibes. My room was a little rundown (tub surface peeling, faucets rusted and didn’t turn properly). There was no ability to control the air conditioning. My biggest complaint is there wasn’t soap at the sink. You had to use the soap on the wall in the shower. That being said, I loved the place and would stay here again. The property is lovely and feels almost like an island property. It’s very close to downtown and easy access to the interstate. The staff were very nice and gave the place a homey feel. It didn’t have the same comfort as a large hotel but it was well worth the stay for the ambience alone. The price was good and I will definitely stay here again.
- Monica (10/5): - I was so afraid to stay here bc of all the bad reviews so i guess I was surprised that my stay was enjoyable. I stayed 1 night in Feb, on a friday night. I had a room in the house past the pool in the back on the right. I think it was the yellow house. No music playing, barely anyone outside. The surrounding area is quiet, no stores around. The room was private (we had our own bathroom, paid extra for that, eye roll). It was clean. We slept well. I will stay again.
- Battsengel (4/5): - I really liked the staffs, but the room itself was not the best. There was only one room service in our 3-day stay, we could not control the ac, and the shampoo provided gave us the worst rash. The closet and the balcony had so much dirt, and outside area was full of dumpster all over. Overall, it was a really bad, almost terrible stay.
- Rana (6/5): Fairly decent - On the whole, the hotel is average. The perks are it's in a good location and the rooms are pretty clean. The only downside was the building where my room was had old furniture stored on the first floor and the screen door to the balcony of my room was broken and there was no air conditioning.

- Annie (2/5): - No airconditioning, hotter inside the room than outside, weird smells EVERYWHERE, literally smells like death near the entrance. felt unsafe even entering the property. Looked nothing like the photos Doors were loose but had codes on them that they definitely don't switch out. I had a long day with one 3 hour flight, a 3 hour layover and another 2 hour flight after that. I was so tired that i considered just accepting it and staying there but the longer i sat the worse it got. Ended up bying another hotel 2 hours later and hightailing it out of there. Please choose somewhere else to stay. This place honestly felt like a coverup for another business💀

- amyo7664 (2/5): Not like the pictures online at all. - This hotel was recently sold and is now The Miami River Hotel. We stayed here for a wedding from Thurs to Mon. The room was old, run down and in disrepair. The LOUD Latin music played at all hours and was very disturbing. The staff was pleasant but not helpful. They did not take soiled linens or empty the trash the entire 4 nights we were there. Piled trash and discarded furniture littered the common grass area outside our room. The wedding venue was put together nicely and the bar staff was excellent. I would come for the event and stay elsewhere.
